3181  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin & Taxes on: March 11, 2018, 06:20:33 PM
I don't know this website but reading the content quickly I think you can do it yourself if you know what/how to do. It's better to learn yourself this kind of things. It's not so much difficult, it's not like if you were running a company operating in the USA, located in Panama with funds invested in the Virgin Islands lol...

These links can help you more with this
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-14-21.pdf
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Tax_compliance

Bitcoin.tax is pretty helpful for traders that have made a good amount of trades, it helps to compile everything from your hundreds of trades (in my case) and creates capital gains reports, income reports, etc that are able to be filled by you, filled by turbotax (free tax software that you can use if your profit is under a certain amount) or filled by your accountant who would charge you 15x more if they had to compile your capital gains information.

So yeah, I'd rather use them then stress the fuck out about finding every little thing that I've done when they're able to just pull it from API.
3182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why did mtgox dump? on: March 11, 2018, 06:16:12 PM
I've seen that they've liquidated a good chunk of their coins, but for what reason? Are they doing it in order to pay off all of the people that have lost money on their site and they have to pay them back or--is there another reason for doing it? It would be understandable if they did it in order to pay off the people who lost money due to hacks, though I don't see another reason.

Could anyone enlighten me?
3183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you look for when investing in an ICO? on: March 11, 2018, 05:36:02 PM
Well you're going to have to look for a handful of things, first thing is that the coin has a usage and it could actually become something (most coins don't have this, you're going to have to look pretty hard) Then you see the team behind it, advisors, etc. Advisors, even though they may not play a big part in the coin itself, may be able to hype the coin up enough to where you're able to turn a profit.

I also don't know what you're getting into the ICO's for, is it for profit? Or do you want to join in on another coin from the bottom and see where it takes you?

3184  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading actually worth it? on: March 11, 2018, 05:02:43 PM
It matters what you consider worth it and the risk tolerance you're ready to open yourself up to. If you're a trader that's spending 40 hours a week trading and is barely able to make a few hundred dollars, or you're losing money -- then, of course, it's not even close to worth it. But if you're able to spend less time (like drastically less) and make that money then so be it.

Time is money, and you could have another job with all of the time of a full time trader.
3185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government's corruption using Coins on: March 11, 2018, 04:47:10 PM
There are certain instances, like in South Korea where officials state that they're going to be banning bitcoin, or imposing strict regulations --> the market crashes due to the news, these officials buy massive amounts of coins, the statement is retracted and then they made a good amount of money. They didn't get away with it, but I wouldn't doubt that it's happening all around the world.

Insider trading is possible with anything though related to government. It's probably easier for them to influence whatever they want in FIAT and then deal with FIAT.
3186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ban In India on: March 11, 2018, 04:25:05 PM
No,nothing along the lines of a ban is either in the making nor has it occured yet. I think you're confusing regulatory action and banning something, as India is getting stricter and stricter with the regulations that they're imposing on bitcoin. For more info, I'd check here - https://techcrunch.com/2018/02/03/psa-no-india-hasnt-banned-bitcoin-but-its-still-talking-tough-on-crypto/

3187  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: XBTFreelancer is down !! on: March 11, 2018, 04:13:20 PM
Site seems to already be back on, I wouldn't go to fretting unless their domain redirected someplace else, their support wasn't responding for days, twitter shutdown, etc. Something like this (site going down) is going to happen in the world of crypto which has an insane amount of hype with it right now, so this is normal and is going to happen -- people just have to get used to it and breath a little. It's understandable to fret about your cash, but we're all good here!
3188  Economy / Economics / Re: what is the future of virtual currency like bitcoin ? on: March 11, 2018, 04:03:18 PM
No one knows, I mean we could go through some massive changes like the LN which allow Bitcoin to propel itself into the everyday world and then many people, companies, etc would be using bitcoin (or at least MORE people would be using it, increased adoption is what I'm getting at) Maybe we'll stay where we are now? Or maybe this all fails.

I mean no one is going to know the answer to the question, we're just going to throw one of the 3 above at you.
3189  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin gold worth it? For you to buy. on: March 11, 2018, 06:38:14 AM
All of these forks of Bitcoin, all they do is get some hype in the start of their creation and when people are able to get their forked coins and sell them. They have LITERALLY no usage and are just for selling to make a couple bucks on, that's how it works. These coins are shitty, and don't take much to actually get off the ground.

So no, nothing forked off of bitcoin has usage and a future --> shit coins.
3190  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who was the main source of FUD about Binance? on: March 11, 2018, 06:35:01 AM
I think that cryptocoinsnews has jumped the shark a long time ago. Not that they ever were pretending to be a seirous publication (anonymous admins etc.) but the problem is that most btc news sites jump to conclusions very easily. Reproducing news without much fact checking just for the traffic. Overall, FUD spreads like wildfire in the space of crypto.

I would think that most of the crypto news sitees are also bought and paid for by the highest bidder. I do think that these sites did start off with good intentions and probably providing quality news, though when you're presented with a boatload of cash to write a BS story to change investors feelings and fuck the market then you simply do it. That's how greed and the world works.

These sites become corruputed slowly, and I (sadly) don't blame them for doing it.
3191  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anonymous exchanges? on: March 11, 2018, 06:24:58 AM
Yup there are several exchanges that provide this currently. You can trade on Binance (up to 2 BTC), Etherdelta (unlimited), and I believe Poloniex as well (2k limit).

These exchanges still aren't anonymous, they track a good amount of your data while browsing, emaila address, etc. If you want a fully anonymous experrience you're going to have to use cash, buy from a place that isn't your home (location wise of the computer you're using) and then buy from a p2p site, LocalBitcoins, Paxful, etc.

Most other non p2p exchanges are semi anon, but that's not anonymous like you asked.
3192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the most exciting reasons to become involved with digital currencies? on: March 11, 2018, 06:16:29 AM
Well one of the first big ones is to get involved with something new, you're able to see what the future of money could be like. You're able to experience human ingenuity and human innovation from your computer, making a currency out of code without a party to control it (government, bank, etc) Crypto is really crazy when you start thinking about it, it's insane in my eyes and you'd be doing a diservice on yourself if you didn't at least research it yourself and see how it works.
3193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why do you still support Bitcoin when it's technology is clearly inferior? on: March 11, 2018, 05:52:15 AM
Because you're wrong, the technology behind Bitcoin isn't inferior as it can be changed at any point if the miners are to agree to change it. Bitcoin could be ever changing to adapat to a different market, and at the moment it doesn't need to change. We've seen some issues no doubt, but this is from people spamming the shit out of the network (roger ver and co) or failing to be competent with the network (coinbase and batching) These people inflate the price of fees and make Bitcoin look bad, though it doesn't need to be like this.

I fully still support bitcoin.
3194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is this true that GOOGLE will ban the ICO and crypto related ads? on: March 11, 2018, 05:40:16 AM
I've heard that the same sort of news is true, and it really does make sense for google to be cracking down on this sort of stuff. This is because at the moment, most of the ICO and crypto ads that are going around are scam ads, trying to get people to buy into some shitty ICO and these people think that they're going to get rich. Google doesn't want this to tarnishn their name, it'll just make them look bad and sites will stop using them if their users complain of being scammed due to the ad.

So yeah, not worth it for them to lose reputation over (scammy) crypto ads.
3195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in darknet on: March 11, 2018, 05:23:38 AM
Why don't you just purchase camera's on the clearweb though? Not sure if you still can, but I think you can still purchase items on Amazon using bitcoin through purse.io.

https://purse.io/

Only reason I could see is that he wanted to stay anonymous during the purchase of it, somrthing I wouldn't really understand but I mean if you really don't want people to know I'd go to a local electronics store and buy in cash. Bitcoin is going to be a bit of a nusisance when it comes to staying anon compared to cash.

If you want to just buy the item with Bitcoin, then yeah Purse'll work fine.
3196  Economy / Trading Discussion / Who was the main source of FUD about Binance? on: March 10, 2018, 10:33:34 PM
I always like to know the biggest and most influential names in the news industry who try to peddle fake news. So if anyone knows about the big names that were saying that Binance was hacked, going down, people lost all their money, etc. I'd love to hear the name of the people involved with trying to stoke fear in the market and fuck everything up.

Thanks yall!
3197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: will XRP overtake BTC in 10 MONTHS TIME ? on: March 10, 2018, 08:55:42 PM
No chance, XRP is a centralized coin that is all hype. It has no real purpose, no banks are going to actually use this coin in the least. Bitcoin has a use factor, Ripple is a coin that is owned by a foundation and isn't going to do anything.

So no, this will never EVER happen. ETH or LTC have a better chance, and their chances are slim.
3198  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Beware YOBIT users on: March 10, 2018, 06:28:48 PM
Don't know why anyone still uses YOBIT, there are so many other exchanges like Binance, Bitfinex, etc that accept people without too much verification. I don't even see the place for yobit in the market anymore, they're pretty shit.

I'd hope for them to simply be removed by losing too many people.
3199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where have all the cypherpunks gone? on: March 10, 2018, 04:56:14 PM
They're still here without a doubt, but at the moment they're not seen as the majority due to the influx of money / news from people who are simply here to make as much FIAT money as they can. They're not here for any other reason, and it downs out the effects that cypherpunks had before when they were in the majority.

They may still even be in majority, though they're being drowned out by the louder people.
3200  Economy / Economics / Re: Blockchain — A Libertarian Socialist Revolution on: March 10, 2018, 04:20:36 PM
Wouldn't call the blockchain nor Bitcoin anything involved with Socialism, it just wouldn't make sense. Socialism means that everything should be controlled and regulated by everyone. While Bitcoin does have that, it's not like our miners aren't centralized. Exchanges are as well. As a theory yes bitcoin looks like this, but in reality it isn't.

We could say we're decentralized, but we're really not.s
