Got the new voltage regulator circuit board today and hooked it up. Set it at 5v and now the gekko is getting 4.89v from the Y cable. Now happily running at 310m after a couple of plug/unplugs  Smiley
Congrats, sounds good Smiley!
Can you share some pics of your setup?

andY

I would but it seems to have thrown its toys out of the pram and now struggles to stay at 275m.  Has anyone had better luck with it running off a raspi? Im considering getting one so I don't have my laptop on all the time. The only other mining gear I have is an old R-Box 100ghs. The raspi could do both I assume aslong as its got the externally powered hub for the gecko?

I wouldn't run the gekko stick directly on your computers USB ports. You could end up causing damage.

You WILL need a mains powered usb hub and the Y cable.

Search for this EBAY number :- 231892484263

It's got two male usb ends that both go into one female end (the end where the gekko goes). One side of the cable is data and power and the other is just power so you can be sure the gekko gets power from two ports not just one.

Have a read through this thread:-

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173963.0

It should have a vast array of answers for you. If not then post in there and someone will be able to help you.

In that thread there is a download for a specific version of cgminer which works well with the gekko. I haven't tried it on gfgminer personally but its a lot easier on cgminer as the .bat file is easier to write rather than using the different "codes" for the freq. I would suggest a mains powered hub for it and a USB Y spliter cable so you are getting enough power to it and not trying to pull too much from one port.
2665  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: May 25, 2016, 03:08:52 PM
Well mine has been running stable at 300mhz for the past 3 days. 4.45v, 1.64a, 7.32w according to the oled usb meter that's inline with it. Currently returning 16ghs avg. Will be changing the cheap 12v-5v usb converter for one with an lm2596(?) chip and adjustable voltage so I can up the voltage a bit so it will hopefully give it a decent 5v not the 4.4v its currently receiving.

What do you write in putty once you have logged in to get access to cgminer like you would if you ran a single instance through windows?

how long has it been running? what freq is it set at?

Still looking. Looks like shipping from the states makes it too expensive unless the miners are pretty much free  Undecided

Why not just get this and solder it to the wires of a Y cable power feed ?

There's a 5V 60A model Smiley

It seems my 6 sticks are working a lot better on my RPI than on my gigabyte brix...

I had to connect the superbpag 7ports hub to a USB 2 hub, but I've had no HW errors at all in the past 2 days...

I have no idea about soldering electronics lol.  I can solder copper pipes together but circuits and components ive read are temperature sensitive and I could end up doing loads of damage.

My mistake got the wrong listing. This is the one I have:-

But would this one be better?

Ive turned the vcore up so there are no HW errors. Seems to be running ok at the moment. Ive moved it onto the psu fan and the voltage has upped to 4.55v now. Its drawing 1.4a and around 6.4w.

The usb dc converter has no adjustment that ive found but was rated to 2a.

Well it turns out that my gekko is having voltage issues. As soon as it starts the voltage drops to 4.3v even though I've got a Y splitter to the hub and a step down converter straight off a 550w psu breakout board. Has anyone got any suggestions? A decent hub that can be purchased in the UK that has enough oomph?
Can you post a picture/pictures of your setup?

andY

Ive got one of these:-     http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D-Link-USB-2-0-Powered-Hub-7-Port-Fast-for-Laptop-PC-MAC-480Mbits-DUB-H7-EU-Plug-/251975814197?hash=item3aaaedcc35:g:cUgAAOSwBahVZzLO

and one of these running off a psu breakout board:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-DC-Step-down-Converter-voltage-Regulator-24V-12V-to-5V-USB-Charger-Voltmeter-/221751716929?hash=item33a16eac41:g:q4AAAOSwqu9VN0ft

the gecko is connected to a USB Y splitter cable:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-2-0-A-Female-to-2-Dual-USB-Male-Hub-Power-Adapter-Y-Splitter-Cable-Cord-/272229841790?hash=item3f6229bb7e:g:Hv8AAOSwuAVWxN4G

The data end is connected to the hub and the power end is connected to the step down converter.

I get 4.93v until I plug the gekko in then it drops to 4.32v. It runs on 250m at the moment and wont go any higher and run stable.

Can you use a compac stick with an antrouter as the controller as you can the U3?
If so, I will consider getting one when finances are good.

I used my R1 as a gecko controller and it worked until I cranked up the freq. My R1 hasn't been the same since  Sad

Well it is good to see the pool back to ~3.3PH, all the hash that left after the bad luck block seems to have come back home.

That's and kfchicken keeps bumping the hash up with rentals

Its working again now. I use eu1. Must have been my end for some reason.

eu1 has looked stable to me for months. But it's always possible that something happens somewhere on the internet that results in some users not being able to reach a server. You could add mint.bitminter.com:3333 as a secondary on your miners.

Will do. Thanks Doc Smiley

Has there been anymore problems as ive just got home and checked cgminer as it says that bitminter was not responding?

I've got some of the 100GH New R-Box dead from CrazyGuy, could probably fix one up and get it your way when I have time.

I do not have any of the pod R-Box though, interested in that.

I also don't have any Neptunes. I actually don't have any KFC gear in the museum.

Unfortunately, I also don't have any budget for the museum at present. But hopefully I will by the end of the month.

How much would you want for it (including shipping to the UK)? I'm after the 100gh ones only a couple to have a little micro mine set up. Electric cost killed my two s3+'s so they've gone now. Although I've still got a half dead one. Only one board works.
