When trying to select the same node on desktop it says "Node out of sync" and most other nodes (e.g. https://nodes.iota.cafe:443).
When selecting these nodes https://pool.trytes.eu, https://durian.iotasalad.org:14265, https://node.iota-tangle.io:14265 - getting "Error changing node"
message.

Node durian.iotasalad.org is offline. See here to check and find a node from iotasalad.org that is online and completely synchronized. I prefer patato.iotasalad, it works for me.

Rather, I recommend to use the node list from iota.dance to find a good node. I have never had any connection problems by choosing a node from the list with a good number of neighbors, current milestone and less load.
3063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: March 11, 2019, 06:42:52 PM
Hi. Does it worth buy WCT to receive VOSTOK?
Which do you prefer buying WAVES or WCT at this price?

Well, by doing simple math, WCT would be much better to buy if you want to receive free Vostok. Both tokens - Waves and WCT - receive the same amount of Vostock. WCT is currently five times cheaper than Waves, so you get five times more the amount of Vostok for a Dollar investment. How the prices of Waves and WCT develop after the distribution, of course, is in the stars.

You also forgot to mention "Dope". This 2015 American crime comedy-drama featured Bitcoin front and center, as a group of high school friends become entangled in a mess of crimes. They find themselves in possession of molly they must get rid of, and begin doing so through the darknet website. The film, executive produced by Pharrell Williams, is the only mainstream film featuring Bitcoin as a focal point of the plotline.

Thanks, but take a look at the opening post. It is already mentioned. As far as I could remember, it even was one of the first movies listed on the thread Smiley
3065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VITE] [DAG + Smart Contract] Vite | Asynchronous Architecture on: March 11, 2019, 06:31:25 PM
I recommend the project to a friend and advised him to download the wallet app to start with some VITE airdrops. He did so (Android wallet). Today he asked me why the app is asking him to allow access to calls and video chats when requesting airdrops by clicking on the button in the app. I could not answer that question because I used iOS and it was not asked here. Could it be that this is a bug in the software? I think it's strange if a wallet app wants to have access to the call functions.
3066  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcointalk Crawler Service|For Campaign Managers and other Use Cases on: March 10, 2019, 04:41:02 PM

The service is about facilitating campaign managers' work by having everything at a glance.

This would mainly help a manager with the selection process. Something that might help boost some interest would be adding options for merits. How many earned, timespan they were earned in, avg merits per post, etc.....

Thank you, yahoo62278! Your contribution and your experience as campaign manager is very helpful. I will continue to develop the software as I have already received some positive feedback and obtained orders. Of course, merit is very interesting and important. I will implement this in addition soon.

3067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Series and films in which Bitcoin appears (Collection Thread) on: March 10, 2019, 04:36:07 PM
I recently watched a film from marvel " ant Man and wasp." It also mentioned cryptocurrency. Nothing special, just in a conversation between people, one of them mentioned cryptocurrency. I don't remember what minute it was.

It would be helpful if you could find out which season and which episode it was. Otherwise I can not add it to the list.

I added three new entries:

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (2018)
Shameless (US) # Season 9 # Episode 9
Designated Survior # Season 2 # Episode 1

Thank you for your contributions to expand the collection.

3070  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcointalk Crawler Service|For Campaign Managers and other Use Cases on: March 09, 2019, 07:26:18 PM
IMHO,you are wrong. This software isn't made to check quality posts but to help the managers have a single sheet of consolidated data about their participants so they don't have to go through each participant profile/post.

Exactly! The reports are not meant to evaluate the quality of posts. This would require the implementation of data and text mining algorithms. And even this would not ensure a good quality of posts. Quality measurement still needs human assessment.

The service is about facilitating campaign managers' work by having everything at a glance. As the example sheet shows you can go through hundreds of post relatively easy and evaluate overall quality. And that by many users. You also see how many posts were made in which category and if a user met the requirements (for example, only allowed X posts in the local forum or at least X posts in a specific category).

So, a campaign manager must go through each post by the user individually, which is much more complex and more time consuming.

Bitcoin Mining Profits Rise After 19-Month Slump

After over a year and a half of decreasing Bitcoin mining revenue, a new report shows a small yet significant recovery in the gross margins. Let's take a look at what the mining industry has been through in recent years, and what this recovery could mean for the near future.

3073  Economy / Services / Bitcointalk Crawler Service|For Campaign Managers and other Use Cases on: March 08, 2019, 03:01:12 PM
Bitcointalk Crawler Service

I have developed software that fetches information from Bitcointalk.org and creates reports and statistics. It is ideal for research purposes and to facilitate signature campaign management.

The software itself is not for sale. When ordering the service, reports from a user or a set of users are regularly delivered automatically.

The software is highly customizable and reports can be adapted to the respective requirements. It could gather the following data:

  • Post Id
  • Post Title
  • Post Content
  • Post Link
  • Post Link
  • Post Length (without quotes)
  • Board Id
  • Board Name / Thread Name
  • Board Path
  • Board Link
  • Date of the post (could also provide the Unix timestamp)

To fetch desired information Bitcointalk.org user id(s) have to delivered and whether you want to get the posts starting from a particular date or all posts since the user's creation date.

Data can be delivered in various formats: Excel, CSV, HTML, SQL-Export etc.

Data Preview

The following online sheet shows three tabs with information about my last posts including reports.
https://docs.zoho.eu/sheet/published.do?rid=yadmefdf2c29eec214fcd9f315e2631415d88

Database Screenthost:

Price:

Price depends on how much data you want to fetch. I usually charge 0.0001BTC per 100 posts.

Example:
You run a signature campaign with 20 users and you want to get the posts of each user of the last 7 days. Let's say, each user has made 50 posts in average. So, you order 1000 posts in total. I will charge 0.001 BTC for the data.

Feel free to contact me over pm to get an individual offer.
3074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Obyte: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: March 07, 2019, 01:12:36 PM
If obyte price increases enough it will be so high so that it will not be attractive to transfer value.

Please explain why a high value should speak against a transfer? If so, then at the end of 2017 only a few coins would have had to be traded. The opposite was the case. Trading and transfer volumes were higher than ever. For all crypto currencies, also for Byteball aka Obyte.
3075  Local / Biete / Verkaufe Bitcoin Gold 20% unter Marktpreis on: March 06, 2019, 02:37:51 PM

Kurz: Ich habe 2.2 Bitcoin Gold (Wert etwa $20-25).

It doesn't work for me, no matter what node I use. I use IOTA light wallet 2.3.1.
Since 2017 I'm trying to open the wallet to access my funds but allways see the message "could not connect to remote node". How can I access my funds now?

Download the current version 2.5.7
https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases

As @dogebearman posted, you are using an outdated version that is not work properly anymore. Upgrade light wallet, or better, switch to Trinity wallet.

I installed the Trinity wallet, opened it with the old seed and it shows zero balances, why is that?

Are you sure that the entered seed is correct? For security reasons, the wallet does not allow the seed to be copied and pasted since copied data is stored in the main memory of the computer and thus there is a theoretical chance for hackers to read it out. That's why the software requires you to enter it manually. With 81 characters, input errors can therefore happen.

Does the project have any overlap with new Qora project? Or rather, are there synergies between the projects?
The question arises, whether alone it is possible to lead both projects with the necessary time they deserve.
3080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [WTS] 2.2 BTG (-20% below market price) on: March 04, 2019, 07:33:33 PM
I have five Bitcoin Gold addresses holding 2.2 Bitcoin Gold coins in total. Unfortunately I do not get run the wallet on my machine and therefore I am not able to access the coins at the moment. Thus, I sell the five addresses (private keys) 15% 20% below current market price for Bitcoin.

I'll go first if the buyer is at least Hero member without negative trust. Otherwise buyer must go first.

Pm me if you are interested.
