I think it would be a good idea to create now a new forum (I mean outside bitcointalk) to discuss all the ideas: one thread per idea would be much easier to manage I'd do this if you want
Edit: I didn't see your previous post. Let me put internet on my laptop and I'll look at that link

I love extremely pessimistic threads! Ridiculous combo-breaker

Be strict about '+1's Make a popularity count (using very-established users opinions only) Display posts count+registration date next to avatar Put posting limits: no more than 1 post per hour (or 2, or 0.5, or whatever you think would fit) during the first week after registration. Then 2p/h during the second, etc. IMO mobile phone support is not a top priority
Edit1: be clear about the acceptance of altcoins
Edit2: personal opinions NO social media support! NO tracking like Google analytics or shit like this at all Mods paid by users through public donation addresses
Edit3: no ads in signatures allowed Or if people find this too anti-freedom.of.speech, no colours/glow/big font

Indeed, you can't do this immediately but the saying "you can't double spent" leads newbies to fear/feeling scammed/posting aggressively in the tech forum.
I agree with the sentiment (too much FUD spread around in general) but at the same time it should be understood that the entire *premise* of Bitcoin was to "solve the double spending problem" (so IMO not really a useful thing to tell people that you "can double spend" as it then leads people to infer that Bitcoin is *fundamentally flawed* which is isn't). Indeed, I used the same words than the post I replied to That would be nice to find another word for this For newbies: double-spending means here 'replace an old, stuck transaction which isn't accepted in the blockchain with a new one'

These BTCNazis like OP keep forgetting one thing: BTC was the beginning something, not the ultimate payment system what will last until end of the world. Maybe I'm wrong but I think alts are the future.
The problem is not altcoins (at least for me), it's the coins that don't bring REAL innovations And no, changing the retarget time or the block reward is not an innovation. Changing SHA256 to Scrypt was one IMO (litecoin) Allowing transaction comments too (florincoin) PoS too (ppcoin) This is just like evolution. A lot of dead ends and a few innovative or highly specialized survivors. This time is something like the early Cambrian era in biology. I'm fine with that, except when the creators/copiers go to the newbies forum to make them buy their shit because 'THIS IS THE ONLY INNOVATIVE COIN OF THE FUTURE' That make newbies see the whole cryptocoin community as scammers, and we really don't need that...

Porn on internet? Bad Porn in ads on the road? Porn at TV? Porn in the tube ads? Sexism everywhere? No problem

It sure has fallen to the floor... But I am sure it will recover quickly, like always.. Great time to buy cheap!
It will recover on the long term. Sorry buddy, but when I dump my 3 million coins, it will drive the price to .000000001 LTC Even if you had 3million why would you dump at this price! You would just lose money that way... Or you want to see this coin suffer, which is maybe priceless for you? Do you even economics? He wouldn't lose money... Keeping coins a bit longer doesn't make the ask higher

I still don't understand why the mods feel the need to ban people when there's a perfectly good ignore function available, you can't protect people from their own computer illiteracy, it's like Bitcointalk is turning into facebook and we'll have news items soon enough claiming the mods need to do a better job despite their being a fucking obvious ignore button right at the profile of the user that's annoying them.
Unregistered people can't ignore so people who come here for the first time will see a forum full of trolls/scammers/etc Great way to make them interested in Bitcoin
|
|
|
Maybe support signatures that don't use colors and people will stop using colors in their signature Just like supporting whistleblowers makes governments more honest, right?

You can double-spend
Whilst it is *possible* it is actually in practice rather difficult to do (I tried once after making a huge mistake with fees doing a raw tx). Any node that has seen the first tx will ignore the "double spend" attempt - making it virtually impossible to then do so after only a few seconds across much of the network. Indeed, you can't do this immediately but the saying "you can't double spent" leads newbies to fear/feeling scammed/posting aggressively in the tech forum. So: Yes we can. But you'll have to use the search function to find the guide and to wait a bit.

The minimum transaction fee is 0BTC. This transaction just takes longer (from a few hours to a few days).
Is there a risk that it never arrives? Could I respend it if it doesn't arrive? No, it just takes some tiem And you can't double spent. You can double-spend
