301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New Gridseed Blade Miner 5.2MHash/$3000 on: April 04, 2014, 07:53:08 PM
Oh good so I can keep ignoring them?
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW ITEM] Gridseed 5200 Kh/s ~ 6000 Kh/s G-Blade Scrypt ASIC miner on: April 04, 2014, 01:36:28 PM
Also I can get 250Mh for $10k in July so this is so dead it isn't even funny
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW ITEM] Gridseed 5200 Kh/s ~ 6000 Kh/s G-Blade Scrypt ASIC miner on: April 04, 2014, 01:06:31 PM
So if I could buy 16 Gridseed 5 chip units at $2640 and get 5Mh,
why would I pay $460 more for this thing?

I can but a lot of USB hubs and cables for $460 and still be ahead.

When it hits $1700 I am a buyer, not before.

P.S. all Altcoins are following BTC right into the toilet.

You could mine 25000 Doge coins with this everyday

250 days to break even for Dogecoin with no difficulty change.
1 year break even for litecoins with no difficulty change.

At this price this is Dead on Arrival.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 03, 2014, 07:23:18 PM
BTC goes to $10 and NO ONE can afford to mine because the difficulty is 5 billion

logical error.

if NO ONE can afford to mine, why should the difficulty stay at 5 billion?

if NO ONE can afford to mine, no one WILL mine. and if no one will mine difficulty goes down to 1.

logic ftw my friend.

And how long is that difficulty going to take to drop if it is at 5 billion and 75% off the hashrate disappears. Going to take a long time to the next retarget.

Difficulty will be at 6 billion (that's 6,000,000,000) next week.

That's a loooooooong way to fall from.

305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 03, 2014, 10:50:10 AM
The party is about over boys and girls.

BTC is $422 USD

Every week is new bad news.

Silk Road

Gox

KNC screwing you over

US makes Bitcoin Property

China

There will be new bad news every week and Bitcoin will be down to $100 in 60 days if this continues.

Question is why would you not refund every single order you have pending where ever a refund was possible?

Any other insightful predictions ya need from me?

Going to mine 24-25 BTC with your KNC Neptune? If not than you are screwed because you paid 10 grand for it.

Each bit of bad news kills BTC by $100

3 more bad stories and we are at $100

5 more stories and its over BTC will be at $10, All companies will close, bankruptcy everywhere.
Difficulty too high on a currency worth $10. Game over.

The beautiful thing is that BTC gets stronger when the price goes down after a high since it becomes less profitible to create large mining operations and that works toward better distribution of hashing.  I'm glad that the technical foundations of bitcoin are still undefeated and that sends a good message for long term growth. I always felt that a price above 600 is short term anyway. I think we all got carried away by our visions of riches. My precious...

and it is less profitable for joe schmoo to mine and when Joe Schmoo has to spend $1000 for mining gear that will never make $500 then the game is over. Folks fail to realize this whole thing can be a worthless venture for everyone overnight.

BTC goes to $10 and NO ONE can afford to mine because the difficulty is 5 billion

$1700 for 5.2 mh/s? I'd probably consider that, even though its significantly less than what you could get, but you pay a premiuim for RIGHT NOW. Recursion offers 8.6 mh/s (something like that ) from FIbo for $350 as a great example. Plus that's on a USB MODEL.

You may want to look again.

The recursion is a 3.5Mh unit for $380

So about $100 a Mh which is a decent price if they could deliver

Their biggest flaw is that you pay $380 for the 3.5mh unit if you want the 126mh unit you pay 36X that price (no discount of any kind for larger units)

250Mh from KNC for 10K
250Mh from Fib for  27K

Not hard math.

Sorry where can you get 8.6mh for $350 now?

Link please?

15 Gridseed 5 chip units can now be had for $165 each which is 5 Mh which is $2475

Why would I want to pay $550 more?

I can buy a lot of USB hubs and cables for $550

As expected the price point is off the mark.
When they are $1700 a unit I will bite.

80 chips costs $2640 if you are buying 5 chip units at $165

naw, I read it alright, and noticed it was full of puns, so I read it again... and in the first paragraph, "Bitcoin Board of Directors" is the one that hooked me...   I was thinking that was referring to the Bitcoin Foundation; obviously not.
It wouldn't matter then if the rest was smack then....
On to the day....

Did you know that the word "gullible" does not appear in the dictionary?

and i just made up the word gullibility
Webster's new international Dictionary has it...  Gullable; Man, at dawn, deprived of coffee. *footnote see Phoenix for example
Damned April fools anyway!

At least you own it!

I thought it was because i was drunk when i read the news, but BITCOIN OFFICIALLY banned china is true! Way to go bro

lol still drunk?

It's an obvious April's fools joke. xD
I've been had again, uugggh.  But they should do it anyway.
I really thought it was Christmas in April for Bitcoin.
That's what happens when you read the headlines before the first pot of coffee is brewed...  Wink

Whose "they" the CEO of Bitcoin tm ??

Geez really?

I can't access it
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 29, 2014, 12:58:28 PM
Altcoins were developed only so that people could mine on commodity hardware and it be impossible to mine on GPUs FPGAs ASICs... oh shit, why do they exist now?
Maybe it is time you take a strong look at Nxt!    Wink
No thanks, I took a long hard look at bitcoin and liked what I saw and still like it today.
You were discussing Altcoins if I am not mistaken...    Undecided

Not really, I was dissing them.

Regardless...  there is an answer to your question...    Roll Eyes
I hate to be pedantic but I wasn't... oh forget it Tongue

Hence the drop of GPU support after 3.8. I agree alts are a side show, like clowns. IMHO they're only good for pump n dumps to make more btc Smiley

Bitcoins are to dollars as altcoins are to dimes.

When I have enough dimes.........

You can call them clowns all you want but I make my kids tuition payments with the altcoins I mine.

Bitcoins too, just for the record.

Just remember there are many altcoins that are 4000% more profitable than Bitcoins and at least TWICE as stable.

Everytime China farts BTC crashes.
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HELP! Stuck building a rig with H81 Pro BTC and 6x R9 290 on: March 28, 2014, 03:55:48 PM
I have exactly what you have

Differences:

Windows 7

Only 3 R9 290s

EVGA 1000 Watt PSU

Everything worked right out of the box, zero problems.

Try one power supply, Windows 7 Pro and 3 boards and try and get that working first.

The Litecoin arms race begins  Grin

No no no, no arms race,
Litecoin is just a fad, as are all Alt Coins.

Bitcoin is where it is at. Focus on that and just ignore the other coins, they are just Bitcoin Wannabes.

I mean what could you do with a measly 650Mh? We bitcoiners are doing TERAHASH stuff.

RIGHT?!?!
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 28, 2014, 02:11:48 PM
The new Titan spec is crazy.  250 MH/s for $10k running on a 1000 watt power supply.   The entire LTC network is around 650 Titans (Current = 162,995 MH/s).     This is really going to send shock waves through the smaller coins.    I'm still holding 1 Neptune order and do not have a titan order as the original spec of 100 MH/s was not worth it to me.  While the new spec is tempting,  I decided to just buy 1000 more LTC and HODL!   Will be very interesting how this turns out,   will the new scrypt asic's push all supported alt coins to a higher level or wipe many of them out?   Some warned about this since building a scrypt asic cost much more than building a sha256 asic that the centralization will be much worse on the LTC side.   Right now that is looking true with Alpha and KNC holding the network in their hands if they can produce the machines at or above the current released specs.  Remember Avalon holding double the hash rate in a small batch of chips...    this isn't far off for all scrypt coins but is there a different feeling in the air?   Has greed taken over?   I can't say since I really don't know the guys at either company but I would hope not.   None of us know if they really are working their asses off to push virtual currencies to the masses or building their own fortunes in fiat.

Wish everyone well in 2014 and remember to not panic.   Today we are at $500 BTC / $14 LTC and the future is looking bright.

Except in 50 minutes Alpha Tech will start taking orders on their 650Mh unit:

We say this as we anticipate by the time competition’s product is released our next batch will be due shortly ensuring we can again stay one step ahead. At this point we would like to guarantee a minimum of 650 Mh/s for our second batch, this figure is just a preliminary minimum and it is more likely than not to be higher.

You guys stick with Bitcoin. Smiley

So now they provide an update on Titan, but crickets regarding Neptune:

https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-80

Yeah, lend them $10k now and then get delivery in December. Maybe.

J

I will bet you 100 Bitcoins, KnC will ship Titan before December 2014.  Would like to retract your ridiculous statement now?

Retract the statement but DO NOT take that bet!~
320  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: is technotbit a scam ?? on: March 26, 2014, 07:04:38 PM
In my opinion and from what I have read of others feedback,

When you buy something from Technobit you have:

0% chance of receiving it in less than a month
10% chance of receiving it in 2 months
70% chance of receiving it in 3 months
20% chance of getting ripped off completely.

Technobit seems to have very poor communication, very poor response time, terrible tech support.

I was robbed of BTC1.34 since October of 2013 the owner of Technobit ran several shady group buys which you can read about in his TRUST ranking here.

First thing you should do is make a negative entry to Martos trust and then hit all his selling threads with demand for refund until you get it.

I would keep this thread updated weekly with your results

Good luck on dealing with this guy.
