I think after Queen Elizabeth passed away, any sort of nostalgia will be gone from all these former colonies (or whatever the other term is like what Australia used to be).

Some day, Bitcoin and many other types of currencies will be the ones denoting the country, to show that it's no longer in "god" we trust but in code Smiley

going for Lazio tomorrow, @4 has value in current situation

I grabbed btts at almost even money, though i have zero confidence in my pick...cup matches are equally unimportant for both teams.

I narrowly skipped Lazio yesterday. I went for Valencia in other Spanish cup game but put the same money on Real+Juventus multi as a counterbet so I won that (but net is a small loss as total was only less than 2x).

Funny enough we could trust both favorites to win, Juventus even went back to 1-0 in regular time, what was strange was they had 5 times more attempts than Lazio!

Looks like you guys had an amazing session. Where can I find the exact video replay to see Steve?

If I go to the Youtube channel I can only find Behind the Bet sessions with 3 goalkeepers (Paul Robinson is the latest) and then also matches, but no Steve!

You guys should get Trofo, cryptofrka, buwaytress, jeremypwr, LFC_Bitcoin, to join Clubhouse TV for Fantasy or just football betting in general. Okay maybe find a Gunners fan in there too lol

2125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Up to what discount are you giving up for your customers? on: February 03, 2023, 06:44:44 AM
Huh 1 or 2%? If you're selling expensive stuff or high end things, okay, that's a reasonable discount.

But honestly if you're selling things to a lot of people and want to offer a BTC discount, and 1 or 2% already affects your business then you need to rethink your profit margin my friend Smiley

Firstly, your customer has to bear Bitcoin buying (and spending fees). So your 1% discount might not even be enough for the hassle for them.

We who earn BTC might forget it's not really convenient for most people to get BTC Wink

5% is the minimum to me to make things attractive.

It depends on what kind of items or food your selling and how much is it because giving like 1% is huge and if you only add some cents on it to profit the youll be lossing. What i plan is you have like lets say $5 discount if you pay bitcoin if your  purchase reach at $50 .

So 1% is huge, but you're suggesting 10%?

In other news, Valencia sacked Gatusso.

yeah, back to Voro again, maybe he will have more matches this time as interim, not sure that there is anyone on sight as new coach
one point above relegation zone is really low point

and for a start could not be worse, playing Real in Madrid, interesting though, both delayed matches are replies from Super Cup semi-finals

Always thought guys like Gatusso are great leaders on the pitch but his bulldog style is maybe not so suitable for bigger teams. Of course you never really know with managers, players, clubs, sometimes it's all about the chemistry. Simeone would never make it at most other clubs I think.

I feel like Valencia could become good bets at this point forward?

I agree with Saint-loup about volatility and the only way to really protect your winnings is with locked in odds, not possible on this site but only at bookies where your odds are locked in. It should be said that I don't place many bets on big odds, it's something I only try out with low wagers and only more recently due to inspiration from other bettors who seem to like to place high odds.

I definitely seem to lose almost the same frequency on low odds games. My history on FBC betting shows I lose a lot of bets on odds below 2x anyway while history on bookies with high odds show I win something like 1 in 10, so in theory odds above 10x are very good ROI.

...
It doesn't make sense right? To me anyway, but yeah I get it, we should always try to make profit.

For the event with only 2 possible outcomes (either of the players wins and there are no draws), with odds of x23 for one and x1.2 for the other, you would have an amazing arbitrage opportunity with a guaranteed ROI of 14.05%.

So if the odds were correct, you could just throw a larger stake, to enjoy decent profit, virtually risk-free. So yes, it would make sense.

But I don't really look for arbitrage. As I mentioned, my bet was $5. I prefer to either lose $5 or win 23x5. Instead of "guaranteeing" $1 win. If odds were 2x it would be different I would definitely risk a further $50. Then I either win $55, or $45. Smiley
2129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 02, 2023, 08:48:12 AM
So some of our thoughts yesterday turned out to be true. Marseille and Monaco continue their chase, while Lens dropped off. It is to be expected, as I keep saying, Lens is overperforming.

Also, nice to see Nice get a win Wink

Lens surprisingly lose from Nice that before this match begin Lens as favourite status because they are very strong at their home ground even during this season Lens were unbeatable for home matches and but apparently Nice can taking chances to scoring goals from corner kick which makes they can earn 3 points from this match besides that i can see Nice goalkeeper Schmeichel was performing well yesterday because he can able to blocked several attempts from Lens players and after this result Lens position were overtaked by Marseille because in the same time Marseille had important winning from tough team Nantes

Not a surprise. Lens is favorite because of form and performance, bookies were just adjusting odds.

They cannot sustain a winning season for their style of play, which is only meant to get midtable positions. I know it's just the french league but all the top teams use direct passing offence, Lens has target man. Even Haaland at Dortmund proves you can't win like this.
2130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 01, 2023, 11:23:54 AM
If there is one team that can really have a chance to steal the title from PSG's hands I think that is Marseille.

Lens don't seem trustworthy for me when we talk about making it to the end. They have had a solid momentum but it is still doubtful if they can keep it until the end. Marseille are much more credible for it. Because they have a good squad and a solid form at the same time. While PSG are struggling this much it is like a golden opportunity for Marseille to put up a fierce fight against them. They will need to leave Lens behind first which shouldn't be very difficult actually. Because Lens made so many point losses recently.

Jesus yes, we need more people like you and a few others here to please finally try not to talk about bloody PSG alone!! One of the reasons I find it so hard to come here is that in other threads people are not just talking about the champions, but the teams they support. Here, majority of people are smashing posts about PSG.

Anyway yes Marseille? This was definitely one of the teams I would have gone for early in the season, it was for me between them and Monaco. Unfortunately I went for Monaco... or maybe fortunately as it's not yet too late to get some weird streak??

And Lens as I said yesterday, nice to see them in 2nd but they can't sustain football by crossing in this modern game. Especially if they aspire to CL, they will have to evolve.

2 updates from me.

First, Tsitsipas lost badly in the Australian Open, and he was the guy I put bets on above 23x in this site, I couldn't believe my luck that he actually entered the final, but of course, he didn't even win a single set so it was quite a given outcome.

Wow that must have been a very nice multiplier if you won it! Did you not place counterbet on Djokovic to win? Sometimes, in situations like this, I would place a counterbet; in that way you always end up with some profit.

Yes, I think it would have ended up being close to what I originally found the odds (23x++) if not even more. So let's say I put $1 on this right? (I actually put $5 but let's just say for easier math.

Normally I would also think about the counterbet but Djokovic was less than 1.2 to bet on.

So even if I bet 10x what I would win from Tsitsipas, I would only get back almost the same amount of money I placed on Tsitsipas anyway. Meaning, I put down $10, I would win less than $2.

Nett profit: $<12 - $10 (counterbet) $1 (initial bet) = <$1.

And if Tsitsipas did win, I would only gain $13. Because I put the counterbet.
Nett profit: $23 - $1 (initial bet) - $10 (counterbet) = $13

So If you think about it, should I counterbet to have a tiny net profit at the cost of losing almost half of potential big profit? Smiley

It doesn't make sense right? To me anyway, but yeah I get it, we should always try to make profit.

2132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Month January 23 - the best month since bitcoin? on: February 01, 2023, 08:45:43 AM
Your opinion is probably exactly right at the moment, the price dropp 1,000 USD. But after 2022 we finally have some FOMO again.
Yes, that's right. Either way, 2023 has got off to a good start and some FOMO is certainly not bad for the overall market.  Smiley

And I would repeat what I thought two days ago when I first replied to this thread, I think there is nothing wrong with having a bit of optimism, even though the context is that Bitcoin was performing so so badly that it was impossible to do even worse Wink

Optimism and FOMO in January might not be a bad thing at all, we all need a little break!

Now if we could please at least hold on to this sideways above 20000 for the entire February it would be great. I feel as if the problem now is confidence is so hard to build in the market after so many consecutive beatings in 2022.
2133  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My advice If you are here to make money on: February 01, 2023, 07:28:13 AM

Trust me, old investors will also keep losing money. Traders lose money all the time, and it's a known statistic in all types of trading markets that the majority lose money.
I don't agree with this. Might say they also lose money while still learning but if we say ALWAYS and ALL the time - meaning they didn't do anything to improve their strategies or correct their mistakes. If this is really happening, then we could assume that they no longer stay in the market today as they don't have the reason either.

You don't have to agree with this. Facts are facts, and that is why I brought up statistics. It is why I brought up the fineprint you get and see whenever you sign an agreement to invest money in something actually regulated by the law.

I did not say that ALL investors lose money, I said traders lose money all the time (this doesn't mean some don't make profit). I was responding to someone who said new investors lose money, but I point out that even old ones do, and all the time. If you're an exchange owner, I guarantee every time you open your dashboard, nett is traders lose.

The moment you open a trade you lose (fees, commissions, spread). You always have to close a trade at a better price you bought/sold.

If this is really happening, then we could assume that they no longer stay in the market today as they don't have the reason either.

Again, we don't have to assume because of statistics. It is really happening. I was not giving an opinion.

Look it up yourself, but I can share one article that has about 10 citations.

https://tradeciety.com/24-statistics-why-most-traders-lose-money

According to them, 1% of traders only have net profit long term.

So you can bet your ass most traders no longer stay in the market.
2134  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My advice If you are here to make money on: January 31, 2023, 12:16:51 PM
I have seen that new investors lose money most of the time but if they invest after thinking well they will gain many times. I don't trust any coin other than bitcoin as I have invested in several coins.  I have lost a lot of money by doing this. But if I invest in Bitcoin, I never think that it will be a loss, it can always be a profit.

Trust me, old investors will also keep losing money. Traders lose money all the time, and it's a known statistic in all types of trading markets that the majority lose money. Read any kind of investment tool and you'll see the fine print mention this. It doesn't matter if it is foreign exchange, stocks, IPO, it's a given that most people lose money, and even government bonds people lose money because they need to sell it before maturity date (so they have to pay a fee).

The thing to learn is not that they will gain many times from thinking well. But to expect that you will most likely lose, but that your chances are better with smaller gains over the longer term, and from not making trading your main investment of time.

Do your normal job well. Put aside savings, then put aside investments, and invest in proven things like Bitcoin. And still, expect to lose Smiley

They missed a golden opportunity to run away from their closest followers. This also shows that the pressure is all building up on them during such time and their consistency has been lost,in fact they have a lot of draws and a lost game against Lens recently which says a lot about them lately. If this was not enough, the pressure is even bigger for the upcoming encounter in the Champions League, they have Champions League as their primary objective and a lot of fans are waiting a lot from them here,if they miss to go forward in the Champions League then the pressure in the Ligue 1 will even go up further.

They're not worried about the league. Their rivals are just as inconsistent, and they can even afford to drop to second or third place for a while. In fact, that might actually give them some more "motivation" to gain victories to eventually win.

It's definitely the Champions League they'll feel the pressure. One last season with Messi magic it seems, so that's the only they need to capture and Messi will be motivated for.

The real question for me, because PSG talk is boring, is can Marseille or even Monaco do enough to try and snatch this title? Lens, forget about it. You can't win the league with crossing as your main tactic, so if they stay in place end of the season for Champions League, it'll be interesting to see if they try something different.

Villarreal surprisingly lost to Rayo and nobody from us haven't saw this outcome.

Including me, in betting. This was my last won freebet from Sportsbet, I chose Villareal without learning my lesson, thinking my luck would remain the same after Barca took victory from Girona. Chukwueze seems to be the best player without producing any goals, but I think we should blame Setien for this one, as he was praising Rayo before the game, saying they were one of his favorite teams lol, while Villareal winning the way they were for several games gave them lots of confidence.

"Nice" fixtures next. Rayo go to Almeria, Villareal go to Elche...

But can't blame them alone, I missed even bigger "easier" wins in basketball.

This was the first time I ever saw 2 flash promos in a less than a week, which seems it means I must have gotten it quickly for completing one earlier. Hope this is a more frequent phenomenon Wink
2138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too accessible of online casino grows addiction faster? on: January 30, 2023, 12:53:00 PM
I think this argument is pretty accurate. Consider how much screen time of people increased since we have smartphones. Online casinos mean you don't need physically need to be in casino. So it makes casinos 1000 times more accessible to everyone that have laptop/smart phone and internet access. When one person wants to quit gambling he/she should stop entering that online casino. It is way harder to achieve than not going to casino in physical life.

I'm in two halves about this. I know for sure that if someone wants something badly, they'll look for it. Before online casinos, I know people who just do anything to gamble. Make homemade dice, homemade board games, gamble on football anything. So these kind of people, you can't stop them.

On the other hand, I also hear of kids who get addicted to games early, and it's not directly gambling but they pay more and more pocket money to get "lootboxes" to try and get good items, etc. Then again, take away their phones and they just find something else.

Sevilla were never going to stay in bottom for too long, it would have been the collapse of the decade, especially with such an immense keeper at the back who also had a good WC.

Not that we will start betting on them again lol.

Real Madrid, may they continue to slump like this for a bit more at least until we have a very healthy 15 point cushion!!

Indeed, well done to Southampton, in the draw for the next round. They’re doing really well in the cups, I hope they’re able to transfer that form into the Premier League soon.
I can't believe they are still in last place in Premier League, but competition for relegation is better than ever with Everton, West Ham, Leeds, Leicester, etc.
They need to start winning matches and points, and I am expecting to see very interesting rest of the season.
Winning one cup would be great, but staying in Premier League is very important task ahead.

The season keeps looking better for me (not betting just tables) as Real somehow did not score in the last game while my team is finding a way to get in one-nil wins a lot. Next up for us in Manchester United though in 2 weeks in Europa, but they seem really strong these days hehe.

Anyway, Southampton being in last place must be just something like bad luck, and of course it's easy to say that, same could be said for every team near the bottom, but the thing about luck is it can also turn around the other way. 3 wins in a row, imagine, and it's middle table.
