261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Blackcoin Lore [BLK] | Home of PoS 3.0 | No ICO | No Pre-mine on: March 23, 2019, 09:07:59 AM
Hey all,

Been a while since I have done this. These last year has been a bit weird, regarding the price, regarding the community with rat4 launching Blacknet, Janko working on new things. It left many wondering "So, what is Blackcoin going to do now? Is this... It?".

It's not it. There still is a community actively building Blackcoin, with a new team under the name of "More", not to be confused with "Lore", Janko's protocol implementation.

For the past few months I have been helping guide lateminer address bugs and issues that were in Lore, including adding some other updates that he or I thought were appropriate. Everything was carefully considered, checked and then tested.

So finally! Blackcoin More is here! Get it now at http://blackcoinmore.org  or http://Blackcoin.org .  This is a very positive milestone for the Blackcoin community fully committing to continue what was left behind. It will be replacing Blackcoin Lore.

We thank the community for helping test this release.

Thanks! Also it's worth mentioning that I still maintain BlackHalo and BitHalo. It's still the only 2 party escrow software which is perfect for things like wire transactions without risk of theft or default, barter, sales of goods and services with risk of fraud practically eliminated. That and it has built in decentralized markets running for almost 5 years now. Would be nice if the Bitcoin community noticed how powerful a tool it really is.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BITTUBE | NOW LIVE | NO PREMINE | NO ICO | FIRST AIRTIME MEDIA PLAYER on: March 22, 2019, 05:44:20 AM
Youtube policies have nothing to do with the government. It's the advertisers preferences that count

Of course they do. Google owns YouTube and they have constantly worked directly with governments.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tech/8302913/youtube-conspiracy-theories-9-11-fake-news/

That is censorship. Period. In the above example it's not even a minority opinion.

Not to mention Twitter, Google and Facebook banned cryptocurrency advertising at the exact same time when BTC was like 15K usd which really should be seen as market manipulation. Only to decide later to allow "some" people to advertise at their discretion. Funny how 3 allegedly disassociated companies do the same thing at the same time.

https://mediachecker.wordpress.com/2013/09/15/these-6-corporations-control-90-of-the-media-in-america-the-illusion-of-choice/

And just recently Disney bought Fox giving them literal monopoly over some content.

By users simply flagging the inappropriate content
How to manage contents if the coming Bittube blogging platform allows real time videos, or something like this?
Even with powerful supports of AI technology, it will be likely impossible task to screen, check, and eliminate all bad-content stuffs.
Even Facebook, Twitter, Youtube can not manage those potential bad ones at the current period, so it is challenging for Bittube, surely.

Screening/flagging content is fruitless. If anything just properly categorize it so people know what it is. If something is objectionable why not just have a voting system where people can put it in a different category.

The internet should never be censored. People who cry for censorship do so by threatening others to steal their freedom of speech and expression. People will find a way to express themselves in one way or another. Stealing freedom is constantly disguised as "protection" of masses.

Bit.tube will totally thrive if it offers a censorship free platform that pays users for airtime and videos and never takes away monetization of content like YouTube does. YouTube just recently said they will censor "borderline content" which means that anything which goes against government interests will not show up in search results. By their own admission. Google even removed their slogan "do no evil" and changed it to "do the right thing".

Self righteousness is the cause of a lot of the human suffering. People should live and let live. To deny another man his freedoms preemptively is to threaten him with violence, censorship or worse. Society in order to be happy must mature past this.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: March 18, 2019, 08:49:50 PM
Interesting system, and are you in talks with exchanges and got some feedback whether they are fine with running additional specialized software?

Yeah that is the big question. There are a lot of exchanges and we have talked to many and some quote pretty high rates and others vary. We are developing a demo exchange pair so we know how much work integration is and that we have trained devs who understand integration that we could even offer them. It is a lot to ask of an exchange but considering it's a system that prevents market crashes you would think exchanges would flock to list us for free.

However some may not be interested and others will. I feel like out of the hundreds of exchanges we only really need one or two decent ones. Even if they are a small exchange once people see this system in action they will go there to trade.

In-F******credibly BEAUTIFUL!!!
It looks and runs great... It's all coming together.
The Worlds' First DECENTRALIZED Marketplace coupled with a Dynamic Pricing Peg for Stability!!! Congratulations!
(I personally think this should be the Home Page again:  https://bitbay.market/decentralized-marketplace - I love that video!

Yeah we also love that for a home page. However right now we are simply advertising the peg because it's very important for people to know about the stability feature in this bear market. I wonder if there would be a way to work the commercial into that page.

Apparently the current home page has resulted in a lot of downloads.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: March 11, 2019, 11:56:42 PM
There will also not be a reserve or anything like that? Where does the pegged currency gain its value from? Or the trust in the currency to preserve its value or even have value in the first place?

It's pretty simple. At 100% supply if you have 100 coins then they are all liquid to sell on the exchange.

If the supply drops 99% then you have 1 coin to sell on the exchange and 99 in reserve.

Thus, it requires less BTC to buy up the liquid coins... lower supply = higher price (as long as there is some demand and there is always some volume)

If the price goes too high too fast then lets say your reserve coins are released and supply goes 50% so you have 50 liquid 50 reserve.
That causes price to go down due to release of reserve coins.

If you sell those 50 liquid coins then you still keep your reserve and the new recipient upon inflation doesn't see a new influx of coins so it's not like a split or anything. Each set of coins has a memory of their liquidity shards and that is know upon each transfer. Exchanges do a liquidity share on the orderbook so the quality of coins is consistent for all users on the exchange. Even so, an exchange would have two orderbooks BAY (liquid) and BAYR (reserve) and the two will shift in proportion through the day. Exchange must run special software to do track this because the blockchain will require correct accounting.

This peg doesn't require any backing or reserve funds. It's forceful decentralized control of supply. The decision to do this is based on when users win a stake they can cast a vote deciding if it goes up or down 1% compound. These voting intervals allow up to 21 times of 1% supply change compounded daily. So a bear market can be crushed in it's tracks almost the same day.

This obviously raises investor confidence too and makes it cheaper to be a market maker as long as they understand the algorithms voters are using. If voting system get's abused then we can switch to give greater weight to algorithmic votes.

You can find more info on this at bitbay.market
There is also a whitepaper at the downloads page as well as a testnet QT which you can see for yourself how it effects your wallet.

Really looking forward to testing the demo exchange w/ Dynamic Peg voting here soon! Everyone will finally be able to witness the effect of liquidity's change on price.

Is there a technical overview how the whole pegging system will work? And will it be pegged to the $ or to a basket or something else? Or even to several currencies?

It's dynamic so it does not have to be pegged to a specific asset. We have an algorithm that tracks the peak of the entire market (starting 20 cents to 1/100k of BTC 20k) and let's itself set new peaks under sustained circumstances. Users vote to increase/decrease supply which can obviously effect price and liquidity. Eventually once we find things that we like to track we can have algorithm take precedence over votes. In theory the system can be used for a hard peg and even in that case I believe it to be much more robust than any other peg because the supply is forcefully driven in any direction without hyperinflation or backing against crypto. Just the basics of supply and demand.

What is Bit Bay Really?
(From the BitBay Dynamic Peg Overview)

"BitBay is the world’s first peer-to-peer, decentralized contracting platform.
Everything from household items to real estate have been bought and sold using BitBay’s marketplace, all without any third-party involvement.

We are proud to announce a brand new method of price control for BitBay (BAY), one that has yet to be seen in the stablecoin industry.
It’s called the Dynamic Peg. With this system of liquidity control, BAY now serves as both a store of value, and a medium of exchange for users. It stimulates organic trading volume, increases potential profit for investors, and creates price stability for our p2p marketplace.

It is purely decentralized, non asset-backed and most importantly, a democratic system. The Dynamic Peg reduces volatility, without anchoring the price to any one point. Through a secure Proof of Stake 3.0 voting mechanism, stakers can now collectively adjust the liquidity of BAY’s total supply. This creates three balances for users: Liquid, Reserve and Frozen..."

To learn more go to:  - https://bitbay.market/downloads/bitbay-dynamic-peg-intro.pdf

That's right! Now we need to get the word out. It's possible the majority of the crypto industry doesn't see yet the power of these simple tools. When will they notice?!
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 27, 2019, 04:38:18 AM
The Peg is more important...
Good Move.

Yeah we need to sort out this bear market first and get on board with exchanges to run this thing. That's why we are making the demo exchange so they can see how we implemented it.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 26, 2019, 12:11:25 AM
How hard can it be to fix the Staking Calculator?
I liked using it to calculate my immediate value of Bay in US$.
Everything else is working quite well, why have a link on the website that doesn't work?
Either fix it, once and for all, or remove it altogether.

I mentioned something about it, we had to make cutbacks during the bear market so our web deb is working on some of the peg exchange integration and has to make time for it.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 23, 2019, 09:23:01 AM
This project is starting to look awesome.

The whole crypto-asset market is now jostling for position and starting to weed out scams from survivors. Two things are defining what separates one from the other:

 • inspired ideas supported by dedicated developers and communities
 • genuine use cases

Over the last few months I've been looking for things to ditch because I need some losses to offset tax liabilities.

I've been ruthless in that regard, however....Bitbay is now a definite hold. Not just for economic reasons but for the reason I got invested in the first place - to be along for the ride while watching an entire commercial and social dimension change shape.

It's a good community. Also with the peg in testnet and the work on the exchange we will have the only coin in the industry with a dynamic supply. Not sure why the mainstream has not noticed this yet. Most of our challenges will actually be negotiating with exchanges and promoting. Once we get even a single decent exchange signed up for the peg it is game on!
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 23, 2019, 09:20:25 AM
does it exist any relation between  BLK and BAY currencies outside of the same dev dzimbeck ?

The only relation was I started with BitHalo and needed an altcoin for speed concerns. So I chose BLK because it was the only POS coin that was 100% POS since Peercoin was POS+POW. Later on I took BitBay because it was the first normal looking project I was offered and my projects were free open source ones and I didn't really hold a big position in BLK. The rest as they say, is history.

I still maintain the BitHalo and BlackHalo code base. The majority of any blockchain improvements I do are here though... such as the peg.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 13, 2019, 09:47:46 PM
Great to hear the latest news about BAY development, but can someone from the dev team please confirm that an application for a FREE listing will be made to Antilly.com?  Every little helps.   Cheesy

It depends on if the exchange will run the peg tracking software. Also I don't see them on coinmarketcap?!
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 12, 2019, 11:03:26 AM
That is great to hear - Thank you David.
After watching you and Bay for years get to where you are now, if you say "sit back, relax and enjoy the show" - I'm going to order some popcorn (and keep stacking)!

I researched every one the top 500 coins over 2 years ago and came to the conclusion Bay was the best crypto for the long haul.
I also made a lot of money trading many different coins literally night and day for 6 months until I burned out; then I just wanted to get one coin and HODL.  I chose Bay to hit a Grand Slam in this game of crypto-currency, while the price is very accessible to large purchases.

The name is so great and the project so feature rich; I just hope that people can find us and not the Polish Exchange. lol
If Bay hits even 50 cents, and stays there, I am incredibly set for life unless I become a crack head AND get a Dubai stripper addiction.
Cheers!

Hahah thats awesome. Yeah thanks for the support and we do have a pretty strong community. We will persist, it's like the "Turtle and The Hare". Slow and steady wins the race. We built first, marketed later.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 09, 2019, 10:49:36 PM
Reality just smacked me in the face when I did a search on Google for "BitBay".

We need to reconcile the differences between BitBay the Coin and BitBay the Polish Exchange.
This has been a problem for years.  We've now gone from the top 50 to the top 300...

Unless the two come together somehow, the coin (BitBay.market) is just floating around LOST in the number 4 position on Google.
I am a SEO expert.  This is not good.  Even if we DO have the most Feature Rich and Best Crypto on the planet (which we do), we are invisible.

We are F***** until we have our own identity.  No one can find us.  Do a hard fork and change the name.
Changing the name would also give us much needed and positive publicity - which we desperately need.

You are exaggerating. The entire market is down. Almost every coin is 1/10th it's peak in BTC or more. We are page one for BitBay, page one for decentralized markets, page one for unbreakable contracts and so forth. It's okay. Sit back, relax, enjoy the show.

Web markets are in demo phase, peg is being integrated to exchanges, client is complete.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 09, 2019, 09:46:43 AM
Didn't Cryptopia go insolvent?

Who knows?
Only the NZ police have posted any info.
Word is only ETH and erc20 tokens were affected.

Exchange has been closed for near a month.
No Communication.

Even if they open only a fool will trade there after such performance.

most of these exchanges are just stealing from themselves and claiming to be hacked... anyone who is in control of millions of dollars and isn't using multisig is already being fairly neglectful of their users... recently an exchange owner died and he could have had checklocktimeverify to go to at least someone... so with any exchanges there is serious risk.

I've made software to decentralize so many things but it goes unnoticed because people flock to volume. It would be nice to see this change some day.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 09, 2019, 04:09:45 AM
WTF?
BAY doesn't need a FREE listing in light of the Cryptopia situation?

Let me know in comment rather than censorship.

Perhaps the team thought it was just an advertisement. No worries. I don't really believe in censorship although sometimes the mods
clear out comments on the thread.

Didn't Cryptopia go insolvent?

Great news from Shorn regarding the listing on OEX.com.
Really great news.

If one looks at what Tradersnow has written in the past, as well as what Kraterion just posted - you have EXCELLENT basic explanations of the Bay Peg.

Comment on The Current Market:
For those old enough to remember the .com crash of 2000, this Bear Market in the cryptos is very similar.
It's very apparent we have been in a Crypto Crash since Jan 3-6, 2018 and it continues to this day.
I believe cryptos will follow an upward tread that trails the Precious Metals.
Look at the uptick in PM's, starting back in October of 2018.
The US Federal Reserve Note (Global Reserve Currency) and all Sovereign Fiat are under pressure.
Out of this Crypto Crash of 2018, like the .com bubble, the cream will rise to the top and survive. Bay is cream.

If one is paying attention, there has been almost NO movement in the top 20 Wallets or Rich List in Bay over the past 2 years I have been watching it 24/7/365. Interesting.

People underestimate this project. It's also not heavily marketed. Nonetheless, users will no longer be able to crush the market with sell pressure after the peg is implemented. It's an awesome tool. What "Basis" raised 100 million to do, we did for free. We also did it decentralized, community driven, no unsustainable incentives, no custodians, no speculative backing. And yet "Basis" abandons the project and big investors keep giving funds to these projects that promise and don't deliver. When will they start supporting projects that do deliver but don't ask?

I am confident once the web market place is fully functional that this project will start to grab up lots of users. Just trying to ebay anything now from from EU to CAN or US to EU or anything like this they auto add on all the duties and tax even on the shipping the result is a huge huge bill for essentially nothing. Some objects are just not worth it now. Bitbay with zero fees for selling and no paypal fees and no horrendous other charges they are adding now for things that seem to be far more than the actual duties and tax means the margins will be massive on bitbay. We just need it to become 100% easy to use for the most basic of people.

I mean once the market gets populated (metals and expensive objects seem idea for bay where paypal is a big risk for real high value objects) and people start seeing how brilliant this is it will snowball.

I mean I would be in favour of the pegging algo auto aiming for 1 dollar. Just makes it simple for people to use and understand. Also 1B cap seems more than good value compared to other projects for what you get. No hurry to cash out if you support the project anyway. With any kind of adoption that will be small change anyway for this project once it starts rolling. I just hope we can handle fast scaling adoption with no hiccups.

Lots of good money to be made just reshipping ebay stuff or under cutting ebay sellers by huge amounts especially abroad.

A friend of mine built a data scraper for amazon that could be used to resell items. The drawback is the markup. Maybe also that and various things to repost job offers and such could speed up adoption. I remember when I used to post jobs to Craigslist it would find its way to multiple websites on it's own.
