301  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why Did Jesus Fast for 40 Days and 40 Nights? on: June 14, 2023, 09:08:03 AM
It has never been clear to my how or why Jesus, who is God, prays to God. I'm referring to the concept of the Trinity, which was formulated by the Church after the Bible was written. In this story, the Trinity must be a metaphor, but it is not.

Over there they are ONE or Single Entity. It's hard to see any difference.. The best way to understand this is to picture a human body, it's a unit made of different parts. The Head is the FATHER, the next to the Head is the SON, the blood is the Holy Spirit... then there are other parts which you could call the angels. They all act as One but the FATHER is the KING of all who they all pray to. JESUS is the Prince and next to the throne of our FATHER. HE is greater than the rest after the FATHER. When you see JESUS you have seen the FATHER... HE is the KING too and the Son of the FATHER, the FATHER is in HIM forming a single entity called JESUS, and all things were made through HIM.
302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We shall separate commercial exchanges from investment exchanges on: June 13, 2023, 06:37:48 PM
If regulation is your main reason for wanting this seperation then I will suggest you align it with what many in Crypto space already believe is reasonable which is to create a distinction between non-custodial/decentralized and custodial/centralized exchanges, and have the centralized/custodial exchanges regulated by governments. The decentralized exchange should be free from such regulations depending on how decentralized and Bitcoin-friendly they are.
303  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company? on: June 13, 2023, 10:13:32 AM
Getting an MBA is beneficial because it sets you apart from the rest of the pack. One of the advantages of an MBA is that it forces you to read and learn, which helps you expand your knowledge about any business you want to venture into. I strongly believe that one of the reasons why start-ups fail is because they lack a solid foundation in understanding frameworks and conducting their own research, instead of relying solely on purchased data. While it is true that not everyone may be able to afford an MBA program, the truth is that there is so much to learn from it. If you had the opportunity to pursue an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company, which option would you choose?

Not a necessary qualification for building a successful company. The most important thing that's needed for one to run a successful company is Talents(gifts, abilities, ideas, etc), Passion and Guidance from someone/people with similar abilities who have successfully build their own businesses ethically/morally.

The easiest way to ruin a talented mind is let them go through programs set by dumb people or those with unrelated abilities who typically fill large books with nonsense that takes years instead of months to go through. Better to spend that time as an apprentice under a qualified company

Edit: Thanks for your contributions. Can some mining experts explain to us how centralized or decentralized Bitcoin mining is? We know that the big miners control most of the mining power? if the big players can be identified in the top 5 countries and their governments collaborate, can BTC survive?

cc: o_e_l_e_o, Notatether, nc50lc, ImThour

Block will continue to be mined and transactions added to the Blockchain like nothing happened, even If most miners stop mining.

If 98% of the miners cease to exist, it will only benefit potential miners and the few remaining ones, as mining difficult will reduce drastically and they will be able to do the job of 98% miners and earn more income. More miners will quickly join and replace the 98% due to very attractive profit and reduced mining difficulty.
This self-adjusting difficulty is part of what makes Bitcoin decentralized. A nation owning most of the hash power won't change anything even though I do not like the idea.

305  Economy / Economics / Re: A thought experiment: Inflation's volatility down through two currencys (pegged) on: June 12, 2023, 10:39:28 AM
Money printing doesn't necessarily cause inflation but consuming more than what is produced. The issue with printing/inflating the money supply is that the inflated amount could add to the consumption burden thereby increasing the prices of goods/services that are limited in supply.

In regards to your experiment, I think what really matters is making sure both the users of currency A and B are very productive and aren't spending more than they deserve to spend, otherwise the higher spenders who produce less & consume more could easily push the cost to the other group considering that this is a shared responsibility... and they both buy and sell from thesame market, so one will suffer from the others irresponsibility, lack of productivity and over consumption. Besides, "A" will likely benefit more from "(A+B)/2" if it is mostly responsible for the inflation.

Money supply shouldn't be inflated infinitely and unnecessary like fiat. It should be scarce/limited like Bitcoin. And should always go to those who deserve and use it prudently.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin criticizer, 'Black Swan' author, admits BTC isn't useful for 'bad guys' on: June 10, 2023, 07:52:03 AM
In an attempt to discredit and disdain Bitcoin once again, 'Black Swan' author Nassim Taleb, ended declaring Bitcoin isn't useful for the 'bad guys' (thieves), due to its transparency and traceability nature which is visible in a public blockchain at anytime, which can't be forged or adulterated.

So much angry against Bitcoin put one of the strongest arguments of the critics in contradiction. Now they have to decide, is Bitcoin bad because it helps thieves, or is it good because it can't benefit thieves? Huh

'Black Swan' Author Destroys Bitcoin (BTC): 'Cult-Like, Useless, and Dangerous'

Quote
In a scathing critique of the crypto industry, Nassim Taleb, the renowned author of "Black Swan," launched a blistering attack on Bitcoin (BTC), dismissing it as a useless and dangerous phenomenon, reports Business Insider.
Quote
Speaking at the Bloomberg Invest conference, Taleb denounced Bitcoin, asserting that it offered no haven and failed to serve even the purpose of money launderers.
Quote
He debunked the notion that Bitcoin facilitated money laundergging, arguing that its traceability made it unsuitable for such illicit activities.

Sounds like he is saying "it's useless and dangerous for the bad guys". That probably explains the contradictions in the post.
Thieves and the bad guys would hate it as is useless and dangerous for them. A thief would quickly sell or mix a stolen coin knowing how "dangerous" and transparent the system is for his survival.

307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CBDC competing with bitcoin on: June 09, 2023, 05:08:01 PM
Having a central bank digital currencies still does not change anything because the system still remains the same, central bank digital currencies (CBDC) is controlled by the government and this same system can be manipulated. Central bank digital currencies is a financial structure that is based on debt.

The new innovation by the government is a way to imitate bitcoin but still not up to the standards of bitcoin which is a decentralised currency. CBDC is nothing different from an online banking, I'm sure the reason for central bank digital currencies is to stop to stop people from adopting bitcoin.
Central Bank digital currencies can never be a limitation to the growth of bitcoin, bitcoin possess that special uniqueness that no currency can be in a competition with. Central Bank digital currencies was made because of hatred to be like bitcoin.

It's actually an attempt to modernize the world's fiat currencies, to make them interoperable and more easy to control by central forces.   Don't forget that humans are "evolving" into false version of a spiritual existence on the internet called the Virtual World, by mimicking the interconnectedness of invisible part of humans/natural world... more like how the neurons/nerves are connected together . So they expect the virtual world to be fully built with a centralized currency like the CBDC, false cryptocurrencies and/or other fiats currencies.
They can't compete with True Cryptocurrency like Bitcoin as it's built to be independent of the system and would run on a self-sustaining economic model. Bitcoin model is already unique and attractive to different set of people that are typically opposed to the fiat system. It'll be an effortless seperation between the free and the slave, one joining Bitcoin while the other remaining with the centralized system.
Bitcoin is a voluntary system that is open to anyone and does not seek to capture the world.
308  Economy / Economics / Re: 3x inflation in my life time (Im 30) does bitcoin fix this? on: June 08, 2023, 04:13:15 PM
A pizza now cost a full days wages when I first started working.     .   .   .   .

Min wage was $5.50 when I started it is $16.50 now.

In 15 years we have inflated 3x.

In another 15 years a pizza will cost $100.

how does bitcoin fix this?

inb4 some **** mentions the bitcoin pizza and does not realize the price of that pizza still went up as well.

The problem is with fiat currency and its system. With the system, they can secretly/privately print whatever amount they want and the money is overspent or spent unnecessarily on things that don't deserve the amount of money they are given.

With Bitcoin, money is printed transparently and given to people who deserve or work hard for them and the money is valued and not usually overspent or spent unnecessarily, and this also contribute to Bitcoin increasing in both price and value encouraging people to hold more & making the price to increase more & more.

309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should cryptocurrency be banned in a country with a population of 240 million? on: June 07, 2023, 04:48:00 PM
A ban would only increase the price of Bitcoin as it has been reconfigured to respond properly to such news. It's unstoppable system/currency with solid principles that's built to withstand whatever that's thrown at it. It would've reacted negatively to such news in the past as it was controlled mostly by forces that didn't care much about its solid principles... And they tethered it to weak fundamentals that were contrary to the principles which caused it to react negatively when the fundamentals are negatively affected. This issue is pretty much solved now. It's reconfigured to understand it true purpose and react positively at news or event that will encourage people to use it according to the purpose.
A ban in any country would force citizens who use Bitcoin wrongly or in centralized manner to self-custody their bitcoins and use them in decentralized p2p manner where the users will further enyoy other benefits that's according to its principles.
310  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will religion save you? on: June 07, 2023, 10:20:27 AM
Well I think it is ok to have your belief in a certain type of religion. It is ok to feel good about myself and have these types of beliefs.

Religions are going to try to destroy other religions because they think theirs is the correct one to believe in. I think it has been like that for a long time in history. And it will always be like this forever.

The problem is with many false beliefs that are used to prevent people from knowing the truth. We don't discard a real gold because of many fakes in existence. The solution to the problem is to find the truth and hold on to it.  How do you know the truth? Simple: by its fruits. The fruit has to be good. Go through the doctrines and their deeds. It will be consistently true and good. It will also be backed with Great Power, better still  by Miracles to prove they are good and actually backed by the CREATOR of the Universe

In regards to violence, there are people assigned with the task of punishing wrong doers. The violent ones are the wrong doers. If the whole event is recorded, we don't say the record book is evil and then foolishly ban it unless it supports the evil. The readers shouldn't just be shown the part where law the enforcement agents are punishing the wrong doers. They could end up thinking the agents are the evil or violent ones and the record book supports them. They need to read about the whole event to understand what is actually recorded.
It's not a bad thing for the good or truth to punish or destroy the evil/lies.  It's not a good thing to let the evil be and not have it punished.  This is part of the reason we have the law enforcement agencies in the first place. We don't accuse them of punishing or destroying other humans when we see them doing their job.  But it's OK to accuse those who go about it lawlessly or do it outside the law.

So when you read or hear about religious "violence", be sure it's justified and according to the law (a just law).  Without law enforcement evil will spread.
Even in the microscopic level in/on human body the cells constantly war against evil to keep the body healthy and prevent it from being conquered by  invaders and traitors. It won't be fair to accuse the cells of wrong deeds whereas they are doing the jobs they were created to do.

311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone Predict What's going on crypto market? on: June 06, 2023, 04:13:06 PM
We all know that it is impossible to predict the future of the crypto market. However, according to the current world economy, the market is still in a good position. Still, who knows if there is even any news or when this market will turn around again. According to the economy going down a bit too slowly can new investments be made at the moment.

It's impossible for a human to predict the market by himself but possible with the CREATOR. So, you can actually predict the market if you rely on the ONE who knows the future market very precisely.

The current situation of the market is as a result of different factors, one of which is to make sure that no human takes the credit when it hits 30,000 soon and remains at that level until it records new high which is +32,000. It was actually predicted late last year that price will hit 30,000 and it actually did. It would have stopped at 30,000 if others weren't trying to pretend they made the prediction too, then the credit that belongs to another would go to them. So the goal post was shifted to ensure that credit is given to whom it's due when it hits +30,000

312  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why Did Jesus Fast for 40 Days and 40 Nights? on: June 06, 2023, 09:15:15 AM
they reset themselves to their DNA pattern by prolonged fasting

That's nonsense. It may make sense to you, but it won't make sense to anyone else without explaining what "reset themselves to their DNA pattern" means and how that is brought about by prolonged fasting.

Neither science nor the Bible gives us any clues as to how the first people lived so long.
The ideal age is between 17 an 20 years. A person is at his healthy DNA pattern at that age. By the time he is 80 or 90, even though he has the same basic DNA, it isn't expressing itself the same as at 20. Fasting causes the body to gobble up bad and crippled DNA for food, and only the healthy DNA remains... back to 20.

The early people lived as long as they did because the whole Earth system was not corrupted in depth as it is today. Consider that the North Polar areas were warm, as can be seen by the mammoths that have been dug out of the ice in Siberia, with flesh almost fresh enough to eat, and with freshly cropped grass still in their mouths and stomachs.

Further, frequent fasting is a practice that keeps people healthier than if they didn't. When Jesus fasted, He was wildly in prayer to His Father to be saved from death. He was heard because of His reverent submission. How many other fasting people even understand how to pray to God, but if they did, they would realize that Jesus has already taken the punishment for sin, and we can ask, knowing that we will get what we asked for, because Jesus said so. "Man doesn not live on bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

So, we actually have a chance to live for loads of years longer than we normally think... maybe hundreds of years.

It's doubtful. Prolonged fasting can lead to death, and many people fast regularly but they don't live longer than anyone else.

Doubtful? Doubt is simply faith that the thing you ask for won't happen. There are prisoners who have gone on 2-month hunger fasts and lived.

With faith you can move mountains, and nothing will be impossible for you, if you have the correct faith. So, don't be doubtful, because "he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, tossed this way and that. Such a person shouldn't expect to receive anything from God."

Cool

Actually it's mostly about the spiritual gains. The less you feed the flesh the more aware or active the Spirit becomes. And you will see visions and recieve messages from above. The 40 could signify the 40 days of fasting by Moses on Mount Sanai while receiving the commandments and other messages from the CREATOR. In Acts of the Apostles Peter fell into trance while he was hungry or fasting. Someone was once told by the CREATOR that fasting (while feeding with the Word of GOD) will make him be as a wave or light(wave was actually shown to the person). He was further told that the enemy uses gluttony to weigh people down, probably spiritually. Try feeding yourself with the Word of GOD while fasting and you could have a life changing experience.

Besides, if you are in the presence of the CREATOR, your thirst for water and hunger for food will completely disappear. This is actually from experience.

When Jesus washed the disciples feet, note that Peter out of humility didn't want to be washed. Then when Jesus said it was a requirement to be His disciple, Peter wanted His face and hands washed, as well.

Peter was looking at the mystical and a 'holier than thou' attitude. Jesus was simply looking at the practical, and teaching His disciples to serve one another.

There is numerology all over the place. In fact we don't understand it. But a 40-day fast has results that are not numerological, or are in addition to the numerology. That's what we are looking for.

If a person has enough faith, he doesn't need 'tricks' to become youthful, again. But notice what Jesus often did. He used some earthly elements to heal, and He said, "According to your faith will it be done for you." We need the trick of something physical to bolster our weak faith... even though Jesus didn't for Himself.

Cool

It's not necessary to fast to be strong in spirit but it's actually important. Just as male genital circumcision isn't necessary to become a Righteous Person but the circumcision of the heart. They are all symbolic and can serve as reminder that the Word of GOD is an actual food that gives life and is necessary for the salvation of man more than the physical food we are used to.

I actually agree on the part that things should be done according to ones faith. If you believe you can survive without food for more than a week it will be done, so long as the belief is hinge on faith in the CREATOR... Better still, a complete trust that GOD can do it for you because HIS Word says so (with GOD all things are possible).  The belief is counted as Righteousness because the one believing is obeying the Word... And it's written: "the righteous shall live by Faith
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ID Security Requirements and Security Methods.🔗 on: June 05, 2023, 03:51:41 PM
Simply avoid applications or sites that do not completely preserve your privacy/anonymity, secure (or help secure) your Bitcoin/assets and bitcoin transactions/activities... and you should be fine.
No centralized application or site can guarantee this.

Nobody in Crypto space or any stranger for that matter should know your true crypto identity unless you committed a crime or choose to give it out to trustworthy person or someone who definitely will not misuse/abuse it. You actually have right to privacy, don't give it away unless you're a criminal or know what you are doing.

315  Economy / Economics / Re: China reopening was a flop, if we're heading to deflation, what about Bitcoin? on: June 02, 2023, 10:57:10 AM
I think the inflationary pressure on most of the Fiat currencies will still outweigh whatever price reduction is recorded in commodities. And don't forget that the industries or attentions could move to least affected countries to fill up the demand gap. That could force China to take a different approach to keep their jobs and industries.

Bitcoin is actually more deflationary, and it is new, unique and developing... with potential to attract users to other of its interesting features aside just the deflation. Notwithstanding, its deflationary feature will continue to be more attractive to users especially those trading on volatility
316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador President Hires Bitcoin Standard Author As Economic Advisor on: June 01, 2023, 03:43:24 PM
Don't know much about him nor have read his book... maybe the President saw something special in him others couldn't.. Probably has some talents in economics that need to be refined, which education from good quality school, experience possibly from Bitcoin or from someone who have mastered economics could possibly do.
From my experience, learning about Bitcoin and its economic model could actually transform a person into a better economist. But it would be hard to replicate the model in centralized system without issues. Could work in a True libertarian society though. I hope the president would truely implement the standard like Decentralization of Power for this to work out well for the country.
317  Other / Off-topic / Re: When was the last time you visited your hometown? on: June 01, 2023, 09:49:06 AM
I haven't visited for quite along time and may never visit even though I have had series of dreams of me in the Community.

I wish I have works to do there otherwise it's not a place I would want to visit for fun.    The old people there were incredibly nice the last times i visited but I'm not sure the current people who I believe have been too corrupted by modern cultures will know how to treat people well or be nice/civil. They are almost transforming the place into something else... less natural and more artificial stuff, like foods, drinks, roads, transportation, houses, etc. The natural is why I love the rural areas.

*Note: by "artificial" i mean things not made naturally, whether foods, houses, roads, etc.
For example, if you want to construct a house naturally, better contruct with natural things that have not been synthesized or artificially made... Better to create metals with natural fires not with fire from artificial gas, build homes with nice natural materials, ferment foods/drinks naturally, use natural manure/foods to nourish the farms, etc. I prefer community that make things that way.
318  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: More Clarification on mining on: May 31, 2023, 04:04:43 PM
I've done some reading on mining and how it operates, but there are still some concepts that are beyond me; therefore, I need some clarifications.

My main concern is with mining, specifically with how long it takes to mine a block and why we use mining.

- What does the term "difficulty" in mining mean, and why is there difficulty in mining?

It takes +9mins to 'mine a block'
Just consider Bitcoin Mining as a way of working hard with your mining equipment to find or dig out new Gold/Bitcoin which is added to the gold/coin supply. Bitcoin mining is modelled after gold mining to give a feel of a hard money or hardwork based money that's not printed out of thin air like fiat currencies.

- Mining difficulty:  The more the gold-diggers/miners, the more difficult finding new gold becomes... The fewer the easier it becomes.
Part of the reason for the mining difficulty is to maintain the reward time intervals, to keep mining decentralized, balanced and competitive in relation to demand/profit.

*Edit: Note that in order to maintain the value of a currency it's important to make it hard to earn.  Or better still, people need to work hard or use energy to earn money. That's why Bitcoin PoW mining is really important and makes alot of sense.
~ Money = Workdone converted into "Potential Energy" to Power the Future
319  Economy / Economics / Re: Dedollarization is here, like it or not on: May 31, 2023, 09:40:07 AM
In regards to the last part of your post.
I think, intelligence rather than force could also be used by dominant country to assert its dominance. Even though a more dominant force can be a sign of higher intelligence.
The two are main ways to know which country's currency will remain or become dominant. I would have given it to Russia but she doesn't seem to be interested in strong currency or imposing her will on others. I think the Head isn't that ambitious. It's more about the preservation of past glory or holding on to the past. A mere destruction of the statues of their past heroes would piss him off more than insults from weak Nations
