Taxes can be used like silent thefts, there are many for this purpose, but they are part of the income of a country.

The government is dependent on the tax revenues. I agree with that. But what is the point in having super-high tax rates (such as 45% income tax in Germany), when you are imposing a lot of indirect taxes as well (such as VAT and GST)?

Because they can.

For all of those people that are ok with someone taking your money as long as the money is used for "good" with only a little bit of corruption, please list your bank account login information along with your bank wire codes. I promise I will do some good with your money. You are now bound by this social contract I just created.

Also please PM me your bitcoin private keys. I promise not to steal your bitcoins. I will only tax them.

Please let me know what sort of costume I should wear and maybe a picture with some symbols behind me to set your mind at ease to ensure you that I am official. Maybe a shiny star on my chest, an awkwardly shaped hat that shows you that I am not just some regular guy stealing from you but someone who is there to help the community.

I also promise to make all of your dreams come true. If that helps.

Nah. The people who are moaning about them are born, educated and kept safe by taxes. I'd say that was a pretty reasonable return. It would be nice to have a say in where it's diverted to or have a sliding scale of services vs payments but they're a necessary evil. The alternative is even more evil.

It reminds me of Lauryn Hill whining about her tax problems saying she was born into a society she didn't give consent for. Join the fuckin' club, darlin'.

Reminds me of all of these socialists that go around whining about capitalism as they go to the grocery store to buy their choice of a wide variety of food with their iPhone in their pocket.

I sold all mine in June at around $2,300. The bubble is deflating look out below.. Fun ride but I am out until prices stabilize, I might buy back in at triple digits.

Sure sign of a bubble - 1- Everyone is buying on pure speculation Bennie Babies, extra houses and condos in the 2008 housing bubble, Tulips, etc "just buy it will always be worth more."
2- Look at the charts, pure spike. That is not sustainable..

No one is actually using Bitcions in a mainstream use. People have to jump tru hoops just to buy a trinket on line. No one is storing wealth in it because it is to unstable and new.

Pure Speculation=Pure Bubble

I suggest you stay out. Fiat will give you everything you could ever hope for.

These disagreements about the tax, may be related to each country.
Everyone who lives in a corrupt country, with high taxes, and poor infrastructure, feels stolen

So...if someone takes something from you without your consent, it only matters if the person is corrupt to determine if someone took something from you without your consent (ie. theft).

BitMain announces they will start mining BIP91 today:
"All our #bitcoin mining pools will start running the new #Segwit2x software today"

But why post about a toy in Bitcoin Speculation?

I genuinely want to know.
Because, along with Dutch tulips and the South Sea Company, Beanie Babies are often used as an example of an economic bubble by people ignorant of the fact that the causes of the rise and fall of the value of these assets is well understood, and was predictable (to some extent) even at the time. Furthermore, the circumstances of these cases are all very different from each other and from Bitcoin, and any decent economist would laugh at the suggestion that they're comparable.

Bah. You ruined it. I wanted OP to explain it all to me. How he is such a genius for coming up with the idea of Beanie Babies and Bitcoin...as if he is such an economic mastermind.

I am sure he would have eventually mentioned tulips too. And also thought that he was being original on that one too.

So is segwit2x looking likely?

Why are some people against it? What are the disadvantages with seg2x?

Thanks in advance.

Most don't like it because of religion.

The key is that the goal of it is to activate SegWit before August 1st with the miners. After that we can all forget it and move on.

Could you elaborate on the Beanie Babies reference? I have never heard of that before. I am genuinely curious.

I read the whole page. Fascinating! Those are some great toys.

Then we should talk about how to eliminate corruption.

Corruption is a symptom of people believing that extortion is morally acceptable.
2713  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: July 17, 2017, 04:22:12 AM
It is an unfortunate necessary evil in order for modern society to exist as it does. The income tax rate however I believe should be a flat rate for all income brackets, so we do not punish those for doing well.

Maybe modern society should not exist as it does. A society built on theft creates more problems than it fixes.
The fact is that at the expense of taxes, every state will bring it. Therefore, no country can exist without taxes. After all, we want to have social guarantees or even a good strong army that allows us to live in safety. This all needs money. Therefore, the replenishment of the state budget only at the expense of taxes. That's it about bets, that's another question. And it turns out that richer people pay less than the poorer people.

There won't be enough bitcoins at this price for everyone that sold because some people accumulated more bitcoins during this sell off.

You are just seeing a donation phase of n00bs that bought into the hype at a higher price now selling into the hype of a drop in price.

Thank you n00bs.

Prediction:

BTC1 (Segwit2x) will be released Monday for the miners to test sending the bitcoin price back above $2300.

Most would not recognize this technical analysis pattern as they are still using old tools but this is a little known pattern known by all of the experts:

Double bottom is in.

It sounds like you need to power up via Alex Jones Super Male Vitality pills in order to spot the real bottom:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCkS8RXCDUs

Alex Jones is a hack. I know for a fact that he doesn't check the sources of his news.

I was on a satire website called "The Obama Forums" where we trolled anyone and everyone who came to the site with fake threads (it was pretty obvious if you spent 5 minutes reading the ridiculous stuff we put on there. We had one thread that said "List all of the websites that are anti-Obama and we will make sure they are blocked when he is elected". We had many right wing websites including Alex Jones's page.

He eventually got wind of this and went on his radio show claiming that Obama wanted to block conservative websites including his own.

The dude is smart, I'll give him that. Scaremongering for money. Do what you gotta do I suppose.
