Embarrassed
So what to do with the BTC while the Price drop?
Waiting?
I purchased some btc  today.

If you like playing the market, follow Phil and buy a little coin, set it aside until the price climbs back up, and sell it off.  Otherwise, unless you run your miners on a tight budget that is dependent on btc market value, nothing to do but keep on mining.  Enough of these hacks have happened that the market reaction can be predicted, generally, and I expect it will bounce back shortly.
242  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BCMonster.com Mining Pool / [PPLNS Payout][Pays TxFee] on: August 01, 2016, 05:39:36 PM
Wow, nice job, congrats to the BCMonster crew!  Glad to see the little guys pulling in a block, especially on someone's native hardware, even cooler.  Cool
243  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150TH] [PPLNS 0.5%] Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: July 29, 2016, 06:37:29 PM
Don't forget everyone, I'm still offering up the 1BTC bonus to our next block finder.  Let's get her done!
If you can arrange something with the weather so that it stops being 105*F every day, I'll happily point my 5TH back here.  Grin
244  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Lifetime pool luck for antpool vs kano.is or why aren't you mining with kano.is on: July 29, 2016, 06:36:13 PM
I did some test mining a whole week in ckpool and I concluded that F2Pool pays more.

0.024 BTC per day (F2pool) vs 0.016 per day (Kano.is)

I have not the details but Im coming back to F2pool.
Wow, you mined for a whole week?  Well that clearly shows your understanding of how to determine profitability and identify a proper time frame within witch to evaluate pool performance.  Roll Eyes

Did you even read this thread?

Looks like a little upturn in network hash power, possible some of this drop really was old gear coming off line and we'll see a bit of the new gear start to come back in and take its place.  Although it would be nice to see a few periods of negative adjustment while maintaining a strong btc price.

By "custom" he meant the antpoo fork of cgminer, which is notorious for incorrectly reporting the best share, among other things.
247  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: July 27, 2016, 11:46:02 PM
In your command line or batch file that you use to launch cgminer you need to put your own btc address (or user name) in for the user, and your password if the pool requires one.  If you post up your batch file we can show you exactly what needs to change.

That being said, imo, most n00bs are not going to understand what "1 in 1,929.6" means in answer to the question "What are my chances..." (even if they use the word "probability").
Then that's a perfect time for them to do a little reading and *gasp* maybe actually learn something new!  God forbid people actually try to learn and become bigger people and figure out what they are spending their time doing.

When I was in high school I scooped ice cream and I used to take the big foam panels that the cones came in and staple them to the wall of the sound room my friend and I built to play music in.  If you want to deaden the sound then you need to cover every square inch of the walls, maybe ceiling too.  But if you are just playing with room acoustics then a few well placed sound absorbers can work wonders.
250  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Lifetime pool luck for antpool vs kano.is or why aren't you mining with kano.is on: July 27, 2016, 04:19:06 PM
Why give (false?) impressions and try to lure people with bells and whistles?  You even admitted, once you learned you moved to kano, so will the other newbies.  I don't think he cares to attract people (or waste his coding time) with fluff and no substance when that effort could be put into making the pool actually run better, not just look different.

-8.5 for me
Please revise your guess into the proper format for Phil's ease of use.

Wow look at that diff drop!  Go go go go down down down, just don't let the price follow please.

Mikestang = -7.7
252  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: July 25, 2016, 07:13:55 PM
Is it good to put all miners in a box? Does it lower the temperature inside?
No, it would be a terrible idea to put your miners in a box.  But if you were to put them in a proper rack enclosure with the right ventilation then they should run at a good temp. and noise may be reduced depending on how it is vented and cooled.
253  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: ¤¤¤¤ antrun.de - Antrouter R1 Fun-Run - compare your share ¤¤¤¤ on: July 25, 2016, 07:11:28 PM
44M is a very respectable share for the R1, nice one.  So far this run my R1 is beating my gekko stick for best share, funny how that can work some times.
254  Other / Archival / Re: Diff thread July 18 to Aug 1st? picks are yet to start! prize = $50 usd on: July 25, 2016, 07:07:17 PM
Wow, I was out of town away from a computer all weekend and look at that drop off!  Definitely gear being shut off around the globe.  Whether it's temporary because of summer heat and electricity bills, or a sign of things to come I'm not complaining.  Let's go big!  Big negative.  Grin

Hey philip I got a quick question: How would the halving interfere with any of the sites hash calculations?
Do we know how these sites calculate (estimate would be a more accurate word) network hash rate?  If we know their method we might be able to figure out why.
256  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 187 blocks solved! on: July 21, 2016, 05:15:47 PM
Been solo mining at this pool for over a year, label me however it makes you happy.

...
So much hate, and totally off topic.

@liveflipcoin ,
It might have made sense if he called you the "stalker" Tongue
You are correct, I misplaced that label (need to work on my reading comprehension, as you noted) and you have my apology.

Calm down guys, do I have to start deleting posts?
If you feel it's necessary, please do, I try not to fan the flames.

Question for the people pointing rentals at this pool-
who are you renting from?
With all the scams these days, I wouldn't trust a rental company without some good recommendations.
My only experience is with NiceHash and I've always been happy with the service they provide.  Although renting hash is basically gambling and I've never had any luck gambling, so I don't rent often.
257  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: July 20, 2016, 11:08:23 PM
There's bugs in the bitmain fork of cgminer that causes many of their miners to not display a best share in the gui, but I couldn't explain why a best share would be reported on one pool but not another unless it's something germane to the pool code.

As I have mentioned graphs right now seem to be wrong:

the gray line  on bitcoinwisdom is not correct.
we never did the 1650ph it shows for yesterday

So two of three major sites are wrong

So it has me wondering, were the "spikes" we were seeing on the bitcoinwisdom graphs for all these adjustments fake spikes?  Did the number of solved blocks during those spikes correspond with the rise and fall of network hash rate?  I honestly didn't pay that close of attention, but now it brings to question many months of data tracking.
259  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE servers 187 blocks solved! on: July 20, 2016, 06:39:53 PM
You guys are silly, y'all sure read a lot into my post.  Thanks for all the love, I had no idea I had so many followers.

Stalker much?  Work on your reading comprehension.

I'm liking the green blocks!! For you veteran miners out there, do you reinvest your mining rewards into more hardware (hashpower) or do you cash out? Just trying to get a feel for the different methods to the madness. On a side note, i've been impressed with the kano pool support, everyone i've contacted has been polite even with my noob questions.
I'm definitely not a "veteran", but I've been mining for over a year so I guess I'm not a newbie either.  Personally, I've kept every satoshi I have mined, which isn't that much because I only have a few pieces of gear.  I've spent more in electricity than I got back in coin, but I do this for a fun hobby, and for the good of the network (I run a full node and only mine places that do not spv mine or produce empty blocks).  I've used btc to purchase things, but I always just buy that coin outright, then use it for the purchase.  I am hoping that btc will be worth significantly more than it is today (I've see coin around $130/coin, and at over $600 now we're going the right direction), and so all I've wanted it to have some coin in a wallet that someday might be worth more than I put into making it.
