2141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RavenCoin (RVN), x16r NVidia miner. UPD! Windows version on: March 30, 2018, 09:56:12 PM
i think is better than enemy +1 to 2 mh

Doesn't seem worth a 2% fee
Why would you say that? I don't really like that it's not open source but saying that the 2% fee doesn't make it worth it to use over a 2Mh/s improvement doesn't make much sense. +2Mh/s is well worth 2% unless that's the total improvement for a rig with >100Mh/s. Tongue
2142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Rewards: Sell immediately or HODL? on: March 30, 2018, 09:51:19 PM
I think that in the long run, it's riskier to hold those rewards. I'd only hold a portion even if I believed in a project's potential. However, in the event that the token doesn't get listed in a big exchange following the ICO, I think that it'd be worth waiting for a better exchange listing if it has been announced. If there's no announcement it could be judged by volumes as exchanges like to list tokens with big volumes and activity.
2143  Economy / Speculation / Re: What causes Bitcoin to drop? on: March 30, 2018, 09:47:26 PM
Today's price drop was caused by a large selloff but the market's sentiment was already in a bad mood so traders followed with further pressure instead of working towards a recovery. I don't think that a recovery back above $7000 seems likely at this point but perhaps some support so there's no further drop would be beneficial.
2144  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Number26 (n26.com) discussion on: March 30, 2018, 09:41:49 PM
@alani123

You can open a bank account remotely with all banks today (neo banks and classic bank as well) We're in 2018 and banking online in a minimum in today's standards.
Well, I wouldn't stand by that statement. I don't know what you have in mind or where you got that idea from but opening a bank account remotely is a very new trend. No bank in my country (Greece) does this and it's quite unheard of in the entire Balkan peninsula. There'd be legal precautions under different jurisdictions as to whether this is even allowed, or it's just that many banks are not investing or do not have trust in the infrastructure to do KYC remotely.

Frankly, I think that only a hyperminority of banks with physical branches allow remote account opening even in countries where it's legal to do that.
2145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GARLICOIN - Reddit's Garlic Bread Worshiping Currency on: March 30, 2018, 08:09:33 PM
Secure
Garlicoin is like the deadbolt for door locks; it's secure and protects you from crypto-vampires. Blockchain tech makes it nearly impossible to run a brute-force attack and with our advances copy-and-pastes in wallet encryption, you can be moderately safe that your garlic bread isn't going anywhere.

Blazing Fast
Garlicoin trading speed is near instant pretty fast. Never be inconvienienced again with slow transaction speeds and high rates!

Open Source
Wanna take a closer look at Garlicoin? Do it! Just like the other "cool" cryptocurrencies, you'll be sure to find just what makes us tick on our GitHub.

Decentralized
If you're like us, you hate fiat currencies; slow, paper, and prone to inflation. Decentralized (as in Garlicoin) currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum have a limited amount on market. 69 million Garlicoin will only ever be available on market.

I want to invest. Do you have any rules of ICO? When ICO starts and ends?

and how is the above different from all my other crypto coin holdings? They all have the above.
It's a direct copy-paste from the garlico.in website. I don't think that any of those claims are meant to be very serious. They're there from when the coin launched and as far as I know have never been changed. Garlicoin started as a joke coin and the fact that people are asking how to invest in it makes it even funnier.

There's no ICO... You can now buy coins on exchanges with a 99% guarantee that the price will be lower in the future.
2146  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining does not make any financial sense? on: March 30, 2018, 04:28:28 PM
The thing with Nicehash is that it's actually a hash RENTING service. SO while it's made and marketed to look like a hash on demand service, what it helps facilitate is p2p transactions to rent someone's hash more securely rather than having to fully trust them. Renters ofc put prices that are slightly higher than if they'd be mining directly.
2147  Economy / Speculation / Re: can anyone here could be able to stop the bitcoin fall down of market price? on: March 30, 2018, 12:39:32 AM
I think that Bitfinex could be to blame for an inflated price at large. Once that exchange is out of the way we'd see much less market manipulation. People like to attribute the falling bitcoin price to selling pressure but another factor would be market manipulation too. The #1 exchange by volumes isn't reporting volumes or reserves responsibly, something must be going on behind the scenes with Bitfinex and Tether.
2148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I just go commit suicide? on: March 30, 2018, 12:37:21 AM
Losing money is depressing and very sad but losing one's life is the horrible thing someone might  ever experience, loosing is just part of life, you still have them don't you? Only. The value decrease, it's not like someone took it from you, price will have changes soon.... So... Just wait patiently before doing anything rush,
Yes, patiently waiting is the best thing for him right now. Doing business in any field is risky. Do not think of death when we fail. It is a cowardly act, not worth dying for. Money is fleeting, our lives are born by our parents and we raise, let us know your life.
That's how things work with investing overall anyway. If every inspiring investor would have shun away even at the slightest missfortune we would have been left with far fewer bright minds. OP should focus on how to use his energy on productive tasks and perhaps forget about investing for a while. He'll see that not all things shoul be dependent on his investment. After-all, the best investments are buy and forget investments.
2149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GARLICOIN - Reddit's Garlic Bread Worshiping Currency on: March 28, 2018, 09:15:41 PM

Development of garlicoin seems to be deader than dead...need to be 'enlightened' if that is not the case...

but need some more 'hooks' on this coin to round it out for features IMHO

brad

Yup, sounds about right. I don't think anybody else cares about GRLC at this point. The community is memes and just memes. No positive developments, the price has slumped, volumes have collapsed. If development stops next up we're likely going to see exchange delistings etc.
2150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Is MAVRO the most ridiculus ICO (that doesn't look like a joke)? on: March 28, 2018, 08:59:38 PM
Well, what do you know... Mavrodi is reported dead!

"Russian businessman Sergei Mavrodi, whose MMM pyramid scheme deprived millions of Russians of their savings in the 1990s, has died of a heart attack, according to Russia media."
https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-mmm-pyramid-scheme-founder-dead-mavrodi/29124267.html

A big part of that new effort to scam people was based upon the cult of personality many people had around Mavrodi. I wonder if the project will go on without any abnormalities. MMM schemes he had spinned off around the world seem to be falling apart at a faster than ever rate now that he's gone.

2151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 LUNABOT - BINANCE / POLO - the only crypto bot you'll need 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 on: March 28, 2018, 01:22:35 PM
Ok, that's an interesting project. I like how it's been made to look so user-friendly.

I haven't jumped into testing yet but I'd be interested on that free config. Any plans to work with big FIAT exchanges? This'd be useful for longer term trade-bot strategies on markets with higher liquidity like GDAX, Bitstamp etc.
2152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I just go commit suicide? on: March 28, 2018, 01:11:30 PM
Well, you shouldn't have put that much on ETH. Ethereum is very young in its success and if you can't afford the losses you shouldn't have went in in the first place.

Do not even think of doing anything bad to yourself though. There are many things you can do to earn money and one of them is being an entrepreneur. See this as an opportunity to go out and seek ideas you could work with. A dark past might act as motivation for productivity.

Your options with the investment to me would be as follows:

1. Take the loss and cash out.

This is something to consider if you are in need of money urgently.

2. Ride on with the market.

Worst case with #2 is that you might never actually see the same amount of money. Sadly, it's a possibility. However, if you believe in ETH and holding is a viable option then do so and see where it gets you. Perhaps once the news about ASICs are cleared with developments from ETH foundation the price could shoot up again.

2153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market has returned or not? on: March 28, 2018, 01:04:51 PM
I don't think htat this should be called a return. The market still has potential but selling pressure has been pushing it down. People bought the latest dip and are still cashing out but this pressure won't stay on board for long. If prices are sustained close to 8000 USD for a bit more we might see potential for another rise.
2154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Purchasing biggest crypto exchanges by banks on: March 28, 2018, 11:52:37 AM
I think this is a real danger to the crypto industry. Banks have the power to buy exchanges, and if they do the data of crypto users could end in the hands of people that are against the principles of bitcoin. Imagine a bank owning your exchange data, they'd easily hand it to whatever government without second thoughts.
2155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: any signature bounty for newbies? on: March 28, 2018, 09:00:45 AM
Bounty campaigns can be joined on BountyPortals without a bitcointalk account being required. You can get rewarded for joining Slack/Telegram channels, participating on Reddit, Liking/Commenting on Facebook and retweeting/liking on twitter. Try is over here if you think that's worthwhile, signup takes a second:

2156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vote and Help on: March 27, 2018, 07:11:38 PM
I voted for Monero. I like how that currency has kept its community outlook through the years. It has resisted corporate shills as crypto grew and yet became a succesfull project both financially and technology wise. The downside would be that many dark net users are using it for illegal or grey market transactions and all that goes under the hood of it being a successful crypto. But that's what you get for unimpeded neutrality. Freedom is good in my opinion.
2157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to work on bitcointalk effectively? on: March 27, 2018, 07:09:58 PM
You can be an effective bounttmy hunters if you are dedicated and hardworking. You can earn money here if you are dedicated here on you job that you realy want to join here becuae actualy there are som many project that did not pay or they are not succesful so if you become affected about that then you wil become discourage at all and didnt like the job anymore.
That's true. I especially like bountyportals when it comes to bounty campaign management platforms. It's the easiest place to participate on new and serious projects. It is managed by the highly trusted Irfan who is a member of this forum.
2158  Economy / Economics / Re: Digital Money = Cashless Society on: March 27, 2018, 09:43:16 AM
Honestly, most developed countries have the largest portion of their finacial transactions as cashless. Both by sheer volume of money transfered ofc but more recently also in terms of numbers of transactions. This isn't something beneficial for crypto as long as the economy is running in FIAT because people show that they are trusthing the banking system more, giving leniency to banks to loan out even bigger percentages and this way creating more (non-physical) debt based money.
2159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap manipulates the market? (Not FUD) on: March 25, 2018, 09:43:41 PM
I think coinmarketcap is unique in concept. Combining important aspects of cryptocurrency market data in a way that stock market stat watching services couldn't. However, there are several aspects of it that I don't really like.

First: Ticker data is not a good indicator of price by any means. Tickers (which coinmarketcap uses to get prices) can be programmed based on different rulesets from exchange to exchange, can be far from actual market prices (some exchanges show the middle between bid/ask) and can even be utterly faked by exchanges.

For a website that tracks market capitalizations of cryptocurrencies through more accurate means, people should check https://cryptocoincharts.info. They track prices based on all actual trades that happen on exchanges.
2160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin have the possibility of hitting $30K before the end of the year? on: March 25, 2018, 09:34:31 PM
Nobody can be certain for such market movements but what's for sure is that what happened in 2017 happened partly due to increased interest from people. The current situation has had many of those that entered at the top worried that the price might never rise again, plus a lot of selling pressure on top of current prices.
