I think Theymos does the correct thing. The XT stuff gets out of hand. It spreads FUD for bitcoin in massive amounts. It's annoying and causes attrition. These XT-fools claim to be a majority but are in reality just some 10% to 30% of people. I think they got their point across. Time to give them their own sub maybe? I for one am very annoyed by these discussions about XT. Will never switch and would dump on an adoption of said crap.

Maybe someone sued him over something and that's why he's less active?

Unobtanium, because it will not be disrupted by technolocial innovation, the network will be solid for very long due to merged mining with btc. It's so very rare i don't have to worry about a lot. 5 years from now it normally should have apreciated a decent bit. Network is ultra efficient.

This topic is in the wrong place btw. Belongs into altcoin subforum.

Actually after the fork we are going to see interesting things as, as if I had 1 BTC before the fork I'll have 1 BTC and 1 XBTC after the fork with the same value. So, I can trade both for let's say LTC and when the war ended I'll have 2 BTC/XBTC worth LTC . Pretty straightforward way to double my holdings for free . There is no such thing as 'free money' or a winner in this ...well ... except maybe LTC ...

Maybe it helps to metion that BW possibly left the building?

Who the fuck is this 'Mike' anyways? And why should anyone care about him?

lol @ Prototanium market. Since when is a testnetcoin branded and encouraged to trade? You people amaze me.
So what's this now? The step-child-coin? LOL
I think it's DOA but was worth a try, wasn't it? lmao
.. on the other hand maybe we can use them as a tool to fund developement? Just give lots of Proto to Blazr2 and whenever you feel like donating to him you just put a buyorder at the Proto market up. This way donations for developement do not put sellpressure on the Uno market which would be an advantage. Just keep in mind: Proto shoud be free... Putting a higher price on it than 'free' is risky - but probably fun for pocketchange. Probably going to stay a tiny market floating on 10$ total buysupport.

http://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2015-August/010238.htmlhoax? real? you decide bitcoin-dev Bitcoin XT Fork
Satoshi Nakamoto satoshi at vistomail.com Sat Aug 15 17:43:54 UTC 2015 Previous message: [bitcoin-dev] Bitcoin XT 0.11A Next message: [bitcoin-dev] Bitcoin XT Fork Messages sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] I have been following the recent block size debates through the mailing list. I had hoped the debate would resolve and that a fork proposal would achieve widespread consensus. However with the formal release of Bitcoin XT 0.11A, this looks unlikely to happen, and so I am forced to share my concerns about this very dangerous fork.
The developers of this pretender-Bitcoin claim to be following my original vision, but nothing could be further from the truth. When I designed Bitcoin, I designed it in such a way as to make future modifications to the consensus rules difficult without near unanimous agreement. Bitcoin was designed to be protected from the influence of charismatic leaders, even if their name is Gavin Andresen, Barack Obama, or Satoshi Nakamoto. Nearly everyone has to agree on a change, and they have to do it without being forced or pressured into it. By doing a fork in this way, these developers are violating the "original vision" they claim to honour.
They use my old writings to make claims about what Bitcoin was supposed to be. However I acknowledge that a lot has changed since that time, and new knowledge has been gained that contradicts some of my early opinions. For example I didn't anticipate pooled mining and its effects on the security of the network. Making Bitcoin a competitive monetary system while also preserving its security properties is not a trivial problem, and we should take more time to come up with a robust solution. I suspect we need a better incentive for users to run nodes instead of relying solely on altruism.
If two developers can fork Bitcoin and succeed in redefining what "Bitcoin" is, in the face of widespread technical criticism and through the use of populist tactics, then I will have no choice but to declare Bitcoin a failed project. Bitcoin was meant to be both technically and socially robust. This present situation has been very disappointing to watch unfold.
Satoshi Nakamoto ... even if it's not Satoshi himself he's correct ...

Pick Unobtanium, LTC, Quark ... maybe Primecoin, Doge and some others that last longer than 5 weeks ...

We may be heading into piranha territory. That's what i am hoping.

Gekko is selling or spoofing?
Dump it on mah face gekko, you Nancy!

People fail to see: the above graph shows clients online not distribution of coins. These graphs do not tell if muricans or russians or germans hold the most coins. It just tells that people connect to the network from these areas, not what they hold. Half of the american clients could be polish people behind VPNs for all i know ...
Grow some manners Gekko, or be ignored. Next comment i read where you insult people for nothing i'll mute you on my account. I suggest others do the same. It's unbearable how Gekko treats people around here.

For those of you who are bullion fanatics, how can leverage this for Uno?
I could see us producing a series of articles that explains the workings of Bitcoin, and how Uno is more interesting to people who appreciate investments that combine rarity/low inflation.
Which websites do you frequent; which bloggers do you follow? Could a well written and referenced article get a placement on a credible site?
While other coins are out there being hyped for pump & dump, I'd like to see us better describe how Uno is different from Bitcoin, and target those differences to a community that would appreciate it.
While I'm content to keep accumulating Uno on the cheap, neither do I want some cheap copycat imitation pnd coin to come along and steal Uno's crown.
So where do you go for metals info?
This is where a lot of germans go, but these are the big boys and it's only about PMs (probably more difficult to get placed but if you do it'll have great impact): http://www.goldseiten.deAswell as this page for alternative viewpoints also centred around PMs but having broader range of reports on all kind of things (smaller audience but probably more easy to get placed): http://www.hartgeld.comgetting an ad or even article should be possible maybe?
