2241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TRONbet of TRON Network!!! Do you guys try the gambling site of TRON? on: May 25, 2019, 05:19:27 PM
The site may look nice, and it may have some cool features, but that doesn't discount the fact that the coin that is being used as the medium for payments on this site is centralized as many people have left the Tron board, directors, etc. as the coin is centralized.

I would never get involved with a centralized project, as any government could tell the Tron board that its time to stop what they're doing and reverse transactions -- them boom, you've lost everything. Stick to something decentralized, like BTC.
2242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone else having good luck with 90%/950% dice bots? on: May 25, 2019, 04:50:58 PM
In the end, something like this isn't going to work; this is like a glorified martingale with you winning all the time. You're not going to be able to win the end though as the house edge is going to kill you in the end. You're going to go through a bad streak of losing a couple in a row -- and then you're going to lose all of your bankrolls. That's how the house edge works, and that's why rich people aren't just betting all their money on 90 percent odds.

You're not going to beat the house, the best way to 'gamble' is to invest in stocks, bonds, investing in the bankroll of a gambling site, etc., etc.
2243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: HAVE YOU EVER MET ANY SUCCESSFUL GAMBLER on: May 25, 2019, 04:38:25 PM
Not minding too much on meeting those people who have won bigtime yet there are lots of whales do play on any sites as of now either it would be on Dice or sportsbetting etc.I have known
some people personally but not really winning bigtime. You would only see them on leaderboards thats why it isnt really that interesting.

1 BTC you mean? Then check this out https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=843892.0 where someone do able to exploit primedice winning up or simply abuse it up and
do get 2k btc.

This isn't a successful gambler though; this is a successful scammer. That's not the same thing in the least, and shouldn't be confused as such. The only person who is going to win in gambling in the long run is the casino, as the house edge is what is going to cause you to lose if you continue to gamble and gamble and gamble.

The only people who I could think of who are successful in gambling would be the poker pros -- as they're not gambling against the house, they're gambling against one another.
2244  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Socialism is so bad that it allows poor people to live. Horrible true story on: May 25, 2019, 03:21:41 PM
No one denies the fact that capitalism is better for the wealthy.  Its far better and thats not even debatable.  Advocates of socialism are simply considering the quality of life of the typical person as opposed to just those in situations of privilege.

Once you have the facts (and not just some parroted talking points), neither are debatable.  Perspective and morals are the only things that matter in determining preference.

If you want to compare socialism to capitalism;  show the whole picture... not the small details leaving out the rest of the story as you accuse;  and maybe I will consider walking down the road to discuss it with you....
In capitalist societies, privilege is earned.  Our rights aren't privilege....  Don't mistake that.

To say that socialism a better quality of life is quite subjective on the level of acceptance/quality of life I expect;  not to mention the great numbers of historical shortfalls socialism has shown us over the years.   It's amazing how people that aren't given [what I consider to be] inalienable basic human rights; are quick to cite privilege against capitalism when they are coming from a heavily biased socialist sentiment.  Socialist policies are 100% privilege to the people whom they apply to.... using a socialist type of irrational thought process.

All I can say, is I have experienced both systems in my life.   I have also seen the good and bad parts of both systems first hand around the world.     Medically, and systemically they have taught me some important things in life.

Historically, capitalist societies flourish better, and lead to more opportunity to pursue ones own happiness in life;  not someone else's.  Who are you to tell someone how to live their life?  How is your opinion any better or greater than anyone else's?

Trust me.  I have plenty of facts.

The main issue is people not being receptive to those facts on both sides, and accepting that both people are correct, and incorrect at the same time.

Learn to live with it; don't force yourself on others.  That's how socialism could actually work.... but then it wouldn't be socialism; not having a standardized tiered set of control and "parameters" for people to conform to as to complete [person/entity]'s objective.

People don't understand that while CAPITALISM does have its flaws, it is still the best system out of the ones that we've tried to this date. People who advocate for more socialism, typically live in countries where there is Capitalism and not Socialism -- you would know that if you were to live in a socialist country, you wouldn't want to be there.

That's the way it goes.

Those people in Capitalist countries don't know how well they have it.
2245  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Socialism is so bad that it allows poor people to live. Horrible true story on: May 25, 2019, 12:20:27 AM
There's no easy solution to this but considering even doctors and accountants in Cuba are side hustling as taxi drivers for tourists to make ends meet, what's clear is government is hardly efficient, whether it's capitalist or socialist. It's not their money they're spending.

I'm no economist but probably someone can find a good way to provide incentives or at least discourage bad behavior. We don't even have universal healthcare where I live but the government does provide subsidies for certain conditions and years ago an eye clinic was shutdown for doing unnecessary operations on the elderly. These people wouldn't have been able to afford these surgeries anyway but since the government is footing the bill... Of course others don't go that far but they do make you come back more often than necessary since they get paid each time anyway. Heard this is also the reason for increasing number of C-Section surgeries in the US.

socialism has to be implemented correct.

If it fails, it must be not true Socialism but something else.

Exactly. That's the argument that these socialists use time and time again. They continue to say how it's 'not true socialism' and 'it's not true communism' and so on. They're going to lie to themselves so much, that at a certain point even THEY believe their bullshit.

I don't understand how someone can live life like that, but that's life.
2246  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Julian Assange, Wikileaks co-founder, faces 17 new charges in US on: May 24, 2019, 03:39:36 PM
The reason why Assange stayed in the Ecuador embassy for all those years was because he was afraid of, and had every reason to believe England would extradite Assange to the US. As long as Assange remains charged in the US, I do not see any way he will not be extradited to the US based on the treaty between the two countries.

After the 2020 election, Trump should pardon Assange. Assange has embarrassed many powerful people in DC, and Trump will not have political support for doing this. Depending on his margin of victory, and the state of Congress after the 2020 election, Trump may need to wait until after the 2024 election.

Honestly I don't think this is something that is going to happen, Trump may like Assange personally for what he released and such -- though the Republican party isn't going to be able to allow him to walk for what he released regarding the War in Iraq / War on terror that was released in 2011 (I think) by Assange. This is also the time when Democrats LOVED Wikileaks.

If Assange was simply releasing information, like media companies in the US do time and time again -- that's one thing. Though if he has helped in actually hacking databases, paying people to do it, and so on -- then he should be punished as such.

2247  Other / Politics & Society / Re: May's Resignation: What Next? on: May 24, 2019, 02:03:08 PM
HA. Just noticed we literally just posted the same topic, but it doesn't really matter so I put my comments here.

I think that Boris Johnson may win the vote for the party, he's one that is able to rally voters and MP's around him to be able to win votes. Something that party loyalists like in a PM.

The Pound is going to take a beating, it's not going to have a good time in the coming days as people are going to think that 'no deal' may actually happen.

Socialism doesn't work 7% of the time.

Do the poor people get the absolute best health care modern technology can possibly give, as soon as possible, money no object no matter if it costs $100mm?
I highly doubt it..
I live in Finland, as long if it's possible to provide, and necessary then yes. Also what the hell costs $100mm per person? Nothing.

How necessary?
Is the rich guy allowed to buy products or services that may not meet your definition of necessary?

Like, if an Xray is recommended and will probably do, but the guy also wants a CAT scan and an MRI to be extra sure.. Can he pay extra for that? And also go to another doctor for a 2nd opinion?
Wanting a scan is not how healthcare works.  The experts determine what is needed and get a 2nd opinion if they aren't sure and only recommend what is needed.

By experts you mean employees of the government? So what you are saying is under socialism you don't choose what kind of health care you get, the government does? Sounds wonderful. Tell me, did you eat lots of paint chips as a kid?

With this in mind, how could I ensure this doctor isn't just doing this to save some time and money? Would I be able to go see another doctor shortly, or would it take me another 2 months to get another appointment? I feel like in some ways, with these restrictions on time it's going to make regular people just say 'fuck it' and accept the first doctor's recommendation as correct.

I'm not saying that all doctors are horrible people or something along those lines, I just think that there is a conflict of interest in doctors being paid by the government in which they can be forced to be very very conservative in the tests that they administer -- as they could be bullied into doing less instead of more.
2249  Other / Politics & Society / Theresa May announces resignation on: May 24, 2019, 01:41:40 PM
Theresa May has just announced her resignation (effective on June 7th) This may potentially pave the way for a more pro-Brexit Conservative to take the PM post and to deliver a 'no deal Brexit'

May has constantly been using the term 'Brexit means Brexit' while not delivering on that promise, which has angered many conservatives who want to leave the EU. While I don't know if a disorderly exit is the one that should be done, I do think that the voters have voted and if the only thing that can be agreed upon the house of commons is to leave with no deal, then you must leave with no deal and negotiate trade deals and such later.

What does everyone here think about this news?
2250  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reasons anonymous payment method is necessary on: May 24, 2019, 01:04:59 PM
Ironically, the government is trying to point out the main reason of being strict to this is to minimize the case of money laundering. While on the upper hand most of the law makers from the government are doing the worse thing and that sucks.

The generations today are now seeking more of our privacy because I would rather used my personal information to the things I really needed and have willingly provided it rather than someone or somebody will be using it for their own benefits.

On the other hand tho, this is a global issue therefore other countries just follows the united laws that was created by those first class countries because they were too afraid that there might be a boycott of economic help when it comes to any crisis.

This is such a bullshit claim by the government, as money laundering could be done in a much simpler way with cash and fake businesses. Money laundering Crypto still requires someone to cash it out at some point -- which can all be tracked on a public ledger. I would doubt someone wants to go through all of the time, and the risk, of attempting to money launder with Crypto when the on-ramps and exit ramps (of fiat) are usually pretty easy to catch.

Who knows what the reasoning is though, as Bitcoin isn't hurting the dollar or being used instead of the dollar (or other fiat currencies) at this time.
2251  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reasons anonymous payment method is necessary on: May 24, 2019, 12:37:06 AM
Well, the reason why having an anonymous payment method is really "no" for the governments is because it is actually a threat from their manipulation.

The governments were established to rule. So they will do their best to say being authorities. Having an anonymous payment method won't let them become an authority in each and everyone they are ruling with. Also, they are doing their best to at least protect their people by monitoring all the stuff for the good of everyone and their pockets.

I'd like to point something out. Governments weren't established as a way to rule over people in the sense that they would be controlling every part of their lives. That was not the intention of the founding fathers in America, and they would be appalled to see what this country has done to our constitutionally given rights.

Governments are going to do what they want to do to ensure this tech isn't going to take off, though in my mind, cash is the best form of anonymous payment. With bitcoin, every single payment you make is on a public ledger and is VERY EASY to trace (if you fail at opsec, of course) cash isn't easy to trace as it can just move from hand to hand.
2252  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Socialism is so bad that it allows poor people to live. Horrible true story on: May 24, 2019, 12:30:55 AM
Poor people actually have the same care than the rich.

Do the poor people get the absolute best health care modern technology can possibly give, as soon as possible, money no object no matter if it costs $100mm?
I highly doubt it..

How about the rich guy? Is he not allowed to have that even if he can pay for it himself?

+1 to that.

Socialism isn't a good system, and it leads to a country in disarray as we see in Venezuela. It causes the government to give and give (in the forms of welfare) and take and take and take (in the form of taxes) until there is nothing left to give and nothing more to take. It's not a system that anyone should have to live under, as it will lead to the untimely demise of your government.

2254  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ron Paul: A Nuclear War Over Venezuela? on: May 23, 2019, 01:18:28 PM
This is just typical blog bullshit, we're not going to have a nuclear war over Venezuela, and I highly doubt that Ron Paul thinks something like this is going to happen to. Venezuela is going to crumble when they're under more and more US sanctions, and a real government -- one that follows the constitution of their nation, should be able to be elected. It's not fair to a country to be ruled by a tyrannical leader who only cares for himself, and won't allow the people in his nation to accept foreign emergency aid.

A nation that won't allow other nations to help them is a nation that must be fixed. Maduro's regime is a horrid one and one that should fall.

It seems like some people are overestimating the conflict in Venezuela or simply dramatize the situation for their own benefit, which is also possible when politicians talk such things.
Right now Venezuela is a poor country that spends most part of their income that they get from oil export on paying their old debts. It doesn't seem that they can afford their own nuclear programme and tbh no one really cares about them.
The only noise in media is desperately made by US politicians blaming Venezuela for contacting with Russia like it is something bad by default.

2255  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Loaded Coins Do You Care Where The Funding Comes From on: May 23, 2019, 01:13:15 PM
To me, bitcoin is fungible. 1BTC = 1BTC.
The ones that were seized from Silk Road are tainted, however they also were auctioned by the US govt, so what about that taint ?
It went away and there is not a single satoshi from that pot that is considered "deviant" today.

It's the same as banknotes, really, except cash is not traceable. There is no way to avoid this as the quantity of BTC is finite and they are doomed to go in circles.

I am planning to release loaded Coldkeys in the very near future.
We will be funding them with some of the BTC that was received by our company as payments.

I don't see the reason for people to truly want 'virgin coins' I don't think it makes a difference in the least if your coins were just mined, or if they have been through hacks, fraud, etc. If you weren't the one that facilitated the fraud or did anything to obtain the coins illegally, then I don't think those coins should be looked at in a different light.

This sort of discussion is like caring about where your fiat paper money comes from. Yes, your money could have been used in a drug deal, but you weren't involved in that in the slightest.
2256  Economy / Exchanges / Re: what do you make out of Binance hack on: May 23, 2019, 01:05:08 PM
On Tuesday May 7th, 2019, Binance suffered the 6th worst cryptocurrency hack in history with around $40 million in Bitcoin stolen from the exchange.

In a statement, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao calmed the market. The hack only affected Binance’s BTC hot wallet, and no other wallets were impacted. Around 2% of Binance’s total BTC holdings were stolen.

Acting quickly and stopping all withdrawals, Binance issued a statement:

Binance will use the #SAFU fund to cover this incident in full. No user funds will be affected.

In July 2018, Binance setup a secure asset fund (SAFU) for users, allocating 10% of their received trading fees into the fund designed to act as an emergency insurance policy to protect users against losses in the event of a malicious attack.

With the news Binance is covering 100% of exchange user losses from their SAFU fund, for Bitcoin, it was back to business as usual.

https://www.altcoinsidekick.com/blog/wonderwall?

Well the binance hack did not even shake the over-all market unlike the recent attacks on other exchange. Instead it pushed Binance to upgrade their whole platform and tighten their security to make sure that all their users will be safer this time around.

This is because Binance had a safeguard if they were ever to get hacked, they knew that something might happen in the future and they put a portion of their trading fees towards a self-insurance policy. (Read here - https://www.binance.vision/glossary/secure-asset-fund-for-users)

The sad fact is that something like this has to happen to ensure that innovation and security are put forward. An innovation with security wouldn't happen on Binance if not for a hack, sad, but it's the truth.
2257  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA EU TRADE WAR on: May 23, 2019, 02:52:29 AM
Protectionism is only going to hurt the USA, as more and more the global market will simply bypass the country. The only net effect that can come out from this, is less and less trade for Americans, a wealth source that will move elsewhere, hopefully emerging markets.

Trump is thinking 50+ years in the past, but the world simply doesn't function like that anymore. Sure it is an opportunity for the rest of us, but i don't think Americans will enjoy these policies for long, especially when they start feeling more and more the negative effects.

As for universal income, that is only a source of inflation. If everyone suddenly has 10k every month, what you used to do with 10k will now cost 20k. Instead of dreaming of earning money without working, worry more about having plenty of jobs (or entrepreneurial opportunities) so you have a better chance to work less for more.

I think people sometimes forget that you can't just ignore the US and move on, large amounts of companies in the EU rely on the US as their consumer market -- as we have a good deal of disposable income in the US (or at least, income that we spend on stuff even if we can't afford it)

I'm going to assume that Trump's rhetoric comes from the fact that there must be EU tariffs on American cars while American tariffs on EU cars are probably lower. That's the reason Trump is going after this, and if this is the case I think most should support him. If we want free trade, we must ensure that it is also fair trade.
2258  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Reasons anonymous payment method is necessary on: May 23, 2019, 02:46:01 AM
I always have a significant issue when I'm trying to explain why privacy is vital, and why I'd rather have the people in the US have some degree of privacy rather than a government which acts like an invasive hacker group determined to find out if we're terrorists. I think this comes down to the fact that our lack of privacy is normalized, and anyone that doesn't want to give it up is looked at as an outcast and someone who must be doing something wrong.

Check out this quote below from PrivacyTools; this is an amazing one. It shows why privacy is necessary for ALL.

Over the last 16 months, as I've debated this issue around the world, every single time somebody has said to me, "I don't worry about invasions of privacy because I don't have anything to hide." I always say the same thing to them. I get out a pen; I write down my email address. I say, "Here's my email address. What I want you to do when you get home is email me the passwords to all of your email accounts, not just the nice, respectable work one in your name, but all of them, because I want to be able to just troll through what it is you're doing online, read what I want to read and publish whatever I find interesting. After all, if you're not a bad person, if you're doing nothing wrong, you should have nothing to hide." Not a single person has taken me up on that offer.
2259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are Africans being "helped" to much? on: May 22, 2019, 05:21:16 PM
Africans are not poor as perceived by majority people in the world. The continent of Africa is blessed with alot of resources but I think the problem is effective utilization of these resources which are abundant in their natural state. Poor leadership and a sense of direction has made people think Africans are poor.

I’d have to agree here. There is a massive corruption problem in Africa, the people in government who are corrupt are insanely wealthy from being corrupt.

Foreign aid also is just diverted to government corruption as well

I don't understand the rationale behind him still attempting to prove that he's Satoshi, he does it in a way that makes him look like a phony and HE IS A PHONY. He can't sign keys, can't move some funds from the initial blocks, etc, etc.

This guy is just making a fool of himself, and I hope at some point his BSV supporters notice that.

sadly, mainstream people aren't going to research his claims and debunk them. many people will take his words at face value, particularly since the media happily plays into this sort of nonsense. those are the people wright is going after---not reasonable people who are capable of seeing through his BS.

it's still not obvious to me what his endgame is. he may just be using these stunts to pump and dump BSV, which in and of itself looks like a cash grab. unfortunately, BSV supporters are going to be biased towards whatever is good for the price.

Thats the sad truth of the matter, the media is going to gobble this up and just throw this information into peoples faces. People is then going to think that CSW is this Satoshi figure.

Only the people who don't trust the MSM, or at least want to do their own research, is going to be able to find out the truth.

This only happens because the story of "BITCOIN CREATOR FOUND" gets a lot more clicks then "BITCOIN CREATOR STILL NOT FOUND"
