http://reddit.comhttp://reddit.com/r/bitcoin...we would make it to the top bar on the front of every page. We would first be seen by 1080p monitor users but gradually we could be seen by everybody. Now I am not suggesting that people should start shilling subscribers on /r/Bitcoin but if somehow that number were to get that high, the Bitcoin price might just be pushed higher due to publicity. Should I put a bot working on it? Let's make a vote Send any amout of BTC to the following addresses, the one that get's most BTC one week from now will win Yes, put a bot making reddit accounts and subscribe them to /r/bitcoin ---> 1P7dpqASVPEYfTdCMVT4NHLuRygjTizetX No! I was thinking maybe there could be a project where we encourage web stores to take Bitcoin as payment and offer a discount (like 3%, about paypal's fees) for those who purchase with bitcoin. In addition, the official 'Pay Less with bitcoin' site will showcase stores and give out free advertising, and could develop easy to use and integrate plugins and APIs to make accepting bitcoins be something that takes around a hour to set up and get working.
Just make sure you explain to them all the fees the exchanges will charge them to exchange BTC to USD or EUR and to withdraw fiat to their bank. And don't forget to tell them that they should go sell the bitcoins in a hurry, preferably as soon as they get them(which is impossible because of the network confirmations needed before they can spend them and before any exchange let's them sell the BTC) or else they risk to lose 20%. You still think they should give a 3% discount for paying with Bitcoin? Think again. If a vendor -wants- bitcoin though it saves them CC fees plus the fees involved with buying coins with old monies. And there are more and more reasons to want bitcoin all the time. If they want bitcoin and they own a store then one wouldn't need to encourage them to accept it, they would do it by themselves. See what I mean?

I'm known and respected in the Bitcoin community guys, look me up in the OTC WoT.
Is your rating better or worse than pirateat40's rating?

Not bad, only took you 6 months to reply to this post.
No, I will not delete the post. Even if that is true, and you just "changed your nick for lulz" like you said on your PM to me, next time think about how lulzy it must be to have all your money stolen before doing such a stunt.
And you didn't changed the nick as openly as you want us to believe.

I only need like, 6 or 7 BTC for my purposes, but MtGox has prohibitively high funds transfer rates, also sending money international from my bank costs like $35.
Maybe you should try some other exchange.

Thank you to Rotsor & Hostfat for the homepage translations. Any translators feel free to change the link on the homepage to your own website.
Which link are you talking about? I may give it a go at the Potuguese translation now that the Bitcoin client is 100% on Portuguese. Tomorrow only because now it's almost 3AM and the whisky is starting to do it's thing lol

All I can say is awesome, that means I can switch to a new address as often as I want. (Well, I knew I could do that, but I didn't know that I didn't have to make a new wallet every time I used a different address.) Sweet. In fact it is recommended you use a different address for every incoming transaction, for 2 reasons. 1- To track better who paid you what 2- To improve anonymity

Too bad it's a f***** google machine translation Really, people should stop doing this.

Your wallet can have an infinite number of addresses(not really, but almost, because you won't be able to generate all possible bitcoin addresses)

... I surprised nobody posted this, given that I explicitly said that people could say that I was the one who requested the ban...
I read it as you giving permission to Theymos to disclose it to Rarity, not to someone else to disclose it to other forum users.

If those adresses are on the Receive Tab, they're all yours. Choose one of them.

DMCA are applicable only to zionist USA and puppet states.
Tor hidden service have no accountability, that's why the DMCA and national security letters are ridiculed on front page.
Yes, what makes me think is that there aren't any popular filehosting sites taking advantage of the legislation in Russia. There are some. rghost, letitbit, and at least 5 or 6 more that I can't remember the name, but they aren't used much on the Western Internet. Hotfile is the product of a Russian, but it is/was registered in Panama. Well as for rghost they have a "abuse" link which directs to an email address. With letitbit there is a specific mention of DMCA with the usual complementary form. It seems at least letitbit is engaging in voluntary corporation with content management firms. What's the deal? I must admit I've seen letitbit links, some of them went down too. See here: http://letitbit.net/ip_policy.phpletitbit.net (including but not limited to websites under such as letitbit.net) is an internet service provider as defined by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. section 512 ("DMCA") and as such, letitbit.net complies with all provisions of the DMCA and copyright law including Intellectual Property Rights. letitbit.net responds promptly to claims of copyright infringement reported to its designated copyright agent. letitbit.net shall accommodate and not interfere with standard technical measures (as defined by the DMCA) used to identify and protect copyrighted works and shall disable access to or remove content that it believes in good faith may infringe the copyrights of third parties as well as discontinue service to users who repeatedly make such content available or otherwise violate letitbit.net's Terms of Service.
letitbit.net has a zero tolerance approach towards copyright infringement, as such, we ask that you do not abuse the letitbit.net service by using it to distribute materials to which you do not have legal rights or authorization.
Should you have good faith belief that your copyright has been uploaded without your permission or authorization we suggest you send letitbit.net's registered agent a DMCA Notice of Copyright Infringement. Well, letitbit wants to make money and in this type of business that's only possible by having US costumers, so they must bend backwards and let them do what they want. As for rghost, I really doubt sending an email to them will serve any purpose. I've never seen one of their links down, and they're a filehoster made for "the scene", IMO. What teels me that, you may ask... They look inside rar/zip files and read the nfo's, if there are any and post the info on the download pages lol Example: http://rghost.net/users/dj-tgb/releases/bobsinclar-djsforfunacousticsession-promocd-2009-somAltho I see now they're going the torrent way. Haven't downloaded a file from there in a long time. Things change. Interesting page of theirs: http://rghost.net/releases LMAO

I have OSX 10.5, why is it no longer supported? I have run into a few programs that are no longer supported on my "older" OSX, it is just a few years old. This is very frustrating, I suppose it is time to upgrade my computer anyway. Why not just update your OS instead of the whole computer? The newer OSX operating systems apparently will not run on my computer? Oh gawd... Gotta love Apple lol

Emailed them, got a nice response : 1. We quoted from an official policy statement that this should be the case when transactions have multiple sending addresses. Adi Shamir and Dorit Ron Official policy statement? Whose statement, of what policy, and what makes it official? The Bitcoin Foundation?

I have a page which I need to push a bit up in the google search. I know that it would be very easy, since I had it on the first line for years, using very simple instruments for that. But I don't want to dedicate my time for it any more and am ready to pay for the service with bitcoins. Is there any body desiring to work with me on the project?
I may be able to help you. Send me some more details on PM. Maybe give me your jabber/gtalk/msn addy and I will see what I can do for you after we talk a bit.

delete all empty addresses from the wallet?
Easier said than done. I have no idea what I'm looking at in that text. I was saying delete them on blockchain.info, to be able to import more. You'd also need to remove the ones imported previously from the json file, as not to import them again. I don't think that's going to work. I don't fully understand everything I'm looking at in the json file, but every time there is a value: there is actually a non-zero value in there. So, I think all of my private keys have some btc in them. Oh well. I'm just going to use another machine to install the Satoshi client on and then transfer them to blockchain. Thanks for all the help, though. It's been educational. The wallet dump provided by pywallet doesn't give you the address balances, at least not on the part where it lists the pub and priv keys. But the blockchain.info wallet gives you each address balance. You can simply archive the ones with no balance and delete them after archiving them, giving you leeway to import more addresses. You'll just need to remove the previously imported addresses from the json file, as not to import them again. For example, if you managed to import 399 addresses, giving that each address takes 6 lines on the json file you can easily calculate the beginning line and ending line of the addresses that were imported and delete all in between those lines, leaving only addresses which weren't imported the first time. Rinse and repeat until no more addresses left. You must also take into account that the walletdump contains all transactions ever made from and to your addresses and your address book, and that part can safely be deleted before trying to import the private keys as it is not needed and only makes the json file bigger and more complicated for you to read. Ofcourse all this may be a little over your head, and if it is, you better not mess much with it lol
