Evidence of the main person behind the dump? Sound like this gecko fella?

Screenshot of cryptrader.com "mentions" window.

Probably Gekko, which isn't too bad.

Drop it down some more Gekko, I'll buy you at 0.005  Cool

How does BTC XT rebellion effect altcoins generally and Unobtanium specifically?  I'm not sure if it effects merge mining with $UNO or not?

I think the following:
If Bitcoin goes down it takes LTC with it and most alts also - until a certain point. Once it becomes obvious to all market participants that bitcoin drops due to the hardfork LTC could well rise very high and take alts with it. So i would expect for alts to drop to a degree with bitcoin (we are already seeing it) but to go opposite direction after a certain point (sub 200$ btc).

As for mining uno: The BTC network will have significant hashrate even on 5$ btc price so that's not a big concern for Uno imo. Maybe people even start buying uno instead of btc later which could make it go high enough to be worthwhile mining on its own again - maybe. Otherwise if Btc fails a new coin will emerge and Uno could merge with that then. If the new coin isn't sha256 and btc would fail that would make uno the biggest sha network anyways and where would all the old hashhardware go if not to uno?
I personally don't fear for Uno in this situation. Uno is all well. Bitcoin is the one in trouble but still won't die off over night and if it does Uno won't be a looser in that after the dust settles.

For now i am scared out of BTC but not out of alts Wink

Have there been any efforts to get UNO on Poloniex?

Yes there has been a little. Nothing so far but keep bugging them! Polo would be nice. More exchanges, always better. Don't forget bleutrade and cryptopia to show some love sometimes so it's not so empty on those books  Wink
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is There A Way To Increase Blocksize And Keep Bitcoin Core?? on: August 19, 2015, 05:53:27 AM
If there is… why aren't just doing that? This Bitcoin XT stuff is freaking me out, especially now that it has come to light that Bitcoin XT might be sneakily adding in features like blacklisting and not making those public. If the core issue at hand is just the need to increase the block sizes so that we can handle scaling up if adoption increases, isn't there a way to do that and still keep Bitcoin Core? Why don't we just do that???  Huh

The only thing you can do is pushing on core team to scale bitcoin ASAP.

Or pushing Mike and Gavin to leave the space asap. I think we should do both ...
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is There A Way To Increase Blocksize And Keep Bitcoin Core?? on: August 19, 2015, 05:52:05 AM
Yes, there is a way. Why aren't we doing it? I think we are and we should. Gavin just chose to ignore the consensus process and try a hostile takeover to become the benevolent dictator of bitcoin (this is actually not exaggerated).

The problem is: everyone is paying too much attention to and giving that attempt of a hostile takeover with a rogue software too much credit.

XT is very simple Gavins' way to circumvent consensus principles in the devteam.
All this isn't even about the blocksize. Blocksize is just the fassade for a blatant hostile takeover attempt. Blocks aren't even half full right now.
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT has code which downloads your IP address to facilitate blacklisting on: August 19, 2015, 05:44:04 AM
knight22 about "market needs" LOL

He's gonna eat his words when we hit sub 100$

Exactly people like this try to pull the whool over everyones' eyes and will continue to do so to the very last minute.
227  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price FLASH CRASH! on: August 19, 2015, 05:23:34 AM
I don't understand, why selling pre-fork coins now? I just bought some cheap coins. Even there is a fork in near future, I would reserve the right to sell the coins on the chain that I don't like

At that time if you are in wrong fork, your coins may disappear. That is the main reason for panic selling.

Where did you get that information? How is that possible?

doesn't matter if it's true or not, as long as people think that, they will dump

It's a PR mess of course. But all this was very predictable.
228  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price FLASH CRASH! on: August 19, 2015, 05:21:02 AM
Man, this shit is all over the news. "Bitcoin split" yadda, yadda.

Bitcoin is officially in a crisis now. People will not buy it so your liquidity could be gone pretty quick. Think again if you want to hold it out.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Moving into LTC until XT issue is resolved? As a safe haven? on: August 19, 2015, 04:43:40 AM

At this point ALL crypto is tied to the success / demise of bitcoin ... therefore price as well.

Repeating it over and over doesn't make it more true. If bitcoin dies due to technical failure there will be other cryptocurrencies to fill the void - instantly.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Moving into LTC until XT issue is resolved? As a safe haven? on: August 19, 2015, 04:35:26 AM
Pre-fork coins are your safe heaven, since you will have both core coin and XT coin after the fork, and reserve the right to dump one of them when you see fit

Nobody cares.

---------------

@Litecoin

I think LTC/BTC will hold up, though the LTC/USD rate could suffer shortterm. But longterm , especially if the fork goes wrong LTC will go to the moon. Even if the fork does not go wrong (unlikely), bitcoin would die soon thereafter from spam and would be abandoned due to bloat, bad PR, bad block propagation and unrealistic bandwidth requirements. So LTC wins one way or another longterm.

I sold most my btc today. I have some leftover btc on the altcoin exchanges for trading alts. The money i took out from btc today will not come back. It goes towards alts and gold and will stay there longterm. FUCK GAVIN, FUCK MIKE; FUCK BLACKLISTING; FUCK BLACKMAIL-FORKS

500 altcoins to choose from...
gold is a solid investement too

We don't need no stinkin Gavincoin.

There is so much space in all these altchains - no blocksize raise would be riquired in any of them ever.

231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Shall we start selling all of our Bitcoins fast? on: August 19, 2015, 04:31:45 AM
You can take Gavincoin and insert it vertically into your anus. Thank you for your attention. Over.
232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did Jared hack Bitfinex? on: August 19, 2015, 04:29:43 AM
Who is Jarek? Why does everyone think finex did fuck up? Either it was a margin-raid or just a whale dumping on Gavincoin. More Gavin-dumps to come.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price FLASH CRASH! on: August 19, 2015, 04:16:13 AM
I wish the Winklevoss twins would make a statement about this to calm stuff down.   Undecided

Lol who gives a shit what they think

They are probably too busy dumping on finex to make statements right now ...
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price FLASH CRASH! on: August 19, 2015, 03:58:49 AM
The bitcoin price is not crashed. The actual value is the value that it has until 7 months (with the normal ups and downs). Never in his story the bitcoin price it was so stabilized. So I don't think your that your fear is justified.

Yes, everyone keep calm and watch your bankroll shrink. Good advice! Everyone keep calm while i be panicselling over here!
235  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price FLASH CRASH! on: August 19, 2015, 03:55:52 AM

Can we imagine Crypto Currencies without Bitcoin?

I absolutely can.

I don't understand, why selling pre-fork coins now? I just bought some cheap coins. Even there is a fork in near future, I would reserve the right to sell the coins on the chain that I don't like

selling pre-fork coins now because people going to panic later and once fork occures the coins are worthless already of course - not after the fact but beforehand.
You might find it strange that people prefer their money over having "twice as many coins"
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price FLASH CRASH! on: August 19, 2015, 03:51:20 AM
Gavincoin into your anus

The rekt is real.
Shit's going to be sold down very far imo. No buyers, just sellers.

You cult follwers going to learn the hard way that blockspace isn't scarce at all...
237  Economy / Speculation / Re: $162 Bitfinex [2015-AUG-18] on: August 19, 2015, 02:32:38 AM
Holy smokes! Volatility is back! I expected a down turn with all the XT nonsense but I never thought it would go this low. Hope some people here were able to get some coins below $200.

XT is going to bring the market to its knees, no doubt. I have orders sitting in low double digits.

Demand for Bitcoin should pretty much collapse imo cuz nobody is that mad buying in this situation except these 5 to 10 hardcore bagholders on this board. Good luck holding up that marketcap with your 5 friends. Time to realize you have been ripped off by Gavin.
238  Economy / Speculation / Re: $162 Bitfinex [2015-AUG-18] on: August 19, 2015, 02:29:10 AM
Price gonna keep dropping all the way to double digits due to the threat of forking it in two chains.

Can't fool the market with that crap. Could well be the end of Bitcoin if stuff gets out of hand - and it is already.

Maybe you should educate yourself a bit more about the whole XT thing...
I thought exactly like you, turns out i was very ignorant of what was actually going on..

I know very good about Gavincoin and how full of shit this community is. No need to educate me.

on topic: finex was a whale rage quit obviously. Not finex fault or insider stuff imo. Normal trading action. A whale just dumped on ya and more to come.

In the wrong chain?, if you freeze your coins now you will be IN BOTH CHAINS.

Why would you want twice as much worthless coins?
