Suddenly the poll is relevant again.

Re-start perhaps indeed

Nah it's fine, the result would still be the same Grin

Fuck I put the decimal point in the wrong place... may have accidentally overcorned a bit.

I don't think that is an issue at all!... I think you subconsciously wanted more corn!

But if corn drops below $42k I could have gotten even more and now I can't.

Fuck I put the decimal point in the wrong place... may have accidentally overcorned a bit.
Where did you put it? Cheesy

Too far to the right on a market buy order obviously... ended up buying 10x more than I should have according to my very strict DCA discipline that even JJG would be proud of.

I'm guessing someone in China farted again, and perhaps Elon kicked a puppy.
2506  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 06, 2021, 07:43:14 PM
Incredible short opportunity here.

That's true, not credible at all.
2507  Other / Meta / Re: Could the merit system demotivate lurkers? on: September 06, 2021, 07:30:35 PM
If merits shouldn't matter to a user perhaps I don't understand the reason for having it in the first place.

If merits are not "needed" to participate why have them?

Not needed for genuine users. Definitely needed to slow down shitposters, as Rikafip already pointed out. So adding additional ways to earn merits is not really necessary and could even have a detrimental effect if e.g. shitposters could get merits by cheating in the quizzes you proposed.
2508  Other / Meta / Re: Could the merit system demotivate lurkers? on: September 06, 2021, 07:02:52 PM
How about the interactive quiz idea?
How about off-line contributors? Are those people important?

Some users have been offering merits for things like being able to sign a message with a Bitcoin address. I'm not a big fan of it, since merit is supposed to be given to good posts and it's not really that difficult to make a good post.

But still, the bottom line is that no one needs merit to be able to participate in the forum so you're trying to solve a non-existent problem.
2509  Other / Meta / Re: Could the merit system demotivate lurkers? on: September 06, 2021, 06:50:09 PM
Merit system doesn't prevent anyone from posting. It doesn't prevent spammers, let alone scammers from posting. It may prevent some users from ranking up but that's really irrelevant for someone who just wants to ask a question or otherwise participate in the discussions.

It's none of your business why I'm using an alternate account

You kinda make it everyone's business when you use your sockpuppetry to stir shit up:

I am one of those people who like to shake the nerves of others, so if Mpamaegbu successfully appeals against the ban and is unbanned, I will provide new evidence since I have something in store. I am such an obnoxious brute only on weekends, on other days I enjoy watching such scandals drinking Piña colada.

Such a great keyboard warrior hiding under theymos' quote. Pathetic.
2511  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 06, 2021, 03:09:22 PM
Buddy, I think it's time for you to dump 51 as she seems to be holding you back from fully expressing your true self. There are other fish numbers in the sea.

Ok, when I say dump, I mean pump obviously.
2512  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 06, 2021, 03:32:41 AM
I disagree again, wash trades are illegal in the usa since well almost 90 or 100 years now.  Also in every country.  Its the commodity exchange act or something to that effect.  whatever though, im happy they got fucked.

Wash sales are not illegal. There are certain tax consequences, basically you have to maintain cost basis through a wash sale.
2513  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 06, 2021, 03:25:44 AM
edit: im saying there are base rules that dont need specifying ?

Actually it does need specifying. Maybe there is more to the context of this incident, but from what you said it didn't sound that they did anything wrong. Trade volume is trade volume. If I have a million trinkets and roll them over 1000 times that's legitimate volume of one billion. All those exchanges have no problem publishing that shit when they need to show how big they are, right?
2514  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Stake.com trying to scam! on: September 05, 2021, 11:13:50 PM
That is, in your opinion, it is absolutely normal that they let me make a deposit with a different name, but they don’t give me money to withdraw? From the point of view of humanity, is it okay to forbid me to withdraw even my deposit?! When my KYC is passed (in my humble opinion). This is a racketeering, in fact, to give money and prohibit withdrawing. What can we say about getting a winnings? After this situation, I hardly believe in it.

It's not ok to try to pass KYC with a fake name is what I'm trying to say, but in the light of what other users said above about "eddie" encouraging to use fake names, I'd agree that you should get at least your deposit back.

2517  Economy / Reputation / Re: legendster and the story of retaliatory feedbacks on: September 05, 2021, 07:44:06 PM
A DT1 member is also a human and let's face it that everyone on the forum is here to make money. It's hard to convince someone when faced with monetary benefits. I will be creating a new thread very soon with a similar case, see you soon there Wink

Let's face it, you're full of shit. How is legendster's presence in DT making "everyone" money?

As for the changes in the trust system, I am not asking it because of my own case but this serves as a good example why it needs changes.

No, it's not a good example of why the system needs changes. It's a good example of you being unable to make well-reasoned argument and resorting to fallacies when you don't get what you want, as is usual in most of your "cases".

Oh, and yes, this account was created while still having another account but by no means is a throwaway account. Please be careful of what you say. Unlike signature spammers, I have never made useless comments.

Didn't you accuse a reputable member recently with some made up bullshit... might have been some other useless sockpuppet though, you're all the same to me.
2518  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: September 05, 2021, 12:50:36 PM
Using bpip.org it's the easiest to see that, here's the @Mpamaegbu account on bpip https://bpip.org/Profile?id=940323 you can see there's a sign of Archived under his profile, mean he has been banned.

Some users might be archived for other reasons. Best check the Meta log in the bottom right corner:

Loading...

If he decides to appeal the ban, might even help to at least change permaban into signature ban (which I would like to see more often here), if not overturning it completely.

I hope it gets overturned completely. If I post:

Like someone once said, bitcoins have no dividend or potential future dividend, therefore not like a stock.

...I don't think this deserves even a signature ban. It's clearly stated that the words are not mine, therefore not plagiarism, even if not quoted/attributed/etc. In Mpamaegbu's case it's not so obvious but still he did imply that the text is not his.

It's just the red that was copied and this is the only instance of plagiarism?

As far as I can tell, yes.
2519  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Stake.com trying to scam! on: September 05, 2021, 04:43:17 AM
Eddie is the owner.
And yes me too I heard that it can be changed level 1. .
Sadly many guys here just give them 1$ bonus a week they will start saying no it's your fault stake not scam. .
At least give the guy his deposit back.

This dude? https://forum.stake.com/topic/45420-eddie-weekend-stream-giveaway

Ok then I would suggest to format the accusation accordingly because right now it doesn't even mention anything about "eddie's stream". Is there a recording of where he said that?
2520  Economy / Reputation / Re: legendster and the story of retaliatory feedbacks on: September 05, 2021, 04:26:02 AM
@Theymos if you have eyes please see and stop the manipulation of this trust system before it becomes a joke and people don't even take it seriously.

The trust system is unmoderated and admins do not interfere with other people's trust lists. It's the users' responsibility to add the appropriate exclusions themselves.

But if you leave holes in the system some users will abuse it. You cannot expect to leave a bag of cash on the road and expect people crossing to understand their responsibility and not touch someone else's money.

How about your responsibility to convince DT1 members to exclude legendster. That's how the system works. Changing it because someone tagged your throwaway account... I think that'll be a hard pass.
