1781  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Repairing Antminer S9j on: February 03, 2023, 11:43:16 PM
The PSU was working when I took the screen shots after first firing up the miner.
Two hashboards were working, one not working when I took the screenshots.
The PSU failed after running continuously for 3,5 hrs with the 2 good boards hashing and now it only makes 11V DC.

That's a normal value if it's coming from the power supply and actually the power changes depending on the control board signal that is why you see some different power output and also you can adjust power and frequencies from this unit.

There is Vnish firmware where you can adjust power and frequencies or use auto-tuning and let it run for a while until it found the best freq and power for your miner to run stable.

Auto-tuning on BraiinsOS is also a good option as suggested above to test until you get some hints. But I guess PSU is working fine 1 of your hashboard is I think overheating after running for a while so auto-tuning is the best solution to still keep some chips running safely(From red to green).
1782  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Asset on: February 03, 2023, 11:23:10 PM
I don't know exactly what are you planning it is likely a dream?
You will never be a supply of Bitcoin since the supply of Bitcoins came from blocks being solved and rewarded.
So how can you be a Bitcoin supplier?

Or you might be talking about trading related to exchange inflow and outflow but I don't see if the market is crashing look at the Bitcoin price chart for 30 days it continuously rising.

Or I think you are offering something for a limited-time offer?
1783  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: block.io alternative on: February 03, 2023, 11:12:14 PM
If you don't mind I would like to ask what service you offer to your users why would you pay them?

Maybe BTCpayserver can help you about paying your users the best thing about using BTCpayserver is that there is no 3rd party you can host this with your own machine unlike other wallets or services online they do have control of your wallets.

And how did you end up using block.io if you can do it manually with your wallet unless you want them to automate withdrawal in your own website where your users requesting for withdrawal or payout so BTCpayserver is the right choice for this and they do support LTC.
1784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The best ways to mine bitcoin on: February 03, 2023, 10:52:34 PM
There is no best way to mine Bitcoin but for the safest way to mine Bitcoin do not invest in any cloud mining sites or NFT or any digital form with hashrate they are mostly a scam.

That's the big difference buying digital vs physical miner I will never invest again to any form of mining with digital even it is NFT because I already experienced to be scammed by some investment sites before.
1785  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How do you keep your Asic secured when using a pool on: February 02, 2023, 11:58:34 PM
Just keep your miner updated to the latest firmware and disable ssh.
Also, change your root admin password and keep your router to enable firewall protection for any attack, and don't access any website randomly that records your IP because sometimes they scan your IP for open ports.

And don't flash your units with random firmware that you downloaded from unknown sources there are lots of fake firmware out there be careful.
1786  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: OLE777 / Ole7.io Stole ~1100 USDT from my balance and banned me on: February 02, 2023, 11:46:41 PM
Does it seem the profile that you provided above is active here on the forum why not contact him through PM?

Or try to post your issue to this thread below so that all your proofs and complaints are in public. And it seems many users are experiencing the same thing based on some user's posts there

The profile already have 1 negative trust but it is related to promoting their business with shill accounts. So if you can provide enough proof ft members will tag him as a scammer.
1787  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 1246: All 3 boards are stuck in an idle state ECHU[1 1 1] on: February 02, 2023, 11:32:37 PM
Are you ever tried to check the middle cables or connection or terminals of the middle hash board there might be a connection problem. Try to replace and clean up the terminals of the middle hash board using lacquer flo thinner or any board cleaner.

Then update here but if you have a multimeter check the wire cables and terminal for short circuits and lost connection.
1788  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Window closing sound? on: February 02, 2023, 07:30:54 PM
Never heard that electrum has a sound it is more likely a notification sound on Windows 10.

If its windows 10 you can disable the notification sound on the settings>system>notification and action uncheck "allow the notification sound" or look for Electrum under that page and click it you should see the "play sound" then disable it.
1789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Offline Wallet on: February 02, 2023, 11:15:21 AM
What I mean is a wallet that is Android support and not desktop, but I can still go for the Desktop if it's safe and protective. I don't trust my PC that much since I came across the clipboard virus and how it works on this forum.

If it's an Android wallet that you looking for then I only know 3 Bitcoin wallets that you can still use without the internet.

Spectrum is the best but it's already mentioned above so check these two mobile wallets below.

- schildbach bitcoin wallet
- Mycelium

Schildbach wallet supports offline Bluetooth transactions while Mycelium works the same as Electrum just ignores altcoins on their wallet.
1790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Offline Wallet on: February 01, 2023, 11:51:55 PM
I don't have any bitcoin wallets that haven't already been mentioned, and I'd like to know if it's possible to create a bitcoin-only wallet that doesn't require a desktop APP, works offline

I don't get exactly what you mean by this. Are you talking about a Bitcoin wallet that doesn't need to install on your desktop that works offline?
If yes, then a paper wallet is I think what you looking for because most Bitcoin wallet is software that you need to install on your desktop before you can able to use them.
Unless you talking about apps from the Microsoft store? If I'm right then you can use Electrum or Armory(with Bitcoin core installed) or Bitcoin core they do all will work without internet.
1791  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Way's to check what pools are actually doing with your mining power on: February 01, 2023, 11:29:59 PM
About how you get paid by mining on their pool they have different payment methods most of the pools have PPS+, PPLNS, and SOLO payment methods.

If you want to know more about them check this "How to Choose the Optimal Payment Method (PPS+, PPLNS, SOLO)?"

It's viaBTC pool PPS+ is fixed earnings and PPLNS are unstable earnings you will see some spikes here if you use this method it depends on luck, difficulty, and miner fees. I use PPLNS before but I get less profit than mining on the fixed earning the PPS+ includes a little bonus on the miner fees while the PPLNS rewarded you from miner fees in full.
And then solo mining this one you will get the full block reward.

About what they do with your hashrate some pools like Nicehash they do sell your hashrate to other people/buyers and most of them use your hashrate to mine altcoin. Unlike real pools like ViaBTC, Kano.is and other Bitcoin pools they only mine BTC and if you join in merge mining I don't think they do mine altcoin but they only rewarded you altcoin for free.
1792  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Repairing Antminer S9j on: February 01, 2023, 11:12:22 PM
I did take screenshots of the kernel log when I first turned the miner on, with all three boards in it, but it's 7 screenshots full of geek-speak and I don't yet know what I'm looking for.
I'll read through it and see if anything sticks out and what I can share.

Don't take screenshots instead copy them and paste them here and put them inside the insert code tag it's a # button while editing your post.
The kernel logs are safe to share here and it should contain some errors so we can see the current situation of your miner while it's running.

But it's your choice if you want to directly suspect the PSU and if you have a budget to buy a new PSU if it's not a PSU you can still use it in the future for testing or to replace your current PSU.
1793  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Who can help? My husband died and a mining farm remained from him. on: February 01, 2023, 10:53:03 PM
Are you sure it's a mining farm do you see what exactly the equipment or units they use?

Can check these two images below and tell us which one exactly

Or are you talking about mining rigs that can only mine Altcoins? If yes then this is not the right place you need to move this thread to altcoin mining section.
1794  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: NiceHash is paying 6% more than mining Bitcoin traditionally on: February 01, 2023, 01:12:40 PM
Do you have the plan to support Canaan units? I mean newer Canaan units?

Most of the newbies that I heard having issues trying to mine in Nicehash pool both non/ASICboost pool.
Canaan units until now do not work in your pool based on what I heard from some users on other forum.
1795  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How can I generate a Bitcoin address using a pen and a paper? on: February 01, 2023, 12:53:18 PM
Mastering Bitcoin(Andreas Antonopoulos's book) should guide you about how you can generate your own private key by flipping a coin.

Since you said you are planning to use pen and paper only you can write them in binary it means you can only use two characters 0 and 1 and write 256 characters randomly. Sample 1110 0101 0001 1001....... do this until you made 256 characters but I guess you will still need some tools to convert them from binary to hexadecimal you can use this tool https://www.binaryhexconverter.com/binary-to-hex-converter or follow their guide to convert binary manually into hexadecimal.

Now, you have a 64 character hexadecimal you can use https://www.bitaddress.org/ under wallet details and paste it there to generate a public key and base58 wif key you can download the page and run it into offline machine if you don't want to expose private key in online device.

Or get some idea from this thread "Randomly Generated Private Key Outside of a Computer Environment"
1796  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto child savings account on: February 01, 2023, 12:16:22 AM
Why not create a wallet with electrum for your kids and share the seed phrase with them and use the time lock to send BTC to their wallet?
You likely lock a transaction and it only triggers or is sent to your kid's wallet when the set time/date is reached.

The only problem is that you won't able to spend them until the date/time come.
This one is a future saving it's a good option for your kids.

Follow the guide here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2415595.msg24712087#msg24712087
1797  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Repairing Antminer S9j on: January 31, 2023, 11:53:44 PM
I don't know what power you have in your house if it's 110v or 220v. Maybe the power source is not stable which is why it drops after a few hours and you must run this miner at 220v but if you run the miner at low power or 110v the miner will experience some issues like overheating and drops in hash rate.

I hope that you can share the kernel logs here so that we can understand what happened to your miner without them we can't just find the solution by guessing.
1798  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tutorial How to import old paper wallet to electrum on: January 31, 2023, 11:48:10 AM
If you want to be completely secure, you should import your private key into an air-gapped device. Being offline at the time of importing the private key isn't enough.
And it may worth mentioning that, you will need two devices for making transaction from your paper wallet. One should be offline and the other one should be online.

I just want to add this as optional you can make an offline transaction using https://coinb.in/#newTransaction and generate a raw transaction where you need to copy and transfer it to the offline device where the Electrum is installed and then sign the transaction and transfer it back to the online device and go to https://coinb.in/#broadcast to broadcast the transaction.

Tested this on a legacy wallet I don't know if the segwit wallets will work.
1799  Economy / Speculation / Re: does the increasing number of altcoins have a negative impact on the price btc on: January 31, 2023, 11:27:25 AM
Altcoins are dead coins, Bitcoin is a survival coin.

Bitcoin is not a survival coin it is the first coin that was born and developed and it is the main coin(more liquidity) where the price is different from altcoins.

Do not compare Bitcoin to altcoin because without Bitcoin altcoin will never be born.
Even if Altcoin or shitcoin becomes dead or increases in number it doesn't help to grow Bitcoin.

@OP it means it doesn't impact much or no impact if there are many altcoins being born or dying. Most altcoins are scams and it is likely someone develop a new product and resells it to the market it is likely a Fake vs authentic product but the original product doesn't drop in the price instead it increases in value while the fake one keeps declining.
1800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Electrum wont connect to bitcoin core on: January 31, 2023, 12:08:12 AM
Is the server you want to connect to is on the local network?
What error do you get when connecting the server?

What would we like to know is how do you set up the TOR?

Have you tried to configure the Electrum proxy and set it to TOR?

I suggest check this post below to get some idea.
