2401  Economy / Reputation / Re: Recommendations for additions to Default Trust on: November 13, 2017, 02:51:02 PM
I would also support the recommendation of The Pharmarcist, I have seen his comments on issues and the way he handles such. Although, not on everything I agree with him, but I am sure he has the wherewithal to call someone bluff and tell it to their face.

I'm open to suggestions.  I realize I've gone crazy with the reddening agent, but I'll listen to advice.

*Awwwww...consider my cockles warmed.*

Thats a testimony that whatever you doing, someone is watching...

My advice since you asked for it is to be more receptive for reviews. I have seen some people get tagged while some people clearly deserves it, others learnt from their mistake and ready to comply by rules. For example, a newbie asking for a non-collateral loan and the tagged will the there even after he is  a full member mind you, he never even got the loan he asked for.
2402  Economy / Reputation / Re: How to get trust rating up? on: November 13, 2017, 02:02:18 PM
I am trying to get my trust rating up. Could anyone help?

I cannot but laugh at you because as a fresh member of the forum, the only thing that could come to you to ask is about how you want to increase your trust. If you had been a higher rank member, that question could land your account in red. You might be wondering why will that happen, well that is the situation that which trust ratings have degenerated into. But the advise to you is to continue what you are doing, contribute to the community positvely in the highest morals available because if you default on that knowingly or unknowingly, your account might be tagged and when that happen, you don't only not get to increase your trust rating but also make that account worthless.

You dont need to ask for it because as you continue in the forum, some things will become clearer and part of it is the trust system.
2403  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lauda gives abusive negative trust on: November 13, 2017, 01:33:44 PM
This s**t will never end!!!
Nothing that I'm saying is doing any good!

Fuck this!
I had enough of this s**t!
Lauda you're a piece of shit of a human being. I've never done anything wrong, but I think you know that deep inside.

This thread is CLOSED.

Having read your posts from the beginning of the thread to this very last one, I therefore express my opinion on the issue.

1. Its unfortunate that you were caught in the battle of two people and someone who fail to do the right thing. What Lauda did was to be an adjudicator in among the two conflicting parties and if you checked the posts of others who have expressed their opinion, with the continued use of the signature means that you are supporting the other guy. On the issue of payment, there is nothing stopping you from archiving the posts you have made before the is disputes begin and note it that you will wear back the signature when their issues have been resolved.

2. You started the thread with so much anger and at a point you became humble which is something you should have capitalised on in resolving the issue despite other people comment who you are dealing with is Lauda and only her can remove the trust and I am optimistic that if you continued with that trend, all this would have been resolved. People have given feedback and they have removed it as well, its not compulsory that it will be permanent.
2404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Big Showdown - BTC vs BCH on: November 13, 2017, 12:24:58 PM
There is obviously a lot of chatter about BCH. FUDders are trying to mislead People into thinking that BCH could take over from BTC. Anyone who believes this even in the slightest needs to remember that this event will completely nuke the entire crypto market. It will set ALL of us back 8 years.

It's not good for anyone involved in cryptocurrencies if a miner-controlled, de facto centralized cloned currency threatens THE cryptocurrency with seemingly impregnable reputation established through 8 years of hard toil within a matter of days through artificial pumping.

What this would mean is that banks, governments, media and the so called financial experts were all right all the way along that cryptocurrencies are unreliable and it's just a classic economic bubble that could burst in an instant. After the recent mainstream attention on Bitcoin, any attack on Bitcoin to destabilize it is a death sentence for all cryptocurrencies and that includes all Bitcoin clones. Anyone who is blindly following along is pretty damn dumb and will end up falling on their ass. It's downright suicide.

I really don't have any specific issue against the momentum BCH is getting and the increase in price that it has witnessed in the last couple of days and the bold part of your submission is something that is of concern. Everyday, there are threads about when will bitcoin be accepted by merchants or when will government regularized bitcoin but with the way this is going, which one exactly will government recognize. Obviously they cannot recognize all the coins we have in this crypto space but the question is in all the bitcoins that we have, which one id right for recognition when each and everyone of them is claiming to be the bitcoin.

I share in your fear because what the developers and people who are behind all this are doing is to create confusion and also as a word sent to the core developers to do something about the issues in which other developers are giving against bitcoin and are using as an excuse to have a fork or any other coin.
2405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I hope you guys won't fall for this BCH joke on: November 13, 2017, 06:41:04 AM
Sure, bro. I think it is a trap for bitcoin holders to make them go to bitcoin cash and lose their investments. I have bought some bitcoins several days ago at $7400, current situation freaked me out a bit. But I dont regret for it now because I know bitcoin will grow up in wide period of time while bitcoin cash is a temporary phenomenon

That's the spirit although it could be tough at this time considering the difference in what the price is saying and the point you made the purchases but stay strong it could look like a long way to reach but really it might not even take up to a day and not as long as it seems.

When I saw the price of BCH went as high as above $2000, I was really shocked to think what amount of percentage increase in a matter of say 48hours I don't think bitcoin ever witnessed such percentage increase ( I stand to be corrected) yet the whole bubble is about bitcoin and not any other alt with no basis to justify such.
2406  Economy / Goods / Re: I started a new Bitcoin Business - We accept Bitcoin and 30+ altcoins on: November 12, 2017, 07:02:52 PM
Your inspiration is something commendable by seeing a gap, identifying it and striving to fill those gaps which is something to be commended for. However, my question is about location I.e in getting it across to wherever clients are. How does the shipping policy works as well as return policy.

Also, when I checked out the price, I realize the prices are on the high side based on the country I am from because anything quoted in dollars will have to be converted doing that makes a t shirt on the high side for people like myself and those who are facing same situations in countries spread across the world.
2407  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Trading BCH for BTC! on: November 12, 2017, 04:36:54 PM
I have a little over .75 in Bitcoin Cash(BCH) that I want to trade for BTC.

ESCROW can be used via Paxful.

Send a PM if you are interested.

I don't know the reason why you want to go the route of Paxful but this is something you can easily do just by opening an account in an exchange site (reputable with low fee), you deposit your BCH and sell for BTC all this won't take more than 30 minutes for confirmation and you have your BTC even in higher value because they value is rapidly changing on exchange platform compared to peer to peer sites. Like I said, you have your reasons and I am just offering my own observation on the whole scenario and a faster route at that.

I was looking at shapeshift.io, however, I was just hesitant to try something new  ...didn't find any scam reports though

Do you recommend any other exchanges that do not require any verification?

HiBtc does not require any verification while for Livecoin.net, you will have to do verification of the amount to be transacted is over a thousand dollars or its equivalent and this will make your account to be deactivated for withdrawal for 3 days so I will suggest HiBtc or any of the big names such as Poloniex but not Bittrex because of the verification before withdrawal.

However, you should do final check before depositing because exchange sites are known to change their policies over night without recourse to their client whatsoever.

2409  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bitcoin on indian exchange is a joke on: November 11, 2017, 02:37:56 PM
Bitcoin price has fallen down drastically today. Right now 1BTC = $6750. But on indian exchange zebpay it 5 lk($7700).
Observing it since last 3 hrs but price of bitcoin havent moved lower than 490000($7550).

Rather than complaining about not the right thing there you can as well tap into it if you from around there because what I see there is a perfect opportunity for arbitrage trading where you can buy cheap on one platform and sell high on the other but be sure you are doing it right because the large margin you see there might be as a result of their site hanging or not updating, also check if there is active market for buying and selling on the platform because for you to observe those differences, several others are also observing in which they might act on it.
2410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I trade my BTC for BCH? on: November 11, 2017, 01:21:02 PM
Anyone interested in moving to BCH should do so but don't come back complaining about the cabal, the money bags are the ones manipulating the price so as to make excess profit by driving the price of bitcoin lower and the price of BCH higher because you have the mind to choose and see between the lines but because you are too scared to loose, you then lose more.

For me, I would rather stick with a coin that have stand the test of time for over 7 years to get to what it is today than to put it on a coin that have that is riding on the glory of another without any basis to meet up to 25% of the latter in less that 5  months. Stability should be the answer here.
2411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does hardforks do to the value of bitcoin? on: November 11, 2017, 12:55:04 PM
As the topic says, can anyone please elaborate for me what Hardforks do to the value of bitcoin? Will it make it increase it's value or decrease? I've tried to do some research online, reading at forbes etc. All I could see was that hardforks create a newblock chain to improve the bitcoin transaction system.

And in addition, is this a good thing? When will the next hardfork commence?

The reason for concluding that hardforks increase the value of bitcoin price is not far fetched because most forks that have happened have been crediting existing users with 1:1 of the new forked coin which then means that if I have 2 bitcoin, I get 2forked coin. Even though this is mere greed, it then interprets that if the price of that forked coin is trading at $1000 for example, I then have $2000 just by holding.

You then see why a lot of people will want to have as much bitcoin as possible before the fork and if that should happen because of the forces of demand and supply, price of the original bitcoin tends to increase beyond what it was as more people are buying with less people willing to sell.
2412  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Paypal accept bitcoin on: November 11, 2017, 10:45:40 AM
Undoubtedly, bitcoin is already better than paypal by its highest demand and even better than other world assets like gold.
People no more like to bear feableness of paypal. Paypal either have to embrace bitcoin as one of their payment method or they must get off sooner.
In just a few years, people will have an option to pay via bitcoin their local shops and the bitcoin will be fully dominating over all payment methods including paypal

You cannot say outrightly that bitcoin is better than PayPal without putting it into some perspectives in the sense that currently when it comes to acceptance and integration with other financial institutions, PayPal is still way ahead of bitcoin as its mostly used by all freelancing sites which you can even pay directly to your local bank account without any exchanger.

But when you compare the freedom, bitcoin is better because bitcoin does not discriminate against anybody or nationality as the case of PayPal that would intentionally limit its services to citizens of a particular country.
2413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a sign??? on: November 11, 2017, 08:37:27 AM
I'm in malta and was around with a friend, we were talking about Bitcoin and all of the sudden I saw this from far

 I couldn't believe my eyes.

As far as I am concerned, they are not passing any message because you are involved in bitcoin, that's why it made sense to you. To the man on the street, with no business with the internet, that is just another big billboard that does not make any sense to him.

I have seen some bills around here and also banners in front of shops that deal with buying and selling of e-currency but they try to bring several items together in other to attract buyers such as PayPal, PerfectMoney, Payoneer and the likes. So, its nothing new at all and come to think of it, the banner might have been there even before you got involved but because you knew about it, that's why you noticed something is there.
2414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x continuing the fork ! on: November 11, 2017, 07:31:19 AM
My friend just sent me this and said that Sewit2x is continuing the fork.
The website has an announcement  on their page. Is this true or a scam ?
https://bitcoin2x.org/

This is another level of confusion being propagated by some individuals but looking at the website, it does not seems like the work of a professional just someone behind the screen playing with the minds of those who have been anxiously waiting for the SegWit fork but driven by the profit to make out of the bonus couple with the amount its being traded on the various exchange sites supporting it.

Guys, let's move on, this is a dead end and its not happening again. Concentration should be focused on BTC to reach a greater height.
2415  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How to tackle ether token scams? on: November 11, 2017, 07:00:29 AM
It has become a common practice to launch an ethereum token and just dump it .

A new token and a new airdrop is being done every day. A new project is launched, then airdropped. A telegram group is created where all sort of big promises are made. Every one is asked to make donations or buy the coins on etherdelta to support the project and raise the price and when dev feels he just dumps all the remaining coins and vanish.

I just can't forget that evening , when I was having discussion with ethergold dev in their discord group, he made so many promises and I went ahead and bought 1 eth worth coins. Next day morning when I wake up , everything was gone. There was no website, no discord .

Now these guys have started a new thing, they ask for 0.01 or 0.001 eth donation for donation. They call it anti scam check.

Even though the B2X was called off that day, a B2X on ether was launched .

Is there a way to stop this. Can we take any legal action?

If someone takes a legal action against one of these I think it would set an example and this might stop. But I know it will not be easy as there are countries which have no or very week cyber laws. But still I want to do something about this. Lot of newbies get burned due to this. Its bringing bad name to crypto too.

That's the unique thing about the crypto community, everyone is free to propose an idea why everyone is equally free to either accept or ignore them you chose to accept his empty promises. The issue of legality here would be possible if you know the location the individual is resident and also if the crypto currency is developed to the point it can be heard in the court of law at the his place of residence or else, it will just be an endless journey without victory because justice in some other part in the world, is more scare than air.

However, there is a saying that 'prevention is better than cure' and that's where you should focus on rather than the above route. You have seen the way its being done, you have learnt your lessons move on and never fall for such. Create awareness so others won't fall more because for you to have been duped, others have been duped as well.
2416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People talking about the REAL BITCOIN on: November 11, 2017, 05:56:01 AM
To all those who say "Bitcoin Cash" or "Bitcoin Whateverthenext" is the real Bitcoin.  Yes we got it.

Here's a friendly reminder.

BTC is Bitcoin.  BCH is a parasite altcoin brazenly feeding off the original Bitcoin brand.

You may wash your brain over and over and believe whatever you want, but BCH is and remains a shitcoin alt.

Have a great one

People are quick to jump ship immediately the good is not going. I am sure a lot of people who have claimed that BCH is scam and dump would have started feeling otherwise considering the price of BCH at this time forgetting that anything in crypto is not constant the BCH as we know is currently pumped which is due to the failure of SegWits but it won't last long in my opinion because what will share the attention with it, is already launching very soon.

The drop in the price of bitcoin is not directly means is flowing into BCH its just people who hoard are now selling since there is no bonus happening anytime soon.
2417  Other / Meta / Re: Moderators Right? on: November 10, 2017, 09:49:20 PM
In as much as the moderators are not perfect but the truth still remains that they are trying to keep the sanity of a public forum like this to the best of their ability and how they deem it fit but because it's based on subjectivity, there will be some element of human factor coming in.

Yes you can complain if you are not comfortable and that is what you have done. I have seen a situation where a thread or quote was deleted by a moderator, he made a complain just like this, and global moderator restored it. But at the same time you should not expect that things will go your way because not everyone would see things the way you do especially those that can act on it.
2418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin all over London underground on: November 10, 2017, 05:20:37 PM
I came back to London after being away for a while and noticed something is different. Now there is all kinds of bitcoin (and ethereum) commersials all over the place, trying to sell people crypto investment services. I've always been told that if investing becomes so popular that it is discussed in the pubs you should sell. This makes me kind of worried. What do you think?

Your fears to me has some validity and that's exactly what comes with all our quest to ensure bitcoin becomes so popular now that its getting popular, it then create further fear in the mind of people because of the various investment principles that have not failed in the past. Just like the poster above have said concerning Rockerfeller in 1929, the same thing happened in the recent depression that gave birth to the emergence of bitcoin as expert knew it has gotten to the point where it needs one needs to exit the market.

The difference between the above and what we have now, is because while almost every family in the world have a partaker in the crash that happen because of the increasing popularity of stocks then, the same thing cannot be said about bitcoin. Also the volume of transaction and amount of money involved at that time compared to what is in bitcoin is just a fraction and not anything close to that.
2419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin affects your investment values? on: November 10, 2017, 03:09:04 PM
I used to invest in stocks and funds, but after investing in bitcoin I was not interested in funds and stocks anymore.

Investing in stocks is one of the most ridiculous investment you can think of and it just does not worth. When I was younger, I used to believe when one invest in stocks, you then wait for several number of years to cash in big. It was when I started practicing that I realize it was a complete waste of time where the directors are the ones making the money and even they themselves do not invest in the business rather they are compensated with the amount of shares that I put my hard earned resources on free of charge. The only thing they do is declare peanuts all in the name of dividends.

In the case of investing in bitcoin, I don't see any other investment that could bring the returns within short period of time like bitcoin but one just need to be more careful not to put the whole egg in one basket due to the uncertainty of its price.
2420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Segwit2X Hardfork cancelled/postponed on: November 10, 2017, 01:16:56 PM
Already mentionned in the BTC/USD observer topic, but can be usefull to be repeated...

Source :
https://www.coindesk.com/2x-called-off-bitcoin-hard-fork-suspended-lack-consensus/

The issue of suspension is just a way to save face or a form of soft landing in other not to look bad in the face of the community. Even here, I have not seen a campaign that is suspended that came back to life rather it would close, then start again when need be. The argument of consensus is something I found lame for them because even the earlier forks that have happened, there were never a full consensus and they all did what they wanted to do and we still have them till date. Whether they live up to expectation or not will be another subject of discussion.
