Saudi's and China are dumping US treasuries.
Looks like I'm going to try to convert more USD to crypto .

Let the political war games begin!!

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-11-16/saudis-china-dump-treasuries-foreign-central-banks-liquidate-record-375-billion-us-p (edited)

Finally we might see a true bull run.

BIT BAY

LOL

DEAD ever since the bob breakup and scams of chinese exchange!!!

Dead but still above WBB? Not that WBB isn't a reasonable outside chancer. The definition of dead though needs some focus in this case.

I would expect both of these projects to be way higher than they are if their plans come to fruition although BAY significantly higher than WBB.

Bay should be higher than most of the coins on coinmarketcap. It should be top 20. World's first decentralized markets as promised.  Grin

I agree that the anon fad isn't over. However with ZCoin and ZCash I'm not sure we can complete unless we use Zero knowledge. Anonymous broadcasting is better than almost all anon except for the top ones (SDC, Monero, Nav, Zcoin, Zcash)

Anon broadcast has very few flaws. People can only exploit Bitmessage in that example.

However it takes time to do POW in Bitmessage and then you have to wait and see if your transaction gets in the chain. From an engineering standpoint, it may not be worth it to sidetrack when we already have so many great features.

I say let's get the important templates done get the API done and of course finish pegging. Then we see what doors open.

Yes that is true, although even privacy enough to keep the average joe from seeing what his pals are buying is probably all that is required.

Is nav really a good design? imagine soopy could have been a good developer had he taken this more seriously. Im pretty sure he invented navs version of anon. I thought that was a simple design but if you rate it then i may have underestimated it.

I've heard Nav was a good design. But I've not independently verified it. The idea of parallel chains was interesting. My favorite ANON coin concept is obviously ZCash. However, SDC and Monero with ring signatures are a good second. And NAV is sort of 3rd. I think anonymous broadcast is better than most anon protocols but it isn't better if an exploit is found in Bitmessage so it all depends on how people audit that.

ZCash is on another level because its zero knowledge proof. You can't know who moves what, only you can know your own balance. However ZCash is memory intensive and ZCoin claims not to be.

In the end, anonymous broadcast is a low-tech and extremely simple system. I have no idea how someone would know who owns what account since your IP address is just thrown in the big pool of addresses and nobody in specific broadcasts. You would have to spoof a lot of nodes to break it.

But like I've said, no reason to derail development. Lets just stay course and people will see very soon the power of Bitbay.

Any xmas surprises coming for bay? or mostly going to be rolling out 2017 now? was there mention of some novel privacy technique ?
There is a privacy technique for broadcast forwarding. I'm not sure if adding it is a distraction. The next update should be done by then. I wanted to have more done by now however a lot of it will be Q1 2017.

We will have a big update before Xmas

Privacy features are not important yet imo while the value of a token is still so low. If/when people start transferring $1k worth of coins regularly it becomes a valuable thing to have.

Okay thanks that what I was thinking too and plus anonymous broadcasting is a great idea but when contracting it can delay transactions because they need to be forwarded.

So the next update will have voting/staking support, advanced payment options, settings and Tor and other options.

However we won't be able to stake until we fork to POS 3.0

The following nodes are in bitbay.conf

addnode=104.236.208.150
addnode=188.166.39.223
addnode=128.199.118.67

addnode=23.227.190.163

is that o.k or did i need other nodes?

ciao

The old nodes have changed one service we used is no longer around, the rest were from the old ico.

So please try using my peers.dat file.

Here is the file, replace the one you have in the data directory

how can online my wallet

reply pls

Try using my peers.dat file since there are more nodes already connected to it. The main nodes have changed since launch.

Never have I seen a top 20 coin go negative 50x like almost 99% decrease

so how much did you pay for a legendary account? you can't be around that long LOL. there were dozens of them

What the hell are you talking about? I'm the dev of BitHalo, this is my account. I've been around for 3+ years. Steemit sucks. The idea is good but the structure of their token is unfair to investors. The system is centralized, 100% interest isn't viable at all it totally screws investors and seeing that people can power down and hearing that the dev dumps on investors pretty much says it all.

Sure a few other top coins have gone down a lot but 99%?? Even Blackcoin only went down 10x and that took years. I only hold BLK cause I made BlackHalo as well and don't want to sell on investors. You know nothing. Steemit reverse 50x in like a couple months. Name one other coin that went down that fast from top 10.

Hmm okay maybe Auroracoin. There's maybe a couple others but not so many man it's one of the worst dumps in crypto

Wow, thanks Sig! That really means a lot! Wink

Hey David...
Question about the cold staking.

So we have 2 private keys running on 2 different computers as a joint account.

But what if one of the keys was on one computer and the other private key was a joint account key with 2 keys on 2 separate computers.

Wouldn't that make a joint account with a joint account and virtually create a system with the capabilities to hold a 'hot' cold wallet on 3 computer devices?

Couldn't that make for an endless loop of security?
As the 2nd key could keep splitting into 2 more keys?

So if an exchange like bittrex wanted to stake the coins (on average they've held around 115 million Bays for 2 years - that's a lot coin minting power they are throwing away!), they could essentially have the cold wallet on 4 to 5 different devices, passphrase protected (with timed anti-keylogger security), and hidden in images?

It would make it unhackable! They only way they could hack the system is if it's an inside job.
Heck with this in mind they could even create a money back guarantee because they know it would have to be an inside job if it happened!

Yeah essentially all accounts have 2 keys so you can set one on the main computer and the other on multiple servers. The whole theory behind cold staking is to allow staking without hacking. However anti-keylogger won't help since you need to unlock the wallet to stake

We have an open communication channel with Polo and usually will have some communication when Sycoin 2.1 fork is nearing, once all of that is complete I will also put in good word to Tristan.

Thanks, we all really appreciate that. Good luck on your fork!

100% inflation what a joke. It's a slap in the face to investors.

I only threw in a few btc to hedge risk against other investments. However this was by far the worst investment I've ever made in crypto

"Dan the man" ... not sure so many investors think you are a man.

If powering down is possible then the 100% inflation makes holding this utterly worthless.

Never have I seen a top 20 coin go negative 50x like almost 99% decrease

Did you try to talk to them?

A few of us have, I have not personally talked to him. Mostly because i would prefer his person contact info instead of just the normal submit form. If someone knows him personally they should do a smart contract with him to prove it.

Poloniex should add us, it's totally crazy that they don't.

They add coins with no development.

Does not make sense to me.

The thing is as the size of the software increases so does the work load. But the good news is I'm making progress. There is an end in sight. I've got it all mapped out. The fiasco with Zcash was a perfect example of supply and demand something we intend to have more control of.
996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Syscoin vs Bitbay on: October 24, 2016, 10:22:17 AM
Bitbay? I remember this scam, related to blackcoin. Fake promises, fake pump and dump, bagholders have this coin, how can it be compared with syscoin? Sys is solid one.

Fake promises?? Download the software bro. I delivered the worlds first decentralized markets.

http://motherboard.vice.com/read/this-decentralized-bitcoin-market-is-for-legal-stuff-only

The only pumping was done by the idiotic founders who wanted to harm my reputation. But they left the project... but I'm the dev, I never left. And I didn't even get much of what they raised.

Delivered decentralized markets and like 15 other features.

Sure the market cap is small, so what. I can't force people to use the best software in crypto haha. Its got the worlds best security like asynchronous payment and multisig, unbreakable contracts, decentralized markets, automated joint accounts, steganography(hiding things in images like keys), 100 languages, a live python interpreter and a bunch of templates.

So what does Dogecoin have? Nothing? Yeah thats right... just more volume. What does Litecoin have? Nothing its just old like Bitcoin. Bitbay and Syscoin at least develops and they should be above Dogecoin dammit.

Download the Bitbay software, see for yourself. It works perfectly fine. And when its pegged and templates are done? Game over. I will deliver unless I die haha.
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: October 24, 2016, 10:08:01 AM
Investors see a changelog, and cry that software isn't done after a half a year of being released.

You mean TWO and a HALF years. They didn't start writing Lisk the moment it went live on exchanges.
Lisk is a fork of Crypti, that's been in the works since early 2014. Stop trying to delude people.

I'm not trying to delude anyone. I've got no vested interest man... sure I bought some in the ICO but thats not why I commented. This is literally my first comment on this thread. I commented because I was wondering why the price was just pathetically drifting down and saw this thread was a little bit overwhelmed with negativity. If I'm not mistaken, Crypti had some working software true?! Like it was original code... not a Bitcoin fork right?

So he forked Crypti, okay. We all are forks of forks. Blackcoin is a fork of Novacoin which was based on Peercoin and everyone forks Blackcoin. And tons of people fork Bitcoin or Litecoin. Big deal, can they IMPROVE it? If they think they can, great if not you've got yourself a scammer.

So now (apparently) he is coding and fixing things. He (has) a changelog. Go look at github and see if these changes are happening. If not you have a case to complain.

Also IF he raised a few million and didn't hire any coders then yeah thats a big problem. I know nothing about what is going on honestly and am admitting that. BUT coders who do blockchain that can do anything of significance other than copy+paste or take instructions and stare at a blank screen all day are EXTREMELY hard to find. I've had the same problem. And to be honest if I had a million, I wouldn't really know who to hire. Its easier to code myself and much faster.

Anyways, don't worry, I won't comment on it again. Just if you guys are going to make allegations make sure they are legit. And notice my advice to Max... he can still certainly deliver a product. My advice to him was to release some sample DAPPS even on a testnet. Something to show the theory behind sidechain DAPPs.

Actually, I invested because on their webpage they had a tutorial and talked about testnets and various APP tests and I felt like Sidechains don't bloat the blockchain and move risk off of the mainnet.
Not like Ethereum the master monster of bloat and organized hype.

So actually I really like the idea of sidechains and two way pegs and such.

But i dont know for anyone who has been following this might know better. Regardless, I'm not selling my coins... hope to see this thing actually go up. For Shadowcash I had to wait 3 years and wow was there a shitstorm on their thread. Try being a crypto dev. Better yet make your name public and be a crypto dev. Most of you could NEVER stand the heat.
998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: October 24, 2016, 09:32:20 AM
Investors see a changelog, and cry that software isn't done after a half a year of being released. Wahhhh much sadness so fashion very crypto. Isn't coding like easy or something?!?

Hahahahah how many of these investors have serious coding experience?  Cheesy

Anyways, Max you gotta work extra hard. Not sure how many people you hired since ICO. But consider its maybe not so constructive to get stressed out over trolls on the forum. Unless of course their allegations of stagnation and bugs are true. You need to get some sample APPS out. A Crypto Dice program. Anything. You got millions man, make sure to deliver what you promised.

Someone once told me that Venture Capital is a "golden cage" and examples like this are perfect... when you shake down a crowdfund its like you have 100 bosses. And this is one of the drawbacks of advertising sidechains without some really good sample DAPPS and coding instructions. Promise and then deliver or deliver and then promise? I prefer the latter. Or maybe neither. Just deliver.

This is what I couldn't stand about Ethereum... they didn't have shit and raised 20 million without a working demo. A total shakedown. Then spent like 300k a month or something exorbitantly high. Started running out of funds and pulled the DAO nonsense (it may not have been Vitaliks fault, he was surrounded by a lot of greedy people).

Anyways good luck... keep coding and get some DAPPS made.

So for the blockchain boost file...

I'd like to finish a tutorial video on it to accompany the next update on the client. I'm guessing it will have a new peer.dat file for better synchronicity.

So I need to ask again, after a noob installs the client and wants to use the blockchain boost file to speed up the sync process...
What would the instructions be?
Will it be as easy as the user unzipping the bootstrap file (being the bitbaydata folder)  and replacing the whole folder with the old bitbaydata folder in their existing BitBay directory?

Not sure how frequently have we been updating it? If it's a bootstrap they need to load it in a special way. If it's just exact copy of blockchain files the only need to paste it in the bitbaydata directory

So is the price increase in BTC due to the news about the quantum computer test?

http://www.altcointoday.com/bitcoin-can-withstand-quantum-computer-attacks/

I think Quantum Computers don't and never will exist. Quantum mechanics is religious psuedo scientism.

However researching new computer hardware components may help with faster computer especially when using light in processing.

Also, NuBits peg broke I remember telling you guys on slack it would go back to a dollar on speculation alone. Was an easy way to double BTC. Unfortunately the volume was so low you couldn't buy in enough to make significant amounts.
