We are aware of connection problems and are working on it. Sorry for the trouble.

We are back up now.

Can You elect which address BTC comes from in MultiBit or Electrum???

Thanks!

You can do it in a slightly clunky way with Electrum. You can mark addresses as "preferred" or "frozen" in the right way to get it to make the transaction you desire.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anti-Bitcoin Radio ad on: April 19, 2013, 12:47:16 AM

"Bitcoin is bad because a long time ago some different thing issued by government turned out not to work as promised".

What incredible logic.

Makes me want to sell the gold I just bought (with bitcoins btw).
245  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-17 Business Wire "Foodler Becomes First Food Ordering Service to Accept" on: April 18, 2013, 12:03:09 AM

In case it wasn't clear I was only commenting on the non-factual title of the article. That other site was probably in the news a year ago, and I am not affiliated with them and there is no current press about them that I am aware of.

Anyone ever claiming that something is the first either needs to check through the history of the world or risk probably being wrong.

The Sunday Big BTC is now a 1 BTC entry with 40 BTC guaranteed prize pool. It starts in about 2.5 hours.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: building up an economy for Bitcoin on: April 14, 2013, 07:30:01 PM
Every currency has an exchange rate with every other. People who use both look at the relevant rate frequently, it has nothing to do with being 'real'.

Fixing prices in BTC terms can still be useful though. Some benefits that come to mind:

Users can know how much they need exactly. If a server bill is calculated last second or changes every 10 minutes that can be annoying.
Your shopping cart won't freak out or give a wrong price when Gox data is wrong or unavailable.
It is a built in discount when coins are 'cheap'. Probably bad if your marginal cost has a large fiat denominated component but good for  items with very low marginal cost (music, software, virtual game objects, entry to a movie theater).
249  Other / Meta / Seals thread in Gambling on: April 14, 2013, 07:12:35 PM
Somehow Seals thread got locked (not by me, I tried the unlock, no luck). I'm not sure who the Gambling mod is so I emailed theymos 24 hours ago (how dare he take break) . If anyone else can help that would be great.
250  Economy / Gambling / Re: Seals With Clubs Bitcoin Poker on: April 14, 2013, 04:58:31 AM
I don't know why the thread is locked. I assume theymos will fix it when he is available.

OP, you should propose something to admin@sealswithclubs.eu to make sure you are able to deliver before offering anything to players.

The new 0.5-1 games have a 5 chip rake cap while the 1-2 game has a 4 chip rake cap and the 1-1 game used to have a 2 chip rake cap.

Before when you clicked the bet slider it increased by big blinds and now it goes up 0.01 chips.

Version 0.2.12 is up now and fixes the slider problem.

Rake will be tweaked some more, but lower games will have higher BB caps.

Somehow there is a 0.5/1 NLHE 6-max with 9 seats  Huh

Ah, my mistake. I'm not going to interrupt the game, but I'll make real 6 max now.
253  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: April 12, 2013, 09:19:30 AM
Yes, .5/1 ring games are available now. Unfortunately, they can't be in the launcher until some bugs are fixed which may take several days. I added some manually and I can take requests for more.

We are going offline for maintenance in about 60 minutes. Hopefully we'll be back within 30 minutes.
255  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-10 NaturalNews: The bitcoin bubble explained on: April 10, 2013, 09:37:54 PM
I want to apologize for being part of the sell-off.  180 was my limit.  It wasn't a panic sell, but calculated to cover my initial investment without having to lose all my coin.  You know, I had a feeling that what was mentioned in this article was the case when it happened earlier.  Don't know why, but just thought that the market was small enough that the banks could manipulate it so easily by buying and selling.  My gut feelings have proven true in the past, I should listen to them more often. The past two days there has been this nagging and negative feeling about btc, but I didn't pay any attention to it, chalking it up to the bad press planting seeds(even though I had laughed at it when reading).  Oh, well.   Bet they wet themselves.  And it's climbing again.  Guess my negative feelings were just about my idiot self selling and not btc. But at least I stuck to my plan. (?)  Guess I'm not a spartan, after all.  Cry

Now that I have insured my initial investment has been safely covered and the other half of my btc are just profit to let ride till the end, I can say:

Panic sellers SUCK.  Stay the fuck out of bitcoin!!     Roll Eyes

So you like Bitcoin but hate people who are willing to sell them to you cheaply?
256  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: April 10, 2013, 04:36:31 AM
Fractional chips are the way to go.  Revaluing chips would confuse people and someone would lose their shirt somehow.
Hopefully they won't have to go too far doing this; if BTC's value goes high enough then everyone's going to have to start playing in special micro-chips or something.  Revaluing chips would be pretty straightforward the way I described it but if they did it right as the BTC market crashed then it would be a mess -- but then again it would have been anyway as cashouts are manual and they'd be flooded with cashout requests, which might then be delayed.

That is simple for us to do, but it will result in misunderstanding no matter how many warnings we give. People will make mistakes about what stakes they play and size of cashouts (important if paying for something for example). People have loans and staking deals that certainly could be correctly adjusted, but we don't want to give people that hassle unexpectedly. Logs would become very confusing as well.

Fractional is more work, but it won't be long now.

258  Economy / Gambling / Re: KOSH123 (Sealswithclubs player) STOLE 3 BTC on: April 09, 2013, 07:34:08 PM
I don't think it is important, but the username was KOTH123.

Do not use your password at other sites. If you do you may be robbed. If you give your password to strangers setting up new bitcoin gambling sites that advertise themselves primarily in Seals chat you will almost definitely get robbed.

Two factor auth is available now for Seals accounts. Make sure you have a valid email on file with us and then activate it at:

Time to update the rake. Currently rake cap is over $5, so if you want to advertise that you are cheaper than the industry standard you need keep up with the price.

It will be updated today.

NL and PL 6max and 9max have a global 10 chip (0.01 BTC) max.
Limit and all HU games have a 7 chip (0.007 BTC) max.

All rakeback still applies.
