2481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is somebody using altfins.com? on: September 21, 2022, 09:40:09 PM
I never heard or use their service but we can not say that this is unpopular based on Ahrefs backlinks checker they do have 31k backlinks with 85% do follow links and it was posted on 5k domains.
So here on the forum, this is not popular but it was spread to a 5k domain the only thing that I notice is that this altfins.com is not listed properly on search engines like Google unlike on Bing. I think they have lots of spam backlinks which is why their website was being deindexed from Google SERP.

So not worth becoming a referral unless you are trying to promote their token?
Plus their token is not well-known and it doesn't have any announcement here on the forum.
2482  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Connect with blockchain directly from your phone on: September 20, 2022, 11:16:21 PM
This wallet is not open-source I can't find any links that you have a team or a Github page with your team so I and most of the people here do not trust any wallet without open-source code.

How can I trust you?
Based on what I see from the images in Google playstore it's totally a wallet with no APIs and JSON RPC commands so how we can connect to the blockchain if it was just created for sending and receiving coins?

You must edit your title and thread that your project is a wallet and it is still underdeveloped.

And look at your privacy policy under your link https://www.freeprivacypolicy.com/live/a8034163-f0bf-4405-b032-3dd9c2a0760e
It's generated from a free source so it means you don't even have your own website privacy policy is very important EU countries are very strict on these and you don't even have your own website? You are using 3rd party sites for your privacy policy and your email it's obvious that you didn't put more effort to host this to your own website.
2483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is difficulty still very high on: September 20, 2022, 11:02:43 PM
Why you are looking for low difficulty? High difficulty gives you more security and is far from a 51% attack on the blockchain and it also helps transactions confirm faster.
If you see the high difficulty it means more people still mining and more units are produced and you know most well-known companies like Bitmain always developed machines that can mine faster and more efficiently. I'm sure they also run them to get benefits while selling them.
2484  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bypassing S9 power supply on: September 20, 2022, 10:50:54 PM
yes. I am just trying to make the panels give 12v or nothing.. and possibly need a battery bank just for the "steadiness" I don't know all the tech terms but.. a device that will wait until it has enough power (12v) before it "lets the power thru" and have a low voltage "kill switch" I'm not trying to run them all night just when the sun is "bright enough" like it might turn off before sunset.. or a stormy day it would never even get triggered to "go" sorry I don't know the technical words to get out my idea?? but all this is helping thank you!!

Not all day can generate or produce energy the best time for solar panels to generate power is around 11 am to 4 pm which should be the most productive time to generate power(Depending on how you set up your solar panels). Also, May June July August would be the best month that can produce high-quality power.

Thank you for the detailed reply! I see several different people posted there… should I ask one of them for the email? I also created another account just in order to send Freebitcoin messages regarding this issue, but not sure if they will reply me… Does anyone have their technical service email that I can get in touch ? Thank you !

2486  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Name the biggest problem/reason why aren't there more folks coming on Web3? on: September 20, 2022, 02:34:14 PM
Only a few people know about web3 and it is not fully developed yet unlike web2 maybe if more people found web3 I'm sure they will come to use web3 due to ownership and decentralization.
I believe if more blockchain games produce gamers would choose to use web3 because they own items they bought unlike games on web2 if you bought an item/weapons/anything and then your account is banned you can't use or transfer the item anymore. That's the big thing that I want in web3 decentralized and ownership.
2487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoin on: September 19, 2022, 11:59:26 PM
Based on this https://www.asicminervalue.com/efficiency/sha-256

It's not worth mining with an ASIC miner if you have an Electricity cost of $0.15/kWh above but if you have an electricity rate of around 0.04 or below or free it's profitable.
And actually, it also depends on the lifespan of your unit and you will never reach the ROI if you don't know how you maintain them.
2488  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: It's time to look into BTC miner on: September 19, 2022, 11:44:22 PM
There is a tool that you can use to compare all SHA256 ASIC miners check this link below
- https://www.asicminervalue.com/efficiency/sha-256

I think the s19 series have fewer issues same also for Canaan units but it depends if you know how to maintain your miner overclocking is most of the culprit that reduces the lifespan of the ASIC miner. So always use the stock firmware if you don't want to get lots of issues from your miner.
2489  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bypassing S9 power supply on: September 19, 2022, 11:18:04 PM
wow that what was I was looking for! thank you!  so I'm thinking of  maybe having a small battery bank just to keep the power steady "as possible during the day.. then just have a 12v timer to shut it down at sunset or near. what "device does that a "12v "speed controller" like for a motor? am I on the right track? thanks again for your reply I'm going to look into that firmware for solar! that is beautiful!

Are you talking about a speed controller for your fan? I think you don't need it if you want to control the speed of both exhaust and front fan then you can control them like other said on different firmware.
BraiinsOS is mostly one of the firmware that you can use to control power voltage, fan, and other features and options. If you want to install this firmware you can find the official thread here below

2490  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum shows less balance than blockchain on: September 17, 2022, 11:36:23 PM
I saw something weird from the image posted by the OP look at this image again

As you can see I marked it in a circle it seems that OP edited the current page of his wallet and edit the code of the current wallet balance.

If I'm right I'm sure the right balance is in the Electrum wallet If I'm wrong then the only thing that is possible is that the change address might be not the same as the Electrum increasing the gap limit might show your other addresses that have balance.
2491  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: MINING BTC VERSUS DOLLAR COST AVERAGING on: September 17, 2022, 11:16:10 PM
If you are using a mining calculator and the result is 2.15 BTC in 24 months that's not exactly what you can earn from the pool.

Actually, there are many types of pool payouts, and most miners mine on the pool that pays both block reward and transaction fees so the incentive you can get is the transaction fees.
Unless you mine on a different pool that only has a stable payout like PPS it doesn't include transaction fees unlike other payment modes like PPS+ which includes Block reward+transaction fees.

Better read more about how mining pools distributed rewards and transaction fees to their miners and different types of payment modes
2492  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How can I import Blockchain.Com Wallet in Bitcoin Core ? on: September 16, 2022, 11:41:31 PM
I don't know if the wallet and the seed phrase are from Blockchain.com safe or not.
I use hardware wallets to store cryptocurrency assets and don't trust web wallets because hacks can happen at any time.

When the OP or anyone imports a seed phrase from Blockchain.com into a desktop wallet like Bitcoin Core, it means that at the same time, he has the same two wallets that can be accessed through those two types of wallets. So the wallet security gap in the web wallet is still vulnerable to being hacked even though it has been imported into Bitcoin Core.

It is better to use a new address on a more secure wallet.

That always has a big risk having two wallets with the same Backup seed or even extracting the private key from the Blockchain wallet and importing it to the Bitcoin core wallet has a risk.
Like you said it's a web wallet any device with a wallet generated by seed online is always vulnerable to any online hacking/hijacking attacks.
In both Blockchain and Bitcoin core wallets if your device is connected to the internet there are still possibilities that all of your private keys can be hacked/hijacked that is why a Hardware wallet was built to avoid such vulnerabilities.

Or if you don't have a budget to have a hardware wallet then having an offline/cold wallet is the best option just make sure never connected your device to the internet and the wallet must be generated on the same offline device.
2493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it safe to save USDT and BUSD on binance for long term? on: September 16, 2022, 11:20:24 PM
guarda looks like it supports both usdt and busd. Should I trust guarda for long term savings?
And does trustwallet also supports busd and tether such as guarda?
Are these wallets saves the private keys in an offline environment (in mobile/desktop) to prevent against hacking attempts online?

It seems Guarda already has a bad reputation here on the forum better read this thread below

- Atomic Wallet and Guarda' owners == SCAM ChangeNOW' owners
And like others said it's a close source so we don't know how safe their wallet is.

About Trust wallet maybe you can trust it a bit because it's open-source you can build it on your own and it's owned by Binance.

If I were you if you are planning to hold a big amount of BUSD and USDT I suggest buy a hardware wallet like ledger nano S which has better security than using app like trust wallet.
2494  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Received Bitcoins were instantly gone on: September 16, 2022, 04:22:10 PM
in that timeframe i downloaded a single PDF file about some unrelated stuff

didnt really go on any dodgy websites or opened any e-mails

Kinda weird i dont know how i couldve been compromised

Unrelated bc it happened after the incident, but i downloaded the new electrum update from the original electrum.org

Sorry to hear that you can't able to recover your funds I thought that your transaction is still unconfirmed.
The only thing that you can do right now is to scan the whole PC/Laptop to know if you are really compromised.
And next time if you are going to open your old wallet always make sure to do it on an offline device you can still make a raw transaction from your public key and imported it to a watch-only Electrum wallet. That way it can help to protect and avoid malware or virus that automatically sends BTC to another wallet that you don't own.
2495  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which UK Buildings are suitable for mining? on: September 16, 2022, 03:53:51 PM
Uk is not a good place to start a business with Mining machines electricity rates are very expensive you maybe can mine in the UK if you have a solar.

Or I think looking for colocation with cheap electricity rate might be your best solution than trying to mine in the UK with very expensive Electricity rate.
2496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Connecting to a Bitcoin Core Server on: September 15, 2022, 11:57:05 PM
Dear.  I have a fully synchronized bitcoin node on my device.  I have an app that I made in his language.  C#.  All I want is to connect to the Bitcoin Core server through the app I made.  So I want the summons.  the appropriate.  In order to put it in my application and control my Bitcoin Core wallet through this application.  And that's it.  Thank you all for your wonderful responses

So you want to control your Bitcoin core wallet with your app built with C# language. We already told you what you need RPC API should be work if you can't able to use them and you receive a few errors using RPC commands I suggest you check your Bitcoin.conf file and add these 2

Code:
#For JSON-RPC commands
server=1

# Accept public REST requests
rest=1

Also, I think you still don't know how to put an HTTP request in your app you can use it to send commands like " $ ./bitcoin-cli getbalance" from your wallet.

Most of us here don't understand why you can't make it work and honestly, if you receive an error sending these RPC commands you should tell us the error so that we know the next suggestion. Without error or any update from your APP, this thread will become a long thread without solving your case.
2497  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What do you say about the Rydium exchange? on: September 15, 2022, 11:21:08 PM
If you talking about the Raydium Defi exchange then it's a Solana-based exchange and it seems it's a legit website.

The link you posted above when trying to click the link provided from your link I'm blocked but I believe the link will redirect you to this domain raydium.io

They also have documentation here https://raydium.gitbook.io/raydium/ and it was listed on Solana Defi page here https://solana.com/developers/defi

So I guess it's legit Defi exchange.
2498  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: marketminers.store is trustley supplier? on: September 15, 2022, 10:58:41 PM
I'm getting into the mining business. I was wondering if marketminers.store It's worth dealing with? From what I can gather online they look like trustworthy online shop where I can purchase ASICs. Considering these things aren't cheap, I decided to ask around just to be double sure about this. I'm sure everyone understands that my stupid question is important to me.

How can you say this website is legit?

Look at this from whois

Code:
Domain:marketminers.store
Registrar:Namecheap
Registered On:2022-08-11
Expires On:2023-08-11
Updated On:2022-09-09

A new domain is most likely a scam website no one should deal with a new website without a review from trusted users here on the forum.

I hope that you are not one of the alts of the OP if you are looking for a legit store selling ASIC units then check this Current List of Competitive Hardware
2499  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Received Bitcoins were instantly gone on: September 14, 2022, 11:47:24 PM
Was not the first time, had it for a long time

How long? If the wallet was created with Electrum version below 3.4.4 and it's currently installed in your device or PC then it will give you the notice to download the latest version with a link if you updated it using the link it will lead you to a phishing site and then if you downloaded and installed it in your device/PC then your wallet is already compromised.

Electrum.org remove the warning but a few months ago you can see this warning below on their website.

Code:
Warning: Electrum versions older than 3.3.4 are susceptible to phishing. Do not download Electrum from another source than electrum.org, and learn to verify GPG signatures.

So before you install Electrum or update it make sure you always verify the Electrum to make sure you have the original Electrum installer. There are many people who suffer from this a year ago so be careful with any phishing sites.

About your current case if the transaction is still unconfirmed yet I think you can double spend the transaction and transfer it to your new wallet.
2500  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antminer T15s and the APW8 on: September 14, 2022, 11:22:28 PM
You can try to repair those dead PSUs there might be burned parts inside the PSU sometimes busted capacitors or rectifiers or maybe an open fuse replacing them could fix the issue.

I searched a bit it seems that ZeusBTC has a guide on how to repair this PSU so I suggest you follow their step-by-step guide from this link below.

If not, hire an Electronics expert to repair your PSUs.
