401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and pension fund on: July 01, 2021, 04:02:53 AM
I share the same idea that some of you have. When investing in bitcoin in most cases we think of a long-term investment. In particular, I have decided to save in bitcoin to pay for the University of my nephew and niece who are now minors.

In addition, I am also thinking about my old age, saving is very important, I myself am experiencing it with my grandmother. In my country, pensioners receive very little money for a plan designed by the government, so I have had to help my mother with my grandmother's expenses.

Fortunately, she is very healthy and there are other relatives who help her to support her.
In view of this, I have also decided to save in bitcoin and crypto for when I get those golden years I know how to handle them and of course it would also be of help to my mother.
402  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and middle class as a mentality on: June 30, 2021, 12:11:05 AM
OP, thanks for this thread. After reading your thoughts. A project came to mind that has become a reality and that has spread to at least 70 countries under the same essence, the education of children and young people through music. The education that is imparted is free by which poor children and even those who are in danger in the world of drugs, they can access it and join an orchestra. I'm talking about El Sistema founded by José Antonio Abreu Anselmi 05/07/93 - 03/24/18 (Venezuela).

Quote
El Sistema (which translates to The System) is a publicly financed, voluntary sector, music-education program, founded in Venezuela in 1975 by Venezuelan educator, musician, and activist José Antonio Abreu. It later adopted the motto "Music for Social Change." El Sistema-inspired programs provide what the International Journal of Applied Psychoanalytic Studies describes as "free classical music education that promotes human opportunity and development for impoverished children."

I know that there are many programs like this and with different missions, but we need more action from society to eradicate poverty.
403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can play tricks on your mind on: June 28, 2021, 10:14:31 PM
From the first time I bought bitcoin I felt very special. Maybe it was due to the fact that I was getting started in the crypto space and felt like many of you, the magic of digital money. Then came the learning that comes with being a bitcoiner and the patience to stay hodl.
As in my mind it is already programmed to see the future of bitcoin, I am not worried about its falls. My feeling is positive when I see how strong bitcoin can be from looking at it to zero, I don't think it's possible.
404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Beach project in El Salvador on: June 26, 2021, 11:55:42 PM
El Salvador will probably be successful tourist destinations will be created throughout the nation. I see a great future in the nation even though there is a Salvadoran opposition that does not want the Bitcoin Law.

Take a look at this investor as he visits a restaurant called Pampa in El Salvador.

405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks to allow customers the option of hodling, selling and buying bitcoin on: June 26, 2021, 11:15:44 PM
It might sound like a terrible idea because it takes us away from decentralization but on the other hand I think that people are already convinced that the US dollar is losing value. Americans are interested in investing in bitcoin trusting their banks, otherwise these solutions would not exist.

A common investor in bitcoin could buy bitcoin in Coinbase, Kraken, Geminis among others but an Institution or a wealthy person would be a risk to invest in these platforms for their security, they need services, privacy, and investment strategies.

406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will never be gone on: June 26, 2021, 09:59:35 PM
I have always thought that bitcoin will last forever.
There are banks that are bitcoin friendly, as the following blog article reviews.
If we observe how our P2P activities are, we can realize that banks are silently creating liquidity in bitcoin because we have adopted it before our own governments.

The adoption will not be quick, it will take time, at least we have an example such as the country of the Republic of El Salvador. I have taken a look at the account of President Nayib Bukele, he and the account of the Presidential house of El Salvador is teaching people what the bitcoin law is. We are all waiting for the success of bitcoin in this country.

407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is legal tender in your country, would you really spend it instead of on: June 26, 2021, 09:29:43 PM
If you have not noticed there are two threads that raise the same idea.
I'm going to give my opinion in this thread. I would probably not spend my bitcoin, instead I would spend my FIAT.
Thanks to Bitcoin I learned what saving is. IMO when bitcoin is accepted in many countries there will also be fiat to spend. Somewhere I read that bitcoin needs FIAT for more liquidity.
On the other hand, if I do not have more monetary resources, I would have to make use of bitcoin.
408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two brothers have disappeared with $3.6 billion worth of Bitcoin on: June 26, 2021, 09:13:32 PM
69,000 bitcoins is a huge scam that will remain in the minds of these South African investors.
The creators of the project are very young and it occurred to investors to invest in a coin with little support.
It is a sadness for affected investors, I hope it is clear that
that the scammers were these guys because bitcoin has misconceptions about scam.
If there is a thorough investigation, they could arrest the guilty and make them pay for their crime.
409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador started BTC campaign in their country on: June 26, 2021, 12:04:12 AM
I agree OP. Chivo Wallet will be available in September when El Salvador's Bitcoin law takes effect. The Bitcoin airdrop is like a form of Marketing campaign to promote the wallet and for Salvadoran citizens to become familiar with the app. It is incredible how President Nayib Bukele has found things to think about bitcoin for his country.

Take a look at this Tweet, he created this tweet on July 7, 2017 mentioning the Central Bank of El Salvador

410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some millionaires hate Bitcoin? on: June 25, 2021, 11:21:02 PM
Amazon has not accepted Paypal as a means of payment, it only supports credit cards.
IMO when Jeff Bezos created Amazon as a new business model in his time that led him to innovation. Accepting bitcoin on Amazon is like minimizing the company for the great euphoria it can cause. It is like a solid brand that does not need another element as well as it can happen with Apple.
That is the reason in my opinion that large brands led by Billionaires do not accept bitcoin.
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China FUD on: June 25, 2021, 09:26:20 PM
I agree with this opinion because despite the fact that China is crackdown on bitcoin mining it is positive because mining companies will have the advantage of operating with better conditions taking into account what interests us in that the extraction is friendly to the ecosystem and there are no irregularities. I would love for bitcoin mining companies to move to the United States.

Quote
“I think it's actually fantastic news for the Bitcoin ecosystem,” Peter Smith, Blockchain.com co-founder and CEO, told Yahoo Finance Live. “You're going to see a diversification of mining operations around the world. We've been seeing that trend over the last two years, as large mines are built in Europe, the U.S., and a variety of other geographic locations — but that trend is going to accelerate hard now. ”

412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After 1.5 hours, I only only got 9 confirmations. What a turtle! on: June 25, 2021, 08:41:17 PM
When I was a beginner I had these concerns but everything changed after I made several transactions. I am also concerned about the observation that 7788bitcoin made. If I were OP I would use a Top exchange platform that Coinmarketcap or Coingecko review, my preferred platform is Binance for all my coins including FIAT in their Binance P2P.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you be doing if there was no bitcoin? on: June 25, 2021, 08:29:34 PM
Congratulations OP on your progress! Your achievements are reflected in each one of us. Bitcoin gave us the freedom we have long wanted. It is a pity that there is still so much meanness in the world that they limit the world's population and especially the most vulnerable.
There are still rulers who oppress their citizens violating the right to choose and feel free.
Without bitcoin I would also be working in an office earning an income that barely covered my needs.
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you worry about not being able to convert BTC to fiat in future on: June 25, 2021, 12:58:41 PM
I think that the future of bitcoin in relation to daily transactions is the Lightning Network. Jack Mallers, the developer of the bitcoin wallet for El Salvador, uses the Lightning Network in his apps. He is now developing the Chivo Wallet adapted to the needs of Salvadorans.
If even in your country there are no businesses or people that accept bitcoin, you can make use of what you need for your daily needs and exchange it on the P2P platforms of your choice. I use Binance P2P every time I need Fiat but I exchange BNB because there are no fees.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee is dead, are his coins lost? on: June 25, 2021, 05:35:09 AM
I was very sad to learn of McAfee's death. I honestly did not expect it. I have been reading the tweets of him in some of them he showed deep sadness.
I also remember that the defense at some point asked the authorities to take his age into consideration so that he was released. There was no success and now McAffe is dead.
In this tweet posted he was claiming that he had no hidden crypto.

RIP John McAffe

The US believes I have hidden crypto. I wish I did but it has dissolved through the many hands of Team McAfee (your belief is not required), and my remaining assets are all seized. My friends evaporated through fear of association.

I have nothing.

Yet, I regret nothing.

416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is China a fool? on: June 23, 2021, 07:53:01 AM
China is betting on the digital Yuan and does not want to have competition with bitcoin.

Chinese bitcoin miners will have to leave the country and install their mining centers in other countries. One of the possible places that has been heard a lot is Texas.

Quote
With China's crackdown on the crypto mining industry, companies are looking to migrate elsewhere. Along with Kazakhstan, BIT Mining has also invested $ 25 million in a new mining center in Texas.

417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Michael Saylor owns 0,5% of Bitcoin Supply on: June 23, 2021, 07:40:10 AM
I don't see a problem with Michael Saylor buying more bitcoin, on the contrary all the bitcoin he buys will not be sold for long.

The bitcoin of the institutions allowed its price not to fall even more.
Let's keep calm just like him.
And let's enjoy making history and the market is recovering again.

Probably not true, but I just heard @michael_saylor is Satoshi. 😎

I heard @CoinMarketCap will start to rank countries that accept #crypto as legal tender. 👍

418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some words of encouragement during this market crash on: June 21, 2021, 11:56:14 PM
I have noticed that the picture is drawn like this. China is not interested in bitcoin now its plan is to launch the digital Yuan as the First CBDC in the world so it does not want any competition.
It is bad news for crypto enthusiasts in China who are a large community that live with so many impositions that they shorten their freedom in choosing to invest in bitcoin.

On the other hand, it is a great opportunity for other nations to embrace bitcoin and build more cryptomining around the world and free ourselves from the power of China.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dumps to $32K as China’s Bank Announced a Ban on Crypto Usage on: June 21, 2021, 11:05:57 PM
Okay! You guys are the best, each one of you has a very optimistic view of the current situation. Being a bitcoiner is definitely not for everyone. But the continued ban of China is a stone in the shoe, I worry that more than half of cryptomining is in China.

Quote
https://www.reuters.com/technology/chinas-central-bank-urges-financial-institutions-crack-down-cryptocurrencies-2021-06-21/

Cryptomining is a big business in China, which accounts for over half of global bitcoin production.

China has also blocked a slew of cryptocurrency-related social media accounts, and barred the search for major cryptocurrency exchanges such as Binance and Huobi on baidu.com and Twitter-like platform Weibo.

Although this would be the best thing that could happen to bitcoin that crypto miners have a great exodus to friendly crypto countries as well as that activities can be carried out more environmentally conscious.

Quote
Texas is an ideal destination for miners, thanks to its abundance of solar and wind power, its unregulated market, and its crypto-friendly political stance.

420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I think Bitcoin is great as an asset and not as a Currency. on: June 19, 2021, 11:37:18 PM
I am thinking, imagining myself to be a merchant who is accepting crypto assets in one of these countries in Latin America that will begin to accept cryptocurrencies in his commercial establishment.

First, the risks of volatility are my own, as are the risks we all take.
I have the option of exchanging (bitcoin, ether, shiba, etc) any percentage to fiat for my business expenses, I can exchange a percentage in stablecoins or any other cryptocurrency.
With the bitcoin received for my merchandise I hold it to open another branch as a long-term investment.
The adoption of cryptocurrencies is freedom.
