2281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is fall of bitcoin is good for other crypto on: January 04, 2015, 04:19:07 PM
People are losing money left & right. People who bought above $300 are $40 in debt right now. Someone who bought 100 BTC at 300 is $4000 short!!!! there are people who bought it at $320+

Those people are pissed off, tired and very very upset. They will throw that money in altcoins to cover their losses and as a result altcoins price will rise in no time. Back in September I told a friend of mine that 2015 will be rise of altcoins and fall of Bitcoin. It seems like I was correct.
You, sir, are the reason it is going down. AHHH! BITCOIN FELL A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!!! Just so you know, dumping it in Altcoin does NOT help it go back up. Bitcoin had gone from $100 to $1000 in less than a year, don't flip out if you bought at the wrong time. What you need to do, is buy when it's low. When people like you aren't willing to buy, the value won't go up (creating a bear market). Don't be an idiot and sell all your Bitcoin now, you'll lose hundreds of dollars.

couple of hundred? It lost 85% value since January and there is no stop to it.
2282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins are a mess, but Bitcoin looks vulnerable to being dethroned on: January 04, 2015, 03:41:58 PM
Bitcoin has its purpose. It's almost impossible to get your hands on altcoins if BTC isn't there because it's sole purpose is to convert itself to fiat and vice versa. I don't think anything can take its place unless we get something as well adopted as BTC but I'm pretty sure we are years away from it.

That's true, in which case BTC's decline is doubly troubling - it's the latest sign people may be souring on the entire crypto thing. In any case, system clearly needs a compelling user-friendly killer app.

it's reaching new low which also means trend reversal soon but I can't confirm it on the chart YET

Why would people dump money in alt-coin just because bitcoin crash? The weak holder would just sell Bitcoin for USD and never come back.

Most people can't accept loss. They'll run after it.

a revolutionary appcoin with great marketing and devs with some deep pockets can overthrow bitcoins nr 1 position in user base.

Its already being tested with paycoin2, revolutionary extension, hyperflex technology , millions of dollars in marketing and investment, PoS with no PoW overhead , ect...
How is that working out?

Any new feature that your appcoin can come up with can be implemented in bitcoin or a bitcoin sidechain easily. http://www.blockstream.com/
There is some incredible innovation happening within bitcoin which is happening all the time that users just fail to see because they are so wrapped up in their own altcoin project or
they prefer to get in at the ground floor on some new blockchain because they missed the opportunity with bitcoin.

that's very true. Why own 1 Bitcoin when I can own 50,000 altcoin that have so much room to grow.

Thats so wrong i can't stop laughing. There are altcoin which you can buy with Fiat money.

it's not easy I've tried. You always end up paying more than market price because of volatility. For example: Coinbase. I have yet to find a website similar to coinbase for any other altcoin. If you know any let me know.

Paybase is one of them but that was just introduced few days ago and they have yet to add debit card

pow is failing for btc and ltc (too much sell pressure), wont be long till they are fully monopolized. I think PoS will play a big part in 2015

very good point. I think you might be right

My prediction by the end of 2015;

Bitcoin >$USD4000

Litecoin >$USD200

most other alts staying bottom dwellers

I think that is not possible anymore. Too many "alternatives" are available and lot of BTC bag holders are moving towards crypto to increase their earning. Many are looking at BTC as innovation that was given to us by Satoshi and our job is to make it better by copying its code and add something to it. You can't get glued to BTC. It's job is done. There are many crypto that are 100x better than BTC as far as technology is concerned.

BTC will always be here in our memories.

been around this forum, trading in and out of these shitcoins, and I'm yet to see a single innovative new crypto lol

'innovations' just the term to sell suckers into the latest alt scam.

Lot of crypto have learned lot of things from BTC..just look around. URO, BC, SDC and many more. There will be many more in 2015 and only few will be selected. By the time we reach 2018 we'll have good selection of crypto. BTC is godfather..just like newton, einstein, graham bell & shakespear. We have to take the idea satoshi gave us and keep making it better.

2293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does price fall when I buy and it rises after I sell? on: January 04, 2015, 01:29:25 PM
the worst traders in the world are attracted to crypto

Only reason I like trading crypto is because you never lose 100% of your investment (as long as you're investing in trustworthy coins). For example: Even if you bought Doge during all time high there is still hope that some day it might get pumped back to that price again. You'll never lose 100% of your investment as long as you keep your coins. Even if you're investing $5..it'll never become zero and most likely it'll pump back to $5+ within few months. People say it's risky but they have never invested in forex where you lose 100% if shit goes down.

It's more of a waiting game and sometimes you have to wait for longer time period and that's what I hate.

2294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does price fall when I buy and it rises after I sell? on: January 04, 2015, 10:54:12 AM
just change your strategy and trade opposite what you normally would  Wink

seems like I should do opposite of my gut reaction but it's hard to differentiate between gut reaction and emotions when you're trading with real money. It's only after I lose money I can tell which feelling was gut reaction.  Embarrassed

Why the fuck doesn't someone do something horrible to one of these scammers and then the rest of them will slow down  Grin

There are sign posts everywhere that tells you it's a scam and if people are still buying it that means they don't really care as long as it makes them money.

2296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Dogecoin overtake Bitcoin in 2015? on: January 04, 2015, 09:52:39 AM
Woolong left

Doge is dying

In fact BTC is dying as we speak. 287

Every coin worth mentioning was pumped, this is the nature of cryptocurrency.

https://bitinfocharts.com/charts.html
Dogecoin has the highest usage of any altcoin, including Litecoin (excluding off-chain tipping).

So how is it dying?  Roll Eyes

lol

because it's based on meme. Meme dies after a while so will doge. All the coins that were created before 2014 will die

Here are some reasons:

1.) January 04. Majority of people are on vacation and not much trading going on.

2.) BTC price is crashing and people are converting their BTC into fiat to save their ass.

3.) Lot of people sold crypto on 31st December so they could report it as "loss" on their tax return.

We'll be okay by 15th of January. Right now it's good time to stock up on good coins that are being sold for cheap price.
