Are the heatsinks on the bitshopper ones held on with paste and screws or pads and screws?

Just ordered myself a couple of thermal pads and heatsinks so wanted to prepare myself for the change over.

hello,,

i am beginners for mining and i bought a gekkoscience compac usb stick BM1384.

i will try to last 3 days but in bfgminer and cgminer and any other miner don't detect my device so please tell me about first step by step to how to use this device

i don't know how to give a power to my device. so tell me hurry

Have you read the first page of this thread? What are you running the gekko on (raspi, Linux, windows)? Are you using a powered usb hub?
2706  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: ¤¤¤¤ antrun.de - Antrouter R1 Fun-Run - compare your share ¤¤¤¤ on: May 03, 2016, 10:28:22 AM
I have ordered an antrouter. What if we wanted to use it as a U3 controller, or is this antrouter only, if it is i will put only the antrouter in here! If it isn't i might add a U3 to it.

Jacob

Update it with crazyguys firmware. You can set different pools for the r1 itself and the u3 independently Wink

Hey, its working great- a strong 6.9 Gh/s for the moment! I really appriceate the walk through- i was getting burned out digging through all the pages. Hopefully this thread will help someone else out later.

Ps- Have you bothered with the 'tweaking' process?

Yea mines running 275m and getting 15.1ghs at the moment. Not going to push her any further until I get another heatsink on the back and a different power source for one of the usb splitter leads as shes hooked upto a powered hub (dlink 7port) which can only handle 2.5A. Once that's all done im going to try 300m   Shocked

No worries. Yea let us know if it works. Bare in mind the gekkos can be a bit temperamental to get started. Just unplug and plug them in again if needed. Sometimes I have to do it multiple times before she gets going on her own Wink
2709  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: GekkoScience Compac USB [ missing zlib1.dll ] on: May 02, 2016, 08:28:38 PM
You want the link that's labelled "Windows.7" NOT the tar.gz one.

You will need to uncompress it using winzip or similar.

You won't need to build your own version, just create a ".bat" file with pool info and freq settings etc.
2710  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: GekkoScience Compac USB [ missing zlib1.dll ] on: May 02, 2016, 08:24:19 PM
Where did you download your cgminer from?

I downloaded the gekko version from the thread on here. Had the same issue as you so then went to the mining software section and downloaded the official 4.9.2 from the proper thread. Obviously saved each under a different folder name. Then copied and pasted the file from 4.9.2 over to the folder with the gekko version.

I can't copy and paste the page info as I'm on my phone.

The Official cgminer thread is in the "mining software" section on the first page of the thread (which should be at the top).

The gekko version is in the "hardware" section in the gekko thread, again it's on the first page of that thread.

Download both to separate folders then copy and paste Smiley

I had this. Download the regular cgminer 4.9.2 and copy the zlib.dll from that into the folder of te cgminer without it. Should work fine then.

I had it when I downloaded the cgminer-gekko version and the copy and paste from another version of cgminer fixed it.

What are you connecting? Antminer U2's? Try the version before the "latest auto update" and see if that works.

Although I do like the green zOU I will have to kindly pass on the offer as I'd like to keep it to at least black like the one it's got already Smiley

And the green heatsink is bigger Smiley

Cheesy Cheesy that is an idea. Think I'll get a self adhesive one for a raspi and stick it on the underside. Then see what I can get it up to.

On a slightly different note. I've got my gekko hooked up to a USB splitter so draws from two ports. The powered hub is rated for 2.5a. But obviously only delivers 500ma per port according to the specs. If I was to get a 12v-5v 3A step down USB board that I can run from a PSU breakout board, would it draw power equally from the two leads or would it draw more from the side of the splitter connected to the 3a supply?

CjMapope, did yours have a green or black heatsink? Id like to stick a second one on the back of my bitshopper gecko if I can as shes now running 275m and getting 15ghs but shes a bit hot even though shes ontop of my psu fan with a nearby arctic breeze fan.

I have 6 spare green heatsinks.... since I upgraded mine...

OP you got this filled yet? I can do this today for you if you so wish.

Got something in the pipeline but time zone differences are slowing things up a bit. But I'll keep you in mind if it all goes south Wink

Ive got 10000031 but shes still alive  Wink (not sure if the serial is specific to bitshopper or across the whole gecko market). Cant get her past 250m without her throwing a wobbly and not starting up. But shes happy at that so I leave her be Smiley

Impressive to get it to hash at that without cooling   Shocked Grin

See if sidehack can do a repair for you for a btc donation  Wink

Ive got a bitshopper version of the stick and I occasionally have the same problem. I have to hotplug it sometimes upto 10 times and restart cgminer before its recognised. But once it is will happily run 250m.

Strangely enough ive found its most tempermental when its cold. Once its warmed slightly, even if you hold it in your hands, it starts up the first time the majority of the time.
