@BADecker still blaming the victims then. It's their fault they chose the wrong God to worship, so let's go there, steal from them and kill them, and say we're doing God's work.
The way you put it, you can justify any atrocity anywhere. : /

@pedrog no, that's for the whole continent I think.
2522  Other / Off-topic / Re: If without religion/cristianity we would be ahead 1000 years on: November 27, 2014, 10:10:04 PM
^ Resuming, the colonists stole whatever they wanted and killed those who complained. : /

And I don't think God had anything to do with it. It was more all the wars, and resources stolen from other places that made Europe and then America rich and powerful.

And, the Indians did the same at times.

It's everybody's fault for not getting down to clear terms ahead of time, before showing and trading your wares.

However, if you as a White happen to be allowed to live on a reservation with the Indians there, until you become top-notch friends with them, keep anything of value under lock and key. If you don't, it will walk.

Smiley

Yes it's everybody's fault. Who did the Native Americans think they were to be living in the land the colonists wanted to steal? I don't think they came to Europe and tried to steal our land and resources. You're just blaming the victims here. : /

Wow! If Columbus really personally killed 500,000 Indians, working in 8-hour shifts (8 on, 16 off) it would have taken him almost 2 and a half weeks to get the job done. If he had weekends off, and time for lunch and breaks inside the 8-hour shifts, it would have taken over 3 weeks! Fantastic.

He might have said he was Christian. He might have thought he was Christian. But he was not acting the Christianity of the Bible, or of Jesus. If he didn't repent later in life, he will rot in Hell.

Smiley

EDIT: Sorry. I forgot to mention the part about him killing one a second. Did you figure it out anyway?

EDIT2: Let me also say, if he happens to have repented and been forgiven, probably is position in Heaven will be far less glorious than it would have been if he had been kind and upright with them.

I don't think religion had much to do with it, but looking to the old testament I think God wouldn't have any problem with killing tens or hundreds of thousands of people at least. God certainly did several times. : /
And Columbus was the governor of Hispaniola and atrocities were common while he ruled.

^ Yes that's true, but I was answering his question. Some argue that if it wasn't for diseases having killed so many of them first it would have been very difficult for the colonies to have been formed and expand so easily.
2525  Other / Off-topic / Re: Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM on: November 26, 2014, 07:47:56 PM
Seems like a promising technology. Nice to see that they've figured out a possible solution to piracy when so many others have failed.
Solution? There is no solution. Piracy isn't bad. Denuvo actually is. Also, yes it does hurt performance try it out yourself.

Investing so much into DRM is a bad move. Someone out there will crack it. It's the whole company vs a few smaller groups, yet Denuvo will lose at the end..

You can't blame them for trying though.

Kinda like saying investing into antivirus is a bad move because someone out there is going to make malware that gets past it.

It seems to me like it would be better to spend the money to actually improve the game than try to stop people playing the game without paying. xD
The game would be better, more people would talk about it, and more would buy it.

It's not directly related but I liked Zeitgeist: Moving Forward more.

Then why were we so much ahead on the native americans?

I think most Native Americans were killed by diseases Europeans carried with them to the new world. : /
Some say that without that the outcome might have been different.
2528  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you sell your account for $$$? on: November 26, 2014, 11:46:04 AM

what price, for example, for a Member account today ?

someone, actually buys the accounts ?  Shocked

Yes, you can go to digital goods in the marketplace to buy and sell accounts. But I don't know if you will get a lot for a member account.

There is no country that doesn't violate human rights, and there is currently no known way to reasonably commute to earth 2.

Part of the reason for that is most people don't agree what earth 2 should be like. : /
Those that have power now certainly don't want change, and the rest of us can't get together and agree on what to do about it.

No, the entire reason is that we haven't discovered a nearby wormhole that would allow us to transit light years through warped/folded space in an instant and return through it if no nearby habitable planets were near enough the other end. At light speed, the transit to the nearest possibly habitable planet would still take 20.3 years, which isn't reasonable. IIRC, at speed of, let alone faster than, light travel isn't nearly possible with the combined strength of all nukes on earth.

Lol. If you're talking about the movie Interstellar, I haven't seen it yet, so no more spoilers please. xD
Anyway, would we really do anything differently if we could colonize another world? Or just keep on doing the same things and hope things get better in time?
2530  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: November 25, 2014, 11:47:37 PM
^ if people accept it and continue to join the campaign, they have no incentive to raise that.
But it's still probably more than faucets, so many people will join it even if it pays little. : /

2532  Other / Off-topic / Re: IF YOU CAN USE YOUR BRAIN CAPACITY 100 % on: November 25, 2014, 10:27:45 PM
@Jetdata people are born different, have different things they have learned and experienced in life, and even the connections in the brain are different from the beginning. You can't expect 100% of brain use to mean everyone will perform the same way. That doesn't make sense.
2533  Other / Politics & Society / Re: bitcoin to fund terrorism on: November 25, 2014, 07:41:26 PM
if the banking kabal decides to discredit bitcoin in any way the easiest way would be to pin it to terrorism through mass media outlets. they can make a provocation with any t group in their disposal to openly use crypto. the point of this thread is to make discussion on what we, as a community can do about it when it hits us and consequently damage bitcoin reputation.

Better would be to do something before it happens. For example, if they start using bitcoin themselves, that would be the best way to avoid any problem lol.
You can have anonymous transactions if you do things right, so maybe we can convince them to use bitcoin at least for their illegal activities? xD
2534  Other / Off-topic / Re: Interesting book on: November 25, 2014, 05:25:11 PM
1984, The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy and the Diskworld series are my personal favorites.

I don't really get the second one.

The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy? I didn't read the books, only saw the film, and it was funny enough. But my friends tell me that the books are better.
I really liked "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" by Milan Kundera. It's a really interesting book.
2535  Other / Off-topic / Re: Soon millions of men will be having sex with female robots on: November 25, 2014, 04:56:04 PM
Well that video is a total failure and pretty much shows almost nothing.
I'm also interested in the question to what happens if the robot gets infected by malware, or someone hacks it while you're having sex with it? One could force it to kill you, could it not?

That reminds me of the news about cars that can be hacked, and possibly be used to kill you. : /
And I'm not sure I would like to have sex with a robot lol. Just seems too weird for me. xD
2536  Other / Politics & Society / Re: bitcoin to fund terrorism on: November 25, 2014, 04:17:26 PM
frankly... you are beyond belief... why would you want digitally traceable thing to finance terror? are you idiots or what?

BTC is PEACE.

I think there are services that allow you to mix your bitcoins with others so it is harder to know where they came from.
And bitcoin may already be used to finance terrorism, but I don't know if governments will go after it just because of that. Unless they need something to blame, to distract attention from other things. : /

@MUFC I think LuckyBit frees places when they pay the members, so you can try joining them. But from what I've seen, they get taken quickly. : /
2538  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you sell your account for $$$? on: November 20, 2014, 07:55:13 PM
No I would never sell my account, I don't think it should be allowed either.

I think so too, but there is no way to prevent it. : /
If they aren't sold here, they will be somewhere else. Like this, at least it's done in the open, and everyone knows about it.

Problem is that account creation and selling are what some people do for a living. Not only on this forum, on lots of others too. I firmly believe that the only reason someone will pay good money for an established account is to try and scam someone for more than they paid for the account. I don't believe the rubbish that account sellers bang on about people buying established accounts so they get accepted for signature campaigns, what a load of old bollocks.

Yes, a senior member account will get you into almost all campaigns, and receiving the maximum. More than that or accounts with trust are more likely to be used to try and scam people. : /
But while there is the incentive to do it and no easy way to stop it, it's at least good that everyone knows that it happens and that they should be careful even with older users.

Also calling every socialist retarded without knowing what socialism is, is probably not a good idea lol.
