221  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Top 2 cryptocurrency exchange on: February 09, 2024, 10:29:44 PM
Crypto currencies exchange following some online transactions has been exposed to scammers and high charges. The Nigeria banks for example takes a huge percentage to transaction fees especially when it is Bitcoin transaction.

Cryptocurrency exchange are exposed to hackers and not high charges. They're not exposed to scammers neither as their platform has centralized feature to make it almost Impossible for scammers to take advantage off. Scamming are happening off the exchange and not on the exchange unless you're using a decentralized exchanges that the site has been compromised. The Nigeria banks or other banks don't have any charges when it comes to Bitcoin transactions, if was until recently that the government lifted their ban on banks to do business with crypto traders so nothing of such like banks taking a fees has happend in Nigeria.

Quote
Though I haven't had more knowledge on this Bitcoin transactions but from my research today I found two cryptocurrency exchanges which are ranked as the top two currency exchange.

This says it all, next time try to have some knowledge from a proper research so you don't mislead others with your post. Bitcoin transaction fees goes to the miners and not banks and we have many popular exchanges that gives services to all part of the word. We have centralized and decentralization exchanges with big volumes so there's no point limiting exchange to only top two. I don't see a reason why we should be discussing only top two exchanges.

Coinbase exchange isn't big in Africa and especially Nigeria. We have other exchange that are of high volume and customer service than coinbase and I'll probable rank them in the top position than coinbase because coinbase is mainly for US citizens.

224  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Financial advise from a self acclaimed crypto investment professional. on: February 04, 2024, 11:21:16 AM
What do you think about this financial advice from a self acclaimed crypto investment professional telling newbies not to consider investing in the top 100 cryptos of which bitcoin is included, if they want to make profit?

It is actually funny that she will be giving that type of advice, I won't be surprised if on the next slide she's shilling a project she's the owner, partner or have already bought some bags and looking for exit liquidity. When I see advice like this what always comes to my mind is that the adviser is selfish and only wants to make money for himself. If she was wise she would have put all that money into Bitcoin and hodl. Give it 10 years or more and she will be happy she bought Bitcoin.

The altcoin she's refering to mightn't make it out of the bottom that they're located. Does she know how many cryptocurrency that we have and how many are dying daily. New ones are also being created so what is she actually advising her followers, they should start chasing after newly created altcoins that are more of a risk then the already established ones. She's using $10,000 as the max so let say someone has that to invest. Why will you risk all that to scammers disguise as project founders instead of investing that amount into Bitcoin and be guaranteed you can double or more your money when Bitcoin gets a new ATH.

Newbie beware that most so called crypto advisor don't have your best interests at mind, they're only after what they can benefits from your ignorance. Anybody that tells you that altcoins are more of a better investment than Bitcoin doesn't want your success in the industry.
225  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Make reading a habit on: February 04, 2024, 11:03:15 AM
A forum senior member told me he could not do without login to the forum for just a week, he say that he is going to hear a little guilty voice that speaks to him and he  said he is already use to it he also told me without reading it  just feels like the end of the world for him…

That's forum addiction and addiction are mostly bad, get a life outside the forum don't build your whole life on the forum. Doing so isn't good for your health and for your social life. I'm not saying you shouldn't spend time on the forum but don't make it become something you have to do everytime. Take some vacation, the forum mightn't last till eternity so you have to be prepared for that when it happens. Just as (you know what) was taken out of the forum, signature can go as well or the forum shutting down too so I always encourage forum members to have a life outside the forum.

Quote
Most newbie’s  like me don’t understand what is means by reading  to understand please with your more understanding can you explain it to us???
I gist this thread will be useful to newbie’s  like me and some other members out there as well to.

This should just be general knowledge, if you don't read you won't get new information and you won't be up to date with the affairs of the forum and also the crypto industry. Reading adds more knowledge to what you already know and makes you informed so it isn't a rocket science. For newbies or other forum members to contribute to topics being discussed on the forum, you have to be well sounded on those topic or you'll be spamming which reduces your chances of getting meriting and ranking up.
226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for acquiring bitcoins. on: February 04, 2024, 09:31:35 AM
What is the essence of buying and hodling Bitcoin like is it to accumulate it till it attains ATH then we sell it off and wait for a dip and start buying and holdling again or just accumulate it and start using it as a digital means of exchange or are we going to continue till the 21 million Bitcoins have be mined, already 19 millions have been mined remaining 2 million because overtime, i have come across several topics about buy and hodl bitcoin so i actually wish to know the sole objective of acquiring bitcoins.

I believe this has to be a personal reason aside from the general reason which is to make profits from acquiring Bitcoin. People are acquiring Bitcoin as a collection, they're acquiring Bitcoin to pass it to their heirs. Bitcoin is the new breakout technique and it still has a lot of years ahead to give profits to those that are acquired Bitcoin. The more Bitcoin gets popular the more the value will increase and adoption also increase. Acquiring Bitcoin puts you in a position to benefits form all the attention Bitcoin will be getting as the currency gains more acceptance.

Bitcoin increases in value as the years goes by and the more Bitcoin you have the higher your ROI (return of investment) will be. Bitcoin is a scarce assets, there's only going to be 21 millions so people who understand the power of scarcity knows the role that can play in the price of Bitcoin in the future when it gets more adoption. Reasons for acquiring Bitcoin would vary for each person but the underlying reason is because they all want to make profits from the future Bitcoin price increase.
227  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Social media is a breeding ground for scamers, be intelligent while you explore on: February 04, 2024, 09:09:03 AM
I got inspired to draft this topic after seeing so many scam airdrops that was promoted on  X formally known as Twitter, so many fake telegram group that are impersonating the original telegram group of other successful project, and  many fake investment groups on Facebook. Some of these groups or fake ads looks very real to the extent that  real newbies who have zero experiences about crypto can fall victim unless they are guided by experienced investors.

Ignorance isn't an excuse, you're a newbie doesn't mean the scammers will spare you, you're their targeted audience. They keep bringing the same tricks often because they know that new members are coming in the industry often and they won't be informed. As a newbie, get to know the in and out of the industry, read and learn so you don't wish you did exactly that when you have been scammed. This is an unregulated industry, anything is possible here and the culprits go unpunished often because the industry isn't regulated.

Social media is the breading ground for all scams both those relating to cryptocurrency and other monetary business. We don't have to believe everything we see on the web and only join the official groups through the website of the project and not relying on social media handles as they're also getting hacked quite often this days.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making informed decisions is our responsibility on: February 04, 2024, 08:56:04 AM
It Is important and for our own good that we dopt a culture of continuous learning and upgrading our selves, by staying informed we would not only protect ourselves, but also increase our chances of success, there are countless reasons why making informed decision is good, but action on this solely is our responsibility and only we can make those decisions for ourselves, yes indeed the community is here to help you, but at times before you know it your already and victim. knowledge is power, and it's up to us to harness it for our benefit.

Being on the forum puts us at an advantage over other users in the crypto system that aren't here. You get first hand information on the forum that'll help you to make informed decisions. Nothing is left out when discussing on the forum. You get both the pros and cons of any information that you need which will later help you in your decision making. We're in an industry that needs us to be constantly up to date or we'll fall prey to scammers that'll use our ignorance to defraud us.

We're responsible for our finances in this industry so we ought to be informed always on new developments to help protect ourselves from scams. Scammers aren't resting, they're always looking for new ways to defraud their victim so we ought to be alert and use the later security measures to protect ourselves.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Psychology of Investing in Bitcoin on: February 03, 2024, 11:27:17 PM
I don't think there is anything as Hodler for life; we don't buy bitcoins to hold them for the rest of our lives; they are not meant to be bought and held permanently in our wallets; they are not decorations; they are there to serve a purpose.

There are wallets that haven't moved the Bitcoin they bought since decade ago, you could say it's because they have forgotten their private key but that can't be true in all situations. Some of the Investors still have access to their Bitcoin but they're hodling them as generationally inheritance. People are buying Bitcoin for their grandchildren because they have no need for the profits they're getting, they're already rich. People are stashing Bitcoin as collection (collectables) because they know Bitcoin has a limited supply. Not everyone wants to invest in Bitcoin and take profits every little chances that they get.

Quote
I like the idea of buying and holding for a long time, and when I see the time to take profit, I sell and take profit from what I hold. Even if I don't sell, I can still sell and keep some rebuy at the right time, and all of that, even if it takes someone 10 years before they can sell their holdings, it's still not a holding for life.

If you have other source of income that is giving you enough money to take care of yourself by providing for your need and also being able to cover up for your wants, you won't be tempted to touch your Bitcoin. The average job is into Bitcoin for profit so they have to sell every chance that they get but we have those in for the long game and they mightn't sell the Bitcoin they acquired until death comes although their heir will eventually sell the Bitcoin when they're in need of money.
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin ETF really the best to hold? on: February 03, 2024, 10:30:26 PM
I still don't understand why one would prefer owning an ETF rather than holding the true thing (Bitcoin).
Bitcoin ETF is more expensive to hold with fee ranging from 0.2% to 1.5% than one holding the real Bitcoin
Not to mention unlike Bitcoin, it isn't permissionless nor does it provide any private key that shows one is the sole owner.

People are used to not being in charge of their finances so the Bitcoin spot ETF give them that same feeling. They want others to be incharge of their finances since they can trust their ability to protect their finances if they're in control of it. We have been used to the banks and bankers holding and managing our money so most people will always find safety in centralization. Bitcoin been irreversible make people scared that they might lose their Bitcoin to hackers if they take control of their private key.

Secondly some people are just busy, they want to invest in Bitcoin but don't want to handle any risk so investing in Bitcoin ETF is the best option for them. Many people still don't understand Bitcoin to be a decentralized currency, they only see it as a means to secure their wealth and to increase their wealth too. They see Bitcoin as more of an investment so they only care about the profits that they'll getting when they invest into Bitcoin through Bitcoin spot ETF.

Bitcoin spot ETF isn't the best to hodl, hold the real Bitcoin in a non constodial wallet that you own the private key. Hodling Bitcoin ETF is just like holding Bitcoin on exchanges or on centralized platforms as you don't own those Bitcoin but just a digital representation of the Bitcoin.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of Bitcoin in a Cashless Society on: February 03, 2024, 10:18:12 PM
Also, given countries and states are not one with the whole, then this seems to be impossible on the same extent. Still a long way for this industry in general but glad that progress is visible to this industry and blockchain in general.

Two countries have already adopted bitcoin as their legal tender, if two countries can do this then there's nothing stopping other countries from doing the same. It'll take just one world power country for everything tp change in the favour of Bitcoin. Let say Russia accept Bitcoin as their legal tender, other countries would follow. I didn't use US as an example because that looks very impossible to happen but other counties can make Bitcoin their official currency and things will change from there. The world tends to follow a trend, Bitcoin is steadily getting global adoption as more things that looked Impossible in the past are becoming a reality like Bitcoin spot ETF.

Quote
Banks are now introducing their own coins which could be a conflict with the viewpoint that Bitcoin will be the center of transactions in the future. There are many possible chages that could take place as this industry grows. But I agree, co-existence would be more likely to take place no matter how I view it than to have a single currency which did not even happen in the first place.

Bitcoin was invented as an alternative to fiats currency and not as a replacement so they can coexist. Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) won't work as the future of money because everything is pointing towards Bitcoin. The institutional investors are coming into the market very fast and the introduction of Bitcoin spot ETF would make things more faster and soon they might dominate the whole industry. Bitcoin is going to be the face of the cashless society but before that happens alot of things has to be improved within the Blockchain like the transaction fees and congestion on the Blockchain before Bitcoin becomes a mainstream accepted currency.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies on: February 03, 2024, 09:54:39 PM
Average citizens do not actually see bitcoin as a long term and life changing investment, but more of a short term lived and after that, it will suddenly vanish and replace with something new in the market.

Unfortunately they'll witness how great Bitcoin will become and they won't be part of the beneficiaries of Bitcoin profits. Anybody having the thought of Bitcoin being a short term investment assets won't benefit fully from Bitcoin. You get more benefits when you're a hodler. The average person still thinks Bitcoin is a scam and online scammers are those making use of it. The government aren't helping as they're contributing to the negative publicity that Bitcoin is getting but everything is temporary as the true nature of Bitcoin will come out to the public eventually.

Quote
However, even if bitcoin becomes the trend in the internet these days, it’s still a safe idea to make your own research about it. Don’t be carried away by the different stories of the people that have engaged with bitcoin, some might be overrated that one may start doubting it if it’s actually real or not.

Carrying out your personal investigation before investing into any assets is vital, when Bitcoin stories get overrated with too good to be true stories, there's always an agenda behind such stories and in most cases, the story teller is trying to sell his altcoins or other projects that he's involved in. People have made unbelievable gains from investing in Bitcoin but don't believe everything you read on the web as the web is full of lies and lasting what the average man thinks about Bitcoin can always change as they get to understand Bitcoin more better.
233  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Making wise use of your crypto finance on: February 02, 2024, 11:34:10 PM
Someone gave me a parable saying, Don't live in comfort in your youthful age and suffer when you are old rather invest and suffer in your youthful age to prepare for your old age. Young people should not only go after enjoyment and lavishing but also invest 80% of your outcome and you won't regret it.

You can invest all your money and still go broke at your old age because you invested in the wrong things. Life no supposed hard, you no suppose suffer at your youth age to enjoy at your old ages. You can enjoy now but at a minimum, just live a comfortable life wey be say you no dey over spend anyhow because you dey invest the excess for better businesses like Bitcoin. Live in a comfortable area to avoid some security problem wey a good environment go help you avoid. Arrange yourself and start up a family at a young age so you go get alot of time to grow with your family.

Secure as many Bitcoin as you fit because na him get the most guarantee for this market wey we dey so, other investments na just gamble wey be say if e work for you, you thank God and use the profits to buy more Bitcoin and investing into other businesses like owning landed properties especially land wey you fit sell anytime sapa hold you tight to use see front. Avoid clubbing or do it in a minimum wey you no go dey spend money wey you supposed dey invest for another man business wey no dey give you any benefits.

Denied yourself some pleasure but no deny yourself a good life, you see that money wey you dey do like you dey save for future, you fit no see that future but we don't pray for that. As you dey invest, dey alright too.
234  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What makes BTC stronger. on: February 02, 2024, 10:36:19 PM
Again if no be say some cash App dn dey allow sending and receiving of cash easily now na BTC being dey very easy to work with. Other limitation wey BTC being get dn dey resolve small small. most government dn dey support BTC and other Altcoin for the country.

Healthy competition dey bring growth to the world, the best one go win at the end of the day. Many cash app fit dey come out but none of dem are comparable to Bitcoin because of the things wey you dun talk and so many other things dem. Bitcoin dey decentralized wey be say no governments dey control am. Bitcoin isn't reversible wey be say scammers no fit take advantage of am to use scam you after you dun complete work for them and they ask for reversal by complaining to the providers of the cash app and reporting you as a scammer.

What makes Bitcoin stronger is because it's controlled by the community and not by a elite group of people like the banks and other centralized currency providers are being controlled by them. Bitcoin transactions are being approval by miners and not a group of bankers. Bitcoin is actually backed by mathematics and not fiats that isn't backed by anything but the words of the central banks managers. This one dey make dem fit print money anyhow dem like because dem know say nobody go fit question them.

What makes Bitcoin stronger is because Bitcoin was created to solve the problems were having with the fiat system, if the fiat currency no be get problem, we won't have had Bitcoin being introduced to us by satoshi himself. Bitcoin still get some limitations but the developers are working to bring a solution to the shortcomings and things will be up and running very soon.
235  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How to make Naija people show more interest for Bitcoin? on: February 02, 2024, 10:02:30 PM
To make Naija people show interest for Bitcoin, show dem how e fit give dem money and financial freedom. Share success stories and teach dem simple steps to buy and use Bitcoin.

The devaluation of the Naira supposed tell Nigerians say dem need to dey invest their money for wetin go not only secure their wealth but appreciate am. Dollars dey increase everyday so if we fit get our hands on investment that are evaluated in dollars e go make sense. Bitcoin na one of the most accessible investments wey dey currently so e go just make sense to invest inside. Bitcoin get other benefits but the focus now na the price appreciation and wealth security wey e go fit give any money wey you put inside.

Nigerians normally need to show interest and they're doing that already, you no need to tell anybody because we all dey find wetin go favour us and when you see a currency like Bitcoin wey just get everything inside am you no suppose need person to tell you to invest inside. If you dey wait for person to put water inside your mouth after you dey see the river for your front then you no serious to fight poverty.

To preach Bitcoin, keep using Bitcoin and your life will do the marketing or advertisement for you. The best way to show both Nigerians and everybody to use Bitcoin is to show them the importance to freedom and decentralization and people go pick interest on their own when they're tired of the too much centralization of the fiat currency in the world.
236  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Difference between bitcoin investment and trading on exchange on: February 02, 2024, 09:46:46 PM
And then to trade for exchange na the process way be say person dey buy and sell bitcoin for digital market way be say you fit use different local currencies or alternative coins to exchange for Bitcoin. This one like this na Short term  deals  way be say you fit profit fast fast from small market movements.

Bitcoin investment and trading go fit be long term and also short term, you can choose to be a short term investors and also a long term trader. E get traders wey they open short or long position for very long time and dem be traders and not investors while we also get people wey dey invest for only short term and they sell. Everything depends on our mentality, for example as Bitcoin spot ETF was rumoured to be getting approved before it got approval, e get people wey being buy Bitcoin in anticipation say the price go rise and dem go sell to make profits so dem been invest inside Bitcoin with a short term investment mentality.

Quote
Other difference way I go like us to consider na the risk and the skills way they required for both of them, for bitcoin investment the risk dey smaller than the risk way dey when you they trade for exchange because investment na to buy and hold over a long period, while trading on exchange get bigger risk based on the fact say na Short term deals so any fast change in price fit affect.

That one dey and also the stress wey you need to follow as a trader. Sha when you start e fit dey stressful but the more you get familiar with within you dey do, you go begin dey enjoy am and E fit no dey stress you again but still you no fit use trading compare with investing. Investing fit give you generational wealth wey be say you no go hustle again for your life but trading go make you get short term mentality and you go miss the opportunity way you for dun use get financial freedom from your investments. Investments sure pass trading so make that side dey be our focus. No just depend on Bitcoin to dey get cashflow money but invest and give it time for am to mature so when you dey sell, na better cashout go dey enter your pocket.
237  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Which one dey pain pass? on: February 02, 2024, 09:31:36 PM
I ask dis question to no which one dey pain us pass wen ever it happen to us, your coins disappear from your wallet and u by mistake send your coins to wrong address which one dey pain pass?

You can avoid experiencing this two scenarios, when you coin disappears from your wallet it means your wallets has been compromised and what makes wallets gets compromised is when you exposed your wallet seed phrase to hackers either through logging into a malicious site or storing your seed phrase online. To prevent experiencing this kind thing na to save your sensitive information wey you fit use access your wallet very well.

Sending coins to a wrong address dey happen well well because people no dey careful, dem dey forget say cryptocurrency aren't reversible especially when you dey deal with Bitcoin. Make we dey double check our address before we send coins and make we no dey store address outside the platforms or wallets. Anytime wey you wan send coin, go to the direct source to get the address and copy. After you verify again say the address correct before you send.

There's no benefits in losing our Bitcoin or altcoins so make we dey careful when we dey run transaction make we no go dey be the people wey others go dey use learn. Make we self dey learn from others and avoid losses too.
238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Factors to consider before joining paid signature campaigns. on: February 01, 2024, 08:37:36 AM
Anyway, I have started working on translating this thread for my locals. I hope I will finish the translation soon.

Let me start from here because I'll be looking forward to your translation, hoping to see it soon.

Quote
There was a time when I also wrote ten posts a day but not on the gambling boards. I used to write in the several boards of the forum.

I believe writing 10 posts per day shouldn't be considered spamming provided what you're writing is adding value to the thread you're discussing on and the the forum in general. I write 10 post part day very often and I won't consider them spamming irrespective or them being on the gambling board (which I used to do before but can't remember when last I wrote there). There are users writing quality post on the gambling board and not all members there are spamming so we shouldn't be generalising although there are high chances of seeing spammers on the board because it's very easy to communicate over there.

Quote
Now the reason I have quoted this part, I believe two of your campaigns contradict this point. I don't want to mention the campaign name but those campaigns allow users to write up to 60 posts and they are going to get paid for all those posts. More importantly, Tier E encourages spam in the forum. You may have a different point of view. But, I believe this is also a fact.

I was surprised nobody has questions this part but I'm glad you did. As I said earlier 10 post per day on the forum isn't spam and many members are doing that frequently including myself. 10*6 that's 60 and that's the maximum required for my campaigns. Is that high yes but you're not mandated to write up to that amount. Many campaigns has paid upto 50 posts including the great chipmixer campaign and we didn't discredit the campaign because they didn't mandate the participants to write 50 posts and I'm also not mandating my participatants to write that. A look at the both spreadsheet and you'll see that many participants aren't writing the maximum. Everybody is doing the best they can and as for spamming the forum, alot of users has been removed from the campaign and posts also getting denied, this isn't a complete solution but whoever is spamming and get reported gets an automatic removal. Getting a neutral  (not even a red) also gets you removed for spamming.

PS: If participating in my campaigns is going to turn you into a spammer avoid them and apply for other campaigns with less weekly quota.
239  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: 2024 some people still dy mine shit coin on: January 30, 2024, 06:33:39 PM
This guy  was like, so this kind thing dy go on for we country, him e dy busy dy mine pi, from last week till now, I no fit rest again for this guy calls, the kind pressure this guy dy take follow me up eh, somehow I see am as disturbance, but I dy still feel happy and motivated say I give am update wey fit change him life.

To me this buying of btc daily, weekly or monthly na update wey we no sopos carry play.

No blame the guy, alot of people no dey informed yet. E get people wey dey think say cryptocurrency na all about those airdrops and mining wey people dey do and send links everywhere dey find referrals. Dem no know say you can do crypto on your without having to refer anyone but just dey buy your cryptocurrency dey trade or hodl depending on wetin your strategy be to tackle the market and make profits. Some people need passive income (dey wan dey chop directly from crypto and not using it as a capital gain kind of investment).

E no bad to get that kind mentality but e go make sense more to use the industry for capital gain wey you go buy Bitcoin and hodl but for people wey dey find active gains na trading wey fit dey give them profits regularly if dem sabi wetin dem dey do, I no go recommend trading for any novices because no be wetin any how person go just dey do. If you no get ideas on trading no enter crypto trading because the volatility wey dey the market fit unstable your and you lose wetin no good.

This is 2024 ponzi schemes still dey active so make e no shock you when you see people dey mine coins, their hope na say dem fit get luck make the coin list for exchange dem go make profits. This mining just dey like this airdrops wey dey trend everywhere. You no go even know which one go blow but if you get luck you go make better profits.
