322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 17, 2019, 04:53:42 PM
If bitcoin will follow its pattern, the coin might witness another 20-fold increase in next years.
It means bitcoin might set up its new all time high.
What happened in 2017?
BTC reach $20000, that was around 20 time-fold rise from its price in early months of 2017, around $100.
In other words, I think BTC might hit only $20000 x 20 times ~ $ 400.000 in 2021, not too high as you predicted over $800.000.  Smiley
Somewhere around 2021 mid june to july you will see it crossing ATH around 400 USD for litecoin and 20000 usd for bitcoin and by the end of 2021 you will see  close to 1 million usd rise for bitcoin which litecoin would be around 6500 to 7000 usd. litecoin however would have bitcoin price movement.

IMHO, we need a lot of traction..some of it just to stay sideways in price

1) newbies...which there are none

2) eft/or other major adoption news of some note

I myself figure, we are in the GOLD zone price wise and could go sideways for the  next 1.5 to 2 years. This for the same reason gold has been sideways

more or less these last years...but with BTC it may make a bit MORE sense for it to be at 3k vs gold's price in its usefulness

but, nobody seems to be 'Window Shopping' for any crypto BTC/LTC or whatever...thus Cyrpto Winter in my case I'm figuring 2 years for LTC or BTC or

whatever to get back on the horse and gallop. *unless the horse dies or craig wright is satoshi for btc and shoots the horse*

as usual, I hope LTC will pump first and show BTC out of the fog..but damn this is annoying

I don't mind it to be honest. The longer we go sideways - the more I see crypto as a spendable currency rather than a store of value.
I mean, if i buy some 'whatevercoin' today and see stuff i like and want to buy tomorrow, it's no big deal to trade it out and swap it for something equally as 'sideways moving'...

stability in itself will bring further adoption.

That depends on what the average Joe thinks. You are right if it goes sideways people tend to spend it in contrast to the coin being volatile, but ultimately most buyers are still waiting for a pump.

Also very relevant. Yes. We may see sideways movement for an exceptionally long time would see many buyers slowly distribute their bagholdings and a new era of crypto-joes flood the market, encouraging those old ATH buyers to look again at the market and decide new positions... who knows. very interesting days.

further TESTNET android wallet testing tonight:

Send / receive while phones are locked has been tested manually. Results found that even when an android device is locked and the wallet app is running in the background, coins are still transacted. My next step will be to leave the app running overnight and monitor battery usage.

test case:

sender sent 2 TESTNET Beams to receiver mobile device.
sender locked phone down - leaving wallet app running in the background.
receiver also locked phone down - leaving wallet app running in the background.

receiver checked phone 20 mins after utxo and found transaction took 7 mins to show complete.
sender checked phone 25 mins after utxo and found transaction took 11 mins to show complete.

Assumptions:

background refreshing of both phones were enacted differently, hence offering the differing receive points.

again another flawless test of the Beam android wallet.

[ANN] Four-Hour-Long Community Test of BEAM Andorid BETA wallet (Testnet coins only)

OK, final synopsis of the test send/receive within discord community on channel #mobile-wallet is as follows:

The wallet appears to work flawlessly. When a user is offline, the transaction waits to see the wallet come online (unsure of max timeout at this point.) and the utxo begins 'synching with blockchain' when it immediately sees the wallet online.

From there it waits for next block and goes 'completed' - User wallet confirms receipt of Beams.

I'd say, pretty much flawless, all errors found seemed to be user errors, such as community users requesting testnet coins then going offline.

An In-depth check was with a user who thought he had left his wallet online... when the phone went to standby, the wallet stopped responding. User then restarted his android wallet and utxo was seen immediately.

Initial tests show positive working of the BETA wallet. Further tests will continue.

what is the annual inflation rate?

"Beam is designed to be a deflationary coin with capped supply, halving every four years and stopping emission altogether after 133 years."

So we don't know the actual number of coins that will be released on an annual basis?

Also, what exactly does 'maturing' mean? Is this another word for staking?

it's easy to calculate exactly how many coins are created each year.

Year 1 = 80coins per block every 60 seconds + 20 coins per block emitted in a batch every 43800 blocks towards the treasury fund.
Year 2,3,4 = 40coins per block every 60 seconds + 10 coins per block emitted in a batch every 43800 blocks towards treasury fund.
Year 5 = 40coins per block very 60 seconds (treasury rewards cease).
Year 6,7,8,9 = 20 coins per block every 60 seconds.
Year 10,11,12,13 = 10 coins per block every 60 seconds.
and then halving every four years until 262,800,000 Beam are created.

We just released a new version: Agile Atom 1.1.4419 https://medium.com/beam-mw/mimblewimble-agile-atom-124419-release-89216a355604 #mimblewimble #SovereigntyByDesign
Will the newest version contains something relates to the partnership with Litecoin?
I meant does the version of BEAM has something can contribute to both BEAM and Litecoin.
Not yet. We just began research with Litecoin Team. We will need much more time to complete this mission.

How will this benefit BEAM?  Wink

In many ways, initially this has spread the word about Beam across all crypto communities, it remains the hot topic of discussion.
As we work together, it will put Beam team as the go-to source for assistance with utilising mimblewimble and ensuring true financial freedom in cryptocurrency and privacy for all - whether you are in bags of Beam or in bags of Litecoin, your savings are safe from scrutiny (with opt-in audit-ability coming to Beam in the future).
Beam is bringing back the real purpose of crypto, no more in-fighting and community vs community, Beam will be known in history as the project which brought everyone together and out of the bearish sentiment that drags us down today.
Onwards and upwards to satoshi's true vision for privacy....

I like the term 'Sovereignty by Design.'

keeping busy!
I should also point out that we have the most excellent support team in most media channels.
If anyone has issues with their Beam wallet, don't hesitate to get in touch and we can work to assist.

thanks!

Hello guys just need help about my transaction if how can I see beam coin transaction in block explorer?
Or how can I track my recent transaction because I send few beam coin for testing in hotbit.io few hours ago but until now I don't see any sign or history that I receive beam coin to my hotbit.io wallet?

you will see if it went through, when the wallet shows a kernel ID for it. When there is a kernel ID, it should show as completed in your wallet and if it is not showing at your exchange after this, you will need to contact them.

If there is no kernel ID yet, and status is not yet completed, it may be a problem with receivers wallet, and the tx will fail after 12 hrs.

hope this helps

A community user has pointed out a very good in-depth article on BEAM

https://www.blockdelta.io/beam-the-privacy-focused-cryptocurrency-built-on-the-mimblewimble-protocol/

It's great info if you are unsure about how Beam was born and how it works.
