301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge - such Community coin | no premine | very fast | much profit on: June 22, 2015, 02:49:18 PM
The only dead time there will be is if you have your wallet shut down.  The coins do not have to age another 8 hours so staking will continue uninterrupted.  The new wallets will be released very soon so everyone will have plenty of time to upgrade (it only takes a few seconds).

The new reward structure will kick in smoothly at block 145,000.  The reason for the specific time of the hard fork is not only due to changing the block rewards but also the block time.  The new block time of 90 seconds will take effect at the moment of the hard fork.

I hope this makes sense.

Regarding needing to wait 8 hours again: I thought user litedoge said
No "dead space" - once wallet upgraded after the fork you can stake (after 8 hours)

If coins don't need to go through the maturing time-out again then this doesn't sound as bad as I made it sound. Sorry, just trying to understand ahead of time. This does make more sense. Cheers.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: June 22, 2015, 02:39:59 PM
Guys,

I have a 138k block that is now more than 19 days old... And the wallet is still claiming to need an extra day to produce any stake!

Is this normal? Is the difficulty so high that a block this size has to wait so many days to produce a stake?

Once the coins are mature isn't the block part of a pool of mature blocks that randomly stake? So it's not uncommon for a super large block to not stake exactly at 8.8 days or so. 19 days seems pretty unlucky however. I'd ignore the 1 day remaining, is that even really accurate?
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge - such Community coin | no premine | very fast | much profit on: June 22, 2015, 12:57:46 PM

Please clarify:
  • We can't upgrade prior to hard fork deadline?
  • If we install update prior to hard fork nothing will work?
  • Will there be "dead space" directly following hard fork if nobody is allowed to upgrade and nothing will work until the deadline is hit?

As it has been explained to me:

No upgrade before deadline is allowed - turn off all wallets/staking just before forking.

No "dead space" - once wallet upgraded after the fork you can stake (after 8 hours)

New reward structure kicks in a few days later. From what I'm led to believe the block that will trigger the reward change we should find 10 days after the fork... Hope that helps

See: Forum: http://litedoge.org/forum/ for updates.

Don't forget, the rate of inflation will decrease immediately even before the new block reward structure takes effect at block 145,000.  By increasing the block time from 64 seconds to 90 seconds means that at precisely 2015-06-29 @ 13:00:00 UTC, the number of coins being minted will be reduced by almost 30% per day.  That alone is significant!

I love the changes I just think this is the most ass-backwards hard fork I've ever been a part of. For the record, there will be "dead space". Roughly 8 hours of exactly 0 blocks being found because nobody's coins will be mature. Then the early birds (folks lucky enough to be at their computers at the start time of the mandatory upgrade) will essentially be instamining all the blocks while the rest of the community slowly get up to speed as their late coins mature. This is not ideal guys.

Every hard fork I've ever been a part of gets worked into a new updated client, it gets distributed to exchanges, vendors and users and everyone has days to be prepared for the new protocol to kick in. Zero downtime (dead space) for majority of nodes. The hardfork happens at a predetermined block # and everything works fine after that block.

To me this seems like an updating process that a coin would do if they were renaming their coin or something. Brand new client but old coins still work. This may be totally due to the reward system tweaks and this is the only way to implement it, I don't know. I also haven't been part of a coin that changes it's rewards (essentially terms and conditions) mid way through the reward process. So it must be a bigger deal than I've come across before.

I'm just going to need to be available to upgrade the client at the exact time it is released. Please make as many updates as possible for all of us regarding d-day so we can clear our schedules. This will definitely be a HARD fork.

What is happening with securing large contracts? We have been waiting and waiting with all these little accounts.
You are the mass marketer with two hundred thousand reach and the 1 billion dollar man but you cant lock down a ten thousand dollar contract in the crypto world where ico's raise thirty plus thousand in a few days regularly.

You are doing something wrong. I will hold a bit longer but then I will sell.

Realistically who is going to spend 10g's on a twitter campaign to 300k followers mostly within the crypto world that are already in the know of most projects out there?

Not to mention the marketcap for VIRAL is ~80% of 90k att (~20% coins already burned) so $72,000. A 10k contract would wipe out another 14% of the coins in one swoop.

Small campaigns are the way to go imho, to grow the nodebase, userbase and clientbase. The large contracts can come when/if the marketcap goes to a level that will support it. Let's not burn all the fuel on take off!

New Wallet Release Information:

NOTICE: Hard fork will occur at precisely 2015-06-29 - 13:00:00 UTC.

New wallet will be released prior to that time and is a mandatory update to implement the new block reward structure.

New block times (90 seconds instead of the existing 64 seconds) will be effective at that time to immediately reduce the number of coins being minted per day.  The new reward structure begins at block 145,000 (approximately 6 days after hard fork).

New LiteDoge (LDOGE) Block Reward Structure:
....
Please stay tuned for further information and a link when it is available to download the new wallet.

Thank you!

Have you given notice to any exchanges yet? We don't want them to stay on the old chain.

The exchanges will be notified as soon as possible.  We are still finalizing the "Master" build so it is no longer a beta and will get them the download links once that is completed.

I would expect on 29 June that the exchanges will probably be in maintenance mode until after they have completed the update.  They cannot install the new wallet before then or they won't connect to the network.  That is one of the reasons that particular time/date was chosen in the first place is so they are available at that time to make the changes.  Same goes with everyone else.  We'll make the download available before then, but if anyone actually installs it... nothing will happen as they won't connect.  Obviously, anyone who does not install the new wallet after that time/date will be on the wrong fork.

Please clarify:
  • We can't upgrade prior to hard fork deadline?
  • If we install update prior to hard fork nothing will work?
  • Will there be "dead space" directly following hard fork if nobody is allowed to upgrade and nothing will work until the deadline is hit?

Decent amount of buying going on, back near 10k again.  Sorry dumpers.

This may be one of the reason for recent buyup

Very interested in promoting two different items with your 10btc package, so total 20btc. I just have a question about if they would both be promoted within the same 7 day period or would they get promoted in a unique manner? Also by the way, I just bid on the auction as well to get things started for a third product I want to promote.

Keep the great work going, been watching this brilliant project since day one and I must say, you have really brought much needed change to crypto.

So if this deal goes through 20 BTC worth of Viral would be bought up and burn and that may push the price above 30K in no time

and also for current auction min bid has already reached 1.4BTC with 1 more day left so we may expect it to be atleast around 1.8BTC

All the volume on trex is due to this atm. Be careful, this is just words so far. And MiningAtlas is an investor (see history) so manipulation could be going on.

20 BTC package would be awesome for coin reduction! That'd be around 10% more burning of the already ~19% of total supply burned to date. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/viral/#!rich (top address).

Last 24 hours we saw a big rise in altcoins listed at btc38. as we all know, SDC is not listed there. China being the biggest crypto-country worldwide, it looks important to me have the upcoming shadowmarket also available in chinese. Is there any news wheater it will be abvailable in chinese?

Hyperstake still survive....and still alive and valuable
Hyperstake is getting stronger and stronger, but does it surprise you? It has one of the best Dev in Crypto.

I would have to agree as well, great at coding AND an awesome guy. Most people good at coding tend to have bad people skillz lol

310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: June 16, 2015, 08:35:24 PM
I think we hit the point where the general market feels we hit the bottom. All coins are now correcting for their insane lows Smiley LTC included, it should have never gone below 0.1, though it is rising a bit too fast (large jumps), I think it will correct..

Traders on the asian exchanges traditionally have AFS (Acute FOMO Syndrome). Large jumps are symptoms.

Turbo Stake is more original than any of this shit cloned into SDC.

Is it more original than your name too?

314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | ShadowMarket* | update v1.3.2.4 on: June 16, 2015, 01:13:59 PM
To make SDC and SDT really big, I would suggest to make ónly these currencies possible for transactions on the shadowmarket. Most optimal would be to built, some kind of easily to use exchange market; SDC/BTC based on bittrex prices. In this situation all people holding BTC can do quickly business in SDC. The next step might be to start a localSDC-site, so that people also easily can change there SDC for cash in their neighborhood.

Judging by the Market Q&A, both SDC and SDT will be the currencies supported.

After all the hype, OpenBazaar has gone legit. I guess its the new ebay  Roll Eyes

http://www.coindesk.com/openbazaar-raises-1-million-from-silicon-valley-giants/

Interesting quotes from article
Quote
Those backing the project say they don't support the utilization of the technology for illegal trade, a use case cited by some who see OpenBazaar as a way for dark web markets to flourish without any centralized points of failure. Sellers could use the peer-to-peer nature of OpenBazaar to trade directly instead of through a centrally controlled marketplace, thereby avoiding the kinds of operational weaknesses that ultimately led to the downfall of Silk Road.

Burnham acknowledged that the protocol could be used by dark market operators, but stressed the OpenBazaar developers have no interest in supporting such use cases.

Most telling:
Quote
“They certainly won’t be in the business of providing enhanced services to marketplaces that are selling illegal goods,” he noted.

Like the rare earth element it is named after, the Cerium crypto currency is small in supply and aims to be a something the world depends on. Cerium hopes to introduce an efficient payment method which will eventually be adopted by the masses.
