CAKE is above $16 right now. Who have bought CAKE when it was on the dip at $9?

I would rather avoid investing in cake.
Who also avoided investing in CAKE like this guy?

Uh oh Uh oh. You are so smart... I wish I was you... 20% up from the day of my post, after strong recovery from 20% dump after my post (damn i should jump here few days before to flex like you... if 20% is a reason to do so). Did not even reach ATH. And you jumped here to show off... Its your first correct prediction or what?

I thought this thread is about pancake fundamentals (comparing volume, traffic to uniswap etc.)... Not about short term pumps that are not connected to fundamentals. Fundamentals don't work in short term pump and dump shame. Fundamentals works on 3M candles and cake with 200% inflation, $2B CMC evaluated swap is simply not a good investment product. It may pump even to 100$, it may dump to 5$ but not because of fundamentials. You are gambling on the bubble, asset that pumped 50x in 3 months ... not investing.

Green area is investing area, HERE fundamentials decide about price direction. Red area is gamble on bubble area. Ask yourself where asset that did 50x in 3 months is. And comparing overvalued asset to other hyperovervalued asset does not makes the first one undervalued.
2302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too many coin in circulation on: March 27, 2021, 11:02:24 AM
No newbie should bother with new coins as their first investment, they should try bitcoin at first and then if they have been capable to hold their coins for at least a year

Being able not to dump for a year is not a determinant if someone is good investor od bad. Its the stereotype created by bull marked kids that didn't see real bear market. Yea we had bear makers in crypto but they last no longer than 3 years. Whole bitcoin didn't see a global bear market (SP500 is in bull mode for last 12 years). What will you tell a person who invested today, a month before a bear market that will last 20 years? Is it possible? Hell yea it is.

I would rather suggest learning money management, to protect your funds, to calculate risks, to avoid unknown risks.
2303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: March 26, 2021, 01:47:06 PM
what's mean about mining delegation ? If Idena will later list in the BSC Dex pancake swap and we can stake, will we all still be able to mine using the share node or will it stop?

These are 2 completely separate things. Wrap to BSC is only an option for those who wants to hold their IDENAs on wallets like Trust or metamask and trade them on BSC dexes. Stacking on BSC has nothing to do with mining real IDENAs. Stacking on BSC is related to trading only (adding liquidity) while mining real IDENA is related to real chain where your mining speed is not related to your stake.
2304  Economy / Economics / Re: How much can you make by saving and compounding on: March 25, 2021, 08:38:11 AM
Good luck with picking undervalued stocks. There are thousands of funds around the globe try to pick the best undervalued stocks and they don't outperform the S&P 500.

1- Majority of them
2- did not outperform S&P500 during "gaminied investing around bubble of everything" during best USA era.

Nothing will last forever.
2305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: March 25, 2021, 08:29:31 AM
"Dear Idena community,

The hard fork update (https://medium.com/idena/idena-hard-fork-announcement-mining-delegation-and-oracle-voting-8a5f9ddd9797) has been successfully activated at the block number 2643893.
Make sure you're running the latest node version 0.25.0.

The new Idena app version will be released soon to support the mining delegation.

Changes:
- Mining delegation
- Oracle voting for delegated accounts
- Preventing the disclosure of secret votes when the vote is prolonged
- Preventing endless voting
- Protection against attacks on voting deposits
- Terminating expired votings
- Increased flip rewards
- Bug fix

Please update (https://idena.io/?view=download) the node version. Otherwise the mining nodes running the previous version will get a mining penalty."

https://t.me/IdenaAnnouncements/730

After client update everyone will be able to delegate their mining. It means that now you need to pay for 1 VPS (5$) to mine coins for all your family/friends.

2307  Economy / Speculation / Re: BoA this week is spreading the FUD on: March 21, 2021, 12:21:15 PM

The amount of FUD related to bitcoin using more energy than some countries (f.e Netherlands) is super low. 1 bitcoin transfer uses as much energy as whole single-family house needs for 2 days.
I'm surprised why every single green organization isint targeting bitcoin. Why Greta Thunberg isn't screaming "we should ban bitcoin"? The only explanation for that is ... nobody cares about the environment every green organization cares only about bribes from big companies. Rich guys game. Green organization are only pawns in the game Corpo vs corpo. And big organizations has no profit from attacking bitcoin. And there is no way to attack it before its fully regulated (KYC to own bitcoin address that is allowed for crypt to fiat transactions)
2308  Economy / Economics / Re: How much can you make by saving and compounding on: March 21, 2021, 08:51:57 AM
Compound interest is great, but with interest rates being so low, it is not an Inflation beater.  Roll Eyes

It would have been interesting to see if someone made a comparison between someone buying $100 worth of bitcoins every month, since 2010 and someone saving $100 with interest in a Bank with compound interest.  Roll Eyes

I bought bitcoin when the price was between $300 to $400 and I sold some of those bitcoins at $47 000 ..... Do you think compound interest would have given me higher returns on my investment if I simply left it in my Bank account with compound interest? (Noooo way in hell)  Grin

Yea but you compare 2 completely different things. Little to zero risk investment (but still some) with high risk investment. I can go even further with this logic. My friend bought a lottery ticket and won. 3$ investment turned into 1 mln $ in 1 day. Try to do it with bitcoin "(Noooo way in hell) " Smiley
2309  Economy / Economics / Re: How much can you make by saving and compounding on: March 21, 2021, 07:36:02 AM
Even when you factor in huge corrections that the market invariably suffers quit frequently, the stock market returns an average of 10% per year.  The longer you're in the market, the better off you are statistically because the effect of corrections is smoothed out of recognition over long periods of time.

Yea its so funny to lock my investing capital for 10 years to ... break even XD Or ... in fact, be 20-30% short thanks to inflation and a decline in purchasing power of my money.

Investing is not as easy as you guys think. I suggest you all to read this book:
The Black Swan - The impact of the Highly Improbable.

When you are experienced investor you know that something Highly Improbable is about to happen when retail investors, a nutrient for big fish, is super confident about any investment type. Time will show. It is possible that nothing bad will happened, and we will see ~10% annual growth in next 50 years. It is also probable that we will see strong 70-90% crash and recover to break even after 50 years (in fact still -90% thanks to inflation).
2310  Economy / Speculation / Re: How to make money countertrading high leverage degenerate traders... on: March 20, 2021, 01:00:25 PM
According to Bank of America research it takes $93 million to move bitcoin by 1%. I doubt that someone is hitting bitcoin with 300-500 mln $ to push it down by 3-5% to hit stop loss of 1 youtuber and his viewers and trigger 10-20M order.

How do i know that? Its so funny. I was just reading this thread - Bank of America: It takes $93 million to move Bitcoin's price by 1%. literally 5 min ago Smiley

Isn't it better to spend those 300 mln $ to push price below strong support lines to trigger stoploses from all TA (technical analysis) traders? For example this chart:

I bet that every single short term trader that is trading on 5m even to 4H candles has stop loss around 0.004. You see my point? you dont need to know where 1 person has stop loss when you know where literally everyone have. Because they place it based on well known TA technics
2311  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to start as a beginner? on: March 20, 2021, 12:41:37 PM
Hi!

I was just mainly looking for learning how crypto works like the technology behind it. Then maybe learning about how coins like bitcoin, ethereum etc work with the technology etc.

Thank you for the reply Smiley.

Binance academy has a lot of basic articles for beginners explained in a short and simple way.

https://academy.binance.com/en [you can replace 'en' with your language, they support many, but the best read is always 'en' version)

You can choose a topic, difficulty and reading time:

This will be a good start.
2312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank of America: It takes $93 million to move Bitcoin's price by 1%. on: March 20, 2021, 12:34:56 PM
The problem is that you told us that 93mil will move market for certain percentage but at what price point?

now. During the time when it was being calculated. And this does not depend directly on the price but on the liquidity in the markets which depends much more on volatility, volume, safety of asset (it all atrack market makers).
2313  Economy / Speculation / Re: get a loan and reinvest it on: March 19, 2021, 07:51:53 AM
Guys he is not talking about buying/selling anything. He is talking about borrowing at lower interest and put to defi at higher interest. There is no buy/sell here. Price of asset does not matter here. He is not exposed to currency risk here.

For example borrowing USDT and USDC and than put them both into USDT/USDC liquidity pool.

1- you are exposed to defi smart contract failures, defi smart contract scams (it is possible).
2- you are exposed to impermanent loss with liquidity pools. Even with 2 stable coins. When one of them is failing (for example bifinex is bankrupting and USDT is going down) you are ok because you just need to give them back. Same amount. You dont care about their value but if they were locked in defi (d.e liquidity pool) you are loosing both usdc and usdt thanks to impermanent loss. So you will not be able to give back same amount of USDT and USDC
3- you are exposed to interest changes (both in defi and lending)
4- you are exposed to various risk that comes with defi you chose (simply how they use your deposit)
5- most likely you have to have collateral. Most likely twice as much as you want to borrow (or something like that). Maybe its better to simply put that on defi?
2314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A Big Secret of PANCAKESWAP (CAKE) Coin (Speculation of CAKE coin!) on: March 19, 2021, 07:36:50 AM
Fyi, Binance don't burn based on % profit again, as CZ said he wants to speed up the burn process

Yea. I've seen their announcement. Its still % of profit but now its not fixed 20% as it was before. But its still a fraction of profit generated by them. It does not change to "mine to burn" strategy that we see in CAKE.

I wonder how much they will burn now. They announced accelerated burn at price 45$ saying that BNB growed so much, that " it would take roughly 27 years to finish the burn". After acceleration, they said they are aiming to "5-8 years to finish the 100 million BNB.". The problem is ... price is now 270$ not 45$ Smiley

They have 70 mln BNB more to burn. $19 billion to burn at current price. $2.3 billion annually (dividing by Cool. $590 mln each quarter. 3.5 times more than last time. It will be very interesting to see if they will achieve that.
2315  Economy / Economics / Re: How much can you make by saving and compounding on: March 19, 2021, 07:21:58 AM
If the Sp500 is not a safe investment, nothing is. [...] Companies work if they beat inflation, otherwise they tend to disappear. What will the 500 largest U.S. companies do in the next 30 years? If we discount events such as the coming of the third world war, it is normal that they will continue to grow and beat inflation.

Undervalued value stock are much better (there are value and growth stocks). As I said above. We have recession now in real economy. Sp500 is mooning. Stock market is currently completely detached from real economy. In next 5 years real economy can shrink 50% while stock value may shrink 90-99%. Its not 1970. Its not 2000. Its 2021. Stock market is now a casino for teenagers. Stock prices does not represent value from real economy. They are not based on fundamentals.

Good stock to invest now is a company with low P/E, with repeatable profits, based on strong tech, with at least 4-5% dividend. Wallet should be diversified to different countries, to different currencies, to different investment products. Its the only way to safe as much purchasing power of your investments in next few years. Of course we may not crash this or next year. But tje problem with "buy every dip and hodl" strategy is that every other strategy creates repeatable profits and protects your wallet, while the other one is like martingale system in casino. You earn,
you make fun of other, more cautious investors unless you hit black swan and whole your wallet is gone.

Past results, of course, do not guarantee anything, but they serve as a guide.

You are looking back to a times where stock markets and real economy were totally different as they are now.
2316  Economy / Economics / Re: How much can you make by saving and compounding on: March 18, 2021, 09:51:02 PM
Even for shorter periods of time, e.g. 10 years, you would really need to buy at a extreme market peak to loose money.

We are currently at a extreme market peak. Market peak that was never seen before. Its first time that we see a real economy recession without SP500 going down. Stock markets are completely detached from reality,
detached from the real economy. Fed is printing not only tons of money. Its printing new history. Results will be unpredictable. It may end up ok, it may not. We can look back on charts and predict future, but ... history when those charts were taking place painting candle after candle are from different economy situation we have now. Its like driving a car watching in back mirror all the time and predict that we should drive straight only because we were going straight in the past. We should rather look forward and make our decision based on what we see now.

Investing is very hard and comes with huge risk. Don't let youtubers convince you its just "buy the dip and hodl" only because it works for them for few months (especially the most popular sp500) .
2317  Economy / Economics / Re: How much can you make by saving and compounding on: March 18, 2021, 07:47:03 PM
Its funny. Recently I've seen few people talking about that a lot. Few youtube videos. Even whole youtube chanel focused on similar strategy - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vffTJV0IzHM

Why its funny? Because we are currently during "bubble of everything". Not only bitcoin is mooning. Everything is. And now, when people like Michael Burry (Big short movie was based on his prediction of 2008 crash) is screaming to watch out - 'Big Short' investor Michael Burry says the stock market is 'dancing on a knife's edge' - and fears he's being ignored again YouTubers appeared out of nowhere, now, with approach that - market is super easy - just buy whatever and hodl. Why not 10 years ago? We have a record number of retail investors on the markets. Even high schools students have robinhood installed and gamble their savings. Mostly on popular stocks, mostly sp500. Every experienced investor should see a red light here. Its not good time for investing in the most overvalued stocks (SP500)

For each case, you get the final amount on money you get depending on the average yield that your investment gives you (this not mathematically accurate, but is good enough. For example, the SP500 index in the past usually yields 6% and is considered a quite safe investment. I have calculated for 6%, 12% and 18%. I call this, the boring 6%, the "nice 12%" and the "the gods love me much 18%" average yield a year.

No. Sp500 is not "a quite safe investment". It is  'dancing on a knife's edge'. Remember "past performance is no guarantee of future results"
2318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A Big Secret of PANCAKESWAP (CAKE) Coin (Speculation of CAKE coin!) on: March 18, 2021, 07:40:17 AM
Tytanowy Janusz I understand your point and you are right. CAKE emission model is not ideal.

I hope they will change it for good. Pancakeswap is backed by CZ, they can use BNB's burning model.

BNB's burning model? Binance burns 20% of profit and has 0 new coins emission, is a market giant with an established position. Cake is a different story. Big part of cake liquidity comes from syrup pools that are feed by cake emission. I think they can't effort to give up on that and let liquidity flood to other dex with better ROI for liquidity providers. DEX market is very aggressive.

Its not the problem with burning model. Its the problem of whole tocenomics, defi overhype, aggressive fighting for the client that we see in DEFI. Cake mint that much coins to grab as big part of market as it is possible. The problem is that CAKE investors are paying for this.
2319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A Big Secret of PANCAKESWAP (CAKE) Coin (Speculation of CAKE coin!) on: March 18, 2021, 06:43:51 AM
Agree, that burn activity such as odd thing, burn activity could be from community fund or developer fund which want to do that, not from fresh minted tokens.
Inflation rate will show their actual price in the future, becareful with our investment.

In most cases those funds were minted during lauch with a view to burning it later to build a little hype around it.

Funds for burns should be taken from profit only. % of fees or % of annuall/quarter profit.

BTC. Pancake is thinking about reducing inflation:
https://pancakeswap.medium.com/emission-reductions-to-do-list-and-pancakeswap-v2-20a0f9b46464

It vill be done via "governance vote" - so majority of farmers will have to agreed to farm less. Will be hard.

The 1inch team has released the third iteration of its Aggregation Protocol, a tool that routes trade orders across all decentralized exchanges on Ethereum and, as of recently, Binance Smart Chain.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/new-version-of-1inch-s-dex-aggregator-makes-it-cheaper-than-uniswap

"he V3 release introduces gas optimizations that the team claims make the protocol cheaper than using either Uniswap or 0x directly. In tests conducted by the team, the 1inch V3 aggregator was about 10% cheaper in terms of gas than the same trades done via Uniswap, and about 5% cheaper than on 0x. Compared with 1inch V2, gas costs decreased by up to 30%."

Thats impressive. Wonder how they achieved this. Routing transaction through uniswap with lower fees than on uniswap directly...

But the biggest advantage 1inch gives on BSC on very low MC coins with low liquidity, especially when you swap to coin that does not have its own pool. When it is worth to split 1000$ trade to multiple pools and take full advantage from BSC low fees.
