1481  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet on: April 18, 2023, 11:24:38 PM
If the Electrum wallet reads it and asks for a password it should be the right file.
From your image, it reads it means it's an Electrum backup file.

Be careful before you open your wallet backup make sure that you verify the Electrum installer there are lots of guides here on the forum including this one below to verify its authenticity and to avoid fake Electrum.

1482  Other / Meta / Re: Clarification on Plagiarism Rule and Policy on: April 18, 2023, 11:12:59 PM
Plagiarism is everywhere not only here but also outside on this forum if you have knowledge about SEO and a blog site you should know that plagiarism content won't be able to rank up on the SERP and your site will be banned on Google and won't be able to index any content from your blog.

It's the same here you will be banned if you post plagiarism content without proper credit to the content owner. The reason why they do not allow plagiarism is that it would also affect the forum in the future sample if Google detected that there are lots of plagiarism on this forum then they penalize all content/posts that were recently indexed, will be removed from the SERP or the forum will be banned for indexing any content to Google.

1484  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Building a mining pool on: April 17, 2023, 11:59:42 PM
I think you are pointing to a server that can handle many miners.  Then you need to host it on a VPS that doesn't have bandwidth limitation with 4GB of ram and enough disk space of 50GB and it must be fast there are some company offers fast server like Aws and Google and DigitalOcean.

The very important is don't limit the bandwidth because it can cause traffic limitations if you have many miners mining in your pool.
1485  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are hidden signs to look for when you're dealing with a Fraudster / Scammer on: April 17, 2023, 11:41:50 PM
For me, it's simple the signs that I think we are dealing with frauds or scammers is to check the reviews about him or if you deal with a newbie with no trust history and he keeps avoiding of using escrow then he is a scammer. Another thing is if you receive an unexpected offer from the scammer and promise that you can make a huge profit that's a scam.
Actually, there are many signs that is why always keep research first and ask someone trusted before dealing with someone that's the only way to ensure you are dealing with a trusted person.
1486  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which nodes and miners accept transactions fees below 1 sats/vbyte? on: April 17, 2023, 04:53:12 PM
I don't hear any nodes yet that accept below 1 sat but years ago I can send BTC with 0 fees.

Have you tried to own a node instead and configure minRelayTxFee and set it to 0?
That's the only way if no one here has a node with 0 TX fee.

Do you mind sharing what is your purpose? Are you planning to scam someone? And give him/her a TXID as your proof? Or abuse some websites that accept transactions with 0 confirmation?
I don't see any other purpose why you would like to make a transaction with 0 fees.
1487  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Did You Learn? on: April 17, 2023, 12:32:26 PM

1488  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Binance] Address expiration? on: April 16, 2023, 06:31:45 PM
This often happens to Binance they usually announce it on their latest news but right now it seems they didn't publicly post this on their blog or announcement but they directly contact customers through email.

Here's the old announcement before below

It seems the reason why they often change deposit addresses is to upgrade their wallet to enhanced security.
This is not good if you are using Binance as a wallet if you deal with someone outside and going to receive coins make sure that use a proper wallet that you fully control before you send it to Binance to reduce the risk in the future in case one of your friends accidentally sent coins to your old address you can recover it.
1489  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why coin base take so long to deliver a coin? on: April 16, 2023, 01:51:54 PM
About sending BTC from Coinbase to other wallets or exchanges based on my old experience using it Coinbase does not have the option to manually set the transaction fee they sometimes deduct TX fees too high or sometimes too low due to delays in their system to check mempool fee the TX fees sometimes low/high that is the disadvantage of using exchanges not only Coinbase but also other exchanges. However, Coinbase is very buggy I sometimes experience that even if the transaction was confirmed or more than 3 confirmations the balance on my account didn't change or the BTC that I deposit didn't reflect in this case you have to report it to their support to fix the issue.

About confirmation when you receive BTC like the above said Coinbase have 2 confirmations required before it reflects unlike Binance or other exchange only requires 1 confirmation after you deposit.

Why stay on Coinbase they gradually remove inactive customers from their exchange you can switch to a better exchange like Binance.
1490  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What would be happened in 2024/28 BTC halving? When mining would be expensive? on: April 15, 2023, 11:37:11 PM

What happens when all 21 million BTC are mined or when mining becomes unprofitable? I assume due to energy costs and computational power.
I hear people say that BTC will crash in value when this happens. I wonder why that is. My logics tell me that 18 million coins are more rare than 21 million coins and thus they will keep their value.

If 21m of BTC are mined I don't think mining would become unprofitable. Miners will still be rewarded from transaction fees and we do not know what will happen to Bitcoin maybe it would crash or not.
But on my own guess, Bitcoin price may become more stable and have less volatility if that day comes.

We already have some discussion about this here "How will Bitcoin survive after all 21M coins have been mined?"
1491  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: transfer lightening to onchain - bluewallet on: April 15, 2023, 11:11:38 PM
Never had any experience using this wallet but do you have any exchange option than zigzag.io?

Or I think if the wallet still allows you to send funds in the lightning network why not send them directly to any exchanges that support lightning? Then withdraw them and send them to your on-chain wallet.

Or you can open a channel on Electrum Lightning to receive your funds from bluewallet.
1492  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hack bug duplicate transaction on: April 15, 2023, 01:24:26 PM
What is the best way for me to report this failure to the exchange?

All exchanges have their own way or a guide on how to report bugs/security vulnerabilities sample Kucoin they have a guide on how to report these from this link below

And you will be rewarded depending on how critical it is.
1493  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can private key be linked to biometric identity? on: April 15, 2023, 01:09:13 PM
Biometric face recognition is not the best security to secure a wallet like you said we are aging and our faces are also aging which can give a problem in the future when recovering or accessing a wallet.

But the biometric fingerprint is way better because fingerprints do not change even as we age.

About a wallet that generates a unique private key based on biometrics, I never heard of them and it is not good to generate a key pair as they are easy to steal and copy.
Sample if you touch something on public places this would lead to identity theft and can be use to recover your wallet using the fingerprint that they stole from public places.

Biometrics is only good as your extra security layer for your wallet and your device.
1494  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hack bug duplicate transaction on: April 15, 2023, 12:09:32 PM
Or should you take advantage of this flaw and create infinite money?

I'm sure later after you withdraw some money from the exchange due to hack/bugs police will seize you.

If I were you if you found bugs or holes that are vulnerable for attacks then since most exchanges have a bug bounty program reporting it is the best because they will also give you rewards.
1495  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAN T17 JUST REPAIRED ! on: April 14, 2023, 11:19:53 PM

Hello , tried as you told me , but the tabs never work !

What do you mean? What tabs you are referring to? Are you talking about code tag? It's a # button you can find it while editing your post put all logs inside the code tag check the image below what it looks like

Then this will show up after clicking the sharp button.

If you can't edit your post and put all your logs on the code tag the expert will ignore this thread so make sure to edit your previous post above to make your thread clean.
1496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: separate phone for safety reasons? on: April 14, 2023, 10:54:43 PM

Could you give any specific examples? And what is the cost?

I purchased a nano ledger x. It's unopened at this point. Pretty painful to throw it in the garbage bin.

Ledger Nano X is fine but the only problem with this wallet it is a close source.

What he means about airgap is it means the other device should be totally disconnected from the internet or an offline device which is only used for signing a transaction but since you already have a hardware wallet you don't need an offline device because you can sign the transaction through the hardware wallet that acts as an offline device like ledger nano x.
1497  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Technical Questions on: April 14, 2023, 12:15:11 PM
what if stopped mining without shutting down?

I think you talking about sleep mode where you can switch the miner from low, normal mode to sleep mode.
Even if the miner is set to sleep mode the miner will still consume power not 100% because the fan still running at low speed.

What I guess you might have free power on daylight and you don't want to mine at night because you would end up paying electricity bill?
1498  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How much do I need to start mining? on: April 14, 2023, 11:35:38 AM
300 bucks is a really low amount if you're looking to mine bitcoin, at that point you might as well just mine using a Gameboy if you wanna cheap out on the rig.

Are you sure GameBoy? Not worth trying it only hash 0.8H/s meaning in solo mining it takes decades before you can able to solve a block or even if you mine on the pool you can't even make a single Sat it would be better to buy 2nd hand ASIC units than wasting your money buying gameboy to mine BTC.

The Offordscott telegram link above has some s9/t9 units listed for around $135 or even cheaper.
1499  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAN T17 JUST REPAIRED ! on: April 13, 2023, 11:50:52 PM
Where did you send this unit for repair? It looks like an EEPROM issue where the power and serial# are mismatched. And also the fan shows abnormal fan_eft and fan_pwm shows 0 it should be a signal from your fan if the fan is running abnormally then the miner won't hash.

I hope that you can edit your post and put all these logs into the insert code tag properly so that it does not look so messy.

Here's my own suggestion would you mind to try to flash the unit to Braiins OS? Or just boot the Braiins OS if you don't want to flash the unit so that you can easily switch back to the stock firmware.

If the issue is just EEPROM then switching to Braiins OS can fix this issue.
1500  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Android Electrum manually editing fee on: April 13, 2023, 11:31:03 PM
I think OP is referring to the bump fee based on the link it seems the Electrum Android under the bump fee he said it does not have the option to change from static to mempool or eta but actually Im using Electrum on the android latest version it does have the option to choose from eta, mempool to static where you can slide to how much fee you can pay.

If OP is referring to the customized fee then there is no option, unlike the desktop version but setting it to static is still able to set the transaction fee to what ever you want to pay.
