2381  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Matthew Neal Wright: You have been reported to the SEC and Korean authorities. on: September 09, 2012, 10:15:28 PM
Sure you did tough guy. Did you sign your complaint "Pimp" too? I'm sure that will impress the piss out of the SEC when considering your issue with a pretend bet with a pretend currency with a pretend identity on the internet for an anonymous event that happened exactly as it was described by someone who is probably in Korea.

They are probably scrambling the SEC/Interwebz Anti-Fraud Squad Black Helicopter Fleet right now to go and catch this evil genius, and have him brought before the International Court of Interwebz Justice in Den Hauge.

Does you mom know you are fucking around with her computer?

Gold!

All his posts are gold, he's my favorite poster.
2382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm giving 100% ROI away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud on: September 09, 2012, 10:13:10 PM
Pirate offered him on IRC to buy his bet so Matthew doesn't risk his neck with it. Matthew politely declined the offer, saying that it was his bet, and he would have to respect his deal.

At that time, I had a huge respect for Matt, getting offered an easy way out of his bet, but wanting to stick to his end of the deal.

Now....seeing this. Matthew, I don't know if you realized, but you fucked up pretty high. You had the greatest opportunity to build yourself a reputation for decades that would have probably helped all your business ventures. It's sad to see, really sad.

You got that chat log because that is insanely bizarre.

1) Pirate being an insolvent debtor really didn't have any right to buy Matt's bet.
2) Matt if he really believe the bet was a sham would have ever reason to pawn it off on Pirate.

Either there was collusion going on or at least at the point of that conversation Matt was taking the bet seriously.  I think people forget that 3 weeks ago PPT bonds were trading at > 50 cents on the dollar.  There was no absolute 100% belief among everyone on the forum that Pirate absolutely would not pay out.  IMHO Matt made a bet when he thought Pirate would pay and made the decision to scam after the fact when he realized he would lose.

That's an interesting point, it shows why he may have started taking bets again and racked up such a huge amount of bets. Makes it easy after the fact to say "It was totally a joke guys!" Hell some people here are saying that already.

He can't be a scammer he was totally just kidding  Roll Eyes.
2383  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Thosecoins (scammer) AKA Jake Wrightington on: September 09, 2012, 08:49:03 PM
If he's a scammer theymos can restore deleted posts, so don't worry too much about that.

I moved this thread here, from the Newbie board.
Should he be whitelisted so he can continue posting?

Nah, he's the one who deleted his posts. His problem.

BEWARE MATTHEW MAY TRY TO FIND A TECHNICALITY TO NOT SHIP YOU WHAT YOU PURCHASED AND MAKE UP SOME LAME EXCUSE AS TO WHY YOU WILL NOT BE GETTING THE ELLET NOR YOUR MONEY BACK.

Wouldn't be the first time.
2386  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where Matthew Failed in His bet on: September 09, 2012, 07:49:32 PM

If his aim was to let everyone know he can't be trusted, then yes he succeeded.
2387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you ever buy a Bitcoin Magazine issue again? on: September 09, 2012, 07:46:23 PM
I suspect that a lot of ppl will change their minds if Bitcoin Magazine pays Matthew's debt. Is it possible to add such an option into the poll?

I won't change my mind just because someone else decided to cover his debts.
2388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MATTHEW N. WRIGHT IS A SCAMMER on: September 09, 2012, 07:36:21 PM
Ok,

So he was labeled a scammer not because he didn't pay his, but because he asked to be labeled a scammer.

So if someone makes a bet, then doesn't pay, but DOES NOT ask to be labeled a scammer, will that person also get a scammer tag?

It is a question that has not been answered in spite of all the responses inciting FUD.

You're not gonna get answers based on hypothetical situations with no information provided, sorry.

Thanks BadBear

So the scammer tag is speculative, not clearly defined and assigned on a case by case basis.

Thanks.

I'm not in charge of scammer tags, I'm just saying making up hypothetical situations and expecting a serious answer is kinda dumb.

Right, cause Matthew totally would have paid if only everyone hadn't been so mean, right?
We will never know....but at least everyone can rest easy now, that they were right this entire time about him being a scammer  Roll Eyes

Sadly enough...yes.

Yeah I expected something a lot better. This is more along the lines of something Atlas would do.
2393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] The world's first handheld Bitcoin device, the Ellet! on: September 09, 2012, 06:08:28 PM
How is this going? Any new deadlines?

He'll probably find some way to fuck over his customers and ship it to himself instead.
2394  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 09, 2012, 05:34:52 PM
What a fucking clown. Good job dicking over pirate debt holders even more by allowing them to "hedge" with a fraudulent bet you never intended to pay. Good job on teaching those guys a lesson  Roll Eyes.

Oh come now. Theymos allows ponzi schemes on the forum, then gets miffed when people don't read the bet their agreeing to in my thread? The double standard is twice as hilarious as the "scammer" tag. I'll wear it with pride. Remember, remember, the 9th of September. (And to everyone who dared to say that people were "stupid" and "ruining bitcoin" by investing into Pirate, you may now eat your socks for complaining about losing this bet)

Btw good job proving Atlas right about you and the bet.

Considering the time frame, a couple weeks could have been before the Don Shrents posts on the forum, which would, in my mind, reduce the chance of it being a troll/sock puppet account. So I considered it an important distinction for the discussion at hand!

Now that I think about it, I think those posts are the ones I was thinking of when I said that.
2398  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 09, 2012, 03:47:54 AM
Is it stated anywhere how long the losing side has to complete payments?

No. Technically he could lose the bet and not pay anything for a hundred years  Smiley

Fuck it, why not. Apparently hashking and imsaguy have defaulted and will take 3 years to repay.

From my limited understanding since they broke their contract rules they will still get the scammers tag.

They should yes. Although leeway has been given in the past for people who appeared to making good faith efforts to make good on their obligations (3 years is a little unreasonable though), and I don't know all the details, don't keep up with those threads. Someone should still make a thread in scammer accusations and present everything to be reviewed.

2399  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Questionable BTC Users on: September 09, 2012, 03:42:50 AM

What does anyone being able to choose any nickname have to do with anything?

He's saying there's no reason to assume the user here is Don Shrents. Given it was only registered a couple weeks ago it's far more likely it's a troll.

By "a couple weeks" do you mean "one day"?

Dang, I knew I should've looked that up before I posted.
