2601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 19, 2021, 09:12:20 AM
Damn Phoenix, just yesterday the are a championship contender but today they are back as a farm team.

I wish these are just rumors. So if this is true, the battle in the NBA will only be between the SMC and Pangilinan, and I think this league will be boring as they can easily manipulate games. I guess we have to shift to MPBL now? lol

PBA is still the highest or the most popular league in the Philippines although MPBL are getting the attention of the viewers also. The PBA has established a name, one team might surrender but PBA will continue to exist and it will open doors for new teams, if SMC or Pangilinan will given up their teams, then probably that would end this league, but I don't see a chance of it happening.
2602  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to avoid as a beginner in trading Bitcoin? on: February 18, 2021, 03:03:33 PM

This is true as a newbie never listen by hearsays and avoid such fuds when planning to invest. The most mistakes also by many is being rule by emotions. As a beginner when trading Bitcoin to always dyor before investing and journaling is a big help in trading. Plan when to buy and when to sell and always take on profit when happy.
This is not only happening to a newbie, it can also be happening to some of us. Emotion drives us no good but this helps us to commit mistakes and wrong decisions.
That is why, if we should be seriously doing trading and aiming for a positive result, we should have to work on it and eliminate this emotion. Mistakes can't be avoided, as we know that but it could be minimal.
2603  Economy / Speculation / Re: Manipulation of price will decrease soon? on: February 18, 2021, 02:29:57 PM
Growing in market cap doesn't necessarily means manipulation of price will decrease soon, like for example the recent elon musk who people consider as the saviour of modern world making a fuss regarding crypto, as much as I'm happy enough that elon really bring the price of bitcoin up, I must say that these kind of things look kinda like manipulation.
If by some tweet from a rich influental people alone could decide whether the market gonna be bearish or bullrun the crypto market as a whole isn't really manipulation free doesn't matter how much the market cap has been growing since the manipulator doesn't target the market cap and using their resource to manipulate it but the manipulator affect psychology of the people to make them behave as they like.
Yeah, It can be more often to happens especially when many rich people come and join the crypto community. It sounds like we don't see a decrease in manipulation but instead, we saw it more. We can see how Elon manipulates the market and also the minds of others, that seem to happy seeing the price goes high. But above all, there is one thing I have to worried about, and what if these people will control the market and let everything handful to them. That could be the worse thing ever.

Another rumor is, after that Abueva trade, Matthew Wright now asking for a trade.

What could potentially happen to the Phoenix then? They'll be a team like the Blackwater and  DYIP where are always at the bottom. If that rumor is true then I guess Abueva was blessed he was traded to a team with the capability to pay a good salary for their players.

Looks like the rumor is true, another Phoenix player has not yet signed by the team, and we know this player can contribute to the team.

Brian Heruela plays waiting game as he has yet to be signed by Phoenix

Oops... another great player that was not sign yet, I think there are teams that will be interested with him, with his kind of hustle in floor, I guess he will help a team to improve more on their defense, he can be useful with the Ginebra San Miguel, that if they still have some space to sign him.

I hope the team is not in serious financial trouble, we don't want to see this kind of talents getting wasted.
2605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont stay in crypto too long on: February 18, 2021, 11:36:02 AM
maybe in a few month the right time to sell.... we heard bitcoin in the news more and more days after days...
That's because the market is bullish, media will make it more bullish because people will FOMO, but we know that bull run is not forever, and even bull run based on the history of the market, there's always a big correction coming and months of bearish market.

2607  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie traders - Learn from my mistakes on: February 17, 2021, 02:23:31 PM
Honestly, it is a long story to read OP. It is nice sharing about your past and worse experience in trading but to tell you that, it is a common thing to happen while you are still learning in trading. We often mistake but from that, we able to stand and getting better, and that is what happens to you now, right?

Trading is an art where you are the teacher as well as the student. One can teach you how trading is done or how to read signals, but eventually, the final outcome will be up to you.
experience is the best teacher, that is what we know. And that supposed we need to do in order to get what we want but some people never think about it, instead, they step back when suffering losses.
2608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If a project gets too complicated on: February 17, 2021, 01:28:40 PM
If a crypto project gets too complicated to understand can it affect the projects adoption rate or people don't care this days where they put their money? I remember when Hex was launched many think it's a scam and so many complains about not understanding a thing about what the project is all about, what do you say ?
An investor should understand what they are investing if they are investing in the long term and wants to maximize their profit, they should understand what the project is bringing up to the community, there are a lot of pump and dump projects, and this is very risky you will end up with nothing if you are investing looking for profit alone.
But unfortunately, not all investors are thinking that way. What is in their mind is to make money in a shorter time without bothering to see and do the simple research on a certain project that they are about to invest in. It finds so naive to think that way but it should be a good term and we also have to think about our assurance, not just because we saw a huge market offer and jump into it.
2609  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull run: will it end in May? on: February 17, 2021, 08:49:02 AM
Honestly NOBODY knows this. I know we like to talk about "it will happen" or "it won't happen" and anything in between but we have to realize that nobody knows this at all. It is obvious that we want to know this and we want to have answer for this but the reality is that we have no clue if this will happen or not. Which is why we are just trying to guess.

One thing I am certain is that even if the bear run starts in may, I won't leave because I am way in profit and there is nothing wrong with waiting for me, if it starts to drop in May, I will not get out and wait for the next increase because each increase is bigger than the other. Let's assume price falls from 50k to 20k, that means eventually "one day" it will be above 50k again, and I will be profiting from that, so I will wait for it to go up.

Since this is a long bull run, well, not literally long but longer than the previous run, so I guess if the same trend is going to happen, we will also see a long bear market, and that time, I'm not sure it's still attractive to trade because most movement are downtrend and you need to be really good in order to make profit on short term movement.
2610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 17, 2021, 08:33:17 AM
I may be the first one to bring this news here  Wink.

I don't see this coming as i think that Calvin Abueva have already found a home in Phoenix but i'm wrong.

Seems to me that Magnolia is dead serious on capturing a All-Filipino title very soon.

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/calvin-abueva-traded-by-phoenix-to-magnolia-for-banchero-draft-picks-a793-20210217?ref=home_featured_big

I don't get why Phoenix traded him, they just threw away a gem, I don't know maybe he still has the attitude?

I guess this is the time that I believe Magnolia will become a championship contender, they are now a better as a defensive team, honestly, I think they are now better than the SMB teams.
2611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk said he bought Dogecoin on: February 16, 2021, 11:06:33 PM
Some people believe that the richest DOGECOIN wallet belongs to Elon Musk, for the past 2 years he has been constantly purchasing there Doge, with and 10x rate last 2 months. It has accumulated 36,812,358,629.53 DOGES until now.
He is indeed a DOGE supporter and HODLER, so I believe DOGE is a safe investment.
It is a speculation that the richest wallet in Doge is held by Elon Musk, i wont be surprised if he really held that kind of coins in his wallets but the problem i see is that he was known to manipulate the market from time to time and if he invested heavily and was profiting from these rallies without any regulation he will get away from any legal implications.

I think not only Elon Musk has a huge number of Doge in the wallet. We're not sure about how much he owes now, honestly.

Actually, Elon did the best thing in crypto. I don't think he is intentionally making this hype but it is just the people who are acting differently and make their own speculations. If only that he never tweeted that event, I'm not sure if we have this spike, probably not. But, we have this thing started already. Manipulation? never mind it, it is already been a part of crypto, even before Elon Musk.
2612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get another golden oppurtunity to buy? on: February 15, 2021, 11:19:51 PM
it depends on whether you are going long term or short or medium. if long term you can wait for more dump to buy and buy at tranches till you are satisfied and wait for more profit. but if short term, you can use Technical analysis and fundamental analysis to take trades and take little little profits.

Diffrent overview have different strategy to use, if you are aiming for long term, you can always buy when the market experience
some correction to take your opportunities.

People are patiently waiting for that moment but the question is when that huge correction to take place? because for me, if I have enough money to risk, I'll start buying now. Not really a good price to start as we are still in the bullish season but many people say it going to $100k soon which is a possibility to double your money.
The risk is too high but we are doing this for many years, and the price moves high in every Bullrun thus, if we are a long-term holder, it gonna be fine.
2613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin before and now on: February 15, 2021, 09:57:03 AM
suddenly this year pandemic helps cryptocurrency get into the spotlight in the positive note, although there is still negativity being thrown, I think most institution study it and they realize the possibilities and important of blockchain overall.

In this economic crisis due to Covid, this pandemic has driven the world economic performance even lower but the opposite happened to the Bitcoin market because it got even stronger. Maybe the people believe that Bitcoin and the crypto could potentially offer much higher returns than the traditional investments which are currently really difficult to recover until the world becomes Covid free.
Let's say that many people are struggling with their financial status but can't imagine why they have the guts to invest in Bitcoin. It is overwhelming to see and the fact that they are seeing this potential in crypto to help them survive then can also be the reason why the rest will follow.
If that we saw only a few people are investing Bitcoin because they are not ready to take the risk but this coronavirus helping them to open their eyes and realize how good it was which is once they ignored before.
2614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Doggy take over — Elon Musk? on: February 12, 2021, 10:31:47 PM
I'm seeing another pump, coin burn would potentially make DOGE to reach $1 each, and that's a huge profit for him since he bought early and now promoting the coins that he is holding. He is being smart and people are trusting him on this, so I would not be surprise of another move by him just to raise DOGE to the top.

The pump started this year (2021), he will be remembered as the personality of the year in crypto.
2615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get another golden oppurtunity to buy? on: February 12, 2021, 03:32:56 PM
If you are going to hold for another 10 years, then take this opportunity now.
Because if you are thinking that Bitcoin will go back to the $5k, I don't know? That was not the case possible to happen.

Maybe I was too optimistic but can't feel it goes back to the bottom once again considering the demand is consistently at high.
2616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people follow Elon Musk? on: February 12, 2021, 03:15:05 PM
the same thing you follow BTS and the others. let's say ELON, one of the BTS participants, is always praised and adored, whatever is done will always be positive in all respects, especially it can provide benefits for all,
ELON may not be a successful person in cryptocurrency but he is a great entrepreneur and whatever he wants he can afford to buy it and become the spotlight of everyone, with him plunging into crypto the people who like him will participate, one advantage for the coins he carries like BTC and Doge
But now, he cares more about Bitcoin and that is why Tesla is buying now.

He probably cares about what will happen in the future which really imagining and he might foresee that people are in need of Bitcoin than fiat. And he might be needed as well.

This is not only about who's been hyping the market but this is because people are so excited to see about how Elon Musk makes good things inside the crypto community and too glad to see they are right, they are in profit now.
2617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull run: will it end in May? on: February 12, 2021, 02:08:52 PM

So we shall assume the price the BTC will have in May will be the maximum for this cycle?
Should we sell in May?
Much better to stop assuming because, in reality, none of these assumptions will happen. BTC will drop by..., pumps by...I actually not listening to this because in the first place, all of these changes are inevitable and it comes anytime.

If someone knows what will happen by tomorrow or by the following days, it is just like we are manipulating the market but because we are decentralized, it remains unpredictable no matter if you are Elon Musk that could easily manage to hypes or even to dump the market.  Will it end in May? IDK
2618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crash in Trading on: February 12, 2021, 01:41:25 PM
When we sell altcoins on trading, we may sell in many separate orders. When there are large amount of the altcoin, it is really necessary to do so.
Sometimes the price of an altcoin may plumb so rapidly and suddenly crash. Certainly we want to sell off the altcoin to gain profits before the crash.

But then I discover the difficulty that might be faced when selling large amount.

Are people really willing to buy from you when the price of the altcoin plumbs so rapidly that people may see the risk of crash and that you fail to sell off your coins and finally have a large amount of stagnant coins in your acc?
You can make multiple selling orders if you will notice if that selling in bulk never works. It is common sense, anyway and as a trader, we always find a way for a fast transaction because prices move every second and we need to catch the better price before it crash.
Quote
Did anybody lose because you could not sell off all the coins in time before the crash?
this is certainly be going to happen if we experience delays in placing the order.

There are some factors affecting why it is hard to sell in bulk because that coin has slow-moving, there is no huge trading volume. But if we are trading the leading currency, that be instantly filled.
2619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Miguel Berchelt vs Oscar Valdez WBC Super-Featherweight Title on: February 12, 2021, 12:39:30 PM
Pre-fight weight requirements (14 days):

Miguel Berchelt - 136 lbs
Oscar Valdez - 136.4 lbs

So the two fighters are within the limit now, and should be fine shredding the excess weight in the last 2 weeks leading to their fight.

https://www.boxingscene.com/14-day-weights-miguel-berchelt-136-pounds-oscar-valdez-1364--155312

Looking at Miguel Berchelt, looks like he is the more physically fit, after all he is the champion and definitely comfortable in this weight. Surprised though that Valdez is somewhat getting bigger and then he has to cut weight more weight in 14 days.

I understand that he is coming up in weight and that is good, but it seems he overdo it. Anyway, I'm no expert here, just sharing my own opinion.

I think Oscar Valdez is good to go, his abs is visible in the images, so when he cut down to 130 lbs, there will be no significant effect on his body, in my opinion. Of course, Miguel Berchelt will be the bigger guy because this is his natural weight.

But there are a lot of boxers going up in weight throughout boxing history that upset the champion so this is still 50:50 and it will definitely can go as one of the best fight for 2021.

Thinking of its chances as 50/50 makes me think of betting on the underdog.

Oscar Valdez betting odds now is 3.55 according to the site I'm using now, https://www.playbetr.com/sports.

2620  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin ready for world wide 1 currency? on: February 12, 2021, 11:11:47 AM
maybe it is. Bitcoin have to first take care about those jumpes it had over the last 5 years. For making world wide currency it should be stable enough so the people start believing into it.  So for the next 5 years i think there is going to be those jumpes so for that time there is no way for btc to become world wide currency.

As bitcoin's marketcap will continue to increase, its chances of getting to the number 1 spot will continue to rise.

We can see the ranking here.

https://companiesmarketcap.com/assets-by-market-cap/

Bitcoin is currently at the number 9 spot with 800 billion marketcap, but 2 Trillion can be surpass anytime since it's all of us are investing on bitcoin.
2nd in the spot is Apple, it's a huge company but it's possible to surpass them, I don't know about gold, probably we have a chance but a few percentage only.
