301  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is COVID-19 cure possible? on: August 06, 2021, 07:02:11 PM
A medicine for Covid19 that reduces the harmful effects of the virus on our immune system would be a good solution to prevent its spread as you mentioned @Mauser.

But we must not forget that to avoid contagion we must become aware of taking care of ourselves through the use of biosafety protocols at work, school and anywhere else and stay at home.

It is a routine that can be difficult because we need to leave home to go to work and go shopping because it is a basic necessity.

I am providing prevention support through Facebook pages and also in my work to maintain the information in order to instill a habit without stressing the group with the best sensitivity.
302  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you been grateful for today? on: August 06, 2021, 05:16:55 AM
The same thing happens to me as OP. Every day I feel grateful with my trading activities and if it is in the P2P exchange even better. Because both my peer and I are benefiting from cryptocurrencies.

Before participating in the crypto space, I had not felt anything like that, my job was monotonous, I followed the same pace as I did accounting jobs.

Although I saw the term of buy and sell, the feeling is not the same, I love my life in crypto because it provides me with solutions and because I am also supporting the development of digital finance with cryptocurrencies.
303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What hatred do people have for Bitcoin? on: August 06, 2021, 04:59:14 AM
It only occurs to me that anti-Bitcoin people are people who know the past of bitcoin in its beginnings when people exchanged it for drugs and using that truth they have woven endless exaggerated arguments such as that bitcoin is being used by drug traffickers and criminals.

Using these alleged cases, anti-Bitcoin movements have been created in communities such as Reddit as you say with the sole purpose of misinforming the public.

Also the digital media have served as a platform for these people with power to follow and discredit bitcoin. As is stated in the following article:

Quote
Bitcoin is a virtual currency that emerged in the aftermath of the financial crisis. It allows people to bypass banks and traditional payment processes to pay for goods and services. Banks and other financial institutions have been concerned about bitcoin’s early associations with money laundering and online crime, and it has not been adopted by any government.

304  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Olympics is a disaster on: August 05, 2021, 11:32:13 PM
I feel your concern about Covid19 and the new variants that have emerged. Many of us are fearful of the Delta variant.
But I think the organizers had to study the conditions to be able to hold the Tokyo Olympics.
The security measures and their protocols to avoid contagion were taken. If the conditions were correct, humanity cannot be in a bubble, it has to come into contact with the virus and be protected so that they can respond with their immune systems.

My thinking is on the side of science, our best weapon against Covid19 is to follow biosecurity protocols and vaccination because there is no hope that the virus will be eradicated soon.

I only wish that the celebration of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics was not a mistake due to all the fears that may arise.

305  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you a healthy unvaccinated person? on: August 04, 2021, 11:46:23 PM
I live in Venezuela, I stay healthy as much as I can. I follow the health controls strictly, I have not yet been vaccinated.
According to Our World in Data, from the University of Oxford, my country among those in Latin America is the one that has vaccinated the population the least due to several factors, but the lack of coordination is what I think is the cause.
In the country, the vaccines Sinopharm (China), Sputnik V (Russia) and Abdala (Cuba) are being administered to immunize the Venezuelan population.
I can share the experience of my sister who lives in another state far from where I reside that she received the Sinopharm vaccine and the effects that she received were very mild.
306  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid lessons learned know when to finish on: August 04, 2021, 10:57:29 PM
In my country, Venezuela, many companies have also closed and one in which I can give my first-hand testimony. It is a car sales agency of the recognized brand Chevrolet that closed its doors in my city and all the other chain of branches are in the process of closing. Automotive agencies since before the pandemic were already showing difficulties to operate in the country. It is not surprising that the pandemic accelerated this process due to the negative effects on their economies that they could receive.

As well as this case there have been more in my city for which unemployed people have been in the task of starting a business on their own. As happened to a relative who sells clothing from his home in order to generate new income.

Fortunately, social networks are helping small entrepreneurs by allowing them to create advertising and get their products to the consumer, one of the most popular are WhatsApp and Facebook.
307  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a speculative asset or as currency on: August 04, 2021, 10:09:42 PM
Bitcoin is no longer a speculative asset as described by governments that have banned it, such as China, India, among others, in order to convince their population not to trust it.
But as large, recognized institutions and entrepreneurs have invested in bitcoin, they have broken that paradigm. There are advantages to investing in bitcoin and they cannot be covered with a finger, it represents the backing of the investments.

Undoubtedly those who are investing large amounts of money in bitcoin know that it is a store of value.
Bitcoin is disrupting money and the way to a great ecosystem that has been created with cryptocurrencies, better finances are being created every day thanks to this change in technologies.
308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 01, 2021, 11:00:19 PM
Women's Triple Jump, just witnessed a new world record held by Yulimar Rojar from Venezuela with a 15.67 meter jump.

In the mens high jump we have a shared gold medal by Mutaz Essa Barshim og Qatar and Gianmarco Tamberi of Italy both refused to fight it out, history made here.

Now the 100 meter men's final is up, are we going to witness sporting greatness in all its glory. My money is on the south African to win this one...

False start for Zharnel Huges of Great Britain 🇬🇧 Disqualified

That's right, the Venezuelan making history, she is very effusive, she asked the public for applause to motivate herself, in fact, she shows that it is very easy, on the third attempt was when she imposed the WR:

It was no surprise that Venezuela's Yulimar Rojas won the gold in the women's triple jump final and set a new world record of 15.67 in the bargain. She was followed to the podium by Patricia Mamona of Portugal and Spain's Ana Peleteiro.
Source: https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/en/news/venezuela-s-rojas-takes-gold-and-breaks-world-record-in-the-women-s-triple-jump-

The athlete had always fought to be on an Olympic podium, in Rio she won the Gold medal, this Olympiad is historic for her as it is for the Country.

In Venezuela 🇻🇪 we are happy and proud for the triumph of Yulimar Rojas to achieve the gold medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and that she has also broken a new world record in her attempt in the triple jump reaching 15.67 meters.
She is an exceptional athlete. Last year she was chosen as the female athlete of the year for her high performance.

As a curious fact and why it is important to focus on pursuing dreams and giving our best when we set out to do something.

She has been lucky! In 2015 and thanks to the Facebook algorithm that it uses to recommend friendship, Yulimar received the friendship recommendation of Iván Pedroso, the Cuban multi-time long jump champion. She didn't think twice and sent him the friend request and wrote him a message saying everything that she admired him and that she wanted him to be her coach.
She thought that she would not receive an answer from him but fortunately he responded by showing his interest given her potential and invited her to train in Spain and it was the best thing that could have happened to her because thanks to the training and her great skills this Venezuelan woman has done history.

Ivan Pedroso is also the coach of the bronze medalist Ana Peletero of Spain.

309  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and happiness. on: July 31, 2021, 11:37:05 PM
I have always thought that I could be happier if I can actually buy all the things that my home is missing.
Months ago I felt very stressed because I needed to work more because I had a sick aunt and I assumed the expenses.
After that moment I was filled with happiness because she recovered her health remarkably.
Now I have matured more and I feel that happiness is earned every time we feel healthy because I learned to value well-being in itself.
Money makes us happy because it takes away the worry of meeting our needs, but we perceive true happiness from the first moment in each awakening.
310  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial freedom and success comes from knowledge on: July 31, 2021, 11:19:26 PM
Financial freedom will depend on how much you prepared in life.
Obviously, you need the knowledge and skills to do a job, art, sport etc.
If we talk about cryptocurrencies, you must know how to invest and take into account all the risks.
Constancy is a virtue, you cannot lose your prospects, properly managing your finances will allow you and your family a good future.
With the knowledge that you will be contributing to the economy of your country. It is a situation that we all want and we do everything possible so that our generation does it even better.
311  Economy / Economics / Re: If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, do you still choose fiat currency? on: July 31, 2021, 08:03:30 PM
I did not know about Bitwage. It is a platform based in San Francisco according to his Twitter account created since 2014.
I would answer taking two criteria into account.
1. Yes, I would accept payment of my salary in bitcoin. Although I know about cryptocurrencies, I am also thinking of people who do not know about bitcoin and that this step we are taking is to include it throughout the world for the advantages it will provide in the economy.
2. Once we achieve massive adoption, usability problems will be solved either with the Lightning network or any other solution.
312  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role of Government in Crypto on: July 31, 2021, 07:06:45 PM
Bitcoin is a support for economies especially in countries with economic instability and inflation. But governments see it as a threat to their legal tender. They prefer to print paper money and ignore the innovation that bitcoin can bring. It is no secret to anyone that governments have a system with a problem that affects its operation and that is corruption.

Bitcoin can solve it but there is the dilemma so that the implementation is the most appropriate in their economies, they must change the system and adapt it. There must be consensus in the population and adapt the nation to introduce bitcoin. We are waiting for how the country of El Salvador will make bitcoin work in its economy.
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin worth so much? on: July 31, 2021, 05:43:12 PM
I never asked myself the question that OP asked about bitcoin. Because it is logical to think that bitcoin was the one who gave rise to all those cryptocurrencies that are better because they have more use cases.

However bitcoin deserves the position and credibility that it currently possesses and will be forever. The reasons have been evident there is support by all who contribute in the permanence of bitcoin a dominance 46.4% is an important number.

We cannot live in the crypto space without bitcoin, there are those who believe it and others do not, there lies the freedom in making us free to choose.
314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper money vs Digital currency on: July 31, 2021, 05:04:30 PM
The population is misinformed because governments are not open to these technological advances because they know that centralization is not involved. Government entities and banks do not have control over bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and that is why they do not agree to make them participate in their economies.
It is a wrong idea, we know it, we have advanced a little proving that technology can work in its contribution to the economy.
I think it is on our side to teach from our environment (family and friends) to learn to participate in the world of cryptocurrencies.
I am starting in the simplest way with the empowerment of my relatives because they do not have a phone and it is a basic tool to start with crypto.
My plan is to help buy a phone for each of them who are four relatives and that they can enter the world of cryptocurrencies.
315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin losing its importance on: July 31, 2021, 07:45:52 AM
Bitcoin needed to have good news in those days to stimulate the market. I remember that at that time the bitcoin mining businesses were receiving a negative bombardment from China in relation to their exit.
The price of bitcoin fell due to the migratory process of the miners.

A bit to change the gloomy atmosphere that was drawing and not to lose confidence towards bitcoin I think that the conference organized by Jack and others was timely for Elon Musk to talk about his position in relation to Tesla and his bitcoin investment, it is not because nothing but Tesla being the second company to own 43,200 bitcoin.

In my opinion, the virtual conference The B Word was key to change the course of things in bitcoin and what was gained was the confidence of investors to continue advancing in implementing the technology.

316  Economy / Economics / Re: Which area will develop after the epidemic? on: July 30, 2021, 11:42:26 PM
I think that the area of health, food, ecommerce, internet will have more development. Because the pandemic that is not over has allowed us to focus on the basics, virtual classes, conferences, work from home. We have not completely returned to normality. About weapons of war and that series of things I have no idea, my whole world changed to virtual space, I have noticed the shortage of many items in my favorite stores but it is understandable since the pandemic has prevented the transport of them.
317  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it easier to HODL if you are already rich? on: July 30, 2021, 11:23:44 PM
OP's example is clear evidence of someone who has lost faith in bitcoin or were new investors. Because anyone who has invested in bitcoin and had hold in at least a year does not sell it. It could also be the case that the couple needed the money.

Every day we realize that we need bitcoin, I maintain that conviction, even though I invest in another coin, I support bitcoin because together we contribute so that more people do not lose faith or others also believe in it.
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's holding back Amazon & eBay from adopting Bitcoin? on: July 30, 2021, 11:08:56 PM
I think it will happen soon. Amazon, Ebay and most of the ecommerce companies need to adapt to the new times. When I visit these sites I can realize that even the design of their pages need a touch-up, it shows that the years have passed.
Amazon's job position exists and is a latent need for the company.
Amazon is a giant that innovated in its time, now it is in its best moment to give way to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and we are still not talking about the NFT and Play to Earn market that are dazzling many.
319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting paid in Bitcoin vs getting paid in Fiat on: July 30, 2021, 10:45:21 PM
Of course the payment in bitcoin for salaries.
That simple can be. An example: If in an office job you usually receive $ 1000 a month. Your boss may offer you payment of your salary in bitcoin. That would be the equivalent in bitcoin at the time he decides to make the transaction. I would accept the agreement immediately if it were my case.

The world is changing in relation to how money is moving.
I was surprised a 12 year old boy in London wins $ 160,000 in an NFT collection.
Last year we talked about the impact of DeFi but this year NFT is a boom where the youngest are entering. As a paradox even the IMF has a discrepancy towards bitcoin, if institutions like these do not accept the changes I think it will be on our part that we will take the initiative.

320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon Bitcoin Poll on: July 30, 2021, 07:59:39 PM
I remain optimistic as the writer of this article at Bloomberg.
It is logical that Amazon wants to know how the adaptation of the platform will occur to accept bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. So an official announcement will not occur until the incorporation works perfectly. There are those who go ahead but in this case, since it is about bitcoin, which is a very speculative asset that is managed by the crypto market, it seems that it does not like to create expectations, it is better to move towards the facts is my point of view.

Quote
Could it happen? There are plenty of reasons Amazon would want to expand into cryptocurrencies. Right now, there's more than $ 1.55 trillion held in various digital currencies, some of it just waiting to be exchanged for products.
