Funny that in my VAR I backed out of picking Becel and went for the more consistent N Robertson -- who promptly crashed out. Becel is now the highest ranked and likeliest to win that quarter. Tsk!

So VAR is a thing here...thought picking the wrong player in spite of a technical knockout was part of the game  Roll Eyes

Ya not a fan of it either.  Grin

Get with the programme, guys =p It's been a thing for a few rounds now and I think it's pretty fair, having used it myself now. Ideally, everyone wants to wait until the last possible moment to get every advantage possible and normally, it is 7pm for me, easy. But for about 5 weeks I was in Asia where the deadline is 1am -- I think it's nice some people can submit at 6pm with some ease of mind but still be able to make changes with last-minute news.

News like that doesn't get stale, Steve, really pleased to see Sportsbet get in on with one of the most exciting teams to appear recently (and somehow not given in to spending sprees yet). Liverpool aren't the favs next game but waiting for the specials..!

NB: And oh boy @Buwaytress you need to give me a response on BSFL thread, we are at loggerheads since you kicked me out of the cup  Angry

I don't mind you giving me more money, so sure Wink

I would bet for LFC if it was Anfield. New Castle is on a great ride. Even Man City didn't have a comfortable win at Etihad in the last match against New Castle. It's their home match so no chance for LFC I think. Well, 2.18 for New Castle is a good deal.

Toons were even great at Citeh last season. It was really only Liverpool among the top 4 hopefuls they lost to all season! 3/1+ for Liverpool any day for me.

Good news! The red card on Allister has overturned. I have not checked the odds but I am sure now we will not see huge difference in odds. Yesterday I was working with the teams I wanted to have in another multi bet and could not just ignore Castle vs Liverpool match. It's hard to pick Castle for me and knowing our recent form it was risky [for the slip] to go with Liverpool to win. So I went with Draw or Liverpool to win. But now I feel my slip is in less risk.

Yeah, I saw that! Good on Bournemouth gaffer who also said post-match he didn't think it was a red. Too bad FPL doesn't retroactively adjust points. He's my vice captain... Tsk tsk, you wasted great value odds =p

How does one stake if their transaction has not yet been confirmed and account credited?

Your account is immediately credited as soon as the tx is detected on the network. 0 confirmation means instant betting at Sportsbet. Special, eh?

BVB look really shaky, but I put Mainz as the first choice to get their manager sacked in the bonus question-- the result helps my case!
Not sure of Mainz here because Bundesliga has a few teams where changing a coach isn't done very often.
Like Freiburg (Christian Streich, since 2012), Union (Urs Fischer, since 2018), and Heidenheim (Frank Schmidt, who achieved 1st league, coach at Heidenheim since 2007).
I would consider Mainz to be close to that group as well and their current coach, Bo Svensson, has been a Mainz player for a very long time.
For him to get sacked, Mainz really needs to have a bad season.
But we never know, of course.  Smiley

You have a good point there and I perhaps am all too unfamiliar with how German clubs view patience but after Bayern's unexpected sacking, I'm leaning towards other clubs also losing patience with stalwarts, particularly Mainz, who were probably really happy with Bo after running them close to Europe... but I remember, they lost almost every important game near the end right after beating Bayern and then spoiled the party for BVB.

I am counting on another bad streak... 5L 1D in last 6 games, I suspect 4 more bad games and Bo is in real danger, especially as they should be expected to win a couple of the next few.

It's guesswork, of course Wink

casper, yeah. I needed to submit picks early as I wasn't sure if I'd be free so I wasted a VAR. Very kind of you to give everyone a heads up, wish you wouldn't do that =p I actually was thinking to switch to current World Snooker Champion Becel also but he's having a really shit time even qualifying!

Since we're all sharing, and deadline's gone. USA has 5 golds now with 9 events still at qualifying and several more yet to start prelims. Looking good for the overs!

Hey man!, I guess we have a score to settle, don't we ? 2 mBTC as usual, quote me on this and it's game on!

I need to get a revenge, and it will be more interesting to do so while you're still invisible in the league

Bah haha, let's do it. I feel like everyone wants revenge against me but I might as well ride my good fortune. You'll remind me, of course, I am all over the place these days...

Great, great start to your first acca, Bitcoin-Girl! To think of all the freebets I already wasted heh heh and the latest batch all headed for Liverpool's way.

I was absolutely tempted to hit Sevilla last night... Alaves blew them and me away (memories of the exact scoreline but in reverse from 2001 Europa vs Liverpool).

They're losing their next one, too, aren't they?
1226  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of ?? ?? ?? on: August 22, 2023, 02:35:58 PM
Already saw your winning bet elsewhere Bitcoin.Girl, I have been blowing mine on duds but the next round of games offer some great value.

Newcastle welcomes Liverpool next as the bookie favourite (when has that ever happened in this century, eh?) so that suits me just fine. Our midfield is creaky and we'll be without Mac Allister but it just means we start with new-look, young combo. Both will be going for the throats but I expect us to over-compensate and outscore them.

If that's the next Super Boost, I'll also go in live but 32/10 is already pretty juicy.

Osimhen making sure whatever happens (new contract, release clause etc.) he's keeping his price tag up! Honestly thought he would end up at United but glad he's sticking around.

Milan got me off to a good start as I've got some tickets awaiting settlement Wink

@Buway, just ignore the last line on my note, alright  Grin

Missed replying this on UCL haha. No, not being lazy, I'm sure something's already cooking and who knows? Someone else might step up to manage the UCL pool -- but it would be remiss if not!

Put my picks in already. A little unsure if I have internet later so better be safe than sorry. Snooker my most unsure picks but I've a feeling it won't matter.

Maybe he's messing with your brains. In the last 2 Championships they won 13 and 14 gold medals, but the 3 competitions prior to these ones they won 10, 6 and 8.
In the last 20 years they won more than 13 Gold medals only on 3 occasions.

Maybe now you're messing with his brains. USA has been increasing their dominance in athletics -- and with inclusion of more events every edition, the medal tally also increases. Mixed teams events is going to be big over the next few years.

Or am I also trying to convince everyone of a "sure" answer? Let's do a brain-mess-fest!
1229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 23/24 - discussion thread on: August 21, 2023, 07:19:28 PM
Well yesterday we have the tie of Ajax, and today another tie of Feyenoord, refered to Ajax i see the yesterday team , and man, this its not looking good for them, i dont see a better team than last year, about Feyenoord i already said this year they are gonna not fight for anything, they always after became the champion make a bad season, i dont know why.

I only have the Dirk Kuyt-led team to compare from my short history of Eredivisie and I think it's far too early to call shots but I'm also getting the nagging feeling that Feyenoord will not only come short in the league but crash out of early UCL -- and that's not even considering Ajax.

Waalwijk, that's who we all gotta watch out for now eh? But no, seriously PSV, plus a god run for them in Europa? About time the Amsterdammer-Rotterdammer nonsense gets pushed aside heh heh.
1230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: August 21, 2023, 04:15:34 PM
I wouldn't say that it's a 50/50 question for someone that follows basketball closely. People like this know if there is some key player that is missing, if there is some disturbance in the locker room... All that stuff that us who don't follow closely know nothing about. And that's when it stops being a 50/50 question.

Yeah, and I forgot about athletics. I have no idea how many USA competitors there are in Budapest, let alone how many of them could win a gold medal.

Worst thing (well, okay, not really) for these types of sports is you'll get vadtly unconfirmed rumours even if you do follow. I follow local football and you only get the juice in local language and from what's shared but it can easily be a disadvantage as most of the chatter turns out to be false come matchday. That's football, I've no idea how it shapes up for other sports but I remember following golf and it helped absolutely zero as players just either turned up on didn't on the green. Suspect the same for snooker...

USA? That's also a black hole for me, trying to find out even specific draws or schedules and it's a mess...
1231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 21, 2023, 03:38:56 PM
Yeah casper, tough luck for Everton really. Great escapes are only nice if they're the springboard for success a la Leicester City but you've got to question why they'd fight so hard to keep  barely staying up.

Chelsea, Caicedo, yeah. Schadenfreude at its finest. I'll enjoy every loss they make. Not much skin for me in tonight's game but it's something to watch on Monday!
1232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Bundesliga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: August 21, 2023, 01:16:56 PM
Thanks cygan! Got the freebets, and promptly placed Wink

Wooow, great round from Sojourner (buwaytress) and lots of points collected. It's quite an impressive result, especially considering that in our local board prediction topic, the best result from this round was 18 points.

Pure beginner's luck. I don't think I've ever got the correct outcome in every single game on a match day either, the draw and Freiburg win seemed logical but you never know. Let's hope I haven't run myself into the ground on this performance!

BVB look really shaky, but I put Mainz as the first choice to get their manager sacked in the bonus question-- the result helps my case!

He was just very lucky. I'm sure that he will be at the last position at the end of the season which is the place he should be at. Maybe there could be a possibility of his finishing the pool ahead of BTCGOSU.

This is how I know you guys are my true friends.

Well done to LFC_Bitcoin on such a strong two cup rounds. Long may your journey continue, and your bounty spilleth over into the league!

Took a sneak peek at R9 questions. Liverpool feature again, and I seem never to do well when that happens (seriously), but I'll take it head on. And oh, we got snooker, FIBA and IAAA. Good luck to us all Wink

Week to forget for Pickford, sure, but even worse week for big Mac owners in Liverpool, like myself. All that transfer value and big fat negative points.

Costly starting two weeks for me too really, as even Darwin also wasn't handed a start and I was really courting on him smashing Bournemouth.

Not even March getting two goals gave me enough consolation...
1235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can everyone in the world have bitcoin. on: August 20, 2023, 02:19:06 PM
Maybe there's more to understand why we tell people about Bitcoin. The awareness isn't just about Bitcoin's presumed future price (and therefore as an investment). It's about Bitcoin as alternative money.

You don't need to own Bitcoin as a type of wealth vehicle to benefit.

Iranians can use Bitcoin to transact with the outside world (they don't have access to banking outside Iran). Argentinians can use Bitcoin to preserve their income (keeping it in local currency is suicide with today's hyperinflation. My own personal use case? I accept Bitcoin as payment for work -- ensuring I can receive payment when PayPal and other methods are restrictive, expensive, slow.

You can't blame the 19-25 age group players for picking Chelsea over Liverpool; they weren't alive when Liverpool dominated the league in the 1970s and 1980s, but they all watched Chelsea dominate the league in the 2000s. Having said that, I'm confident that our L.F.C midfield will break every other midfield this season. Our title charge will begin tomorrow.

Bournemouth are shit!

I wasn't alive or aware of Liverpool either and saw Chelsea emerge in my youth with petrol money... Still thought it was impressive to see not rich clubs get better football playing but of course, I get the point. Chelsea means immediate chances of titles... Liverpool even after the last period of success still play and sct like perennial seeded underdogs.

Our red card means new boy starts so that is silver lining...

Brighton,  bright spot. They are a credit to the league. I took Mitoma off my fantasy but not because I don't like the guy... He and others in Europe proving Japan was no fluke in the last WC.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Bundesliga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: August 19, 2023, 07:15:50 PM
Well, I said I was going to win this pool but I wasn't expecting the early lead, courtesy a well-timed 4 points from Freiburg's victory. I thought more people would back them, glad few did =)

Still getting used to the scoring system here but looks a lot higher than what am normally used to.
1238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2023/2024 on: August 19, 2023, 03:20:17 PM
Nice win for Southampton in the last minute of the game,I was watching the live odds and the ones of Southampton were 4.25 before they scored that goal that gave them the win,the odd of draw was 1.22 and I think most people would have been reluctant to bet on Southampton to win at that time but great performance from Southampton.

Yeah, I was tempted too actually, creeping towards 5/1 even and you felt they had plenty of time. Thought they might be hanging their heads a little after losing JWP but they've dug in that little bit more to aid their return home. Now the trick will be to go again as I think Adams will be next to exit.

Foxes dominating but painfully level... they'll want the win to stay on the summit.
1239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 19, 2023, 02:04:46 PM
Early scare for the Reds. Goals must flow today, I'm expecting Newcastle to show their credentials, Spurs to find a way past United with a new future without Kane -- oh, and there's the business of Liverpool. Can't believe they're still a stronger favourite than Chelsea after their preferred midfield acquisitions chose Igebotz blue...

I have added to the spreadsheet. Good luck. I'm feeling like my job is going to be much more difficult this season compared to the previous season. Especially the performance you have shown in BSFL scares me. Smiley

Luck couldn't have had a stronger role in any of that. 5 more rounds there and 37 more in this pool -- destiny is far from written, good luck!

Poisoned chalice for me, there are few people I won't enjoy going up against and I don't mind saying LFC_Bitcoin's one of them. Good news is a prize is already guaranteed at this stage so it won't be so painful to crash out now.

It'll all be decided today, good luck LFC_Bitcoin!

Alcaraz-Djoker final shaping up nicely -- it was the draw I predicted but I felt Alcaraz has been shaky and a final rematch, if it happens, this time will go to the Serbian.
