1021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Key words (short sentence) to explain BTC on: November 05, 2021, 03:24:49 PM
A Decentralized Global network/system for exchanging and storing values like currency.

*In five key words, Decentralized Electronic system for transferring values
1022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain agents on: November 05, 2021, 02:59:31 PM
Unfortunately once you send Bitcoin to address you do not control, it cannot be reversed.
Perhaps, reversible transaction can be made possible on Bitcoin Network by building unique applications to support that. For example, you can build application with address system that is designed to be partly controlled by a Bitcoin Company. When such mistake occurs, you can initiate a dispute and the company/arbiters will need to involve the address owner before they can have full power to reverse the transaction once they are convinced it's a mistake.

So, I think the Main Network should remain irreversible otherwise there will be lots of abuses. Businesses can decide to create application on Bitcoin that have both customer care services and reversible transactions like you want.
1023  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to consider yourself as a FAIL? on: November 05, 2021, 10:31:08 AM
Guess you mean "considering yourself a failure as a cryptotrader"? Assuming that's what you mean, I would say not able to predict price correctly or earn consistently and being profitable after spending lots of time learning to trade. I won't be too comfortable with lucky gains unless I'm still learning or just want to try my luck with small amounts of coins.
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is burning coins good on: November 05, 2021, 10:10:53 AM
It pretty much depends on demand. Even if you burn 80% of the total supply but no one is buying the remaining supply to do something useful with it the coin would still be worthless. Besides, I really don't like the idea of deliberately "burning coins" that are not bad yet, just to increase their price. I think a better mechanism should be determined by rules, could be automatic and decentralized. .. You could have rules that automatically increase or reduce supply if demand is too high or too low. This should also help the price movements to be sustainable and moderate.
It should not be easy for developers to wakeup one day and decide to burn public coins. I'm not sure I can use such coin unless it's done through strong public consensus
1025  Economy / Economics / Re: How can strikes affect short-term inflation? on: November 05, 2021, 09:36:19 AM
Strikes have nothing to do with short term or long term inflation.
Inflation is a process of national and global scale.Strikes can only affect the economy of a region or a city. They are strictly local and they cannot affect the national or global economy.
Even national strikes cannot have big impact over the national economy, because they are too short term.
If a strike somehow helps for creating inflation in the economy of a city or a region, then more products coming from other cities and regions will be imported to that cirty/region,causing the prices to go down.
OP,I feel that your post is more emotional rather than logical. Are the workers in West Virginia really treated as slaves?Public service employees don't have any right to strike in most countries in the world.Sad but true.

I think he/she has some points. What's actually possible is how Strike action of Union members can encourage inflation, even though they can also be used for good. They could decide to strike on a massive scale and that could easily create scarcity and cause inflation.
I tend to think that such Unions are sometimes anti competition but competition could be necessary to force price down. I won't be surprised if there are dictatorial Unions that impose price limits on businesses... for example, they could ask competitive bakeries not sell  breads at lower price anymore so other members with higher priced breads can sell.. . Then businesses will be scared to reduce price of their goods or services for fear of being attacked or penalized.
1026  Economy / Economics / Re: CBDCs are not cryptocurrencies on: November 05, 2021, 09:04:26 AM
Don't know much about the CBDC and the digital fiat currencies but what I can assure you is that no centralized currency is True Cryptocurrency, you will be right to call them false cryptocurrencies (but not false currencies) because what makes a currency True cryptocurrency is the decentralization, immutablity, censorship resistant, transparency, etc. These feature kind of gurantee that there encryption and other security features can not easily be tampared without public network rejecting it. Fiats are typically run like private currencies so nothing can be guaranteed due mainly to centralization and lack of transparency
1027  Economy / Economics / Re: How can strikes affect short-term inflation? on: November 04, 2021, 04:34:17 PM
Well, I wish both parties consider the consumers first in the negotiations. That will likely prevent a strike action or deals that are unfavorable to the consumers. Lots of times both are more concerned about themselves and not those they are established to serve (the consumers).
I noticed how companies behave when pay increase (for example) is demanded by employees, they push the expenses to the consumers and the employees don't care too much as long as they have more money in their bank accounts. It should always be about others first for both the employers, employees, and even consumers.
1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Fungibility Issue on: November 04, 2021, 04:09:07 PM
In my opinion, a tainted coin has to be proven to be tainted if is used for dangerous crime otherwise a mere claim of being tainted without strong proof could be ignored by other users and the exchange that tagged it sanctioned or punished.
As fungible as gold is, if you are caught using it for serious crime, I expect that it will be seized and marked as crime money/gold and it loses it fungibility or cease to being fungible
1029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan believes Bitcoin is Overpriced on: November 04, 2021, 03:53:27 PM
I think if it were possible to patent Bitcoin and have everyone who wishes to copy and use any of its technology pay for using it to a special account controlled by the Community, they will probably understand it's a pioneer in a revolutionary technology and is worth alot.
If you consider Bitcoin Currency as a first inflation-proof currency of decentralized Nation called Bitcoin Network, you will understand why it ahould be worth alot if Nation like Jamaica is worth alot
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Necessary reminder: watch out for $5 wrench attacks on: November 04, 2021, 03:36:41 PM
It should also serve as a reminder how easily someone can steal your coin physically from you with cheap weapon if you don't take necessary precautions in securing the fund as single holder. I think it's always better to keep the amount of money you have private... (by private I mean to Yourself alone or to people that keep no secret from you, you know everything about yourselves, you see yourselves as One & can't steal from each other).    Also try to split your coin into multiple keys if you have alot on single keys. Splitting the fund in multiple parts and having special keys for the attackers with reasonable amount that you probably can set to presend to address you control when it's stolen. There should be features to protect from the $5 wrench attack.
1031  Economy / Economics / Re: How is financial stability defined for you? on: November 04, 2021, 10:26:49 AM
I guess you could define it as assurance that you will continue to have steady income enough to meet your needs.
To be honest this is gurantee for the "free" by faith that you will always have enough once you continue to be fruitful (by being fruitful I mean doing things that are good and useful to others, then yourself).

Enough provisions have already been made for the free throughout their stay on Earth. Once you realize this truth, you won't be too bother whether you are getting paid or not for your works, because you will always be taken care of to the extent that people who try to prevent this blessing could have all they have taken from them... the ones who genuinely bless you for your good works are blessed. It's just guranteed for the free.
1032  Economy / Economics / Re: There are many online jobs out there. Crypto Opportunity. on: November 04, 2021, 10:04:56 AM
Yes well, but as Coyster says crypto-related jobs are only part of the online jobs. The good thing is that it is a field that will continue to grow, not only to find a main job but also for side hustles, as you point out:

Actually, this isn't my problem in life because I have a job that pays well, but because I want to grind more, I found some moderation jobs on crypto projects that pay well, almost as well as my work. It doesn't take much;

Many of us nowadays complement our main job with online activities that are other sources of income, which I recommend to everyone
.

I think it's better to focus on jobs that are related to your talents so that you can learn and improve really fast. If you are a doctor better focus on health related online jobs. What you learn from your online health jobs can be used to improve on your doctor job and vise-versa. Not a good idea to focus on unrelated jobs unless you are multi-talented or passionate about the unrelated job.
1033  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who uses Messari Research? on: November 04, 2021, 09:41:03 AM
I don't use it, but from my little understanding after going through it now, it seems they provide unique paid or subscription based service probably for Crypto users
I would guess they charge that much because of the time and resources they put into research. And that charge is for Enterprise Plan. There is a Pro plan which is probably below $50.

I would advice you properly research about the Site/service to be sure it's genuine, safe, very useful and works according to what they claim it can do
1034  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't Have Goals on: November 04, 2021, 08:59:10 AM
This is more reliable because of the certainty you are on the right track with the right goals to guide your important life's decisions.
Our man-made goals or roadmaps will certainly mislead us or keep us on the wrong path.

I understand the sentiment but it's more like had there been no set up goal, I would have gotten enough money for goal + more.

The point of my previous post is that once you are aligned with your real purpose in life everything works for your own good... and there won't be regrets.
Your goal has to be according to what your CREATOR has designed for you, so you don't make mistakes chasing after things that aren't yours or chasing after that are yours at the wrong time
1035  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why I think Facebook meta may fail on: November 03, 2021, 05:08:02 PM
There are lots of people who wouldn't mind as long as it's convenient, "cool" and easy to use. If you tell them about the privacy implication for example they probably wouldn't care much about that as they typically would say they have nothing bad to hide. They are basically trusting the rulers with their data.
1036  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Stability - Get yourself non ending economic circle. on: November 03, 2021, 04:33:34 PM
Not too difficult to have multiple income sources and earn lots of money ... the problem is doing this the wrong way, not doing the works you would like to do, creating more problems for society trying to earn from multiple places etc
Lots of people will likely quit their jobs once they realize the implications of the jobs they do. this is part of the reason certain people choose to avoid doing certain work and earning lots of money.. it's not as if it's difficult for them to make lots of money from different jobs and be rich.

Better to just solve problems... If people appreciate or not, you still get your rewards in one way or another, as long as you do what is right. Such rewards always come from above and nobody can stop it.
If problem solving counts, whether people reward you or not, you could rightly claim you have multiple jobs.
I believe the world should emphasize on Solving Problems or making useful contributions to societies rather than just having a job. Lots of people don't contribute much in their jobs or are creating more problems yet are fully paid.
1037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not your vault, not your money. Why some nation-states will HODL Bitcoin. on: November 03, 2021, 03:40:20 PM
The Taliban will never EVER see that money again. If only there was a robust, self-sovereign, censorship-resistant currency that an entity can actually HODL in their own actual custody, without any counterparty trust. Cool

I guess that will entail locking up national fund (which would be in crypto) in smart-contract based on national rules, that can only be released to another government once all agreements are fulfilled.
If the contract says only release the fund to legitimate government (government that follows the law or did what is moral to come into power), nothing will be released if they didn't meet the requirement.
1038  Economy / Economics / Re: Taiwan invasion - how would it affect bitcoin on: November 03, 2021, 03:12:14 PM
Well, from your perspective it would seem as it's merely about semiconductor or territory control but I think it's much more than that. It's a game of maintaining the title of superpower or losing it. This game has been with humans for a long time even though we may not realize it.
It'll definitely remain with Babylon even if satan wants it for Asian giant. The "Red king" handled this quite well before power was taken from him. He will do "better" than before when power is given back to him.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if country has fully adopted crypto and they are releasing their own stablecoin on: November 03, 2021, 10:32:44 AM
Will probably use Bitcoin for International transfers/transactions, as store of value and sometimes for paying for things esp things that are more valuable/important than Bitcoin. I could use fiat/stablecoin more for buying, not sure I will use it alot as store of value due to inflation.
1040  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't Have Goals on: November 03, 2021, 10:10:08 AM
Well  in the good old days of human society, I believe individual roadmaps were given to people or some by their CREATOR, probably in full or in parts, in their minds...so that the Roadmaps guide them.  Whenever it's time to fulfil part of the Roadmaps, they are reminded by their CREATOR, with more ideas/details on how to go about it.
This is more reliable because of the certainty you are on the right track with the right goals to guide your important life's decisions.
Our man-made goals or roadmaps will certainly mislead us or keep us on the wrong path.
