I'm sorry for spoiling the Wolves discussion but are users here aware that Ime Udoka has been suspended for the upcoming 2022-2023 NBA season. Just this time, they already given his sanction and that is to suspend him for the whole season.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/sports/celtics-coach-ime-udoka-suspended-2022-23-season-rcna49079
Quote
The Boston Celtics have suspended coach Ime Udoka for the 2022-23 season, effective immediately, and with no guarantee he will be back with the franchise in the future.

In case some don't know, Udoka had "an improper intimate and consensual relationship with a female member of the team staff."  that's why he got suspended and he apologized for it. I don't know if this is a big news but I'm pretty sure that the Celtics franchise is heavily affected by this one. He has been a very good coach in his first season, and he led the Celtics to NBA Finals. Their assistant coach, Joe Mazzulla will be their interim head coach.

Any thoughts with this one? How will the Celtics be affected by this?

It's a little strange to me how professional sports has gotten so anti-workplace relationships.  Cheerleaders are threatened with the loss of their job if they converse with players, even outside of the workplace.  Now coaches can't bang who they want (granted he was married to Nia Long so the guy is an idiot)...  I think maybe it's about time to stop policing relationships between consenting adults.  You know this sort of thing is happening all over the league in every sport.  Seems like the NBA is speeding down a slippery slope with this one.

I am by no means promoting it but I think this has been prevalent in sports, hollywood, etc for a long time.  With the rise of social media and movements lime the me too movement I just think the public is hearing about it much more
2302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How I feel about play to earn games on: September 23, 2022, 02:23:35 AM
At the end of it all no play to earn games can gives player the satisfying reward they deserve, there is no unlimited reward in play to earn games, the only thing that matters is how fun the game can get, people needs to feel like ' well I am ok with the fun more than the payout' its not how much people are going to be earning its how much fun people will have. The game needs to be addicting enough. Am I wrong?

Well of course it can't be infinite otherwise people will.learn how to game the system and exploit it.  Games will always come down to the playability.  I mean they have faucets which are free money but no one can continually just go to faucets, its like watching paint dry.  Play to earn still needs to have a good game for it to be successful.  The pay is the bonus but if it's unplayable then it will ultimately fail in the end.

They've been talked about when the trade happened. Go back a few pages to read the discussion.

I mean nobody expects them to be champions this year for sure, but they got Gobert and he is a good player and that improved Wolves a lot. It gives KAT to actually be power forward as well which he could be very good for and could cook smaller defenders down there,
I'm not sure about your point here. Why do you expect a Guard or a smaller person to defend him? You know for sure that the game has evolved and even the bigs would go out of the paint to guard. Expect another power forward to be put up against him.

Quote
...with two giants on the floor at the same time, they could end up with a lot more wins compared to last year.
Yes I also think they are a playoff-bound team next season if no serious injuries would hamper the giant duo.

I think the Timberwolves see themselves as top 4 in the west.  The west is rather weak compared to years past.  I can see the Warriors, Suns and Clippers being better but other than that I can't see anyone competing with them if they stay healthy.  I can see them winning 50 games.  Going deep into the playoffs.

I don’t see them going deep into the playoffs. KAT doesn’t have the drive to do it in my opinion. Once he got his massive payday he’s been pretty irrelevant. I think Anthony Edwards has what it takes to lead that team, but he’s still young and KAT still has the keys to the franchise. If I were their GM, I’d be trading KAT for pieces to build around Edwards for the future.

They played Memphis tough.  With gobert running the paint unsure how it changes the complexity of KAT but I'm sure he is going to be playing like a big wing.  Weirdly enough I think no one is looking at McDaniels and I think he plays a huge factor in them pushing towards the upper echelon.  You always need guys behind the "top" players which makes great teams.  The Rodman, Steve Kerrs put great teams over the edge.  I could be wrong but I think Rudy frees up KAT to let him be KAT.  that could end up being a volume 30% shooter behind the arc, could be the complete opposite.  Grabbing my popcorn for the 22-23 season.  Can't wait!!!
2304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: September 22, 2022, 10:58:14 PM
I just watched the press conference, which I know I'm a little late too, but I must say I was quite impressed by Jake. He didn't resort to his normal internet personality, and came across as a nice guy. Giving credits to Anderson, and you can kind of tell that this kid grew up watching, and admiring him. That's nice to see. I know they recreated the picture they took several years ago with Logan too.

Obviously, the fights a little bit off now, and I thought a press conference was a little early, but Anderson talks about how he's training all the time. So, that might be worth considering, since I know that generally fighters that are ageing usually don't end up committing to the same training schedule they did when they were in their prime. So, that age might not show as much on Anderson, which I do believe is the case since he's looked good just over a year ago in his last fights.

One thing that I am worried about exhibition fights, is they may have prior arrangements.
We don't know if these 2 already know the results of their fight. So hard to say the outcome.
So even if Silva is preparing also, if they already know who should win here, then, it is the loss of the boxing fans.
Also, the judges may just rule this out as draw even if there is a clear winner.
With this, better not to bet on their fight, just watch for entertainment purposes only.

Yeah trying to place a bet on these types of matches is almost impossible.  Might as well go with the underdog and take the odds because it's really up in the air who wins these.  It's subpar boxing at best as these are professional boxers.  I won't be watching this one, it's cringy watching these as a pure boxing fan.

During a trade a player has no choice.  If the Suns have CP under contract and trade him to the Lakers there is nothing chris Paul can say unless he has a no trade clause in his contract which I don't think he does.  Players only have a choice when they are glfree agents and looking for a team to sign them.
That is true. But Chris Paul is an influencial player. If he and lebron wanted to play together, they can make it happen. They can force a trade to make it happen. But like I said, it is not beneficial for Cp3 to play in the lakers because of how it is set up right now and that cp3 has better chance of getting a championship in phoenix than in Lakers. That trade rumor is likely not to happen but we will see. There are still ample of time to make it a reality if it is true.

They can force a trade if they wanted to?  In what world does the Suns let go of chris Paul to the Lakers (a rival) because that's what lebron wanted lol.  That only happens with free agemcy...not trades.  You think Donovan Mitchell wanted to end up on the Cavaliers?  Or Rudy wanted to land in Minnesota.  Trust me no one is going to do the Lakers a favor by handing them exactly what they need (a point guard) so that they can compete again.

Lol, yeah unfortunately for ol Lebron James and Chris Paul , well know besties who often find themselves vacationing together, there is no chance that either could ever talk to the Suns in to trading Paul to the Lakers. Not to mention I highly doubt that Chris Paul has any interest in joining the Lakers even if he could. The Suns are in a much better position than the Lakers are.

Agreed the Suns are maybe a piece away if that.  The Lakers need everything to go right in terms of injuries and russ taking shape of older russ in order to male the plaulyoffs.  Cp3 has another year or so to try to get that ring, he definitely wants to stay on the Suns.  They got the shooting in book, just resigned Ayton to man the middle and have plenty of wing play in the likes of bridges.
2307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you buy a token if its price never went up and you could never sell it? on: September 19, 2022, 11:16:53 PM
Let's assume that I create a new token and this token has two main characteristics:
1. The purchase price is always fixed
2. You can never sell it to anyone else after you bought that token (so it can't act as a stablecoin)

You can come back and buy more of it since I can create as much as I want anytime I want but you can never sell those tokens to anybody else so you'll have to own them forever.

Will you buy this token?

Feel free to explain and tell me if the price would be a factor (eg. if the token was sold for $20 or $2000).

Honestly if it served another purpose to be usable and had intrinsic value that I seen as beneficial to my life in using then why not.  Not everything I do is financially motivated.  Doing cool stuff and having access to things that I like to get/do is sometimes just that, the end goal.  If that token could get me access to something like that then yes I would.  Almost like an entrance fee.
2308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CZ claimed Layer 2 isn't really needed yet on: September 19, 2022, 11:14:13 PM
We have few layer 1 projects in the crypto space right now and new ones are showing up but the thing is no layer 1 project fixed every layer 1 problems yet so why are layer 2 projects showing up in numbers? Do we really need layer 2 projects right now? I watched a CZ and Crypto banter interview on Youtube and CZ claimed we don't need layer 2 yet.

Honestly just because bz says it's not needed yet doesn't really mean anything to me. Lightning seems like a viable solution to me and I'm sure other layer 2 projects being worked on right now will blow open more doors.  I'd be very weary just listening to a single person especially when they have a vested interest to say one way or another for financial gain.

Bombay Bengals vs. Eli-2 Brady-0 looks to be the one to watch today, projections are close. J. Jefferson vs. half of the Bills roster.

Gabe Davis seems to be out.

Yeah I think I lucked out there.  Still need Jefferson to post something like a 7 catches /100 yards and a td to be comfy.  Allen can go bananas and Knox should pick up some of gabes targets.  Hoping for a defensive first game and an offensive second game.  Grin

This is the first I've heard of this potential trade and I'm sure it's just clickbait, but 'The Sportest' published an article this morning titled, Chris Paul With The Lakers Is ALMOST Set And Done:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/chris-paul-with-the-lakers-is-almost-set-and-done-nba-trade-rumors/vi-AA11Zi9n

I'm sure this is nonsense, but would be cool.  I don't think the Lakers have any pieces the Suns want, so I'm not holding my breath.

In other news, it looks like Kevin Love is finally going to take a buyout and move on from the Cavs.  They're saying Golden State or New Jersey are potential landing spots.  I think him joining the Warriors would really help fill the hole left in Draymond's 3 point shooting troubles.

Tried to look this up but cannot find any article that will support it. It is probably just nonsense. The Lakers right now have quite a number of point guards already. I do not think they will sign Schroder if they are in the move to get Chris Paul.

Also, Chris Paul is chasing an NBA Championship. I do not think moving to the Lakers will be the best move for him, He has a better chance to get a ring in Phoenix than in the Lakers. Lebron and AD are great and they could benefit from having a point god in their team but they have health issues. And if you add Chris Paul, they will be another old team that cannot keep up with young teams.

During a trade a player has no choice.  If the Suns have CP under contract and trade him to the Lakers there is nothing chris Paul can say unless he has a no trade clause in his contract which I don't think he does.  Players only have a choice when they are glfree agents and looking for a team to sign them.
2312  Economy / Economics / Re: Removal of $100 bills from circulation on: September 19, 2022, 07:22:18 PM
I used to read the news about it, but didn't take it seriously. But recently I heard a discussion that 100 dollar bills will be banned in a number of countries, and then in the USA and Europe, fiat will gradually be replaced by digital money(CBDC).
It's not a quick process, but it's rumored to start later this year.
I'm interested in hearing your opinion on this issue.

Weirdly enough I've been told they don't accept 100s or even 50s in multiple places of business.  Rediculous as it sounds I just walked away.  If I have legal tender for something I refuse to use a card or something else because that company doesn't "accept" it.  I get it from a counterfeit perspective but still.  How rediculous that a business wouldn't accept a $100 when I was spending around that much.  It wasn't lime I was buying a pack of gum lol.

He added that he didn’t think he gave everything he could to the Lakers as he played alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who he considers “two of the best players in the NBA.” Schröder continued, “At the end of the day, I feel like for me, personally, I got to be comfortable in the environment I’m in. I love the Lakers organization and they did great things, but I think for me, and this is just business, I don’t think I fit in 100 percent.”
https://hypebeast.com/2021/9/dennis-schroder-explains-why-he-turned-down-84-million-usd-los-angeles-lakers-deal-boston-celtics
So when he turn down that $84 million contract, him and his agent says that he is not a perfect fight with the Lakers.
And now he change his tune, and agreed with a minimum contract? What a sudden change of event, isn't it. From "I don't what to play with AD and Lebron because I can't evolved and i don't need that money, to now, I'm fine with $2 million, show me the money!!!".
Wow! If that is true then we all know why it went sour for him.
A hypocrite player plus a bad agent is a recipe for disaster. I doubt he will get a better contract after this. He must show something different in this 1-year contract playing for the Lakers to please other teams and offer better than a veteran contract.
He's already creating a new path by showing his skills again in the Eurobasket, he should've used that as his upper hand as there are many scouts lurking around that league to make offers to a lot of European players.
Well, I bet he and his agent cannot wait anymore.

Dennis Schroder is 29 years old but it does feel like he is really old for some reason. And I really can't explain why. And I really think that the price that they have accepted is actually okay. Not that cheap in my opinion. And with this price tag, he is going to be a really good value for money. But I hope that he will be able to perform well with the Lakers. But I hope at this age he has not become prone to injury. Staying healthy is going to be a big priority for him.
Wow, on the contrary I always thought he is quite a young player than he is. His playing style is also energetic, so he never seemed old to me. He was born in 1993, it could still be his prime years. Personally, I like the Lakers' move a lot. Schröder played really good in the Eurobasket Tournament and with responsibility. He could be the guard Lakers needs. I can understand the situation with Westbrook but he can still be a not starter and contribute to the team a lot. Westbrook is 33 years old(born in 88), gonna be 34 soon, and he was not in his prime last year, obviously. Schrönder can be the driving force Lakers needed. And still get a big help from Westbrook.

If you are insinuating that Schroeder is better than Westbrook right now you are crazy.  Westbrook gets hack because of how much his salary is, but 10 out of 10 times I'd take Westbrook over Schroder.  They are 2 different players though.  Dennis will be a distributer and won't be looked for to be a scoring punch like Westbrook still will be looked at for.

Definitely click bait.  No way Suns trade him to the Lakers only to have to compete against them and make the Lakers infinitely better.  Those always pop up every day for the Knicks and none of them mean anything.  1 out of 1000 come somewhat true then that site can claim they have the inside sources.  Law of averages lol.  Kevin love on GS would just be unfair lol.  The amount of open looks he'd get would be crazy.

Weird how Keenan out gives all his looks to Williams and luckily I got to face him, what are those odds. Cheesy

Yeah I had Keenan out in some of my leagues.  Mike Williams is more a 1a option than wr2 on the team so it was no surprise he got a bunch of looks.  Here comes the injuries and the fun of the fantasy football season.  Here is where depth comes in play.

With that being said interested in the eagles/min game tonight.  Early in the season but they seem to be on the same level and could see them both in the wild card race come the end of year.  With that being said....go Justin Jefferson  Grin
2316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH might be classified as a security after switching to POS on: September 19, 2022, 02:06:08 AM
SEC chairman Gary Gensler hinted the possibility of classifying all PoS cryptocurrencies as a security. ETH would be not be exempt from this, after switching to the PoS consensus algorithm. With centralization issues mounting on the ETH blockchain, I wouldn't be surprised if exchanges (mainly Coinbase and Kraken) would be required to comply with securities laws in order to provide staking services to their customers. This could also affect Vitalik Buterin (ETH's founder), especially when the project held an ICO in its early days. For what I know, all options are on the table. But rest assured that if the SEC takes action against ETH, it'll be the end of a decentralized web as we know it. Maybe ETC will take over if ETH fails?

What do you think about this? Will the SEC be able to successfully classify ETH as a security? If not, why? If securities laws are enforced, will that make ETH more centralized? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley

Honestly the SEC can move the goalposts anytime they want to make it work for them.  Will they classify PoS coins as securities, no clue.  I have read too much into the reasons that would make them classify them as such but if they did eth pricing could see a massive hit in the short term.
2317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why going for 1.02 odds and below on: September 19, 2022, 02:03:05 AM
On sportbooks, I have noticed some odds lower than 1.1. I definitely know that if people are not going for such low odds, bookmakers would stop adding such low odds. Even 1.08 is still better (understand me correctly, I am not saying it is better), I have noticed odds like 1.02 and 1.01. On in-play (live matches), I have even noticed 1.001 up to 1.005 to be included. Why are people going for these kinds of low odds?

Assuming I have $10 to bet with this week, going for 1.02 odd, the profit is $0.2. That means I have to bet 50 times of the same 1.02 odds to get $10 in return. But my $10 betting fund which I could lose in just a single bet. Is it worth it?

I am thinking it does not worth it at all. Why are some people going for non valued bet of such low odds? It would only encourage them to increase the amount of money they stake on a bet and yet losing it at once is possible. Not a good strategy at all.

What is your opinion?

It's almost a feel good bet.  For some people they need to just win a bet and betting on games like that almost secures you a win.  For me I think it's the mental part of breaking up a losing streak.  And then you feel better about betting on a more risky bet because of your "win streak".  As far as doing it for the money yeah it doesn't make sense.

You literally found the best place to ask that question and the answer is yes.  There are tons of places to make bets using crypto including bitcoin.  If you need a place, look no further than the spot in my signature 😀.  Whoever you use make sure you look up some reviews first so you don't end up sending your bitcoin to some scam sight.

It appears presently we have found out why San Francisco should always keep Jimmy Garoppolo hehehe. They should pay him more money. It was a mistake for Jimmy G to accept the pay reduction. Trey Lance might not be the franchise quarterback they want him to become. Justin Fields might have been the better pick for them.

In any case, @Southpark, it was a good weekend for the 2 of us. However, I was very lucky that Lamar had a very good game for fantasy hehe. Mike Evans would have destroyed my week 2.

@wheelz1200. The new head coach might be very good? I am presently looking at their team for some gems eheheh.

Trey Lance will be fine, he will get a full opportunity to run the team.  You don't waste a high #1 draft pick on qb only to play a Jimmy garafolo even though Jimmy is decent.  The front office will lose theor jobs for doing something like that.

And as far as grabbing any gems off the giants you won't find any because theor is none lol.  I'm a realist, this was an anomaly to start the year.  They don't have any real good ff impact players on theor squad right now.  But hey who knows right:)
