cgminer does not work with an R-Box because the lack of an driver for it. The sidehack stick works with an icarus driver. Thats all I can say.
I used it with the Rbox Rev2 (small square USB one with dual fans) and it worked fine.

Any chance of a few blocks in the bank before I sell my S9?? Please!! Of course after you take a miner off the pool you will get the next 3 or 4 blocks for it because of your 5Nd That would be nice to get a string of blocks a nice flourish to the end of my "big" mining days however short they were lol

Best efficiency and hashrate is the S9 now. Avalon A721 is a very close second. Avalon has reliability but Bitmain has slight better stats. Hashrate wise it's between 12-14Th per machine. Size wise it's a 120mm each end with hasnbords contained in an extruded aluminium 120x120x300mm square tube (rough measurements).

Sounds like you're covering pretty much every angle. If I had a solar aspect or cheaper electricity available id certainly be taking over the garage and having a mini farm. But even with the S9 being the best for efficiency I only earn about $30 after electricity. That's without factoring in the cost of the miner itself. I did change my fans for different design ones, same rpm rating (which is important for cooling) but blade design was different as the existing rear fan whined something terrible even at lower speed settings.

The attic would almost fulfill the needs but not really that practical (more challenging for cool air supply, power (220v), internet)
My laundry room already has 220v unused receptacle, shares a wall with the garage, so I would either punch thru that wall to route the air into the garage or even possibly tap into the dryer exhaust vent/hose and route the hot air directly out the vent to the outside (roof). My router is also pretty close to the laundry room so connecting to to my network would not be an issue either.
I just need to abate the noise from within the laundry room. I guess I will just need to build some kind of sound dampening box/enclosure that will fit the hardware (S9/PSU).
My intent on this post was to hopefully tap into other "small home hobby miners" that have tackled the noise issue and pass their solutions onto me.
Ive seen a few threads about putting them in a box and insulating it (not for warmth but for sound) and running acoustic ducting to try and lessen the fan noise. With mine at the speed its on sounds no more noisy than a desk fan current noise levels are 52db.

Try localbitcoins and get used to the high fee people charge for the reversible payment method. No one here will deal with you because of reasons already stated. Good luck.

As sardasa has already said. No one will trade with a new account that has no activity or trust rating as you are want to use a reversible payment method. If you want to wait 180 days then I think you will find a seller but I'd imagine you wouldn't want to wait that long.

Yea I'm a bit quick on the trigger these days 😆
|
|
|
Yea you'd need to keep the miner indoors and vent to outside as the garage would be too hot to run at full speed.
Have you got a loft/attic space you could utilise? Draw the air from a room and vent through the roof?

I use the heat to warm the room and the adjacent room so save on heating bills slightly. My electricity cost is around $0.20kwh so never been that much in profit. But I'm a home hobby miner. The hash rate is just above that of an S7 but the efficiency is better so actually made a profit compared to the S7LN I used to have. ROI doesn't bother me. Just aslong as I at least break even.

Ive got an S9 under my desk at home and the noise is fine if you heavily underclock it. Mine is running 5.8Th with ambient temps of 20c and fans set to 25%. The PCB and Chip Temps are 62c and 90c respectively.
I do have a manually adjustable S9 though. New ones have "autotune" which doesn't let you adjust the freq or the fan speed, which is important is you want to make it quieter.

Since you're not really selling it, this has become a dick tease..
It says exactly what I was doing in the first post. I was after an idea on price from people, nothing more. If people wanted to read more into it then that's not my fault nor my intention.

Your password was changed recently. You have feedback from another new account which obviously looks false. You can't spell "dollars" in your title and you are asking for such a small amount that's not much more than the fee for the transaction to send it.
In summary it's a very bad scam attempt and you will get no one to trade with you because you are asking for bitcoin and giving a reversible payment method.
Looks false? huh? I just need to have $2 Dollars to transfer my Paypal Funds to My Card,. And Did you try to Read what was POSTED I CAN BUY IT THRU BITCOIN so it mean I will pay bitcoin to buy Dollars not bitcoin. and what is the concern if I change my password? What is your concern there?? What makes you think I am SCAMMER? because of the WRONG SPELLING?Accusing people without any proof of scamming... My mistake on the direction of transaction. Take a look at most threads on here and you will see that people with new accounts and changed passwords have bought the accounts and are scammers. If you're not you're not but you have markers that are suspicious.

I swear this is the second time this guy has posted saying this exact thing and been told the same answer, deal with BMT direct

Yes you will need to change your router to 192.168.1.# to be able to find the S3 on its standard 192.168.1.1 address. Once you find it change it to DHCP in the settings and then change your router back if you wish.

As the title says really.
I'm contemplating getting out of mining with larger Asics so I'm just putting some feelers out there and asking people how much they think it's worth.
Since I've had it I've run it at 5.8th on all three boards (each board is doing 1.9th) with an error rate of 0.0007%.
So guys, how much do you think it's worth?
Why are you running it at less than 1/2 speed and still get error rates? Whats wrong with it? There's nothing wrong with it. Every miner I've owned has had errors. I don't know any miner that doesn't have errors at this speed or above. I'll take it if you're willing to ship it to Canada and accept escrow with OgNasty.
If it runs at full 11.x+ TH I'd pay $1K for it.
Thanks for the offer but that's a lot lower than an offer I've already received. Plus I'm just testing the waters and seeing what the offers are like at the moment.

Potentially interested. What is the full speed rating for the unit?
Edited the title to include the requested information
