2141  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you had $0,000,000 what would you do? on: September 30, 2014, 03:33:28 PM
Thats what me and a lot of people have at the end of the month when you've paid everything, thats why Bitcoin is falling hard.
2142  Economy / Speculation / Re: 40 Days Until Liftoff... on: September 30, 2014, 03:30:49 PM
Why 40 days and not 60 or 2000? There are no reasons to think in 40 days nothing interesting will happen. What I feel is we'll keep going down slowly for a long period of time before we see anything near 700 again.
2143  Economy / Economics / Re: What does it mean when a "country intervenes in the currency market"? on: September 30, 2014, 03:18:48 PM
I hope NZ doesnt fall in the same tricks as America and Europe, whose respective FIAT currencies are doomed.
2144  Economy / Economics / Re: How much did your salary increase over the past 5 years? on: September 30, 2014, 03:15:38 PM
It's dropped to zero because now I haven't a job Sad

dont worry there are many ways to get some few bucks, like with your current rank you can join sig campaigns and also look for a new job Tongue

I've been looking into this and all the major sig campaings are gone or full, plus it will take months for me to even be Full Member which is when you can get a little bit more than peanuts, I don't really know activity works im just posting normally.
2145  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dumpers are gone , bottom has been reached (366) on: September 30, 2014, 03:09:41 PM
Nothing but wishful thinking. We could easily hit 266. A redistribution of Bitcoin will happen, new players will hop in, current players will panic. Watch and see, this XMAS will be shakky as hell.
2146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Benjig speculation paradox on: September 30, 2014, 01:05:08 PM
I think we will see it lower than a lot of people expect, this will bring us to panic sell territory, big whales will sell, and with this a redistribution of wealth with happen. People that has been left out at the begining will have a second opportunity to enter the BTC game big time, owning a lot more BTC that they could have imagined, then slowly we'll see the price go back to ATH+ range.
2147  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin hit under 200 usd this year ? on: September 30, 2014, 12:51:44 PM
In my opinion is a very valid posibility, I think we will see it lower than we can expect before we hit ATH again.
2148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Willy and Markus (MtGox bots) were behind the last two BTC bubbles? on: September 30, 2014, 12:34:00 PM
I think they would have played a big role in the bubbles, but the real trigger was real interest in Bitcoin, beyond any manipulations therein. The current downtrend is simply the common folk not seeing a reason to own any BTC, they don't see in what ways BTC would improve their lifes as of right now unless they think the price will go REALLY high in the future (at this point the commmon folk cant invest a lot of FIAT into this beyond say 1 BTC). And they aren't going to risk their salary into hoping a coin goes to 2K in the next years, they would rathe spend it on a holidays and whatnot. We need to show a real reason to own BTC for the common folk and make it easy as hell to obtain then. They are put off by exchange verifications and so on.
2149  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN PRICE HAS NEVER INCREASED SINCE IT HIT $1,200 on: September 30, 2014, 12:14:31 PM
I am already wealthy... there, your argument debunked.
How did you become wealthy? Im always interested in these stories.
2150  Economy / Speculation / Re: Explanation of why Bitcoin price is falling. on: September 30, 2014, 11:48:36 AM
People using Bitcoin to buy actual goods is a good thing, but

1) Where is the data?
2) Why should the price go down unless the Bitcoins that are spent by people are being withdrawn for FIAT by the merchants as soon as they recieve them? Because it's what i've hear about Overstock. If this is what they are doing, the price is going to keep falling down, unless im getting somethong wrong.
2151  Economy / Economics / Re: "Apple Pay" on: September 30, 2014, 11:41:17 AM
I, certainly, see Apple Pay as a threat to cryptocurrencies being used for in-person transactions. This will do nothing to effect their attractiveness for online payment and low-fee money transfers though.

It is a treat as long as the common folk dont see a real usage for BTC. Beyond the use of microtransactions and international payments.. the common folk don't really need BTC right now, so they might as well stick to FIAT+Apple Pay.
2152  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Got my Trezor Today on: September 30, 2014, 11:34:43 AM
What's the difference between hoarding Bitcoin in a trezor vs hoarding Bitcoin in say, an USB stick and a backup in a harddrive and whatnot? Is it waterprooft?
2153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Welcome to BTC on: September 30, 2014, 11:28:34 AM
Faucets are nice for newbies, i remember the first time I got some BTC off a faucet, somehow it feels good even if it's a ridiculously small amount of money. Everything that's free feels good. Other than tho, it's pretty pointless. Good luck with your site anyway.
2154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Been browsing for months and contemplating owning a couple BTC, but... on: September 23, 2014, 06:14:12 PM
Why would Mr Joe the janitor want to buy BTC? or why would he want to prefer being paid in BTC rather than FIAT?
Why would the average Joe family want to risk their hard earned money by buying BTC? How would their life change for the better?

Some advantages of bitcoin transaction are anonymity, decentralization, fast and low fee.

Is there any way Mr Joe can send $10000 to another person and pay only a few cents for fee?
Is there any way Mr Joe can wire the money across the globe and the whole transaction can be completed within minutes?

Wait, you are implying that Mr Joe's first worry is sending 10K to another person (who the hell as ever done this) or wire money across the globe (again). Mr Joe's entire saving may very well be 10K and that's if you are lucky. Mr Joe has never left his native country. Mr Joe don't want to pay exchange fees, or go through the hassle of buying BTC (exchange identification and so on) for no reason.
2155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Visited my first Bitcoin ATM in Chicago today on: September 23, 2014, 05:57:30 PM
Why do some ATM machines require that you do ridiculous proof of identity tests such as: ID scan, fingerprint scan.. what the hell?
Why others only require SMS?

If you put too much hassle in the machines to do the transactions, it will all fail.
2156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: PAYPAL PARTNERS WITH BITPAY ET AL on: September 23, 2014, 05:46:11 PM
We'll have to see if this finally delivers a consistent bump in the price. We've been having good news for a while now and the price keeps stagnating.
2157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Ultimate Rant: Bitcoin, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly on: September 23, 2014, 05:38:41 PM
Well, you've missed the part were Proof of Work is inherent in Bitcoin and cannot be changed, so Bitcoin has to deal with it somehow if it was to be a success. A lot of things can be changed in Bitcoin, not PoW, its hardcoded. It would be a dissaster trying to change that at this point.
2158  Economy / Economics / Re: You work your butt off, and a rich dude does nothing and gets rich - how? on: September 23, 2014, 05:28:58 PM
People aren't "free to leave the job at anytime". If you are working a shitty job, it means you aren't able to find any better, and if you stop working, you are fucked as you can't pay the bills and basic needs. It's subtle slavery, while Mr King has a perpetual luxurious holiday. It's a joke.

So I suppose you just ignored 95% of what I said and continued using the ignorant term.

You do not have to take part in the American Way. Capitalism is not everywhere, there are other societies for you to choose from.  You can leave. Go join a different society, we'll show you the door.
He has pointed an objective fact: You cannot leave a job that will leave you without your fundamental needs covered, because your biological preservation mechanism is telling you to not stop working because if you do, you'll not have food, water and shelter, and you don't want this. You are not free to like this situation, any sane mind doesn't like this. Therefore, under no alternatives, you aren't free to leave your job. This is a fact, and you seem upset at this fact.
2159  Economy / Economics / Is there any reference in terms of an asset recovering current's Bitcoin fall %? on: September 23, 2014, 05:10:27 PM
We hit an ATH of about 1.1K USD, now we are marinating on the 400-380's. That's a big % of price decrease.

My question is: Has something ever recovered from such a loss? and has something ever doubled, tripled, cuadrupled a similar ATH? Show me the graphs, because I can't think of any past events. This is the true test for Bitcoin. It has to surpass the ATH to demonstrate it's trully unprecedented.
2160  Economy / Economics / Re: Would u pay in bitcoin? on: September 23, 2014, 05:04:00 PM
Yes, I would.
If everybody just hold bitcoin and never spend, why merchants or anybody would want to offer bitcoin as payment option?
Of course, I will spend my Bitcoin wisely, and try to save something for the future

Why would you, tho, just for the sake of hoping this contributes the price going up? Or because you really needed to use Bitcoin to buy that? See, thats why we are crashing. Theres always an element of speculation in every single Bitcoin though.
