LOL at the arrogant replies.

1.) Why do you think is there an altcoin-subforum, is altcoin-talk is not wanted here?
2.) You claim altcoin-talk is unwanted, but you are incorrect. Just some days ago theymos added altcoin-subforums to all regional boards ... He wouldnt have done it, if talking about altcoins is not wanted here.

Looks like bitcoin community is not special, mods and old regs get arrogant, develope shortsighted thinking, acting like they know it all. Like on any other board ....

Alt currencies board was/is the alternative to just deleting them.
1442  Other / Meta / Re: Images now proxied on: December 27, 2013, 01:52:42 AM
Testing.
1443  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a trade section on here like TRADE UNWANTED CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR BTC?? on: December 26, 2013, 08:32:25 AM
Yeah we should make a marketplace type subforum, with a bunch of boards under it like goods, computer hardware, etc.
1444  Other / Meta / Re: Better organized Alternate Cryptocurrency sub-forum? on: December 26, 2013, 02:09:56 AM
Adding child boards would be more effort than most of these folks put into their crapcoins.
1445  Other / Meta / Re: This forum's software is horrible on: December 25, 2013, 10:48:35 AM
You could just click "Upgrade to SMF v2.0.x" in the admin panel...

That would likely break the custom mods he's done.
1446  Other / Meta / Re: Hey Psy, Maged, Saltyspitoon, Bad Bear and Mods! on: December 25, 2013, 10:42:00 AM
Merry Christmas to you too!

news:
We have raised the interest rate

For all who unsubscribed topic:
We do not force you  Wink we already have a lot of clients who took a chance and made a profit.

LOL Yeah that's what you needed, that's exactly what you were doing wrong before, your interest rates were too low  Roll Eyes. I know loan sharks who will give you far better rates than that, why not get your loan from them?

And where are all these 'clients'? No posts, no positive feedback, continued refusal to show block chain transactions...

Cleaned it up a bit.
1451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Women of Bitcoin, Yes there's women on: December 24, 2013, 09:16:41 AM
They're just seeking attention. Remember in grade school when boys would pull on the girls ponytails? Same principle.

Yeah make sense... Considering most people in this thread have gfs and some are even married.

Even my gf is laughing at this thread.

I wasn't talking about you or people who are just laughing at the thread, don't be so defensive.

Though your contention that men in relationships no longer seek attention from the opposite sex is beyond ridiculous.
1452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Women of Bitcoin, Yes there's women on: December 24, 2013, 08:20:19 AM
It's reading threads like this and the crude, biased comments that are coming from several of the men here that makes me realize what an uphill battle we are going to have getting more women into the Bitcoin space. I've posted about women and Bitcoin on here before, we all want to see Bitcoin succeed and so long as we snicker and make disparaging remarks about women here, especially at public events this isn't going to help the cause one iota.

How would you feel if the situation was reversed and Bitcoin was a largely female dominated space? Imagine going to a conference or participating in a forum where 97% of the other guests are all women and you as a male are in the minority there.

Sure, some guys might think they can handle that but then mix in an undercurrent hostile feminism combined with anti-male sentiment and nobody taking you seriously because of your gender - you start to get an idea of how some women might feel in an environment like that to the point of giving up and leaving entirely.

Fortunately it's usually not that bad but all it does take is just a couple of bad actors to give the whole Bitcoin movement a negative reputation for women. Bitcoin is meant to be all inclusive - not just a boy's club.

At the end of the day, the few women that are genuinely into Bitcoin right now need to be treated as equal peers and given the same respect as any other member of the community. If anything they should be recognized as our best ambassadors for moving ahead and helping Bitcoin to get greater acceptance and credibility in the wider community - regardless of gender.

That just my 2 Satoshi's worth here... </rant>

They're just seeking attention. Remember in grade school when boys would pull on the girls ponytails? Same principle.

Somebody sent me a pm calling me a fuckface.  Embarrassed

Nothing other than that, but it's early still.
1454  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: December 24, 2013, 02:26:12 AM
I don't like posting about moderation outside of meta or pms, but I don't want people to think that this is okay.

No more warnings, it's proven ineffective. We've moved onto bans. Some temporary, some not. Stop with the off topic garbage/bickering already.

This thread wastes far too much of our time, we have better things to do than babysit this thread and continually delete off topic posts. If you've gotten a warning from a moderator, or if you regularly have your posts deleted by a moderator (counts as a warning), and you weren't banned, then tread carefully because there is a list of people who haven't been banned yet.

And don't respond to this post, it will just be deleted. Either pm salty (preferred), or make a thread in meta about it.

Never seen that, that's cool.

Also card readers come in handy, lot easier to pop the card in that try to dig out cables. I got drawers full of cables, don't even know what half go to anymore.

1456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixers on: December 24, 2013, 01:50:23 AM
Mixers are really not needed anymore. If you want to mix your coins, simply register with any exchange, send your coins to them, create a new wallet, and withdraw your coins from the exchange to that wallet. Bam! Your coins are now untraceable.

As was mentioned, depends on who's doing the looking. joe Schmoe tracking using the blockchain? Yeah, that works. Someone who can look at records from the exchange? Won't work.
1457  Other / Meta / Re: [BUG] "new message" stuck on: December 23, 2013, 07:58:43 AM
I have far more pms than that, never had that problem, something else you did must've fixed it.
1458  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.4BTC/month just by posting! - Advertise for PrimeDice.com! *Updated on: December 23, 2013, 07:38:19 AM
I think it would be greater if Stunna will choose xx(x?) people to write and give them a little bit better payment that it was before.

Why would he do that?

Maybe, to stop spammers from abusing his service? I like this idea too, since it would give prevalence to quality before quantity...

Isn't it pretty easy catch spammers already?

Depends how Stunna checks the content of your posts.

And from an advertising point of view, quality of posts is irrelevant really, as it's more about quantity if you think about it. The advertising is effective at getting PrimeDice's name out there as pretty much every thread will have several PD sigs, so it's more effective for Stunna to have as many people as possible posting as opposed to a handful of "quality" posters.

Stunna, drop bounty to 0.0001 per post and allow spam Cheesy

He can allow whatever he wants, we'll still ban you for it.
1459  Other / Meta / Re: Moderator application on: December 23, 2013, 07:11:11 AM
Gonna be honest, when I think of bitpop I'm closer to thinking troll or spammer, certainly not moderator. Your whole 'troll the trolls' schtick hasn't done you any favors.

What problems do you see that you think you can resolve better than others, cause I don't see you ever reporting anything.
1460  Other / Meta / Re: petition to rename bitcointalk dogecointalk on: December 23, 2013, 06:44:24 AM
Should be max limit for altcoin topics. For example, 5 topics per altcoin.

I like this idea, just needs slight modification.

0 threads per altcoin. Smiley
