IMO - Presstab block explorer a must have for every coin.
Here is current prices:

12 Month Prepay - $5/mo if paid in 1 pmt.

Dennis & I are kicking in $15 each (BTC) please consider joining. Dennis will handle escrow
and payment - need done by end on month.

See Dennis' post #1756 for BTC address

Dennis: sent my payment just now.
Tx id -   9bc392ff0ce635e9d1956db1960235dd0330969b1adc87f112db981f7775342d: Seen by 3 peers.

For everyone: Please consider contribluting even if a very small amt.

I sent 0.15 BTC Cheesy

I sold the 115k CON I bought already but I noticed that Cryptsy instituted a 0.5% fee for all withdrawls so that support is going to C-Cex Tongue @ 812 where I bought it from.

You noticed that too? I think they started charging that yesterday. So, I sent my CON to C-Cex withdrawals are a lot cheaper.
Charged me 88 CON to withdraw 17.5k! Thanks for the donation for explorer!

Peace, Dennis

Yeah, they upped their Fees on trade from 0.25% to 0.3% and also charge 0.5% of the entire balance ontop of the network Fee, that is like 1-1.5% to deposit, buy any coin and withdraw. Cryptsy also Stakes on their holdings of Coins so I guess that would be a triple dip?

Lots of people not happy about it and moving their Coins to other exchanges :S

Crest: What are your thought on the increase in Orphans. I get about 20%
Is it a server issue or just that there are that many POS blocks claimed
by more than one account at same time?

Does it need a code adjustment?

Well code always can be improved, I'll do a little pow-wow with presstab and see if he might be able to help.

At this moment I'm setting up the domain, also on my list today is to update the bootstraps.

Between Crest, Dennis and I we should be good but, if others continue to contribute,
we can pay out for 2 years or, with permission of donors, the funds can be held by Crest for other
similar expenses that he incurs

I don't really have any real expenses TBH, website I'm putting together costs $30 a year to host lol

Buywall went back up on C-Cex

Crest are you still going to code?

Yes.

The thing is that in November I turn 31, I can get a 2 year working holiday visa in the UK if I apply before then so it's either go now, or can't go because that is the cutoff.

Probably just need a tablet Tongue

lol people panic selling.

welp, CON development fund has 500k now, I just picked up about 116k.

I wanted to figure out how to decentralize more things so everything is more of a shared responsibility. For example the OP, how could we have the OP be able to be updated by a few people instead of just one person?

I'll never leave Crypto lol, I don't think that is possible for me but want to have a few people to be able to update so I don't have to.

Could you clear out a thing for me: during your travels, are you going to completely drop crypto, or are you still gonna be here? Cause the community can handle dev funds, OP, and everything else, but not development.

No I wouldn't want to drop Crypto because then I'd get left behind, I can manage the fund I have from anywhere so really I want to be able to mobilize everything so this would be something we'd have to do anyways.

Ppl decided what CON is over I see heavy dumping on cryptsy Embarrassed
Cresty, say please what you never leave CON.

CON is dead, price dropping like a rock on Cryptsy!

So, someone needed some money and selling off their stash. I just picked up 37k, Thank-you seller!
Is the glass half full? Or is it half empty? Are you going to run for the hills and sell too?
I see a buying opportunity myself. The only reason I bought any CON was because I learned,
Crestington was the new dev. I trust Crestington, he is about the best person, one can find.
Works hard and is dedicated to seeing things through! If someone has to sell, show your support and buy MORE!

Vegasguy sold, or is selling 400k, probably needed some funds for Fly? Last, I heard he was taking over ROS2 aka FLY
Darn, richlist! Tattles on the whales who liquidated some of their holdings!

Peace, Dennis

Everyone don't forget to split up your 'blocks'. We will need to be able to burn through about 720 blocks per day and those 720 won't be eligible to stake again until another 7 days. I just split into a bunch of 4 FLY blocks. I think it will be good if we get a lot of people to go pretty small like this (3-10). 25 FLY blocks as stated before should work well too, but we also need to create a high quantity of blocks that will be ready to phase us off of PoW.

You could always just make a script that sends 1 transaction every 2 minutes over 7 days.

Re-splitting to add several hundred more blocks

Well you want to have about 5,000 Blocks available to Stake. The moneysupply is 160,000 so the average Block would be 3 but many would have larger Blocks (or not eligible/not online) so you would Stake the most by having your Blocks Split even smaller (0.1-1) giving you the most chance of hitting SuperBlocks.
330  Economy / Economics / Re: Martin Armstrong Discussion on: September 20, 2015, 09:57:28 AM
I am looking forward to Armstrong's comments re Greece tomorrow and the near-future.

I think I understand this better than Armstrong does.

Perhaps the Troika will use the big stick of capital controls to induce the Greeks to vote for the Troika's bailout terms which contains a few carrots with more austerity.

The referendum is some sham to convince the Europeans they are not under a dictatorship, as was the case for Scotland.

Remember my prediction in 2010 in the "Understanding Everything Fundamentally" essay.

You will probably need a week or two of studying the thread slowly.

I will be the first to admit I needed a week to fully absorb the following works of AnonyMint.

The Rise of Knowledge
Understand Everything Fundamentally

http://www.coolpage.com/commentary/economic/shelby/Understand%20Everything%20Fundamentally.html#europe

"Coase’s theorem says that an inefficient internal order will continue for as long as there remains an unavoidable frictional barrier insulating it from the more efficient external possibilities. The fundamental reason the EU crisis will not result in a disintegration of the union, at least not until its people significantly abandon collectivism, is that organisms which are unable to comprehend the mechanism by which they are consuming resources faster than their ecosystem can replenish, thus are unable to stop the mechanism before they perish. So the implosion of the friction and thus the order only occurs when they perish, because they will continue to repeat the mechanism which they do not understand to be a cause of their suffering. This can be verified in a petri dish, as an organism will reproduce until it consumes all of its food or oxygen."

I think Armstrong is wrong in all of his formulas.

I don’t know how to get you to understand that tomorrow impedes the today from ever happing with thought having to first remember the future past thing you were thinking about when talking about the thing to were supposed to say when you never said it. This has the disparency of never acting the way we said we were going to do we did, except we’ve already done it and now we are re-enacting in a way that should never have been.

Does that make sense?

Is there a reason that every block I mint is an orphan or am i just shit out of luck lol ?

Try adjusting your hashsettings and tuning your clock? I've been getting a fair number of orphans too so I'm wondering what can be done to reduce that amount.

a question before i apply this; if we set setstakesplitthreshold to 25 than what will happen to blocks which are originally 30 or 40 sizes once they stake?

i didnt know the results since blocks in my hyp/con/tek wallet's are  of same sizes and i guess blocks wont break into 2 in xra where i have multiple size blocks.

The Block will Stake and combine the block reward into one bigger Block.

Anyone aware that Presstab's block explorer needs a payment to continue being listed?
Service expires Sept. 30th. Maybe top 5-10 holders could kick in some BTC to pay for a
year more. Sounds reasonably to me!

Peace, Dennis

I am unaware (totally unaware) of what it cost annually to run a coin. It would be helpful to
know. What happens to Tx fees? (Another thing I don't know.) Do Tx fee pay the coins costs?
If not, maybe they need raised. Those that use split block more & send/receive coins to/from
exchanges would pay more - smaller pockets less.

I certainly hold a lot of Con but, I also did not get in at the beginning back when staking
was sizeable. So, let's start with what do Presstab's services cost per year in  the
amount of Con it would take to pay for them?

The costs are the electricity to run a wallet and enough to pay people to do the things you don't want to do.

Can rent servers for $30 a year and host nodes and websites, most all other information or programs can be found for free.

Tx Fees paid from all transactions from the last Block are added to the next Block on top of the Block reward.

$60 is not bad, I suppose presstab could leave an address to send donations to and how long it's paid up to and that would work quite well for all the different coins.

damn, tried to catch some quick solo blocks. Your too fast OC!!

Vegas

Shouldn't there be a checkpoint server? I looked at github and you left the checkpoint server pubkey blank.

Checkpoint servers often do more harm than good. I am personally against the centralization of a checkpoint server, but if Vegas were decide to run one then it could be added into the next wallet release.

Lets leave it out. Hey presstab to autocombine blocks into blocks of 25, do I use the following command in my exe shortcut?

-combinethreshold=25 -setstakesplitthreshold=25   (for windows)

unless i am horribly wrong, there is no combinethreshold in this coin and the split you can set in the debug window once and not with a exe flag. more info on splits can be found here

http://hyperstake.wikia.com/wiki/How_to_set_up_your_wallet_for_autostaking

in Main.h

static const int64_t DEF_COMBINE_AMOUNT = 1 * COIN;
51 /** Combine Threshold Max */
52 static const int64_t MAX_COMBINE_AMOUNT = 100 * COIN

You set your combine threshold in your .conf file as combinethreshold=

It was adapted from TEKcoin

Thx for the Info. Pool closed / stopped. A few pages before i was informed that it is just a non mandatory update...
After you had posted, it was found that the random rewards were coded a little incorrectly and produced a 700k SuperBlock (5 times the current supply) so the markets were halted and now the Blockchain will be rolled back and a fix put in.

Actually had nothing to do with the superblock rewards, problem was with the reward code from COL2 that this coin was cloned from. Compiling new wallet now and everything will be ready in a few moments.

Edit: Crest I remember you telling me that the CON reward code wasn't supposed to hit the 30 reward cap each time when you made the fork, but for some reason it always did. I think this is that same miscode coming back to haunt (I assume COL2 was cloned from CON?).

Yes it was cloned from CON so that would be the case, I would be interested to see what it was exactly that caused that.

I have noticed that somewhere between the early Novacoin clones (CAP, HBN, TEK, HYP, etc) and the newer brand of PoS clones, that the GetCoinAge function changed, and consequently requires the reward code to add an extra division by 'COIN'. The source we were working on had this newer coinage calculation but the older way of calculating the reward without the extra COIN division. I should have caught this error, as I first noticed this change when I forked the XRA rewards. But I didn't notice it, and here we are. Luckily the block was minted by iDunk, and vegas was fast to notify yobit and the thread here. All in all, no damage done and we should be up and running.

Well it was really impressive how quickly it was caught and resolved.

I had an interesting thought though, could it be possible to have a certain amount being generated on top of the Stake rewards to a specific address every so many Blocks as a provision for funding?

Im curious. Funding for what cause?

promo, websites, mobile but I guess that may also crash the price if misused as well.

Edit: Seems like I just needed to divide by COIN so in a sense the base reward was always a million times higher so it would always hit the subsidy cap.
340  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: StakeMiners: Terms of Service unclear, owner not responding, use @ your own risk on: September 19, 2015, 03:06:04 PM
I am a little disappointed that cyberpinoy would not discuss Stakeminers more openly than he has been. I have pushed him a bit to try to make that happen but seems convinced that people are out to get him when these questions and advice from people (particularly in this thread and on Gethashing), are among the most experienced in the Crypto community. I personally think that negative questions and opinions are the very stuff that should be listened to the most, you should be trying to satisfy the critics because the ones that will go along with everything will do so anyways.

I think I put in about $20 worth of PayCon a while back to test out the site, I suppose I should check on it and see how it's doing.

My pm's with cyberpinoy was mainly about proper use of splitting Blocks in PayCon for better payouts as he was using very large Blocks when he could receive better rewards by using smaller Blocks. He also complained to me about people trolling him and I told him that he should be transparent, not attack people when posting and use correct spelling as it is a more professional way to handle situations but for the most part ended up saying the same thing multiple times. I would be ok with sharing all of my pm's sent and received between us, I'll leave this on the table for suchmoon to decide if he wants it or not but I think for the most part it won't really shed light on anything new.

I quite like the idea of a Stakepool but the challenge is having a central authority running it which will always cause problems as it is run as a security.

Unless there is something criminal in those PMs there is probably no need to publish them. It would just give more ammunition to cyberpinoy to claim he's being attacked by trolls. A quick recap of how he moved the goalposts:

1) When being questioned about his past he claimed this has nothing to do with StakeMiners therefore not worth answering/proving/etc.
2) When being questioned about StakeMiners TOS he claimed those questions have an unknown intent, are coming from someone (me, suchmoon, specifically) who is not going to invest, therefore not worth answering/proving/etc.
3) When being questioned about StakeMiners investments (after I invested) he locked his thread and went quiet. Yesterday he demanded that I apologize for saying "shortage", which he took to mean "stolen". I apologized and he's still not answering questions.

Nothing criminal and basically don't want to post them because it is opinion (and said in confidence), I can send you copies through pm if you'd like and you can look over them.
