1661  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: avalon 1166 pro 119 asic on: March 05, 2023, 02:41:35 PM
According to your miner's API logs one of the miner's hash board is bad have you replaced the 3rd one?

Here are the logs that I talking about
Code:
HASHS[0 0 1]

So the 3rd hash board is bad if you don't have any tools like testfixture to find the damaged chip then you should replace it with a known working one.

There is no guide here for dashboard repair for this unit but maybe you can get some idea from this link below.

1662  Economy / Services / Re: Is anyone here willing to do crypto to amazon goods? on: March 04, 2023, 11:55:47 PM
What country do you live in? Why not use the cash app to sell your Bitcoin there to have funds then use the cash app VCC to buy products on Amazon?

If you found someone here willing to do it then don't forget to use escrow because there are some scammers around here.
1663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there other possible L2 solutions for Bitcoin? on: March 03, 2023, 11:59:13 PM
The lightning network still has some bugs and it is still vulnerable to attacks like Sybil and Routing attacks it is still not the best 2nd layer solution for Bitcoin there are still many options like others mentioned above.

Adding Ethereum Plasma from the list above if you want to know more about this read this "What is Ethereum Plasma"
1664  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Best and Secure HWW ( Hardwarewallet ) on: March 03, 2023, 11:35:36 PM
What would be your first 3 choices?

I don't care about cost or user interface, it's all about security, trust and transparency.

I was planning to use 3 different providers for my 2 of 3 multisig wallet.
I would not like to rely on a provider .... you never know these days.

Which 3 providers would you choose if you had a very very high amount in bitcoin, like a whale

If this is all about multi-sig wallets then cold storage is fine for me without buying a hardware wallet and if you don't trust any hardware wallet non/open-source but do you know if you use a multi-sig wallet the transaction fee is higher than using a single signature wallet?
Keep in mind they do have an increase in fee when using a multi-sig wallet because it came from 3 wallets and take note hardware wallets can still be vulnerable to physical theft, loss, or damage so you should consider making a backup for future recovery.

Why not create a cold storage wallet and never connect it to the internet to make sure it is safe you can use Bitcoin core and run it to a PC with no wifi/ethernet connection or use Electrum.
1665  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Best and Secure HWW ( Hardwarewallet ) on: March 03, 2023, 05:26:47 PM
The cold card is the best as a bitcoin wallet but the problem is they only have limited features, unlike other hardware wallets like ledger nano.

It looks like ledger nano is not listed on the list of open-source meaning it's closed source but I never heard of someone's success to hack this wallet except on the news about user info leaks. However, trezor has many issues before even it is open source it doesn't mean it's secured.
1666  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Unable to flash brainOs on an asic S17 pro on: March 03, 2023, 04:44:38 PM
DO NOT do what BitMaxz said, Stay away from ANY vnish poison.
Please go to my thread were we can continue in peace without being insulted or harassed.

How did it become poison?

I know both taserz and you promoting different firmware but it looks like you are forcing people to use Braiins OS like you said above you can't install Braiins on the latest version I'm just suggesting a different way if he wants to bypass the signature check. Vnish firmware is legit not a poison unless you can tell us why it is poisoned.
1667  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the best mining platform for btc? on: March 03, 2023, 01:07:41 PM
Most cloud mining sites are scams but if this is for the sake of your friend's youtube and for studying purposes and willing to lose investment then alternatively for Cloud mining I suggest check Nicehash marketplace where you can rent hash rate and miningrigrentals.com are the two that I know still legit.

I don't know if there are other cloud mining sites out there legit but those two are known as cloud mining that sells hash rate but still, there is a risk involved and I can't guarantee that they won't cheat(fraud).

Why not encourage your friend to buy an ASIC unit than invest in Cloud mining buying then mine with your own is way more safer than finding a legit cloud mining sites.
1668  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 1166 went Idle after Aging on: March 03, 2023, 12:37:09 PM
Can you still access the miner's IP through the browser?
If you can still access it would you mind copying the API logs and pasting them here make sure to put all logs inside the "insert code tag" it's # button while editing your post here or use pastebin.com and share the link here so that we can review the logs if what happens to your miner?

Or try this command re-aging with the parameter below do step by step from stop aging and then set parameter then reboot.

Code:
Stop aging: [{"command":"ascset", "parameter":"0,aging-set,3"}]
Set parameter: [{"command":"ascset", "parameter":"0,aging-parameter,60-537:562:587:612"}]
Reboot :[{"command":"ascset", "parameter":"0,reboot,0"}]
1669  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Unable to flash brainOs on an asic S17 pro on: March 03, 2023, 12:24:40 PM
great, thanks for the clarification. So that's why Brain doesn't want to settle.

Thanks again for the clarification.

If your miner has the latest version of firmware then Braiins does not support it yet but would you mind trying to flash the unit with asic.to firmware?
What I think is maybe their firmware support the latest firmware where you can flash the unit through an SD card to nand and then if it's successfully flashed you can then flash it again with Braiins OS or just stay using asic.to firmware.

Here's the firmware https://asic.to/antminer-s17-t17-optimized-firmware/
They also have a guide to disable or remove signature and unlock SSH you can just remove the signature using their tool then start flashing the unit with Braiins OS through SD card.
1670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Setup Bitcoin Core for receiving inbound connections on: March 03, 2023, 12:11:04 AM
I already enabled incoming connection and tried to add the maxconnections command to the conf file but none of the procedures worked. Could it be a matter of bandwidth of my interernet connection?
It takes hours or days before someone's nodes start to connect to you and it depends on the router's firewall. It is likely the same as torrent it takes a while before you can see more connections. And take note maxconnection is only for inbounds not for outbound I don't know if there is a command to increase outbound.

And please read this Bitcoin by default will not make more than 8 outgoing connections
1671  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie seeking Help For Python Programming in Bitcoin on: March 02, 2023, 11:27:22 PM
There are lots of sources to learn python programming for Bitcoin but I have a source where you can start to make your own blockchain DIY step-by-step built in python which I think you can absorb fast.

Check this link below

Also, try to check the whole page you can also learn other programming languages building your own Blockchain.
1672  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I dont predict btc price here just scheme how instutions and whales do it on: March 02, 2023, 11:18:17 PM
This is just a prediction anyone can predict and actually if this is Bitcoin no one can control Bitcoin price it is very volatile but it doesn't mean whales can do much impact on the Bitcoin price unless they are a group of whales that knows about how to manipulate the market by spreading news or FUDs while holding Bitcoin or waiting to buy at a low price.

However, they can't still do much impact if bitcoin is near on bull market if you know the historical cycle of Bitcoin when Bitcoin skyrocket with every block halving then you should know when to buy and no one can control it because more people coming due to sudden price increase.
1673  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining .vs buying in a bear market on: March 02, 2023, 10:57:04 PM
Both mining and buying have different risk tolerance  and it depends on you what is your investment goal but buying bitcoin have less risk than mining because having a miner needs maintenance that can cost more and power rate changes but since you said it's free then it's profitable.

The only problem that I think of buying bitcoin is that it does not direct generate earning as mining does.
1674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Setup Bitcoin Core for receiving inbound connections on: March 02, 2023, 05:29:38 PM
Have you tried to check the settings> of your Bitcoin core?
You can find allow incoming connection enable it and restart the core. Let's see if the inbound connection increases.
If not try to add this to your bitcoin.conf

Code:
maxconnections=125

The 125 value is the default value of max peer connections change it to higher then check for changes.
1675  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Selfish Mining on: March 01, 2023, 11:58:37 PM
I never heard about selfish mining but after a bit of research on selfish mining it looks like they mine coins but they get more rewards by keep holding the blocks secretly.
And according to my research that selfish mining is a form of attack on the Bitcoin network because it can cause the network to become less secure and less reliable.

If you are planning to do that on Bitcoin you will need a machine called ASIC miner that supports SHA256 algo and based on my research detecting or finding someone who do selfish mining can be difficult. But here are a few signs that someone do selfish mining.

Quote
High hashrate: Selfish miners will often have a significantly higher hashrate than other miners on the network. This can be detected by looking at the distribution of hashrate across the network.

Consistent block generation: Selfish mining involves withholding blocks from the network until a selfish miner can generate two blocks in a row, giving them an advantage in the mining race. This can be detected by looking for consistent block generation from a single miner or mining pool.

Abnormal block propagation: Selfish mining involves delaying the propagation of blocks to other miners on the network. This can be detected by monitoring the time it takes for blocks to propagate across the network.

Inconsistent mining patterns: Selfish mining involves modifying mining strategies in response to the behavior of other miners. This can be detected by monitoring mining patterns and looking for inconsistencies or sudden changes.
Source: Can't put the source because the website already dead a long time ago but still can be seen through Google using the keyword "4 signs someone does selfish bitcoin mining"
1676  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain on: March 01, 2023, 11:46:11 PM
Your crypto will become worthless or lose value if the main blockchain crumbles because the underlying blockchain support no longer exists and there is no assurance that your crypto will survive.

However, it may be necessary to migrate your crypto to another blockchain or network to make sure it's survival like other coins out there they migrate to ERC20 or TRC20 to survive.
1677  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto network on: March 01, 2023, 10:48:23 PM
You might be talking about tokens like USDT the main purpose is to reduce fees and I think they need multiple networks to reach a wider range of users who may prefer one blockchain over another and to take advantage of different features offered by different networks.

Quote
Each blockchain has its own limitations in terms of scalability, so by expanding to multiple networks, USDT can handle a larger number of transactions and users.

1678  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Trust wallet update on: March 01, 2023, 03:54:22 PM
I have a trust wallet but never use it I would like you to try is that go to settings then the application find the trust wallet and try to clear the cache.

If it didn't work and you have a full backup of your wallet you can uninstall the app and reinstall it again then restore your wallet. It should be work after if not then try to contact support submit a ticket here

1679  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Withdrawal small amount of BTC from Binance on: March 01, 2023, 03:44:46 PM
Like the other said you can use Binance P2P to directly withdraw them to your bank account or any payment method supported in your country.
Binance p2p only supports 7 Coins/Token BTC, ETH, USDT, BUSD, BNB, XRP, and SLP.
Since you said it's Bitcoin you don't need to exchange them for any coins you can directly find someone on P2P that can exchange that amount for cash or any payment method supported.

But the problem is if you are KYC verified?
1680  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Problem Antminer s9 : Fatal Error: some Fan lost or Fan speed low! on: March 01, 2023, 03:28:23 PM
I don't see any issue it seems everything is ok now about your miner.

You may be just too excited after you replace the fan you didn't try to refresh everything first before you made a thread here.

About the red light on the hash board possible, it is because of the shorted fan since you already replaced the fan the red light should be gone.

Next time don't put your miner on the window it can cause damage to the miner's components.
