1641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nayib Bukele prediction: 2 more countries will adopt Bitcoin as legal tender on: January 05, 2022, 09:12:22 PM
President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele tweeted

Very nice of him to tweet about Bitcoin, but we already know that he's bullish on Bitcoin and has his own interest in Bitcoin being successful.
And I clearly don't mind, but:
* I don't think that he's a specialist, by far.
* His tweets should be taken with a grain of salt. Or two. Just because they're greatly biased.

I like your sane assessment of this news.

I believe that one should not take Bukele words as something "wow" and believe that his positive predictions will come true. The future is unknown to anyone and any scenario is possible.

If his predictions come true, then this will raise Bukele in the eyes of many. If he makes a mistake, then, in principle, Bukele don't lose anything. Well, I didn't guess, so what.
Let's leave it to the people if they chose to believe in Bukele or not. After all, we all have our different insight about this, and we just hope all for the best. If his predictions will come into reality, then it will add more positive price into bitcoin because there is an increase of adoption. But if not, i guess he has nothing to lose for sure because he has nothing to prove in the first place. Predictions are freely made by everyone, and it should not be totally right since none of us holds the future.

Quote
MANILA, Philippines – The PBA has postponed all of its scheduled Governors’ Cup games this week after the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) raised Metro Manila to Alert Level 3 following a big surge of COVID-19 cases.
The decision comes as the league awaits a confirmation and further instructions from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) for the continuation of its operations.
In an official statement on Monday, January 3, the PBA also noted that it needs the approval of various local government units (LGUs) before resumption of play.
Source: https://www.rappler.com/sports/pba/postpones-all-games-january-3-9-2022-alert-level-3/

I think that's the best we've got for now, because the government can't afford to impose another 15-day lockdown and as still many individuals are not yet vaccinated due some various reasons so a bubble would be ideal. The PBA had no choice but to agree to the current resolution and postpone its games until further notice. We'll see some update on January 15 if this alert would be extended.
I'm about to post this when I've seen GAB has said no contact sports and the PBA just did the right thing. No bubble, no games for now boys. We take this as rest for now.
But hopefully after this alert level status and it goes down to 2, we're all going to see things going back eventually to normal. This is truly hard when it just happened all of a sudden.
Are they still considering to play outside NCR since some areas are still on Alert level 2?
Well, if this is their final decision we should accept that and yes this could be their resting period and hopefully this new variant will slowly fade away and will not worsen our situation, let's hope that everything will go back to normal the soonest, Alert level 2 will be back and I'm confident about this.
I don't think that they're allowed to go outside NCR as the bubble is still implemented while it's still on Alert level 3, local LGUs and IATF surely won't really approve that one as they can't also afford to have some local transmission if PBA will really play outside NCR and have some places to be crowded as PBA games is so famous locally and people would really want to see it live. Besides, PBA won't go nowhere as they have been already pouring too much money for this games alone after getting cancelled on the scheduled dates.
1643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 05, 2022, 04:52:40 PM
It's very common for Steve Kerr to let his starplayers rest during times like these that their opposing team does have a handicap due to lot of missing players, especially Curry because their team cannot really afford to have an injury especially Thompson's isn't available yet to play.
While J. Poole is really in command and taking the teams lead until the end of the game, he was very impressive in today's game considering that his average PPG this season is 17.6 points.
It was always a joke among the fans during the unanimous mvp year Curry had where he would leave during third quarter because he would take the difference to such a high level that he never really had to play in fourth quarters. Considering the only year they had injury trouble became their demise for the past few seasons, it was a smart decision to not really play him too much.

Let's see how the season will end for them but Klay is coming back as well and he has months to be in shape for playoffs, that's all they need him for, regular season will be easy for them anyway. If Klay comes back and shoots like he used to, I am 90%+ sure that Curry will have even less load, right now he is the best shooter in the team and the only shooter who is that good, with Klay on the floor I am pretty sure that Curry will not be doubled teamed that easily, people will have to defend Klay too which will allow Curry to be playing easier.
I really don't doubt that they'll have the 1st seat in the Western Conference to join the playoffs. As for Klay, we don't know for sure if he can already play that well like he played last 2019 or will he be getting more minutes on the court because for sure there will be some minor adjustments when he returns again. But if eventually that Klay is already at his maximum play then GSW will be much tougher again and Curry's burden and load will be shared to Klay so that Curry could play again at his best without so much guard as their opponent's defensive will be shared because of Klay's presence.
1644  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elsavador President Predicting $100,000 Bitcoin price looks like another joke on: January 05, 2022, 08:55:10 AM
Though i Know that the president is just pushing Bitcoin because this will favor them if boosted and reached so much high value yet Words like this sounds encouragement to many people that might still hindering themselves from investing , or others are still in deep thinking if will add investments.
If the president itself is positive then what more His people in that specific country?
I will support that message even though i find it exaggerating.
For me, i don't see it exaggerating or even a joke because i believe that bitcoin is really capable to reach $100k maybe at the end of this year. Although this will remain a prediction until its already happening, but come to think of it? $100k was just the last year's prediction for bitcoin but when the market suddenly faces a correction, the market starts to move in a downward trend, and did not realize reaching $100k. But since it did not happened last year, so maybe it has a good chance to make it real this year. Maybe we just have to take a break, and when the market is stable, then i think bitcoin will move again upward as its always bound to reach another heights.
1645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump Says Crypto Is 'Very Dangerous' ... but ... on: January 04, 2022, 07:10:29 PM
Donald Trump has a right to his opinion about cryptocurrency and so do I, we have different backgrounds and that will give us different perspective.
His wife is now into NFT and he thinks she is doing great, so I don't think DT perspective should bother anyone especially now that he is out of power.
Well, everyone has different stand on bitcoin and cryptocurrency and we should not expect for them to be positive on bitcoin as people have their own preference in life. I think as long as dollar is existing, Trump will focus more on it for now but maybe in the near future, he will learn to discover the worth of bitcoin and starts to embrace it. While his wife is already in NFT, and is probably making profits by now. I'm just glad that whatever Trump's stand in life, he still supports his wife engaging in crypto and wish the best for it.
1646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 04, 2022, 08:21:57 AM
And just like that, the Warriors (115) have defeated the Heat (108).

This is exactly why the Warriors is on a different scale and level compared to the other teams, except their star players this team is no doubt consisted of very talented key players like Wiggins, Payton, Porter, especially the star of the night Jordan Poole who made an impressive 32 points (12/17 FG). While Curry isn't so exhausted because Steve Kerr is always putting him on bench to avoid injuries, like on the 4th quarter, Curry only stepped on with just a minute left to maintain the gap.
As to the Heats, Herro and Lowry really deserves some credits for playing 42 minutes and 39 minutes respectively with almost no rest in the whole game.

I'm pretty excited for the next week's game, it's the Warriors vs. the Bulls.

It's very common for Steve Kerr to let his starplayers rest during times like these that their opposing team does have a handicap due to lot of missing players, especially Curry because their team cannot really afford to have an injury especially Thompson's isn't available yet to play.

1647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 03, 2022, 04:15:44 PM
Yeah, everyone is expecting that we're about to at least stabilize the situation of the pandemic but this girl came and broke the quarantine rules, and worst, she infected her friends and now we're on the spread again. This is terrible and ridiculous. One wrong action and all industries are affected by her wrongdoings. The income of the PBA will be lessen again and we might see them again dwell in huge loss just because of the alert level 3.

We cannot stop the spread anymore, it already happened, let's just listen to the order of the government as they know better how to handle the situation. If that will result for the PBA to be stopped for awhile, then we should accept it, it's not time for blaming now, it's time for adjusting and accept the current situation.
I don't think that the PBA games will be stopped. I've seen a proposal that they'll go in a bubble but the question is where. I don't know if it will be in Ynares or in the Araneta.
Just like what they've originally planned before the opening with the live audience. I guess we just have to embrace the situation, we really don't like it at all. But because of that girl, things become worst.
Things like this can happen as long as there are rich spoiled kids, and we can't really prevent that from happening. So blaming the girl won't really help at all on what are we experiencing right now. And we can already expect that there are some setbacks to the plans especially the live games of PBA, but I seriously don't think that the games would be stopped and will be postponed because PBA can still manage to continue the games but sadly only the players and peoples involved in the said games are the only allowed to enter. So, there's no spectators allowed and I guess we're back again watching in TV for some games in livestreams.
1648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 03, 2022, 12:42:39 PM
My early pick.

Game: Heat vs Warriors.

Warriors are well rested and they are complete compared to the Heat who will be missing some of their players in this game, so I don't think they'll be able to compete well even if Butler will play. With good players rotation, I'm sure the Warriors will enjoy dominating the heat here, so my pick is Warriors -8.5, GL!
Same here mate, I've put my bets on Warriors -9 too. I think the Heat still lacks key players due to injuries and safety protocol but I think Butler will and can play on this game as he's so hyped that he made and scored a season high of 37 points in their last game against Rockets plus Chalmers is also there but we can't really expect from him as he's been inactive recently. As for the GSW, Draymond green is already eligible to play tonight as he already clears the safety protocols. Seems this will be a close game, GL!
1649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 03, 2022, 10:59:33 AM
Raptors are completely destroying Knicks now. There is a point gap of more than 20 points now. Raptors really needed a this kind of win actually. Knicks are so bad at defending now. And so far, VanVleet has been the star of the night. He scored 35 points so far. And he has a 11/17 field goal made. This is his best performance so far in this season I guess. I saw him scoring 31 points the most so far.
Raptors PG VanVleet was really a the star during the game vs NY Knicks, he leads the team until the end and made 35 points in his 31 minutes play, ofcourse we can't deny Siakam's play that helps securing their win who also made 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Currently, Raptors are on the 10th spot of the Easter Conference and they really need to win their upcoming games if they really want to be in the playoffs this season. Their next opponent is against SA Spurs and I think that they wouldn't be having a hard time as they have what it takes to defeat to defeat the Spurs.

But the question is, can they maintain their effort and continue to streak? As the next 2 games after the Spurs would be hard for them as they are going to play against Bucks and Jazz on the same week.
1650  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on sale, will the support continues to hold? on: December 31, 2021, 09:49:05 PM
^ Panic sellers will have to learn it the hard way here in crypto. You can't blame them if they want to stop the bleeding in their portfolio and cashing it out early. Maybe they're thinking of going back in the market, once it settled down and re-invest again. But I think majority of us really wanted to just hold, no matter what will be the resistance or support price. In the long run, holding will be the best option.
I know we have our own preference in times when the market is very unstable and deciding to end up in panic selling to cash out profits, always rely on our final decision. But i suggest never sell when the price is low as it always bring losses and disappointments in the end. This is the reason why most of us prefer to stay calm and just hold the coins until the price recovers and jus wait for a perfect price to sell. But weak hands often never stay calm and relax, instead they continue selling their coins and end up at a huge loss.
1651  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin collapse or mature? on: December 31, 2021, 09:20:35 PM
I've been reading such stories since the dawn of Bitcoin and cryptos. Likewise, I mostly wanted to point out the differences between pro and against Bitcoin and their status. I don't know any of these two guys being mentioned (pro-Bitcoin), because honestly, I don't actually bother with predictions and analysts.

For people who are deeply involved in Bitcoin, it is quite logical that they are generally very positive, because their work and earnings depend on how successful Bitcoin is. Bankers, on the other hand, know very well that they can afford to be negative about Bitcoin because it suits their business in a way that deters people from investing in Bitcoin.

I’m also not a fan of all those experts who claim to know something, and in the end it turns out that some members of this forum know a lot more than them, so it’s better to listen to their advice and think for yourself before any important decision.

Tom Lee remains bull always and we had lots of discussion on his bitcoin speculations.

He also had his moments of weakness and doubt, and after comparing the banning of flavored e-cigarettes with the possible banning of Bitcoin in the US he really showed his great expertise.

As the Trump administration is seemingly getting ready to issue a ban on flavored e-cigarettes, prominent cryptocurrency commentator and head analyst at Fundstrat Global Advisors, Tom Lee, said that this is a signal that the White House can issue an executive order banning anything, including Bitcoin.
Definitely, it's expected from people who are accustomed to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general to be positive. On the other hand, I'm also trying to be realistic, Bitcoin has skyrocketed in the last year, I wouldn't be surprised if we had a few months (or even a year) of  a bearish market condition. Don't get me wrong, I'm positive for the upcoming future, however, I'm trying to contain myself from being too excited and make unrealistic predictions, which I generally do not follow, either if they are positive or negative.
Well, we always look the bright side of bitcoin because we know the potentials it has. And even if the market suddenly crash or experience a short term or long term bearish season, i know bitcoin will never collapse but definitely rises up and creating higher value every year. With this current condition of bitcoin and of the whole the crypto space, i think as soon as bitcoin recovers and starts to skyrocket, the whole crypto market will get better and will start to recover too from this correction.
1652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should you sell ethereum and btc to buy Solana/SOL? on: December 31, 2021, 05:33:17 PM
Based on the analysis of the price of solana only corrected 32% of ATH maybe I will not rush to take an All-in decision in solana because the possibility of solana will go down after the price increase is very high, the development of solana is very fast with great potential but in investing I will not sacrifice BTC and ETH for unstable coins top position on coinmarketcap.
Solana has certainly its own potentials to survive in the crypto space but i'm not stupid enough to sell my ethereum and bitcoin for Solana. It won't be a good idea since Solana is not fully stable and anytime when the market crashes, its value will probably be declining. But for ethereum and bitcoin, even if the market crashes, we all know the fact that they will always recover easily and go back to their top positions as the most profitable and strong investments in the crypto market. Its good to diversify but always prioritize bitcoin and ethereum on top of the list.
1653  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I know legit and scam investment? on: December 31, 2021, 05:03:39 PM
There are a lot of scams here so if we are wrong to take steps then it will plunge us into losses. They provide various attractive offers to attract investors. it is difficult to determine whether an investment project is a scam or not but on the other hand we can learn to choose a good project by understanding the project itself. in the sense that we understand the concept, the team and also the development of a project. Only then can we decide whether the investment project is worth following or not.
The risk is always at the new projects in the market since most that are arising today are scams. And they look like legit projects in the first place so its really hard for us not to fall for them. But if we create good analysis and a thorough research on the project and the staff behind it, we can see differences between a scam and a legit project. This is the advantage of having a full knowledge on the project because you'll come to uncover its faults. And only then you can avoid falling from scam projects.
1654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk once again throwing shade at bitcoin on: December 31, 2021, 08:52:34 AM
Another attempt to hype DOGE again, sorry but it's not happening anymore, DOGE price trend is going down and there's no way Elon Musk could save Doge downtrend even if he hypes it regularly. Bitcoin ===> DOGE, that's a fact and any coin cannot stand against bitcoin in terms of competition.
Slowly DOGE has no power. this is not the time, Elon Musk might just give a statement about DOGE without thinking about the impact for DOGE. the downtrend will continue.
Elon Musk tweet will increase DOGE instantly, but will return to the original price.
Bitcoin is still unstable and other altcoins will be disrupted too.

Since Dogecoin reached ATH 8 months ago, the price of Dogecoin has been steadily falling, even now the price of Dogecoin has fallen 76%
from the ATH price. So whatever Elon Musk says on twitter about Dogecoin, it's unlikely to make Dogecoin go up again to the ATH price.
Because many people have realized, the increase in Dogecoin is indeed due to manipulation by Elon Musk. Even Dogecoin prices can drop
even lower if Bitcoin prices are still unstable, so Dogecoin is not the right choice for investment. Maybe only newbies who have no knowledge of
the crypto world and Elon Musk followers will buy Dogecoin right now.
If you aim for profits, then you should not invest in Dogecoin in the first place. Because a coin without real purpose will never be profitable and will only end up being undervalued or being a dead coin. And i think even newbies nowadays have become smarter already that they always choose bitcoin and strong altcoins over those new and weak projects. So Elon could never make it again if he wished to hyped Dogecoin in the second time around because its value is already experiencing a downfall.
1655  Economy / Economics / Re: Robert Kiyosaki expects a market crash and economic crisis - do you believe it? on: December 31, 2021, 08:27:32 AM
Yes I do believe because the market have been in huge profits since the beginning of Covid battle in 2020 march and till date BTC and other coins have shown tremendous growth, it's time to pay back what was taken from the market by bear market, what goes up must come down
It's the cycle. Just after a bull run, what do we expect next? If there's the extension of the bull run, he'll just said the same thing that a crash is about to happen. Not only for the crypto market but for the stock market too. It's like that and there's no changing of his statement because it will come eventually no matter how long the bull market stays with us,
Just as the other economists are telling despite not being a real economists but they've became successful with their investments are telling the same thing about an economic crisis.
Come to think off that a market could really only have two possible paths or ways to make which is to pump or to dump/correction which is a typical phase that could really happen on a market
which people should really be getting used to it and about people do make out speculative calls about market crashes and even positive views then i do mostly ignore them which i do say
the best thing to be done rather than making yourself get scared nor get too hyped on what they are speculating because we know that no human being could ever
know on what would happen ahead.
We all know that there are chances for a market crash in the future but we can't tell precisely when will it hit the market. So this made me realized that we should always seize every good opportunity that comes and cash out our profits so we can prepare once a market crash happens. Because when that happens, i guess trading will be very hard to make profits by that time and the best thing we can do is just to sit back and relax, and watch out for our investments seeing their prices continue to decline.
1656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you buying in this market downturn? on: December 30, 2021, 11:52:00 PM
Bitcoin's still the best buy during this down time.

Everyone shouldn't be discouraged when they see bitcoin goes down. You have to realize that it's the reason most of your alts are down. And instead of piling up for more alts of yours, get the source and reason why the market goes down.

That's bitcoin.

Buy it and for the altcoins, solid ethereum it is.
Bitcoin and ethereum will always be the best crypto coins and if we can buy them when the market is in downturn, that will create huge profits in time when they reach their new ATH. So bear season does not mean that we should be doing with nothing but definitely its the best time to accumulate potential coins when they are in their dip prices. But if you can add more potential altcoins to diversify your portfolio, that will be a lot better since you will be waiting for them to make profits when the market turns to bullish. As long as you are able to fit them in your budget and not to take loans from others, that will be a very good start.
1657  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can you really predict Bitcoin at this time on: December 30, 2021, 11:26:30 PM
I have listened and review to many market prediction, they are not correct.people are just saying there opinions at this time of the year about Bitcoin. Some will say it will come up another will say it not. So many discussion.
Who can decide the next phase of Bitcoin at this time.
Speculative market as you called which you could really expect that there are tons of speculations floating around because this market had been always a unpredictable one which means
that people would keep out on guessing on what would happen in the future. We wont really be predicting if this market is something could be predicted.Right?
This wont be called a speculative market on the first place if it was easy to know on where the prices could potentially go.For now the best thing you
do is to sustain yourself despite of these characteristics.
Right. What we can do are just educated guesses about the future price of bitcoin but no one of us can directly tell what will be the exact price of bitcoin and how its gonna be in the future. We all know that bitcoin will be even more profitable in the future but as to what price it will end up will remain unpredictable. Not only for bitcoin but the whole crypto market will always be unpredictable. There will be different speculations around and we can only tell if they are true or not when we get there already. But having the whole crypto market being mysterious is what keeping us more thrilled and excited. Right?
1658  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It is possible to make a profit by trading on: December 30, 2021, 10:03:02 PM
I have been trading for a long time. However, it is not always possible to benefit. In some cases there is a possibility of loss. After facing huge losses, I have benefited again after a long time.
I am glad that you you have managed to become profitable in crypto trading because many people are continuously facing losses and that is not a case for you. I guess now you must have understood that making profit from cryptocurrency trading is possible for anyone still we must need to make ourselves technically strong for facing the fluctuations of the crypto markets otherwise we might face more frequent losses compared to profitable trades.

The problem with traders as we are is that at the time of losses we want to start doubting our strategy and trying to change it but at the end when we change the winning strategy we return to huge losses.
This happens. Because, when you are facing losses then you will start doubting about the the effectiveness of your strategy which is the reason people are giving priority for fixing the strategy rather than continue their trading with same strategy.
Well, if you are making frequent losses from your present strategy, then its time to analyze the reasons of all your losses. If you think its not you but its on the strategy you are using, then maybe its effectiveness has gone out already. Sometimes, we also have to upgrade our own strategies so that it can still cater with the continuous changes in the crypto market. Its always possible to make profits in trading but most of the time, it takes good strategies and positive mindset of a trader that despite of all losses, making profits at some time is still possible.
1659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin upgraded my financial life on: December 30, 2021, 08:54:03 PM
Apart from getting that passive income from bitcoin, it also helped me realize that there is more to money than just being spent and kept on banks. Bitcoin taught me how to handle my finances, and how to not willingly trust third party institutions such as banks when it comes to my own money. Overall, bitcoin helped me get some gigs I never thought I would be doing, and taught me lessons I never thought I would be needing.

It's great to hear that a fellow bitcoiner found gems when trying to learn about cryptocurrencies. Enjoy the great holidays that you have right there. I hope that aside from the monetary gains, you also find your way into financial literacy as well, just like I did.
You are right. Bitcoin is not just all about money but it also teaches us how to manage our finances well and not to focus on unnecessary things as it will only pull us down. If you believe bitcoin will give us instant profits, then you're wrong. Yes, it may give us ton of profits but it needs hard work and patience first so we can reap the good fruits of labor. And most of all, bitcoin can definitely change our life's financial status if we always seize good opportunities in bitcoin and make it as our advantage.
1660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your altcoin predictions for the new year 2022 on: December 30, 2021, 08:35:15 AM
For the next year its just few coin i'm mopping out for which include Ethereum, BNB and Solana. Mete verse and most NFTs might trive but for now it's still like a gambling venture and so I try to keep my investment on them on the minimal. The coming year will be another boast for the crypto industry so watching out for profitable investment should be of high importance to avoid investing in dead projects
Well, metaverse gaming might be profitable by next year so i think i will also try to invest in it even in a minimal amount. But for altcoins, i will always invest in ethereum as it has always a use case having its smart network always in demand. And of course BNB too has also potentials to increase its value since it always supported by Binance exchange. Although these are just pure speculations, but if the market will definitely be in good shape, i know these coins will eventually in skyrocket again.
