besides the invasion and bombardment of a sovereign state this is what we must stand up against folks   if you feel divided as whether or not this is acceptable behavior...may God have mercy on your soul

Let's be fair to the musor here - once they arrested the women, they couldn't just leave their children on the street, could they?

Obviously I can see everyone's IP address in my hollowed-out volcano lair. For example korner's IP is 127.0.0.1 and the Queen of England has the same address so take it for what you will.

Justice is being served - what is it, a foot of yacht for every killed civilian? Oligarchs must be furious, first they were forced to use foreign-registered private jets, now this...

1584  Other / Meta / Re: [HACK] One-click mod report, not for the faint of heart on: March 02, 2022, 07:45:34 PM
I would add consecutive post report as one more default option in extension.

"multi post" button does that.

As far as modifying BPIP extension, even if I stick with predefined buttons and no configuration, there are still some issues to consider. Some people will not want to install the whole BPIP extension if they want only post reporting so I would need to make it so I can still update this standalone version if needed. I'll see what I can do but it's probably not going to be quick.

RF is trying to avoid civilian casualties

False.

Ukraine could be a buffer state between NATO and Russia.

It was a buffer and got invaded by Putin in 2014. As of now, Putin would have to exterminate a significant part of Ukrainian population if he wants to bend them.
1587  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 02, 2022, 03:56:04 PM
So Ukrainians should go and get Smolensk and de-Putinify the area, lol?

I know it sounds ridiculously premature, but I think the only thing worse than full defeat and occupation of Ukraine would be if Ukrainians win and go on a vengeful rampage into Russia, shooting retreating Russian soldiers in the back. Fingers crossed that this ends at Ukraine's borders, sooner rather than later.

Yes, the worst thing you can do to someone who has nuclear weapons is to put them in a situation where they have nothing left to lose. I'm sure a major reason for the sanctions on Putin-associates is to destabilise his allies sufficiently for them to want to remove him. It's difficult to imagine him backing down voluntarily or due to Western pressure.

I think a coup is getting more and more tempting for some of Putin's generals and/or oligarchs. Imagine the personal wealth and worldwide fame one could reap from this. Whoever knocks Putin off would be a hero in the West, and could get away with many things that would otherwise be heavily frowned up. Russian public opinion could be swayed too, what with the massive propaganda machine.

1588  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Steam removed bitcoin because half of transactions were fraudulent on: March 02, 2022, 02:56:04 PM
I don't know how irreversible transactions could be fraudulent, there should be no fraud compared to credit cards. They were either doing something horribly wrong (like zero confirmations) or are blaming unrelated problems on Bitcoin.

The price complaint makes no sense either. There is no way Bitcoin went up or down tenfold in a day in 2016. I don't know if fees were anywhere near $100 at any point, but if they failed to communicate to their users how Bitcoin works and made it look like game prices are going up and down - that's on them.
1589  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine president a patriot or a mad man? on: March 02, 2022, 04:06:33 AM
If the country behind Ukraine will also pose a thread carrying missiles and weapons, Russia will also disarm them.

No, they will not. They can't even disarm Ukrainian villagers. They might be able to kill some or many Ukrainians, but that's about it.
1590  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 02, 2022, 03:53:13 AM
So Turkey should be invading Bulgaria and Crimea, lol.

Complete madness.  I wish we had a time machine so that we could send all these autocrats to the 11th century where they belong.

I would suggest 15th century, because it gets better. I found evidence that Ukraine is actually ancient NATO land:

1591  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 02, 2022, 03:35:46 AM
If you follow this logic, Ukraine should be bombing Moscow right now, and annexing Russia because there are millions of Ukrainians in Russia.

Ancient Kievan lands... 1000 years ago, since before Moscow even existed.

1592  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 02, 2022, 01:59:55 AM
Any country that boarders a current nuclear power that decides to join a pact which would allow 3rd country to put its nukes on that country's land, would most definitely move the doomsday clock hands in the wrong direction.

So it's a good thing that NATO membership doesn't allow that? Is that your point?
1593  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 01, 2022, 06:51:10 PM
So the solution is to pack the nukes inside a package where its unilaterally optional to one side, after mutual collective defense is established? Now that makes all the difference and not sneaky at all.

Still not making any sense. Sneaky about what? That some countries want to share defensive capabilities? Unlike e.g. Russia and Belarus? That some of those countries don't want to trust Russia and rather turn westward? I wonder why.

Ok, so China offering Cuba a pact where Cuba is free to enter into the most beneficial agreements they can choose within their possibilities, and China is obligated to declare war on anyone attacking or blockading Cuba (with an option for China to later bring in nukes to Cuba anytime they want after that pact is  accepted) Now you'd be silly not to take up that great offer!

Actually that was the status quo for decades before the Soviet Union collapsed. So your point is still not quite clear here.

1594  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 01, 2022, 05:14:26 PM
nukes are getting brought to a border but this time with a side of more democracy, favorable trade agreements, monetary policy, and cookies

What are you on about... there are no nukes to the east of the "old" NATO in Europe... other than Russian nukes in Kaliningrad, in Russia proper, and now apparently soon in Belarus. None of the new NATO members are getting nukes.
1595  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POV] War in Ukraine on: March 01, 2022, 01:37:23 PM
Yesterday some Russian soldiers run out of fuel and went to a police station to ask for some. Of course they were captured and disarmed. The stupidity of the Russian army has no limit.

Most of those kids don't even know where they are and what they're doing. They probably think that the population (and the police etc) are on their side and they're just fighting some random "nazis". They got a good deal here though, being a POW in this war is probably a lot better than most other outcomes.
1596  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 01, 2022, 05:20:00 AM
You're right. Ships returning to a home port are allowed through. Crimea etc. is Russia, right? So they get the green light. IMO, this move by Erdogan is just a show anyway.

Not just Crimea, there is actual Russian coast and ports on the Black Sea in case Turkey doesn't want to recognize Crimea as part of Russia, so yeah.
1597  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Russian mixers, might this be a problem? on: March 01, 2022, 05:04:56 AM
But, I have found that even rudimentary blockchain analysis techniques can pick up the fact that you have used a mixer.

The purpose of a mixer isn't to hide the fact that you're using a mixer, it's primarily to break the link between incoming and outgoing coins. Technically CJ never breaks that link, it just introduces a shitload of plausible deniability. But if you mix a large amount you have to be very patient with it. Mixing e.g. 100 BTC will stand out.

Anyway, I use CJ almost exclusively since I'm not in a hurry so my coins are tumbling there for months and that gives me sufficient anonymity I think. For a quick mix I may still use a centralized mixer (three guesses as to which one) once in a while, never cared where it's based. You don't know where the coinjoins are coming and going either.
1598  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 01, 2022, 04:50:35 AM
One of the things that strikes (no pun intended) me in this invasion is this persistent image:

I mean... I'm not an expert in how missiles are supposed to work, but I'm guessing not like this? These are just a few examples I grabbed from news, makes me wonder what's the actual rate of duds. Also illustrates how Russians are totally definitely not targeting civilians, it's those damn Ukrainians moving playgrounds and apartment buildings into the path of missiles.
1599  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 01, 2022, 04:15:03 AM
There has already been intense traffic over the Bosporus in the past few days. I mean warships, mostly Russian. IOW: Who needed to pass has already done so. Erdogan is closing the door a bit late. Why such a late move? Because the economy has been nosediving for a while, and Russia is one of Turkey's most important commercial partners. Now the sanctions show how serious most of the world is about this, so Recep does what he should have done the day before yesterday.

Even if they did it earlier, incoming Russian warships would have been allowed, and will still be allowed, so this makes no difference.

They made it only 5 million rubles though. Still good money, around 1 BTC at this time.
