Ok so things are running etc and all going well so now I'm wondering if I can get the screen with cgminer in to appear by itself and at a certain size. Does anyone know? I've been looking but unsure where to put the commands for the window size. As for the auto appearing after booting I have no idea.

Funny you should say about the fans I was wondering about them. I see they are connected to a 3pin terminal it only use 2pins (+/-) is the third pin for pwm signals?

Have you got a link for fans? What temps are you getting (with ambient temp taken into account)?

The hub is a dlink h7 which from research works with the raspi. It's got the rboxs hooked up to it aswell and it's being powered directly from the 5v line on the psu. I'm starting to think my little gekko is just getting tired. I just want to play with it and push it as far as it can. Previously it's been upto 300m and ran for a few hours until I tried to up it slightly and then it would only run back at 250m. It's had plenty of cooling on it so that's not a problem.

I've used DLink H7's with Raspis in the last and they've worked like champs, so I agree that your hub probably isn't the problem. My next suggestion would be to check out the voltage and power draw, but you seem like you know more about that than I do. Smiley It could just be the gekko; most of mine run great at 300MHz, but I do have a couple that start getting pretty flaky above 200-225 no matter how I tweak them.

I think that's what I've got. She's an early bitshopper one #10000031 and even sidehacks own one is #51. Probably had updated components along the way and run a bit smoother. She's currently running at 225m and she's comfortable. I might buy another one and see how she goes. Maybe a "true" green gekko if I can get one from somewhere.

Not bad! I sold my last 2 Boxes for 45 Eur/unit + 39Eur for a Corsair CX600M 2 month ago  Smiley
The time for this little ones are looong over except you use them for BOINC

Just like the antrun duke, I'm only in it for the fun of it. Going to see how far I can push the little rboxs for histories sake as I haven't read how high anyone has had them running stably  Wink
2625  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: June 10, 2016, 05:12:47 PM
On bitminter you have to make sure the worker name is created on your account. Once you have created the worker name eg. S7LN then you need to enter it into the pool details on the settings page of the miner. So your pool details would read:-

Stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333

Username_S7LN

Once that has been set you need to click "save and apply" (not having seen the gui for the s7 I'm basing it on previous antminers)

First of all you must have set up an account with the pool you want to use and use the same username for the account as the username for above.

On my old s3's I set the Ethernet settings to dhcp so it finds a free ip address on your router. Use "Advanced IP Scanner" to find the miner on your network. I think they appear as paragon technologies.

Try all that and see how you get on. Obviously make sure you all leads are plugged in and lights are flashing where they should be  Wink

I have 2 I would be willing to sell one if you want to PM me US only shipping cost outside the US is to high

Should've followed up to my last post. I got three rboxs and a corsair cx600m off eBay for 55gbp which was a steal. Thanks for the offer though  Smiley

Voltage is set to the 12oclock position so around .75v when it was running it yesterday at 250m it didn't have a single reject or hw error. Just wouldn't start to hash when I turned the voltage up. Almost like it needed a jump start even though it has plenty of power.
2629  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: June 09, 2016, 09:27:23 PM
So I've finally got my raspi3 up and running with some rboxs connected. Managed to get cgminer-gekko working and it's picking up the gekko but for some reason it won't hash above 250m I've got enough power going to it through a Y cable connected to a powered hub and a buck converter connected to a 12v breakout board. The blurple (blue/purple) led will flash a couple of times and the amps will rise to around 0.9a then fall and stop hashing. Once it's going at 250m it pulls 1.3a @ 4.83v.

Even set at 255m it won't have any of it. I have noticed that the green led pulses slightly when I try and go above 250m.

Is all this related to the raspi as I have had it upto 275m on Windows with only minor problems.

Absolutely no google conference calls at all. Learnt it science years ago and has always stuck as its one of those questions people ask when you suggest "have you tried WD40?"

But then any thin oil that's available in an aerosol can will do the same thing. Only addition to some is ptfe or Teflon.
2631  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: いい antrun.de - Antrouter R1 Fun-Run - compare your share いい on: June 08, 2016, 07:44:30 PM
I've been hovering around the middle of the pack, seems I could use some WD40, too.  Or some duct tape, every good machine needs duct tape.

Bonus points if you know what the WD stands for w/out google. Smiley

A few years ago my mechanic told me WD40's main ingredient.

It is "fish oil" - I simply couldn't believe it.

I know this one well. It's "Water Displacement" and the 40 was the 40th formula they tried  Wink

Toptek, yea the raspi 3 already has it as I tried to add it and it said it was already there.

Jake36, cheers for that gem of info. This now means I can tinker with the settings to my hearts desire lol

Don't join antpool!!

Join kano.is or bitminter or johnys mining emporium(bravo mining). All run by members on here and all have threads which are monitored by the pool operators so quick responses to questions etc.

You can join any miners to any pool aslong as you know how to set them up with your pool info etc.
2634  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Raspian & cgminer on: June 07, 2016, 06:48:20 PM
Right another little update.

I followed this link and its directions:-

https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=103046

I omitted the bitmaintech cgminer for CK's real version (not the gecko version either). Also having thought about the fact that my tv went blank and it almost coincided with when cgminer was stopping I followed another raspi forum post about adding a screensaver "sudo apt-get install xscreensaver" from which it adds a menu option on the gui to change or disable the screensaver/blanking. So far after 30mins its still running *crosses fingers*.

All I need to know now is how to get back in and change the freq if I want to. Do I just go back into "sudo nano /etc/rc.local" and change the settings?

Thank you for the advice and support by the way. I would've lost my patience with it long before now if I hadn't been on this forum and been able to get help  Grin

Reset his stats if possible. That's the only fair thing to do. Not that im being a pita as my ant is shockingly slow and it makes no odds to me but its not in the spirit of the antrun to cheat Wink
2636  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Bitminter client (Windows/Linux/Mac) on: June 07, 2016, 11:22:57 AM
What antminers are you using? Also which version of the client gui?
2637  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Raspian & cgminer on: June 07, 2016, 05:26:47 AM
Sorry I did have a username I just took it out for a bit of security but now I see it was a bit pointless lol

So from what you have seen an I doing it right? Also I still can't get back to look at cgminer. Screen works on there as I typed "screen -list" and it gave me four. One attached and three detached but I could not look at the attached one, only the detached ones. Couldn't close any of them down either.

As you can tell I'm a bit out of my depth here. I just want cgminer to run my rboxs, not switch off and be able to check on it every so often  Embarrassed

2639  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Raspian & cgminer on: June 06, 2016, 06:33:25 PM
I have used a combination of these two step by step guides:-

http://www.raspberrypirobot.com/how-to-install-and-run-cgminer-3-9-0-on-raspberrypi/

https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=103046

As I couldn't do the "git clone" part from the second link for the gekko version of cgminer, so had to use the wget part of the first link to download it and then install it.

Its running now, but due to a connection problem the putty screen closed. when I go back into putty I cant view cgminer. I have tried the screen -rd and screen -x.

I haven't managed to attempt the screen -dms settings bit yet as ive just managed to get it running again after reinstalling raspbian for a fresh start at things.
2640  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Raspian & cgminer on: June 05, 2016, 12:47:17 PM
Hi guys,

Just wondering if there is any way to get a cgminer icon on the desktop of raspian or at least a .bat file so you can start cgminer without having to putty in.

Or can you have a terminal open on the pi desktop with it running so I can just switch the source input on my tv and see the stats?

Also if I close the putty session from my laptop, cgminer is still running on the pi. How do I get back to see the cgminer stats through putty as when I open it up again it goes back to the login page.

Thanks.
