*Points at Greece and laughs. Still wish Georgia won in reg. They dominated Greece despite playing with 10 men the entire second half! I'm loving this crazy little team.
You just have to love the underdog teams.
Georgia is going to Euro for the first time in their history and they did it against Greece who was the winner of Euro 2004!
Maybe they can try to repeat what Greece did, just 20 years later in Germany Grin

You know it! I might have mentioned before but Central Asia and Caucascus teams are still seen as severe underdogs -- but there is enough in their physicality plus a couple of standout talents to ensure you are on a good value bet any time odds approach 10/1. This may be the last season or so before books adjust up.

Georgian Maradona is the balls!

LFC_Bitcoin shared a pretty scene, but the first video I saw outside Tblisi stadium was ... people very much in love and celebrating haha.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2023/2024 on: March 28, 2024, 04:55:37 PM
And we're back! I completely forgot that Championship likes to raise the curtains on Good Friday (they do, don't they? or is my memory failing?).

I've got some pretty satoshi sitting on Saints BTTS (only 2/1 though, but that's okay for me) win so how well/badly I do there will determine my Sunday, as we've got some blockbuster meets (well, okay, one) in the league above.

Yeah, I agree with Trofo, it's so competitive you might as well as consider yourself relegated if you forget 2 submissions. Once almost implies a midtable finish at best. Just be safe, rather than sorry. Submit early. It's really the only way to not play with fire.

Im in the same situation against buwaytress, we only have two answer diferent, and is a yes or no to win in the H2H question hahaha. Zverev diferent and in the football one in the Napoli game.

I forgot last question is also diferent.

You're winning the tennis question it would seem. Was hoping Kachanov would provide a sterner test, and I can't realistically expect a better defence from Marozsan, whoever he is.

If Napoli don't win, I'll say goodbye even before City-Arsenal (our final looks-like-a tiebreaker).

Right you are, right you are. I guess I remember things differently (or inaccurately) -- if not for that he's a former Red, I may never have followed his developments post Liverpool. And if not for his Liverpool connection, I don't think he'd even be in the run for the gaffer's job now. Still think we're on his list, but not top of his list. I'm completely okay with that, I trust in the Edwards process, rather than in the volatile hyping of managers (not that I don't admire Xabi).

266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has BTC really become more attractive than gold? on: March 27, 2024, 01:55:28 PM
Not going to compare to two assets -- done to death and decontextualised to the point of frustration.

But from the pure "ooh shiny, I want" aspect?

From my anecdotal evidence, Bitcoin has not improved in the mainstream investor mind in terms of being attractive -- most notably because they feel it's far too easy to get Bitcoin (I know, it's ironic, that ease of access should do this). To get gold, to verify it's authentic (whichever form, physical, digital), and to get in line to buy? That's actually a lot harder to do for gold, and is getting increasingly harder. I recall just a few years back that banks were buying up all the gold they could -- even forcibly from existing customers.

Of course, more banks, now that gold is drying up, are turning to Bitcoin -- when that happens, and yes, I know ETFs did a lot for gold in that regard but it's really when banks are rivals with customers for Bitcoin, that's when that'll glitter.

Quite a high number of casualties this round, I must say, like last round. Feels like we've been bleeding late submissions recently in top divisions. Those tennis late games aren't worth waiting for, to be honest, gentlemen, just submit early, don't think too much about "wasting" VARs. 12 rounds left and most of us still have 2. I think it's plenty.

darxiaomi, our minds are alike this round, we both didn't like Ruud, and he's already out. Still, we made the some choice for >90% of our picks. Swiatek would have brought me a precious point, but you used up all your luck.

Now our round rests firmly on Napoli, Zverev, and City/Arsenal. This means there cannot be a draw between us, as it's not possible to tie on our H2Hs. The way it should always be.

Code:
[b]This question is void in case she drops out of the tournament before the deadline[/b], all forfeits later on are counted as valid and last option is correct answer.
i read this as retiring from tournament as it says drops out and also metions forfeits after

Dropping out covers elimination. All forfeits later refers to post submission deadline. We all understood what this meant, but you'd need to see past tennis questions in previous seasons for context.

Friendlies looking like treasure all over with crazy odds but I'm not falling for that..!

I also expect to win our match for BSFL League between us.

I think my posibilidades are good Tongue

Well, you know I like high posibilidades so if I saw the odds between me and you on BSFL, you know my money's on myself. Pretty crazy that we're already in Season 4 there and yet it feels like just yesterday when we were testing out the system in Season 1.

You can count your lucky stars Swiatek question is void Wink

IPL is also now around and many more actions are coming which will give good energy to all sports punters with sportsbet is also giving good energy boosters as free bets which are working as extra energy booster good luck to all for their bets.

I heard on the grapevine that the famous Balkan underworld watching the forum has even dipped their corrupt toes into IPL, and one of them has successfully bribed teams there on every single outcome he predicted.

Looks less and less like Alonso will be coming to Liverpool. I could be surprised, maybe he is as classy as he is rumoured to be and simply just doesn't want to generate any drama until his hands are firmly clasped around trophies with Leverkusen, but I have a strong feeling he's not ready yet for his first love, and wants to return here, to La Liga, where Sociedad broke his heart and Real's icy cold grip wants a share of his mind.

Yep, I'm ready for La Liga. And everything else, really. Can't stand internationals.
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New EU AML ban bitcoin anonymous payment on: March 26, 2024, 03:50:13 PM
Good luck if it's true (it is true, just precisely how they want to regulate that will be anyone's guess).

I can still pay anonymously for my shopping and food delivery, if they want to start enforcing people to use custodial, KYC'd wallets, they need only look at the debacle of El Salvador.

Plus, as stompix says above, each country will apply a national comprehension of what this means. AMLD4 and AMLD5 already did see the death of Bitcoin ATMs where I live, I doubt they will want to kill off further payment innovations (Bitcoin 3rd party processors and even lightning merchants popular in niche cities).

Yup, WTA is unfortunately void. Sometimes this happens - the odds were quite low so we took a calculated risk with this one.

So far so good for my far-too-early submission. Tennis is really the only one I need to look out for. It's a bit crazy paying attention to games before the round starts... but you know, I want to brave as I head towards ruin. Ignored my instincts for upsets this round, I backed a hell lot of favourites, so I laboured long and hard on the last q. City has to win, don't they? But Arsenal are hungrier, aren't they? Aren't they?!?!

jayce sitting pretty, something has to be done about him.

If something else is f%&ked up, blame my screaming children. I do.

The eternal crooks always find something to blame. Good mafioso.

Good luck to leea-1334 for this round. It is a critical game for you early in the season. May the luckiest win! Wink

Poor guy, he won one round, and it was against casper, tough luck. Have you ever been in relegation zone before, leea? Do you like it? =p

After sometime i finally put a good one with the freebet.

Nice one! I also learn a new word... posibilidades. I will use that mentally for a bit.

Going to crack my head to get some good ones, been a while myself but I've been wasting my USDT freebets from promos on half-hearted accas that I really have no business looking at.

Friendlies looking like treasure all over with crazy odds but I'm not falling for that..!

275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: March 25, 2024, 04:45:08 PM
How the hell people get that many correct scores in week like this? I have 4 points and consider all the results to be total surprises and then I see what some of you scored  Huh Definitely not my best league this season  Grin Should just stop trying to be logical about it and pick by throwing coins or something

Old comment from last week I know but I think I mentioned this a few months ago, Serie A stopped becoming BTTS nest, so I only put about 30% of my picks as BTTS, everything else goes for zero score on the losing side.

But no, it's definitely luck. I'm probably like you more or less, logical with picks but in Serie A I'm less aware of team abilities than Prem League and doing better -- I did look back at some previous scores and apparently, bookies didn't favour the likes of Roma, Fiorentina, Lazio, many times, but they came out with wins or draws. So in my lagging understanding I still picked them to win, and got the "upset".

So, revisiting this theme, Juve-Lazio sees the books go for Juve. In our old understanding, 2-1 Juventus is good, but I think we need to consider 1-0 or 0-1 and Lazio to not be as shit as the odds suggest.

P.S. This is how I mess with minds. It usually backfires Wink

That's going to be some sick payout for first place, though even 10th place is going to net some small fortune for the lucky one. 8 rounds left, I'm not sure what to do with strategy so I'll just stick it in like I usually do.

Not related (or is it?) but the recent Liverpool Legends match was some kind of spectacle, apparently. Didn't watch but read plenty of reports. Does make one feel truly old to see and recall every one of the players who showed up for Sven... I completely forget El Zhar ever played for us!

I don't regret that I wake up so early to watch race. Verstappen issue looked strange because such things rarely happens in early phase of race. I'm wondering did problems with breaks already started when Sainz overtake him because it looked so easy. And after that there was no questions about today's winner.

I regret to wake up so early to watch the race,at the beginning I thought now that Verstappen is out of the race we are going to see some real racing and competition but Ferrari with Sainz looked like another Redbull dominating the race,so for me nothing changed and we should not blame Verstappen for winning so many races,it is not his fault, like it was not Sainz fault that executed a perfect race in Melbourne today early in the morning.

Man, this is sports. You can have one guy completely satisfied with the way things turned out, a surprise retirement by the supreme F1 driver hoping to equal a record 10th consecutive. Then you have another guy who completely feels dissatisfied that different winners didn't change the aesthetics of F1.

I'm with swogerino here, I think. It does matter that the winners should be different, but it matters more that winners are pushed to their limits by rivals. To see a different winner, but only because the usual suspect is not racing, and to see the same domination, is a poor, poor spectacle.

City winning Prem League over and over got less boring because they got pushed to the very limits by Liverpool and now Arsenal. Doesn't matter they won 6 of the last 7, it's still brilliant to watch because it's so close.
278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: March 24, 2024, 05:44:24 PM
Yeah, Trofo and Harko, England just let everyone down so badly. The international version of Sevilla/Valencia I guess, if you want to draw comparisons.

Harko I put BTTS because I believed England would score but I often go for BTTS in BSFL for the very reason you gave: knowing my opponent is likely to choose BTTS. Very similar thinking we have in BSFL I've been discovering..!

Division 3 historic results are skewed quite a bit as there were tons of 3-0 because so many players got disqualified. If anyone wants to have a look and calculate the average, I think the spreads resulting in 3-0 from disqualification should be excluded. But anyway, 3-0 is more than fair I guess although toning it down means less of a penalty to the one not submitting. There are two sides to the coin. But that has been taken care of due to the reward penalties at the end of the season. Hence, a 2-0 might make sense in the future.

I think it's always going to be difficult to put down something that's fair for both the person failing to submit, their opponent, and then the rest of the league. I can certainly feel the "pain" of those who never "enjoyed" free points.

'm willing to accept whatever happens, it doesn't really concern me and I'd never feel that any decision is unfair -- everything balances out for everyone in the long run.

I do like a concept that only penalises the offender, and not benefits the other. I agree with cryptofrka, a walkover happens extremely rarely in actual football so that 3-0 reflects that rarity. But BSFL need a way to figure out how to settle the game so I'm okay with this 3-0 rule. Not adverse to a change if someone figures something better.

Slaman29's suggestion isn't too bad actually. It only penalises the offender, and still ensures both teams play a normal game in the following round, no "bonus", just a point penalty + the fee rule penalty. Might I suggest that in the following round, the offender also has to give a handicap? Say, if it ends in a draw, the offender loses. Call it the away goal rule. Complicated though, unless we hope it happens less and less.
