241  Economy / Economics / Re: When luxury becomes a necessity. on: March 07, 2024, 11:02:04 PM
~
Well productiveness can also be enhanced if whatever you're using is comfortable to use and in general, most luxurious stuff can be the ones that'd give you said comfort. But there's a limit I say. It's to the level where buying stuff after a certain point of performance just doesn't mean anything since, well, it provides you with minimal increase in comparison to buying something on the bottom end. You can liken it I guess to the GPU market, upgrading from say 1050 to an RTX 3000 or even just 2000 is a huge upgrade. but moving from a 3000 to a 4000 just doesn't seem that worth it in most cases.

There's also the difference between luxurious stuff that is "useful" and, well, luxurious stuff. Stuff that are just plated with stuff that scream "I'm rich" just to showcase that, well, they're rich.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How bullish are we in this bull run? on: March 07, 2024, 10:01:17 PM
Idk, if they're not bullish I think they just either invested rather late into the market or the coin they invested on didn't just go up (due to maybe idk, being scammed by social media to thinking it's something good lol). I've been DCA'ing into Bitcoin for quite a bit now and I have to say It's been pretty great so far. I can at least see that most of my initial period of DCA has doubled, while the rest of the period pretty much grew more than its initial. Pretty happy with it really.
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indirect victims of gambling addiction on: March 06, 2024, 10:48:43 PM
~
You can basically sum it up to anyone that the person with addiction interacts with really. At least to the level of where they are either involved with each other everyday, or to the point where said addict can ask for money from the other party with no repercussions. Yes, I'd even include the ones that give loans here, even ones outside of personal relationships e.g., banks/loan sharks. They technically still get affected but I don't think banks (or any proper establishment really) would ever give out a loan to someone with a record of gambling expenditure that big to warrant a loan, it's why credit exists nowadays after all.

But well outside of gambling that's literally what happens even if you just simply exist. You affect everyone you interact with. Addiction simply amplifies one factor/portion of it which is money/financial-related stuff.
244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: March 06, 2024, 09:40:59 PM

In the world of betting where decisions can increase or decrease your chances of winning, it is important to understand the influence of emotions on the decision-making process. Our mood can greatly influence the choices we make, and this also applies to in-play betting. Whether you're feeling elated, frustrated, or anxious, your emotional state can greatly impact your ability to make rational decisions and ultimately determine the outcome of your bets.
In sports betting maybe. In casino games? Ehh in hindsight it's just bias. I recently described it as something you'd only realize AFTER it has already happened, which creates a bias inside you that you think you were right beforehand when in reality, similar instances but the opposite happened has always been happening, you just don't remember it.

How do we regulate our emotions while betting and how important is it?
If you're playing for fun then set a limit. Honestly letting loose is what having fun is for the most part, so trying to regulate whatever you're trying to enjoy kind of sucks the joy out of it, so the best way here is to limit what it can affect you. In this case, well, money.

If you were doing it to earn money though, then I'd suggest giving up but if you want to then yeah, regulate your emotions. After all, playing to earn it technically has no limit since it's an infinite cycle of you losing money, trying to recoup, winning it back, betting to get more, and then losing it all again.
245  Economy / Speculation / Re: A whale took profits for the first time since 2010 sold 1000 Bitcoins on: March 06, 2024, 09:19:46 PM
~

I mean, it's been so long so I reckon a lot of old wallets would take profit. I reckon they wanted to wait more when the last ATH happened but well, it corrected itself pretty fast so I guess they didn't have that opportunity. I'm guessing they changed their minds this time around and just wanted to profit when it reached the last time they wanted to do profit.

I'd do the same really. Probably not as long, but I'd profit out whenever I want to, and wait if it hasn't reached what I want (if it hasn't changed). We might be all hodling but at some point, we're all going to sell to profit it out anyway. And it's money that we can afford to lose and, well, at some point said money wouldn't even provide any losses for you even if you sold early since you've been hodling for so long.
246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you experience this sometimes? on: March 05, 2024, 11:06:43 PM
~
Isn't that just... idk, biased? Can't find a better term to describe it lol. Like yes, we sometimes feel that this certain scenario can (or can't) happen so we hesitate, but we still bet against said instinct. The thing is, we don't mind it when it's a success, but we tend to remember and over analyze it when it's a failure (aka the instinct we had was correct). Cause of that, we think that it always happens since it's always this stuff that we do remember, hence why I called it bias.

And yes, I've felt it myself before. Just as often as how I felt something and was immediately proved wrong afterward. You're probably just overthinking it OP.
247  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Or Investing which one is better to focus on right now? on: March 05, 2024, 10:48:40 PM
~
Investing. I actually went trading the first time I got into crypto. Needless to say, it was a pain in the ass, kept panicking about price drops of 1%-5%, kept missing short opportunities and just kept losing profit overall. Swapped to DCA'ing and just let it be till this day. It's so  comfortable.

I reckon I can do some short trading now compared to before since I was completely ignorant, but I'd still prefer investing instead since it just removes so much stress from me.
248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Discrepancies in Casino Experiences on: March 05, 2024, 09:30:19 PM

Never had any issues, or at least big ones that went unresolved before since customer support has always given me answers on what I should do or when to expect stuff to happen. I guess I feel pretty lucky? I mean it's not like I don't feel their frustration. I guess the only difference is mine went fine and was resolved in the end, while theirs is either unresolved or they're just completely fed up with it and hence went to the internet to rant.

Well in most cases that I see like this I either don't really give a damn unless asked or it's become my issue. A person on the internet is not something you'd want to ask "what" to do when you're having problems with a service, you ask the support. And in most cases, I don't see why support would willingly block you for a few hundred or thousands of dollars now when they can get more in the long run, unless you did break some terms with them or they detected something.

Well the hard part here is trying to tell whether both sides are telling the truth or not, so yea, I try not to stick my nose around it. Maybe read the issue and whatnot and give some regular steps to do, and that's about it.
249  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin all time high, is it ETF effects or pre halving cycle on: March 04, 2024, 10:51:13 PM
Most likely ETF? I don't think pre-halving had this much of an influence in the market before. Similar effects were only ever seen afaik after the halving itself, at a period of half a year to a year after it. Maybe the ETF and pre-halving had such a synergistic effect towards each other hence why the effect bubbled up so much.

Used to think a couple of weeks back we'd only be expecting ATH after the halving, but now at its current pace? With it being at $67k as I write this, I don't think there's much to question about it anymore. Definitely going to see a new ATH even before halving happens.
250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which of these betting Statements Do you Agree or Disagree With? on: March 04, 2024, 09:33:37 PM
~
I don't agree with 1 and 2, do agree with 3 and 4. There are times when I just go yolo and bet everything in one crash game or one slots game. It ends the run early, yes, but hey it's what I want anyway. Plus it.'s a bigger thrill, which is what I'm probably looking for or I'm just feeling extremely lucky for some reason. As for 2, while I do bet my money on multiple instances, it usually varies. What it varies on though, idrk, my mood I guess? To add I also agree with the 5%-10% thing, heck I only usually gamble away 5% or so, maybe even less if there's leftovers in my account after a session.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can You Really Build Web3 Communities By Paying for Engagement? on: March 04, 2024, 09:17:38 PM
~
A human bot. I don't see how any of that is going to work out as proper engagement in the long run. Sure, it works early on, and anyone who applies to it if they're a small content creator would see gains and attention. But later on? They'd probably lose half, maybe more when they stop using said service to attract viewers. Yes, they may attract people who will stay, but if you're willing to pay people to get attention, I don't think you'd be willing to lose it, regardless if they really like you or are paid to do so in the first place.

Not to mention I'm talking about a human bot, if it was a really bot forget attention, you wouldn't even get real people to talk to and interact with in that specific social media which is in this case, twitter/X

Anyway, I don't think it's a sketch, paying people for Twitter engagement has been a long-time kind of thing afaik. But, again, human bots are okay, but if said human bots were to turn into real bots, the economy of that specific coin, $REACH as you said, would probably go haywire in the long run.
252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which player are you? on: March 04, 2024, 12:05:55 PM
Do you prefer games where you know right away whether you've won (or lost) casino style, or do you prefer other games like sports betting? Do you have any other favorite games?
I love crash. Ever since I discovered about it it's been a top favorite. It even took over my liking for Poker and Blackjack which were what I mostly used to play back then. On another hand I'm more often seen doing sports gambling instead of casino games since the tournament season for eSports is up and about. Not the major tournaments though so I only bet once or twice every now and then. I reckon I'd be more active betting with it once the world-level tourney comes up.

If I were to compare what I like better from the two, then can't really answer. I like both just the same.
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Work Now May Not Work Tomorrow on: March 04, 2024, 03:59:32 AM

Yea I didn't think said "pattern" would last really. Heck, I'm actually surprised he was able to use it for 2 days. I reckon that's already pretty good considering all the patterns you'd be able to find and use with the game. I personally rarely remember patterns, if I ever do use them. Probably the closest thing I do is create a reasoning for as to why said game would end up like this, like that based on the previous games. Now I know that sounds dumb, and probably not even logical but hey, if I'm having fun I'd just let it be really.

And no, I don't actively look for patterns. I actively reason out why I should do this or that sometimes but I rarely use said justification permanently. At one time I can say it's because of X reason, and at another it's not going to happen because of said same X reason.
254  Economy / Gambling / Re: An open letter to Eddie from Stake with lots of shares on Reddit on: March 04, 2024, 01:41:29 AM
It doesn't look like something unique to stake. If any other company had the capability, they'd probably do so really. At the end of the day, they're still a business and in most cases with businesses, morals be damned. And they can probably push the blame to the parents here rather easily really, or to any platforms that don't restrict their users to people of legal age when they're gambling. And from what others have said, they're promoting it on their own platform, which basically says that it's gambling oriented streaming platform. If they aren't going to promote gambling, when they themselves are one, there'd be no point no?
255  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price of Bitcoin hit a new all-time high? on: March 03, 2024, 12:37:20 PM
In 2021 when the price of Bitcoin went to 69K USDT, many people thought that this shock might stop at 100K USDT, but instead of that, Bitcoin went down from there. The price of Bitcoin did not see such movement in the last two years, but in 2024, Bitcoin is already this year.  Has gone to best high 59K Usdt then can we see a break from the previous price, Bitcoin has a halving very soon is it likely to be before or after the halving?
Halving my man, same thing with the 69k, Halving. I reckon if the pace continues we can expect a breakthrough from the last ATH before said halving, and within the year 100k. If it stops or steadies itself for a couple of weeks, then we're still going to see it go past the current ATH this year but it might open the idea of the price reaching 100k. Former seems more likely though since again, after dropping for like a day or two we're back up to 62k. Been a pretty steady couple of days though, so who knows.
256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing at gambling on: March 03, 2024, 08:46:19 AM
When everything's going well, it's cool. But sometimes (often?) money problems lead to divorce. Suppose your spouse/husband gambles a lot, his or her loss/profit ratio is acceptable (so it's fine), but then one day he or she has bet it all and lost it all. You've got nothing left (and no savings either). What's your reaction? Has this ever happened to you?
Dafuck is probably what I'd say first then probably talk it out about what the hell happened. Impulsive decisions usually stem from a sudden rush of emotions which may be caused by various different things like stress and whatnot. I'd honestly like to talk it out first but whatever happens afterwards, I'm probably not too sure since I'd have the same rush of emotions. And from what I know of myself, I'm pretty prone to anger.

Something at the level of divorce or worse would happen though. I mean it's not only because its about his money, but rather the money of the family after all.
257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it possible to inherit a gambling debt? on: March 03, 2024, 08:08:24 AM
~
I mean if it's bound by the law then it should be inheritable no? Just like regular debts. Now I think that anyone who faulted a loan afaik just forfeits their properties and stuff till they're able to pay the total amount, or slowly pay it out.

Afaik you can't exactly get jailed for being under debt? At least in my country anw, I don't think that's an issue there. it is an issue when the debt is so large that even working your ass for your entire life isn't enough to pay it. I don't think you'd ever get out of paying your debt though even if you tell them your circumstances of only inheriting it.

That said though I think such issues only happen in extreme cases? Since loans and the like are now done under scrutiny and if you don't have any collateral or your livelihood doesn't show any signs of being able to pay said loan, it'd never get accepted.

259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos: Still a thing? on: March 02, 2024, 10:54:51 AM

Is it acting as a bankroll investment thing? Took a peek at it and it seemed pretty normal-ish, don't really know how good it is though but from their investment charts it seemed at least that their investor profit graph is at least steady-ish, with no big losses for them.

I don't think it's particularly bad, it's rather similar to investing in any project out there just that yours is much more say active? Since it's a per-bet (from what I understood) thing since whatever you invest acts as the casinos bankroll, together with other investors and as well as their internal funds. I wouldn't expect anything big from the looks of it but since we all generally know that the house always wins in the long term, who knows, given the time your investment may grow pretty significantly.
260  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in a crypto bubble? Is a possible correction coming soon? on: March 02, 2024, 02:11:50 AM
I've been half expecting the market to dip and calm the hell down since back 50k. Seeing as it's in no way doing that, or any of the dips that did happen are rather insignificant since it just pumps right back up, hardly doubt we'd be seeing a correction anytime soon. Maybe at least till we hit ATH? I think most people are having the FOMO feels right now due to how much the market has pumped up in the past month or so. If we somehow breakthrough above 70k though then I don't really expect any correction coming anytime sooner.
