1821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: And so it continues... on: February 21, 2015, 03:55:10 PM
The worst thing is that because of somebody else fault, the blame is put solely onto bitcoin and it gives the wrong perception about how unsafe bitcoin is....which is not true.

Indeed, all these hacks (imo) is a huge reason people are not getting into and behind btc like they should be.
but i doubt these "hacks" are really "hacks" at least not all of them. i am sure 99% of the time when you hear they got hacked it is just a lie to run away with people's money
Its always inside jobs. No one is getting hacked. But as you can see merchants dont stop addopting bitcoin because they know this is not bitcoins fault.
1822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CNN Money Adds Bitcoin Ticker on: February 21, 2015, 03:53:54 PM
As you can see, exchanges crashing have no impact on intelligent people and brands stopping adopting btc for the future.
1823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CNN Inside Man bitcoin episode review! Share your opinions! on: February 21, 2015, 03:52:20 PM
It was great and nicely aimed for the average joe that hasnt got a clue on btc yet.
1824  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to sell bitcoins for USD on: February 20, 2015, 03:45:51 PM
Stay away from exchanges until the Gemini exchange form the Winklevoss brothers is released my friend, too many scams lately, just way too many" fuck. I cant risk putting any money on centralized exchanges at this point. Im going go to use local bitcoins only until the Gemini exchange is released.
1825  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: earn bitcoins without tools on: February 20, 2015, 03:42:21 PM
Faucets and sig campaings, but they pare really low... get a real job imo, then exchange for btc.
1826  Other / Archival / Re: Last Drink You drank. (daily thread) on: February 20, 2015, 03:35:27 PM
2 glasses of mineral water in a row.
1827  Other / Off-topic / Re: Sony considers exit from phone, TV markets to focus on PlayStation on: February 20, 2015, 03:35:04 PM
They lost the phone battle with Samsung and Apple. Even Nokia, who used to be a leading brand is falling behind. Still a shame Xperia Z3 is a good phone.
I still dont get why they dont exploit the gaming mouse niche more. I would totally buy an xperia play 2 because i want integrated gamepad that slides nicely inside the mouse.
1828  Other / Off-topic / Re: Star Citizen on: February 20, 2015, 03:33:21 PM
I only look forward for games that have terraforming and building. If Space Engineers had planets that you could go and mine it would be the perfect game.
1829  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: February 20, 2015, 03:30:56 PM
I still think 21 btc is the magic number.
1830  Economy / Economics / Re: My bank account's got robbed by European Commission. Over 700k is lost. on: February 20, 2015, 03:29:53 PM
Shits about to go down in Greece again. I hope everyone is converting all their wealth into Bitcoin as we speak.

Probably fleeing to USD.. when people start fleeing from USD shit will get real.  This WILL happen.
USD is solid for now. If I was in greece i wouldnt go for USD tho, if you are a bitcoin illiterate you should at least know your metals ffs.
1831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin and Altcoin price related? on: February 20, 2015, 03:26:47 PM
Litecoin is on an upward trend, so as Bitcoin http://bit.ly/1x5QyYQ

Do you think both these coin's price trend in anyway related?

In terms of prices maybe they are related.

Only big altcoins havei mpact on bitcoin price, most are negligible.
1832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Darkleaks - A new version of Wikileaks? on: February 20, 2015, 03:17:54 PM
Would like to see a blockchain exclusively for leaks of this nature.
1833  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: We dont have enough decimal places. on: February 20, 2015, 03:17:13 PM
LOL it's more than enough. Even if every single citizen ever it would be enough to run the economy. The 1 btc holders would be like billonaires tho.
1834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas Antonopoulos said Give Bitcoin Two Years on: February 20, 2015, 03:10:05 PM
Would you agree or not?

Bitcoin Only Needs Two Years

Hmmmm... I respect the guy yeah.. But I do not know where his information came from.
2 years might be a little bold.. Maybe give it 3-5 years. I am still having doubt about that.

What do you think?

And then what will happen in 2 years?

Consolidation of the bitcoin price showing resilience and building trust upon investors.
1835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Third Auction For Ulbricht’s Coins, Scheduled on: February 20, 2015, 03:08:46 PM
These guys must have a lot of work. They are auctioning coins on the daily these days.
1836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Greece, Euro, Global Economy is going to boost BTC.. IE Capital Controls on: February 19, 2015, 08:06:14 PM
I've been watching the BTC price climb at Coinbase; I think people are paying attention to this.

Im nut certain bitcoin price rising slowly has anything to do with Greece, it would look more logical to be related with this :
http://www.engadget.com/2015/02/19/dell-accepts-bitcoin-canada-uk/

It seams that dell is now accepting bitcoin worldwide.

cheers

Merchants accepting bitcoin has tended to have zero impact on price in my experience (at least in terms of immediate reaction). No one reads a headline that company XYZ is going to accept bitcoin, jumps up, and runs off to trade $$/Euro/Yen/etc. (which XYZ already accepts) for BTC.

The thought that Greeks (and others) may soon be scrambling to find something to convert their bank funds into, similar to Cyprus in 2013, and that a few may already have started, would be more likely to move the BTC price needle.

When companies like microsoft and paypal jump there was an impact, but the price is being kept down in purpose. The impact will reveal itself sooner than later.
1837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming… fashionable? Like, literally. on: February 19, 2015, 08:05:03 PM
I dont think its even close to mainstream yet, its still a niche.
When its mainstream we'll all be rich assuming we are at least holding 10 BTC.
1838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ISIS Using Bitcoins :o on: February 19, 2015, 08:03:18 PM
ISIS would be better off using drk coin , rather than using bitcoin, for anonymity.
Doge coin is the last coin they would use Tongue Would be hard to dump millions in that amount.

lol

Actually DRK can be attacked by attacking the nodes.
They cant attack Monero in any possible way AFAIK.
1839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where Will Bitcoin Be In 2 Years? on: February 19, 2015, 08:00:13 PM
Miners will see their rewards in 2 years asuming they dont get scared and panicsell.
1840  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: February 19, 2015, 07:50:43 PM
Why are people still paying money for porn in the age of Xhamster, youporn, and redtube?
I think some people have certain fetishes that can only be 'tickled' certain ways, eg they are looking for something very specific.

I do think that bitcoin will likely do wonders for the porn industry as people can buy it without any stigma, plus porn producers will not need to worry about any chargebacks
Also some people like 1080p videos as soon as they get released and dont have to wait for torrrents.

1080p?  Pretty sure there's 4K porn for free, streaming also...

But I know some people like to own physical copies, so there's Blu Ray DVD's for that.
Most of of the 4k is just small cuts from the movies, not full.

Even the 1080p tend to be promotional cuts and not full scenes.
