241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA vs Smart DCA, what do you choose? on: March 22, 2024, 10:54:52 PM
I thought that DCA is just DCA, no matter what time of the market you do it, it's just that? Quite surprised to see that this isn't the case but I guess, I know now. What's exactly the difference of normal DCA to a smart DCA though besides the Smart DCA having to do with the price correction? Wouldn't it be an obvious thing to do to adjust your DCA when the price starts to go down or up in prices? I think that we're just messing with a lot of people now with this thing that there's an addition of another kind of DCA, just call it DCA if you ask me, it's not like there's a difference, at the least DCA as we know it is flexible enough unlike with this new one, that seems to rely on predicting the price of bitcoin just to make sure that it works well, it could in theory work well but I don't think that every person has the foresight required to do it really well.

243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: in future are you hoping to see some countries in Africa legalis bitcoin. on: March 22, 2024, 03:01:38 PM
I'm all for prosperity in a country so yes, I am hoping to see a lot of African countries get in line and adopt bitcoin, although I hope that it's not going to be a rich people only kind of prosperity because as it stands, bitcoin is for everyone who can afford to buy a bitcoin so I know for a fact that those that have the money will probably exploit the adoption and make sure that they've got the first place again against other people that really needed the bitcoin. I know that this isn't just a one continent issue though as this kind of inequality is prevalent in many countries too from different continents.

I do believe too that bitcoin is a symbol of waking up to the oppression that the masses endure so I'm all for it even more that bitcoin becomes a legal thing and that it's the best thing to happen, I'm sure that each adoption of bitcoin in Africa is going to be a monumental thing.

245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A weird interview on: March 21, 2024, 11:41:55 PM
It's weird for those outside of the bitcoin circle so forgive that interviewer saying that to you, I'm sure that he/she doesn't know any better, another reason why I think that interviewer said that your answer is weird is because they don't know how to deal with it or how to make it so that they're not being stupid so that's their only response. Another reason I can think of is a bit scummy on their side which is that they don't like the answer and they're biased and expected you to answer the question with something mundane like get together with your family or celebrate your freedom or anything like that, probably wanted to put their answers in your mouth but they can't because they'd sound biased if they force it.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple Is biggest Enemy of Bitcoin on: March 21, 2024, 04:31:51 PM
Even if they spend hundreds of billions for that kind of attack, I don't think that we're ever going to see any change in bitcoin, in fact, the moment that bitcoin becomes Ripple's target means that they're going to give bitcoin more popularity and people that's invested in bitcoin doesn't really care too much about what others will say about bitcoin in a negative manner because at the end of the day, bitcoin is the one that will always come out on top. If Ripple doesn't even try to do other things, we'd probably see no results with what they're currently doing, they need to do some planning regarding how to impact bitcoin market in a negative way and without that plan ever biting them from the ass when they execute that plan.
247  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic growth and it effect on the standard of living on: March 21, 2024, 07:56:00 AM
It's not an economic growth if the people that's responsible for the production of quality goods and services can't afford those very things that they've made, that economic growth should also factor in the poverty rate, the salary increase of a minimum wage worker and many other things. The kind of growth where the people are left behind isn't really the best kind of growth in a country. With the kind of economic growth model that we've got, it's definitely going to affect our standard of living but for the worse because things are getting more expensive but the money to afford them isn't going up per person then what's the point then, the growth will only be beneficial to the businesses that's selling those product not those at the bottom line.
248  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and it's holders in our society on: March 21, 2024, 03:52:19 AM
I don't think that's something that anyone should be experiencing because that's crime no matter how you look at it, they did some illegal searches on your phone which is considered a personal stuff so even if they're a police, there's no way that they're allowed to do that without a warrant. This kind of thing just makes me hate even more the profession of a police, there's no way that you'll have to overexert your power to the people that you're supposed to be protecting, makes me respect them less when they do this kind of thing.
Many people call it a bad apple, the problem is there are too many bad apples and we don't even know which one is bad apple and which one is not, so we judge every of them are bad apples. Tongue

Privacy is nothing in developing country, even a teacher or employer did that.
Regards to bad apples, if you put it with good apples, it will almost always infect the good ones so one bad cop will almost always influence or corrupt a good cop no matter how you look at it, that's going to be the case, unless they do some real consequences to these abusive cops that literally don't have any kind of importance to the society besides using their power to harass the people that they're supposed to protect with impunity, not to mention that these tradition of buddy buddy within the cops circle is contributing to the ongoing corruption of these groups, a good cop would cover for their bad colleagues and they end up with a corrupt hierarchy.

Now that I've seen this happen to someone, I guess it's time for me to find a phone that hides my important apps in the case that this might happen to me although I wish it doesn't but with all this stuff happening to someone, I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
250  Economy / Economics / Re: The Prices of Labour. on: March 20, 2024, 04:01:20 AM
Here we can only speculate because we don't know the professor's background so there will be various assumptions about his salary. But if he is a university teacher at a college, of course he has legal status and will definitely receive a standard salary allocation and allowances. Well, if you still say you feel inadequate or perhaps the professor is actually teaching at a private lecture. Furthermore, there is clarity regarding government programs, we also don't know what is happening there, economic growth, etc., it will be very difficult to determine the total average monthly salary of a teaching staff.
You can always ask, I will assume that professor is an amicable person so I'm definitely sure he wouldn't mind any kind of inquiry and as an inquirer it's your duty to not step over the line, when they say stop, you stop. I don't agree about government programs not being transparent, once it becomes that way, there's something fishy behind it. I think if we're talking about government programs, we should also talk about the people running the show for it, because a program will only be as good and competent as the person that's behind it and if they're incompetent and stupid, rest assured that the program is in the wrong hands.

Regarding the price of labour, my only take on this is that we're not being taken advantage of by the company or organizations that we're working for, and that we all should be able to demand a salary increase because the inflation rate is skyrocketing and the salary hasn't even increased, the productivity also increased but there seems to be no indication that salary increase is nigh, I think that it should be a basic human right to be working and getting paid the appropriate amount to live and not survive.
251  Other / Meta / Re: Reasons of be inactive on: March 20, 2024, 03:27:31 AM
It could be the reason and I don't see how that can be wrong though, you're on this forum just to make money, maybe you have that freedom but the downside of being inactive after no campaigns come your way is the fact that once you get going again, you're going to need to be active all over again and you need to earn them merits to stay in the options of campaign managers. There's also the reason that people have lives outside of this forum, they're living breathing human beings that have other things that they've got to do, so whenever they become inactive or their activities are decreased, maybe something outside of the forum is keeping them busy.
252  Other / Meta / Re: Only Bitcoin related posts are allowed in Local Languages Section? on: March 20, 2024, 02:35:54 AM
I'm with the Pakistani local board on this. When you have just a local thread to discuss everything about cryptocurrency, both local and international news, then one would need the freedom to discuss multiple topics on that thread, including off topic content as well, cause there is no where else to do that.
Exactly, unlike with my Local Board (Pilipinas) there's some separation since there's a different board for that. It's a good thing that this has come to light though because it tackles the issue that needs to be talked about, and I think that if this isn't solved, it's probably a good time to talk about adding a board that's appropriate for the deleted posts so everyone's happy. That's probably the only way that both parties can be satisfied, the thread will be clean and people can still talk about the stuff unrelated to that thread with freedom and without the worry that it will get the deleted just because it's posted in the wrong place.
253  Other / Meta / Re: My Experience with Common Forum Errors Which I have Encountered on: March 19, 2024, 05:36:26 PM
How did you get that second error though? That's definitely not something that's happened to a lot of people in the forum and what exactly is the implication of this that's lead you to grow a bit concerned about the issue. If it's a database error then it's got to do with your queries or something that's probably not your fault as you don't have any control over the database of the forum.

Is this like a consistent error for you? If so then you probably need to check all the things that you're using with the forum, could be your Internet connection but you've answered that part, could be your browser? Or just do what @KingsDen is doing when this errors occurs, just hit the refresh button. If there's an error to your account if that refresh solution don't work, you can always ask for the help needed to fix the account.
254  Economy / Gambling / Re: xyro.io on: March 19, 2024, 04:37:34 PM
As @Alphakilo has mentioned, it's best that you move this to the Gambling board, at the bottom left of this thread, click the Move Topic button and select the appropriate board this thread belongs to and in the case of this one, it's a good idea to follow what's already been said. Now on the topic of your promotion of your gambling habit, you probably would benefit a lot if you check out all of the other gambling websites that are promoting their brand here because all of them got a really good thread and they've put in the effort into making their thread starters more attractive and vibrant so people would actually check out. Some advertisements like what you're trying might work but trite and boring one liners aren't really welcomed in this forum.
255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the Best Option: Because of Dollar Rate Cost of Living is on the Peak on: March 19, 2024, 03:14:59 PM
I don't know how bad the economy is in your country but even if everyone in your country uses bitcoin and the price skyrockets to an ungodly price, the economy would still be so bad because of the factor that not every person that's holding a bitcoin is going to be a responsible person, the moment that you get a bitcoin and that you can sell it for so much, a lot of those people are going to choose the route of selling quickly. It will improve the lives of everyone that would sell and may boost the economy for some time but it's not a long-term prosperity that's going to lead anyone to a really good kind of growth. Economics is a difficult thing to tackle on and even harder to solve with just one simple solution, if that was the case, a lot of countries would be fighting over bitcoins that are newly minted and they want to get it as soon as possible so they can improve their economy.
256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ~~~When did you first heard about bitcoin 2024 Halving edition~~ on: March 19, 2024, 12:47:24 PM
I'm sure that your country has some form of dollar exchange if you couldn't find a way to buy bitcoin because there's no way that if it's a foreign currency at that time that Mt. Gox is going to get paid in that currency besides the dollar or other popular currency at that time, another thing is that if you've got Mt. Gox at that time then you'd probably be one of the suckers that would've had their bitcoins stolen. I think that you did just fine with your mining in 2012 but it feels bad to see what happened to that HDD and it's not really your fault that you've become serious about bitcoin in 2022, back then it's worthless or close to worthless and a lot of people aren't taking bitcoin seriously. I've heard bitcoin the same as the year that I've created this account or maybe a bit of a month earlier.
257  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Most secure wallet / hardware wallet for long term storage 2024 ? on: March 19, 2024, 10:27:06 AM
There's not a lot of replies yet but I can tell that cold wallets are going to be the best one still, and I can attest to that since that's where I store my bitcoin for the long-term, not to mention that it's easy to use since there's a tutorial, if y'all are curious how to create your own cold storage wallet, check out @Aanouluwatofunmi's post, you got there the instructions to make one.

Another thing why I think that cold wallets are still the top pick is that it's obviously the most secured of them all storages out there, if it's not connected to the Internet then there's no way that someone can get into your bitcoins, it's also the fact that they're obsoletion resistance like this is the peak of this and it can never be more better. Kind of like if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Have to remember though, even if you think that they're safe, this whole stuff is reliant on how you do things, if you are bad at securing stuff and careless about this kind of stuff, even that cold wallet isn't going to save from malicious groups of people from stealing your money.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop adding features to Bitcoin that don't facilitate its use as electronic cash on: March 19, 2024, 04:38:47 AM
Ordinals, Runes and anything that is decreasing the efficiency of the network while increasing fees. The purpose of the network is to provide a "peer-to-peer electronic cash" system.  Anything that is not directly related to this mission should not be in the code.
This I can totally agree, these feature shouldn't be a thing in the first place but we've got a lot of those fuckers that want to do stupid and useless stuff in bitcoin and so we end up with this, the transaction fees are just not that tolerable for some in my opinion, some people that I know personally that have bitcoins, would risk putting their bitcoins in a centralized exchange just so they don't have to worry too much about transaction fees in the case that bitcoin goes up in price and they want to take profit.

There's already a solution to ordinals and inscriptions if I recall but the devs aren't putting it yet because with higher transaction fees, miners are making more money.
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Soo, bitcoin is now over 70K on: March 18, 2024, 02:34:42 PM
Well, that's the consequence of putting your money somewhere that's not you that's in control. This is probably the very manifestation of the phrase, "not your keys, not your coins." I know that it's such a sad affair for OP right now but you'll have to remember that you can probably file for the stolen bitcoins because there's definitely a lot of people that's going to be filing for claims and they're not going to be backing down without getting anything back from SBF, I hope that while the justice system deals with them, you'd be able to get your money back.

May let this be a lesson for everyone that if this can happen to OP, it can probably happen to you. Just put your coins to your own wallet, it's not that difficult to have your own wallet and store it, don't mind the transaction fees because it's inevitable that you're going to encounter them no matter how much you avoid them.
260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Man bet his life savings on 1 spin of Roulette on: March 17, 2024, 09:05:59 AM
He has been very lucky, but people shouldn't try to imitate him because they can lose everything dy boing that and litteraly go bankrupt
That's the moral of this story, just because they can do it doesn't mean that you can, we all got different strokes of luck in us and this man just so happens is the kind of person that's got the God's favor and his gamble paid off. It's also not recommended to do this no matter how lucky you're feeling right now because when the results finally show, that's what matters the most and at the end of the day, you're going to be the one regretting that decision.

It's kind of awesome and crazy how he's able to pull of this kind of stupidity because when you look at it, it's risky to the highest degree since he's betting his life savings in one spin, my guess is that this guy has something hideous planned after that roulette in the case that he loses, that's the action that's most notable when it comes to people that have nothing to lose anymore. Maybe in a way, betting his life savings did made him a man with nothing to lose.
