264  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin breaks 2021 ATH and hits $71k! on: March 31, 2024, 09:20:09 PM
As Bitcoin smashes its previous record highs even before the halving, it's a time of excitement for many. But let's not get too carried away. With the market becoming more unpredictable, we need to tread carefully. Some big players, like investment funds and ETFs, seem to be buying up Bitcoin aggressively, possibly to create scarcity and drive prices skyward. While this may seem like a good thing, there's a chance it's all part of a larger game they're playing. We need to keep our eyes open and not be blinded by the euphoria, as the market might have some surprises in store.

What do you think will be the larger game that they are playing? I mean the rules have changed since 2017, and that's where the time that we have seen that and so we obviously have adjusted already, we've seen what institutional money can do to that market.

But this is different, we have reach new all time high prior the halving and I think everyone is prepared already. If you are thinking of a dump, the price went to $62,000 and for me this is the lowest price already pre-halving, in my opinion. So the best thing to do is just keep on accumulating and look for the long term prospect of the market which is the bull run till next year.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: March 31, 2024, 08:25:40 AM
2 title fights in the undercard. Not bad. Hoping for Briedis to get back his old belt but it's a mission nearly impossible since he is inactive and is also nearing in his 40s. Beterbiev, if he becomes undisputed with a clear win over Bivol should move up and face the winner.

I wonder if there are also odds for Fury to make another excuses to cancel or delay this fight. Cheesy Anyways, he gets what he wants. He has a lot of time to train while trimming down in weight to become faster. But I am not counting out yet on Fury making another drama to get out of this unification if he performs bad in sparring sessions.

Not sure Fury wanted to make another excuses mate, I mean if he did then more than the belt itself, his will lose the respect of the biggest boxer broker right now which is HE Turki Alalshikh. And he might not get a chance to step on Saudi if he will do that.

So for me this is a go already and Fury even if he gets injured or what, should proceed.

I would also agree that the undercard is pretty lame, but I guess this fighter is willing to go to Saudi now and make their bones.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Report: ExxonMobil Running Pilot Project to Supply Flared Gas for Bitcoin Mining on: March 31, 2024, 08:02:16 AM
I am just wondering why they are doing this? Is it for PR?

If it's for PR stunt then we should have heard news from them from time to time. But they started like 2 years ago and we haven't heard if it is a success or not or if they continue to. I assume they are as they have excessive supply and they don't want to waste it.

Reason being is that this is a extremely rich company and they don’t really need any of the bitcoin profits. I am guessing perhaps they did this project to see how it would go. If it lead to stable mining conditions and decent profits, they could say that those profits would all be donated to environmental charities.

Since there was no report since then, I am assuming it was very difficult to get a stable miner to function and they called it quits.

What do you mean? even rich people will go for free money whichever way they can. And so it's shooting two birds with one stone. They will look good from the environmentalist perspective as they recycle everything and then getting profits at the side, regardless how big or small it is.
267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Navarrete Vs Berinchyk Vacant WBO World Lightweight Title May 18 2024 on: March 31, 2024, 07:37:10 AM

Fight is still far though, we haven't seen the kick off press conference yet, but for sure Navarette is very happy in moving up in weight as he will not have to drain himself again and have that chance to crack for another belt.

That was always the issue when he was in the Featherweight division and surprisingly he still performed better than expected, with Navarrete's frame and builds he can go up further but the higher you go up the more challenging opposition you're going to face.
He is still good in the Lightweight but he will be facing tough opposition trying to unite it, with Tank Davis and Shakur you'll have a very tough challenge ahead.

And the higher you go up, most likely you will lose your power as well, his frame is somewhat in between, but we have seen the he indeed has problems with making 130 lbs. Although he could have clean it up the division at Jr. Lightweight and fought O'Shaquie Foster, the risk is very high for him.

So better move to the new division Lightweight become a champion with his chance here, then maybe fought rank boxers. But it will be very difficult for him as we have Tank and Shakur as well or others as this division is pretty much stack up. However, he was given a chance by the WBO so why not take advantage of that.

As we have seen, Navarette cannot easily stop his opponents lately unlike when he was at 122 and 126. He's got a huge frame so he can move up. But he will becoming slower.

It would've been great if Navarette tried unifying the belts at 130 first before moving up into another division. But his team also knew that he seem to have reached his limits already and is becoming beatable lately. So it is better to lose trying to get a belt in another division than lose to another champion at 130.

If Navarette becomes the WBO champion at 130, he might only face the IBF champion since Kambosos and Loma are with TR. WBC champ Shakur already said that he will not renew his contract. While the coward and cherry picker WBA email champ Tank Davis keeps hiding under the PBC umbrella. Cheesy

Yeah, it was really a good decision by the team to move him up, and he admitted that he has time making the weight that's why there is sign like in the Wilson fight that he is vulnerable already.

So he is really stepping up the plate and the competition here starting with Berinchyk. And he will be the favorite here and becoming a champion here will open doors for him and obviously bigger paycheck as the risk is going to be bigger as well as he will face bigger names.
268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu - Seabastian Fundora For The WBC And WBO Super Welterweight March 30 on: March 31, 2024, 07:16:51 AM
Fundora’s freakish height caused this to become a really messy and bloody fight after Tszyu’s head clashed with Fundora’s elbow. I expected this fight to be stopped by the ringside doctor or the referee but the pace slowed down significantly and the injuries on both fighters didn’t get too much worse.

Despite the height difference Tszyu was still able to hit Fundora cleanly and it looked early on like he would get a clear win. Unfortunately, the cut was affecting his vision. This allowed Fundora to jab his way to a close decision victory. The situation with the titles now becomes complicated because Crawford successfully petitioned the WBO to become mandatory but PBC had other plans involving Errol Spence. Tszyu also deserves a rematch against Fundora.

I would agree, the referee should stop the fight as obviously that elbow really did damage to Tszyu. But they let it go throughout the next 10 rounds and we can that if affected Tim in the fight.

I think it boils down to Fundora's decision, he is the champion, so he can either go with the rematch in Australia, or fight Crawford as per WBO. So let's see what his decision is. But for me, I wanted a rematch for Tim, I think he deserves if after what happened in this fight. And Fundora should be all-in to settle this score. He will have to travel though to Tim's Australia.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rolando Romero-Isaac Cruz to meet on March 30 in Las Vegas. on: March 31, 2024, 06:55:05 AM
I only get to see the highlight of the fight it is a massacre of Isaac Cruz on Rolly Romero, Isaac Cruz is unstoppable pummeling him with a barrage of punches.

Isaac is very motivated to hurt Romero right from the start because of the insult and Romero thinks that he can hurt Isaac but the Pitbull just eats up his punches.
This is the second loss of Romero and the second stoppage of his career maybe this will end his bragging and insulting his opponents.

It's just so funny that the two fighters who stop him are small guys who he insulted, I guess this is the end of the road for Romero.

Yeah, that's what really happens when someone underestimate his opponent, they are going to regret it later. So the hype of Isaac Cruz is for real, he is now at the top of 140 lbs and a champion and so he also take notice to the likes of Subriel Matias or even Teo Lopez.

But I wanted him to defend it first before going with the big boys, he needs to proved that it's no fluke winning against the overrated Romero. As for Rolly, well he needs to go back to the drawing board but I do not see him as the top tier 140 lbs.
270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 30, 2024, 03:03:27 PM
^ Interesting as well is the fight in the women's division, Seniesa & Valle. This is for the undisputed minimum belt. Both women make the weight, Seniesa Estrada 104.2 lbs vs. Yokasta Valle 104.3 lbs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z7KK9l_kdM

Here is the video where they exchanges not so pleasantries.

And as per the link given, both are in total shape.

And this lady put up a good fight as expected, it went to the distance though, as Seniesa Estrada outpoints Yokasta Valle, 97-93 from the 3 judges scoring at ring side.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UAcmIJ2WvI

I agree with the winner here, as I have said, it's close by Estrada has more pop from his pump and good techniques throwing it. As compare to Valle who I think is just throwing everything and his punch doesn't have that snap that Estrada has.

Maybe we will see a rematch?
271  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: March 30, 2024, 02:40:10 PM
I think if gambling companies can help to giving beginners to understand gambling and addiction it will help and reduce the rate at which people get addicted o gambling, I mean good lesson for people to get understanding.  Or do gambling companies benefit from gamblers who are addicted, which the awareness of getting addicted can affect their business?.

In the first place, I don't think that gambling companies are going to help someone, it's there business and if they do this, then they are going to lose money. The only way that supposedly this casinos are doing are self-inclusion.

And casinos for me doesn't have the responsibility to warn people not to get addicted, I mean we has individuals knows what gambling can bring to us and so it's either we understand it like you do, or totally ignored the facts and just get started their journey into gambling itself and let them learn their lessons in a very expensive way.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 30, 2024, 02:20:55 PM
I'm 50/50 on it right now, but Jake only seems to be the slight favourite with the bookies right now.

Speaking of Favorites, I tried to search if "official" odds are available right now. I understand that it's about 4 months to go before the fight so official odds might not come out yet at this time but at least, maybe we can find some unofficial odds, or also called preliminary odds, from some famous bookmakers.

According to this site, there's still no official odds yet as of their last update several hours ago.

The unofficial odds available out there are provided by one of the head oddsmakers of a popular sportsbook, the odds are:

Jake Paul: -360
Mike Tyson: +300

If ever that odds prediction will somehow close to the official odds, it might be worth putting some on Tyson.

However, for me, I'm not really sure if a serious fight will happen here.

There is also a risk that it will not be a serious fight, but rather a fight for entertainment.

Or it could be what we saw in the fight between Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belford... That the Brazilian fighter took the fight seriously even against the retired Holyfield and destroyed him in less than 2 minutes of the fight, but was heavily criticized for it, for take it seriously... Anyway, I'm rooting for Mike and for this fight to be a real fight.

Just all hopes that the fight won't be rigged. That the Mike Tyson who entered into that contract won't be acting like on a wrestling match scripted type. just truly rooting for real boxing match. Mike is fighter after all. I hope he won't be diving into entertainment type of sports where his aim to just earn more money. Because them, he's just like making fun of the sport that made him great early on his career. IN any case I would still bet under Mike's name.

We really can't say if the fight will be rigged or not, but looking at the leaked rules, it seems that the only way for this fight to end if by knockout. And so with that, there is no script that can really put here unless Tyson and Jake Paul rehearse everything before the actual fight?

But that will be weird though. And that 2 minute rule might benefit Tyson as he is the older guy obviously and needed not to fight for 3 minutes as we have questions whether he has the stamina to stay or gas out after just a couple of rounds.
273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: March 30, 2024, 02:00:25 PM
Haney shouldn't taken Ryan Garcia lightly and shouldn't be looking for his next opponent as he could lose focus here. Although Ryan is a big underdog, I think he is more capable of making a upset with is left hook. It is still dangerous in my opinion, if by chance he touches Haney early, we will see how he can cope with that power of Ryan.

Both sides are quiet, implying that they are into deep training, next will be the weigh-in for this guys but it's about the day prior to the fight.

So now it's more on dieting I guess and then honing their skills with their respecting trainers and laying down their strategy and plan B.

Yeah, I agree that Haney should take Ryan Garcia seriously and respect the latter's left hook because that could be the punch that could end the night for him.

Good for them that they are quiet as this is the sign that this fight is a go and no more obstacles like mental health issues that could derail this very important fight for the two of them.

Yes, and I think Haney doesn't underestimate his opponents, he has reach this far though, so good for him as he is still undefeated. Even Prograis who we thought could give Haney a great fight, was a total mismatch. He even floor Prograis, a supposedly natural 140 lbs and has power.

So it speaks volume of Haney's discipline and not taking for granted his opponents. Specially in the case of Ryan Garcia here, who has one of the best left hook. It's quick and short and very fast and once it landed flush, you really will have to go down because of the power.
274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu - Seabastian Fundora For The WBC And WBO Super Welterweight March 30 on: March 29, 2024, 10:44:43 PM
I just found out that Brian Mendoza will also be in this fight as he will be fighting Serhii Bohachuk (23-1) for the WBC interim super welterweight title. So if my chance he wins, he will have another crack maybe for the regular belt being held by the winner of this fight.

And just like what fans says here, Brian said that he expects Tim to win and uses body shots to slow down the tall Fundora. This was the same strategy that he uses when he knockout Fundora. Also the final weigh-in for those who wants to see and read their body language https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wbvgsh335bE.

Take note though that Fundora did eat Pizza and Burger as per Tim. But Fundora says that he has a fast metabolism and so he can do that.
275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rolando Romero-Isaac Cruz to meet on March 30 in Las Vegas. on: March 29, 2024, 10:18:43 PM
The weigh-in,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6TlenFg6Mc

138 3/4 pounds for the challenger Pitbull Cruz. Romero at 139 1/2 pounds. And then Romero giving the middle finger to Pitbull, LOL.

Romero might be the champion here, but he is a big underdog against the pressure fighter in Pitbull Cruz. Do we see a new champion this weekend? Or Romero retaining his belt (this is first time defending the belt).
276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: March 29, 2024, 09:30:29 PM
This is always the reality with betting going all in on the games sometimes the pain that comes from losing all in a bet makes the gambler to think that the casino manipulate the game outcome but in reality you just happen to lose as usual
Since we already know the risk that comes along with gambling why then do some gamble with the mindset of winning there going all in on the bet with the whole of the balance which can trigger they bankruptcy of balance at a bet?

And that's why we always say that gambling can really affect our negatively specially if we are going to lose everything after going in. Most of us have been in that kind of situation, our decision making process is not that call, like in poker, when we snap call when we think that we have the best hand, but our emotions are biases and so the OP goes all in but the outcome was a loss.

Just tonight though, almost the same experience for me, but I have to move over and just take that lose and go to sleep. Otherwise it will just bother me all day as what I made that bad decision of going all in instead of just taking it in a stride and giving me a chance to comeback or make break even at least.

278  Economy / Economics / Re: INFLATION, A MOTIVATION TO INVEST IN CRYPTOFASHIONS on: March 29, 2024, 06:24:28 PM
I think Bitcoin has proven itself during the pandemic, safe haven, a hedge for our wealth. So there's no need to be motivate oneself to invest in crypto. As long as you know what you are doing, and that you have a goal, i.e. preserved wealth, there is no better time than right now.

But the thing is that there are investors who might have the wrong mindset in the beginning, when they thought that BTC is a get rich scheme. And then they invest on meme coins and shit coins thinking that is it the easiest way to make more money which is not.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu - Seabastian Fundora For The WBC And WBO Super Welterweight March 30 on: March 28, 2024, 11:09:31 PM
The fun was ruined... I thought Thurman was up and wants to be a champion again but unable to make it for this big fight would say that he is done in boxing. Pacman ruined him and now he is getting older and having a problem in coming back. Honestly, I don't know Tim Tszyu's opponent, I bet he is not popular, so this could be another fight cherry pick by his camp for a sure win.

That's what everyone believed, so I agree, Manny Pacquiao has ruined Keith Thurman. Although there are pictures of him having a shoulder support or something. He is a rank boxer, Fundora has a fight with someone as the undercard.

And it's also for the interim belt and so this fight will be for the WBO and WBC belt now. Fundora is very tall but I think that is the only advantage he has. Tszyu is the well rounded of the two and he has the tools to score a knockout victory here.

Thurman has very good potential after Pacquiao's fight. But he paused his boxing career afterwards, so it was not Pac's fault why his boxing career got a hold up. Anyway, every boxer have their own journey in this sports. It is up to them how they will take advantage of the opportunity and move forward after the loss. Pacquiao got also his share of loss in his career but he never gave up and made an impact in this sports.

Well you can ask Ricky Hatton for that, or Morales or Marco Antonio Barrera because after fighting Manny they were never be the same again. After's Thurman's lost to Manny he took a long break, then trying to make a comeback against Barrios, win but doesn't look good.

And after that he didn't fight again and he was supposed to fight, but got injured?

Yes, I agree that Pacquiao himself has losses, but in the case of Thurman and others that Manny beat, it's more on their psychology that they were beaten by this small man from Asia and they can't get over with that.

Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4m3dj3NRRA

He admitted that he got depressed after getting his first L.
280  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 28, 2024, 10:34:26 PM
So far bitcoin performance this month is high, the market is still bullish we expect bitcoin to rally to $72k before next month. Bitcoin is gaining more strength, investors are buying and accumulating more Bitcoin and I would like to see Bitcoin  break the $73k ATH before halving.

After halving then we expect price to dump before massive bullishness.
This is the time we just get prepared for what is to come, rather securing profits which is way too early now.

So far for this month alone, we are up 15%++, but the strongest month so far is February, with a huge increased of 43%++. And yet we haven't seen the halving, the catalyst for a bull run, but the price is going strong even setting a new all time high already.

Yes, that is to be expected, halving is the trigger for a massive bull run, and next month we will finally see it and then that's where the fun begins. But in any case, at the end of March above $70,000 is already great price and we have to thank the bulls for that for pushing the price.
