1621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Prophesy on: January 11, 2022, 08:56:07 PM
Acceptance of Bitcoins World wide is a good thing. It increases the number of stores who are going to accept bitcoins as a form of payment and the number of investors. The more people know about bitcoins the more people want to own them.

If I look at the development, at the moment it may be that the expectation of accepting bitcoin as a payment continues to grow even though it is still limited due to regulation. Maybe in the future there will be other policies, I hope it does not make dead the development of bitcoin and other crypto. In fact I also do not expect great acceptance of Bitcoin as a means of payment. Currently the existing regulations already exist in my country just as an asset has made me happy. But some new issues have also arisen, blocking unregistered outside exchange ip addresses. This issue made my browsing to exchanges limited.
As the growth of bitcoin's adoption has been more visible, its also expected that there will be more strict policies that the government will impose for all those bitcoin users and even secret investors. I guess this is just their way of stopping bitcoin to conquer the whole world, but i guess no matter what they do, bitcoin and other strong cryptos occurrence are now becoming inevitable. I just hope as the world gets more digitalized, the government itself will be more open minded that bitcoin is here to create positive changes and not to replace fiat totally.
1622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling isn't the end it's just the beginning to have more coins on: January 10, 2022, 08:39:06 PM
You should never be married to your coins (if you know what I mean) but you should be able to sell at the right time when you’re in good profits. Never sell too much but he willing to sell some when the time is right. Fir example selling in the $50,000’s or $60,000’s & buying back when we likely hit the low $30,000’s for bitcoin. You can increase your amount of coins if you play it right.
That sounds easy to say but hard to do. Because the problem is, most of us do not even know when will be the best entry and its best exit. We will only know once its already happens.

However, if we can play it right, of course things will definitely be in a good shape and we'll be on a right tract. Selling bitcoin when it reaches its new ATH will certainly give us the best profits, and then buy back again when we finally enter its bearish season since the prices will fall drastically that time.

Next up, Miami Heat (+8.5) Grin
Lots of players out for the Heat, and Butler might be out too, that's a tough choice.

Yeah, right? It was a really lucky play, infact I assumed that Butler could actually play today. But I'm glad that I made that bet, I know it's a tough one but an +8.5 spread could actually cover the spread if ever the opposite happens because I somehow know that the Heats will give it all especially Herro and won't let the Suns have a big lead.
Credits to Tyler Herro for having the command and led the team with ofcourse by the help of D. Robinson.

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) played it safe, announcing an indefinite suspension of the Governors’ Cup but pegging February as a crucial month for the season-ending tournament.
“At this time when the infection rate is rising, the risk of continuing with the games … outweigh our financial loss,” said PBA chair Ricky Vargas
Source: https://sports.inquirer.net/446650/safety-first-despite-facing-bigger-costs-pba-suspends-play-indefinitely

The PBA made it clear that there will be no games this month as the number of cases is rising daily due to omnicron. They certainly didn't had a choice but to put an indefinite halt to the games even if would cost them money rather than risking the safety of peope and players.
This news may sadden us as we already expected that we can watch these said games live this year, but an unfortunate event happened.
Let's hope that these infections caused by omnicron will cease by February.

1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 09, 2022, 07:45:39 AM
So that will be a great game and we will see if Lakers is really back.

I'm not convinced yet, let's see in their next game if they can beat the red hot Grizzlies. Both teams are in a winning streak, so this should be a good test for the Lakers, if they can win here, that's a big statement to those who still doubt them like me.  Smiley

Im also not sold on the Lakers winning streak, and good analysis on the teams they have beaten so far. They don't have a winning record and when they face Ja Morant's Grizzlies it will be a good test for them if they have the chemistry to win big against a good team. Only Monk has so far showing consistency, WB fouled out against the Hawks and didn't have his usual triple double. THT and Melo is also inconsistent. So a convincing win against the Memphis might sway some to believed that the Lakers are now for real.

This will be a big test for the Lakers if they're really improving as people isn't convinced about them yet including me Grin

Carmelo and Westbrook should really step up and play the game just the way they used to, especially from Westbrook's triple doubles are needed because Monk and LeBron ain't going to be enough to beat the Wild Grizzlies as they have Bane and Jackson who makes double digits per game especially Ja Morant now had some good rest from the sore in his left thigh. Big game tomorrow!
1626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 08, 2022, 07:13:55 PM
For the second time this year...gimme the Lakers -2.5 at home against the Hawks.  John Collins is out and he is key to the Hawks.  West coast trips are tough for east coast.  Gimme the Lakers here.

I second this and there are the reasons:

- LBJ consistent dominant performance. Keeping his average 28PPG this season whether they win or loss
- Malik Monk is stepping up - (they have 25 points combined with LBJ in the 4th quarter alone on their last game)
- Dwight Howard returned into his big man's shape grabbing 14 boards last game. No one in the Hawks might stop him tonight
- No Trae Young is always a big disadvantage on the Hawks offense

Right, there are even stats shown in the game that in the last 10 years or so, LBJ was really that consistent averaging 27-28PPG and that is really amazing because of his longevity in the game but remain very consistent.

In the game right now against the Hawks, Monk again is playing very good, as they are having a huge lead at 16 points and hopefully they can win above 10 points as that is my bet.

Even Trae Young play, not enough for the Hawks to win. Malik Monk, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Avery Bradley combined with 71 points. What a good support to Lebron James' 32 points. Westbrook is also 1 point shy away from his supposed triple-double.

Eveything is covered to the Lakers handicap and congrats to all bettors. I think even the Totals was covered if I'm not mistaken Over 230 @ 2.

Nice win for the Lakers, they are now winning games and I like to see that kind of consistency until Davis will come back from injury. They need to catch up as they are not in the top 3 anymore, they should be at least at the top 3 if they can't finish at the very top standing. I believe that the lakers can still learn how to play the right chemistry, and this win streak they are having now, I believe they are slowly figuring it out.

LeBron is now averaging 28.7 PPG this season and ain't nothing new about it as we know LeBron is a real talented one. They are now on their 4th win streak and ready to replace the Mavericks in the WCF in they can go through against the Grizzlies tomorrow. They really need to win and catch up to their loss and honestly, they're quite having a nice movement now with a real chemistry on the process, we can now also feel Westbrook's presence. Almost everything are set for Davis's return and make a huge comeback in the West.

Next up, Miami Heat (+8.5) Grin
1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 08, 2022, 02:30:53 PM
They are adding more good players since they know other teams are also doing great on hiring good players, they can’t afford to get behind especially if they still have the budget to look for other players. This is indeed a great player addition, let’s hope for PBA to continue their conference soon so we can see those great players again.

Like what teams are also doing on hiring good players recently? And SMB will never get behind. They are still far one of the best lineups and whole roster in the league, especially in All-Filipino. PBA will surely continue as different from the first postponement where it's just one game were done before the league was shut down, the current league is almost in halfway of the Governor's Cup.

We just don't know when since every day is crucial. Almost all people have coughs and colds and it's an automatic Covid positive lol. From 20,000+ cases before the OCTAngina Research said that it might be double next week.

Shortage of medicines for fever and cough is happening already, people are hoarding it because they believe they could be infected anymore as this virus is a fast-spreading one. I hope the number of deaths will not increase, we can be infected but let's hope we can easily recover and we don't need to go to the hospital as they cannot accommodate anymore.
Flu season is likely to happen on early days of January after the New Year's celebration, so it's actually common to experience flu-like symptoms like coughs and common colds, but what's uncommon is that we're now experiencing Omnicron's havoc so we can't actually know if we are already infected or we're just experiencing flu. Can't blame the people to have fear of it because it can be an automatic covid positive. So, shortage of medicines will happen as people are hoarding it out of fear or hoarding it to sell at a much expensive price.
As for the PBA Governor's Cup, let's just hope that the situation will cool down and a much more good-positive news will happen as lots of people are already affected by this and so that the league will resume its schedules and we watch it again live on scene.
1628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 08, 2022, 09:20:46 AM
Same as you, I have also noticed that. Like you guys are saying, they should remain healthy so that we can see close Eastern Conference Playoffs match-ups. Brooklyn Nets is currently the favorite to win the ECF but I don't like them having an easy road to the Finals. We need other teams to shine in this year's playoffs like Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat.

For Lakers fans out there, any status about Kendrick Nunn? Still not seeing in action this season. He's a sharpshooter at Miami Heat and big addition to the Lakers' offense right now.

I'm more than sure that the road to the final series won't be easy for the Brooklyn Nets because the competition in the Eastern Conference is quite strong this season. By the way, Kendrick Nunn hasn't played since preseason due to a right knee bone bruise, and there are still no exact dates for his return to the court.

It won't be easy, don't you forget that the Bucks are the defending champions and they are from the East. And just tonight, the Bucks beat the Nets, Giannis almost got a triple double with 31 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds.

And then we have the Chicago Bulls as well, who is now at the top of the East standing because of that lost by the Nets and with the strength of their win today, and they are now on a 8 game winning streak.

The current top 4 in the East are really a hard and a tough team namely Bulls, Nets, Bucks and the Heat. And if the Nets continues to lose along the way, for sure the Bucks will much more happy to take the 2nd place following the Bulls and I reckon it's their 5th loss in their homecourt.
While the Bucks is the defending champion so we can really expect that they won't give the title so easily and give other teams a hard time before they accept defeat. But there's also the Chicago Bulls in the East and currently seated in the #1 spot, right now they are on its 9th straight wins after they managed to defeat the Wizards with Vucevic almost got a triple double.
1629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is more important Hype or Utility? on: January 07, 2022, 08:25:50 PM
well, this is true. it all depends on what is going on. it would be better to choose a coin that has tangible benefits, and is currently being hyped up, such as BNB, SOL, and some of the popular altcoins that were hyped for their functionality. however, for those who are prepared to take big risks, and are looking for short-term gains, moving based on the hype will result in quicker returns. however, personally, I prefer to choose a coin or token with real functionality and benefits, rather than choosing a coin because of the hype.

Without hype, you can remain in the dark for a long time that such a coin has appeared on the market that has advantages over others. So it is the Hyip that allows you to learn about a new project and attracts investments for further work on the project.
For me, i would rather choose coins that are hyped and has also real utility case because that will mean profits not only for short term but definitely for long term too. Although most prefer to invest in those coins with high functionality, because there is higher assurance of huge profits, but if we  can also invest in those hyped coins, then that would mean additional profits as long as we will monitor the market closely so we will not end up losing when the hype is over.
1630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin mistake In 2020-2021 on: January 07, 2022, 07:43:45 PM
Well I decided to create this thread to share my Bitcoin mistake and the lesson has lean from those mistakes, around February I invested leftover funds of around $400 in buying Bitcoin and at that time Bitcoin was around
$10, 500 and I held for over a year and when the price of Bitcoin got to $40,000 I sold out my $400 investment which give me 3x+ profits but just within some days later the price of Bitcoin hit $67k and since then have not returned to the price I sold it which gives me a vegetable feeling any time I think of this investment. So I will like to give out very simple advice please keep holding your Bitcoin your investment is safer in Bitcoin and for great peace of mind always try to hold your Bitcoin as Bitcoin price is limitless am going to join the steel hands, Bitcoin holders, very soon.
One of the ways I save my Bitcoin is by buying during the deep never looking at it again for over some time. I have learned big from that small mistake of the past 2020-2021.
yhup you're right bitcoin is the most safe investment in the space and always can guarantee good return after all. So hodling such assets is worth it wherein just don't be greedy and make technical analysis very often to don't miss some of the opportunity because that's the most important thing as well especially news as it the common reason that can drive the market up and down. Be smart enough also when it comes holding to prevent regrets.
Well, as long as you're into bitcoin, you should not worry even if series of dumps will appear as you won't be selling at a low price. And always monitor the market of course so you can sell some of it and make profits if the price reaches a new all time high. For OP, i think what you did was a common mistake that has experienced by everyone. But what is important, you learned from it and you probably won't be doing the same mistake again.
1631  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Keep calm and buy the dip. on: January 07, 2022, 07:20:45 PM
Quick question.

Have you ever bought the dip, but then the price breaks through the support and continues dropping deeper for weeks or months?  Grin
Well, I have done it before.

The problem may not be panicking but may be determining the actual dip before a pump.
Not every dip is worth buying
That is the biggest risk of buying the dip and truth to be told there is no way to mitigate it completely, after all no one can predict what the market is going to do with complete accuracy so buying the dip still has some risks associated with it, still I think it is a good strategy, however it is one that requires a constant influx of capital to your fiat accounts so in the case the dip keeps getting larger you still have some capital available to buy the next dip.
If that is the case, then  don't buy all in. The market will eventually create more opportunities to buy once the market dumps more so you have to manage your funds so you can still avail in the next dip to come. Although this is the best time to buy, but if you know you are lacking funds right now, then just stay calm and patient, and never resort into panic selling because that will mean selling at a loss. Just hold your coins, for sure the market will not always be dumping.
1632  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Greed Comes First in Trading, the Result is Bankruptcy on: January 07, 2022, 06:15:34 PM
Many people who enter the world of crypto trading start with their greed because they see people who have had great success through crypto trading.
greed makes them rush to jump in and start trading without exploring it first. and they lose because of their greed.
Not only because of greedy that sent people into losing or bankruptcy, but it was also because they are too impatient and so aggressive which they can never think quite good but always in a hurry.

Quote
Are you one of those who have experienced it?

me: yes

early in my career I went bankrupt because of greed. But in the end it taught me a lesson to be able to control myself from greed and to prioritize common sense.

I can't figure out if I have in that situation. Maybe I was not greedy but somewhat impatient until I realize that it was wrong and I change it. Our experience is always a lesson to learn and that experiencing failure means a lot for our development and self-discovery. That is why I don't make any regrets when I lose but I use this to become knowledgeable and to be wise in making decisions.
We will never be good traders in the long run if we don't know how to deal with losses in the start. We are losing maybe because of greed that we find it hard to control, we tend to be more impatient and impulsive, and we are not using effective trading strategies. All of these could contribute to our losses, but if we can change them and focus on our own goal in trading, i think we will be able to minimize losses. Greed is the most common factor that make us lose, so as much as possible, we should learn to control our greed if we aim to succeed in trading.
1633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 07, 2022, 02:32:35 PM
And this time, he will not be lucky to win by a come from behind knockout.

He can't be lucky twice as Russell is a different animal. In order for him to win, he has to be consistent from the start to the end as the champion will certainly employ a strategy that will make him win by scoring only if he feels that Magsayo's power is too strong that he can't be too careless.

For sure, Russell has reviewed the last fight of Magsayo and he will respect the power of Magsayo but not his boxing skills as Russell is quicker and he can score while he will try to make Magsayo look like a non-pro boxer. ( I hope this would not happen).
1634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should we sell all crypto now? on: January 07, 2022, 08:45:51 AM
All crypto is dropping now because of FED. It seems that it’s the start of the bearish market. Should we sell all crypto now?
Selling your crypto assets because of the bearish market is in your perils. You are the only one that has custody over your assets if you find it right to sell them off, go ahead. As for me, am still hodling my coins until I see many boosts in it.
Don't forget that anything that has a beginning will surely have an end. So as the bearish market.
Better days are ahead towards crypto so relax and be patient

I know a lot have been making doubts in the market because of the current dump but if you are not strong enough, you will eventually fall into panic selling.  And that will simply mean losing your assets and all your expected profits. That is why as much as i can, i intend to hold my coins and sell them once the market recovers and reaches new all time high. But i also believe your assets, your responsibility. So definitely, if you see that you are into a huge loss right now and you just want to cut your losses, then just sell. But buy back again if you see good opportunities in the market.
1635  Economy / Speculation / Re: New year new speculation on: January 07, 2022, 07:16:26 AM
Everyone seems to be on the negative sentiments and cashing out and taking profits that they have accumulated for the last 2 years. And then probability will enter when the price goes down hard to ~$30'ish or even lower.
After observing the market movement this year the probability the market will show is at $30k, a big panic has occurred as it has fallen more than 10% since yesterday, I think the market will be low during the 2nd quarter and will likely recover in the 3rd quarter for a new move towards ATH $100k.

Good scenario, but we still are very far from getting into another all time high. If the price as you have predicted will turn into $30k, then it means that the market is on a bear market. And when we are in a bear market, it won't simply recover to +50% from it's lowest low, as it will be a continue year long downtrend. Unless the pattern is broken here and we have a new cycle, but I doubt it, until we really see it this year. So I will say that we have to face the fact that $100k is not doable anymore.
I also think once bitcoin price falls back $30k or below, that will be the start of bearish season. The market will be very negative by that time but that will be the most awaited pull back of all old and newly investors as its the best time to accumulate bitcoin at its lowest price, so prepare your funds when that time comes.

However, there is still no guarantee if we will witness a bear or bullish season after this correction, so probably taking a short break from the market is good while its very unstable for now.
1636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is unsettling, for those who don't have it on: January 06, 2022, 10:41:44 PM
Congratulations mate on finally adopting Bitcoin, but let me share my opinion with you, joining crypto-currency should not make you quit your job, as a starter you need that finance to give yourself a strong hold in cryptocurrency main big whales are still running their companies and has not quit their jobs, also if your bank has ever taken you finances you need to sue, and also don't drop your guard down here in crypto-currency many scammers exist here you have to be very sensitive than ever before, this is the hard Truth you should know.
Others may see it that your decision to leave your job is not really worth it but once you will be acquainted well into crypto, and start gaining decent amount of profits, i guess you will say to yourself leaving your job for crypto is hard but the chances to earn huge income in crypto is unlimited. So its still self fulfilling that even if you can't make profits consistently, but when the time you can make profits, the amount is 10x from what you've earned from your old job. Just stay positive and good things will definitely come along.
1637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 06, 2022, 09:56:15 PM
I want the Warriors to win this now even with Steph Curry being questionable for a bruised quadriceps.
Early picks:
New Orleans Pelicans versus Golden State Warriors - Warriors -5.5
I maxed the handicap @2.37 to win the game as I believe someone in that team will step up their game after a bad loss against the Mavs. Could it be Jordan Poole who wants to redeem himself? From 32 points against the Heat to 6 points yesterday. Let's see if he will be pumped up later.
Unexpected loss, as the whole team didn't spark up with that low-scoring ball game,

I see the trust in you and I believe as well that GSW has that kind of pride inside them; they are always finding ways to
build back the chemistry among them.

If Curry is questionable to play, aside from Poole, Wiggins also needs to step up and provide more points as he expected to
make his way and push for the win..

There are some games that Curry didn't play and yet the Warriors still win. You can tell on the betting odds that Curry will not play, but that's alright as the Pelicans also do not have their best player as this team has been struggling all season long already. Draymond Green and Curry is out as reported.

1638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 06, 2022, 09:43:00 PM
There are only a few days left for Klay Thompson to be back at the team finally. He has been injured for a very long time period and this affected Warriors deeply too.
Looks like it does not affect them after all, if you look at the standing, they are rank at the number 1 and I guess they are the favorite to win in the WCF, so we can say they are still doing well even without him.

Maybe Curry still played insanely superb and carried his team most of the time. But they still felt Thompson's absence as all of the load has been on Curry's shoulders. Sometimes, players like Wiggins helped too but they were rare moments.
Of course, Thompson is a great shooter and he is very reliable, without him the Warriors chances in the NBA finals is not that high especially if they will play the Nets which has Durant, Irving, and Harden in the roster.
1639  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC: is it really bearish? on: January 06, 2022, 09:09:01 PM
Yes. It is really bearish and the primary reason behind that seems to be Omicron based on my research which surprised me since the previous variants actually helped BTC and other cryptocurrencies grow drastically over time.

Historically, the crypto market usually is bullish at this time of the year, but this extremely volatile market doesn't always follow historical patterns.

When the bearish come, you need to inverse good amount of coin. Holding is essential one to get good amount of profit.Patience is needed one among the people. But they failed to use the key tool of holding and bother about the loss. But the inbuilt fact is loss is temporary and profit is permanent.
History may sometimes becomes relevant or not, but this time the crypto prices mostly depend on its market news and sentiments. So its always expected if most of the current events are negative, then the value of the coins will certainly fall, and not because we are already in a bearish market.  But seems the market looks like bearish anyway, then we should at least prepare for it because its where the market is really heading once negative news will always hit the market. Bitcoin is currently facing a hard time, but it will definitely recover in time.

President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that Turks should keep all their savings in lira and that recent exchange rate volatility was largely under control after the lira weakened sharply in the last two months.

"I want all my citizens to keep their savings in our own money, to run all their business with our own money, and I recommend this," Erdogan said in a speech in Istanbul.

"Let's not forget this: as long as we don't take our own money as a benchmark, we are doomed to sink. The Turkish Lira, our money, that is what we will go forward with. Not with this foreign currency, that foreign currency."

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/erdogan-calls-turks-keep-all-savings-lira-2021-12-31/

Who should be blamed for “that”, President Erdogan? You want everyone to hold the Turkish Lira, while your cabal inflate and deflate the currency according to your “mood”.

Bitcoin is the back up/fall back that we need.

Yeah this is insane for a president to go out and say to their citizens.  This just shows you how unstable they are.  If my president came out and said that, I would buy as much bitcoin as humanely possible.  Obviously all that does is show you how weak their economy and fiat currency is and shows you that they expect more issues ahead.

I mean what would you think if your president came out and said something like this.  I would fear my country would be going down the route of Venezuela.  When I think of that, I just think of all the photos of paper notes just laying all over in the streets and in garage bens.
This will cause panic in most of the citizens knowing that the country will eventually fall if they will stick to foreign currencies rather than their own currency. I just hope the president will be more transparent and open minded at least and will start to realize that bitcoin is the best solution to their problem. Or maybe just let the citizens do what they want to do and give them the freedom to use bitcoin because that will improve the individual's economy. If there is nothing good the government can do, then leave them to the citizens as they are more aware on how to make progress and bitcoin will certainly make it happen.
